We then see the entrances of our teams for this first contest! Randy Savage, Brutus Beefcake, & Dino Bravo vs Greg Valentine, Honky Tonk Man, & Hercules -What a way to kick it off… Randy Savage is perhaps the most over man in the company right now not named Hulk Hogan. He has got the crowd in the palm of his hand and he’s got some good backup tonight. Bravo and Brutus look jacked and ready for a big showdown as we see Valentine, Honky, and Hercules coming out to some serious boos. Jimmy Hart leads his men into battle and we get underway with a very fun six-man tag. Early on we see a spot in which Beefcake is pushed into the ropes and hits Bravo who goes flying off the apron into the guardrail! The medics come out and take him to the back… it is 2-3! *COMMERCIAL* -We’re back with this match continuing and they are at about the 14-minute mark when the 3 on 2 numbers game is getting the best of Savage and Beefcake and out comes Dino Bravo to a heroes ovation! The crowd is going absolutely wild for him and he’s there for the big hot tag from Savage and he comes in and then comes back around and NAILS SAVAGE! Bravo picks up Savage and SIDEWALK SLAM! Beefcake comes into the ring and Bravo with a high knee right to the skull and he goes flying out of the ring to the floor! The referee has no clue what is going on here… Greg Valentine comes in and he picks up Savage before dropping him with a big brainbuster suplex! Honky picks him up for a shake, rattle, and roll! Then we Hercules pick him up for a powerslam as we see the guys all joke and then Valentine covers Savage for the 3-count. They continue to put the boots to him but here comes Brutus again but to no avail. The officials and agents come out and back off Hart’s men. The crowd is in complete disarray as to what has happened here. *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Jesse and Gorilla putting over the victory of the Harts even though Gorilla says it won’t count. They turn their attention to the tag team title match coming up next but before that we have the Horsemen come out and they look glorious tonight but there is definitely a sense of urgency with all them... Bobby Heenan puts over how the Horsemen are always performing on the biggest stages. Tonight, in front of millions of people they will retain the WWF Tag Team Titles and they will pay back Blackjack Mulligan for what he cost Barry Windham. He says that tonight Hulk Hogan is going to get exactly what’s coming to him and he looks forward to seeing Hogan carried out on a stretcher! Arn and Tully put over the tag team title match and say they are just two more pretenders who think they are contenders. When you look at the Horsemen you see first class, you see diamond rings, and you see gold belts. All others are just imitation and they will get exactly what’s coming to them tonight! Barry Windham is back and he puts over how he let his emotions get the best of him but it won’t happen again. Windham says he is more focused now than ever before and that the sins of his father will not be his own but will become his father’s undoing! Ric Flair is lit tonight and he is running wild as he runs down Andre the Giant, Blackjack Mulligan, and then makes claim at Hulk Hogan. He puts over how he has a contract on his desk to face Andre the Giant on December the 29th in Madison Square Garden for the World’s Heavyweight Title. He says it will be the biggest match in the history of the WWF and of this sport and when it is all said and done it will be Ric Flair… the Nature Boy… the World Champion… and the Giant Killer! He then runs down Hogan! He says that Hogan has put every contract he could think of on the line but Ric Flair won’t budge. He says Hogan isn’t a contender. He says that tonight, Dr. D will cash in on the $100,000 and he will walk away with the money and Hogan will be carted off into non-existence like he was never even here! We cut to the back where Mean Gene is with Mulligan and Andre…. They put over the tag titles and laugh at the Horsemen. They say they will be called the Exterminators because tonight they are going to squash some bugs. HAHAHAHA! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Gorilla and Jesse pumping up this big tag team match. We see Andre and Mulligan come out ot a great ovation and then Arn and Tully have got some great heat with Bobby Heenan… this one could break loose at any moment… WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Andre the Giant & Blackjack Mulligan vs Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard © w/ Bobby Heenan -This is quite the contest with both teams coming out and looking pretty well. The sheer size of Andre and Mulligan just outdoes anything that Arn and Tully can put together and that’s the story of the match. The highlight is seeing Andre come in and slam both men and them retreat out of the ring with the crowd booing up a storm. The Horsemen are able to get control after Bobby Heenan gets involved. They double up on Blackjack but Heenan gets grabbed by Andre and nailed with a big right hand and now he’s out of it! We come back from commercial with Barry Windham and Angel down at ringside. They are doing everything but throwing punches to help the Horsemen until Blackjack makes his big tag to Andre who comes in and just whales away at every and even nails Windham who goes flying to the floor! The crowd is going nuts right now as Andre looks to finish on Arn but Windham pulls him out of the ring and Andre smashes his elbow on the ground. Tully comes in and pounces but Andre throws him off and out to the floor. There is pure chaos outside the ring when we see Windham come out of nowhere with a lariat on Blackjack and he flies over the guardrail to the floor! Inside the Horsemen try Andre again but he comes with a double clothesline and they go over the top to the floor and the crowd is going nuts. Heenan is back in the ring and Andre picks him up and tosses him over the ropes, onto the Horsemen, knocking everyone down! The referee counts to 10 and Andre and Mulligan have won it. The titles don’t change hands. Mulligan comes back over the rail and he grabs Barry! OMG! It is chaos as the officials come out and the Horsemen flee. We go to the back for a classic Hogan promo as he runs down Dr. D. Hogan has got Hillbilly with him and he says that this fight is for Hillbilly Jim! This is for his buddy and all the Hulkamanaics out there. This fight is going to be the brawl to end it all and he says you better put the women and children to bed because Hulk Hogan is hungry tonight and he smells fresh meat! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Gorilla and Jesse putting over the whole night and now the big main event… the Bounty Match. No Rules in this one and one man will win… if it is Dr. D… he is scheduled to get his money from the Horsemen… if it is Hogan… he may in fact get his hands on Ric Flair when all is said and done! Bounty Match Hulk Hogan vs Dr. D Dave Schultz -One of the biggest matches in the history of Prime Time and we get to see the Hulkster go toe to toe with Dr. D, once and for all. This one's a classic brawl with Hogan pulling out all the stops and Dr. D giving him everything he’s got. Gorilla and Jesse put this through the roof as the best main event we’ve ever seen on Prime Time. The fight goes outside of the ring and we see Hogan send Schultz, pillar to post and the crowd is going wild! They get back in the ring and we see Dr. D get some heat and work over the Hulkster. He looks to be in dire straights with Dr. D looking to finish. He nails him with a big piledriver but one isn’t enough and he does a second one. He goes for the cover but Hogan kicks out and Hulks up! The crowd is ecstatic right now and Hogan hits the big punches and then tosses him to the ropes for the big boot but Schultz stumbles and here comes Hogan with the AXE BOMBA! Schultz is down… the LEGDROP… 1….2….3!!! Hogan has done it! Hogan has won and he has vanquished his enemy! The crowd is going wild with the Hulkster posing for everyone. Security comes and escorts Dr. D to the back and Hogan continues to pose! Gorilla and Jesse put this over in a big way. They say that Hogan has vanquished the bounty and he now has his sight set on Ric Flair who has made it known that he will do anything to keep the title from Hogan. We see the Hulkster walking to the back and posing for the crowd. He turns and OUT OF NOWHERE TERRY FUNK NAILS HOGAN WITH THE BRANDING IRON! OMG! FUNK IS HERE AND HE NAILS HOGAN WITH THE BRANDING IRON! HOGAN IS BUSTED WIDE OPEN! FUNK PICKS UP HOGAN AND PILEDRIVES HIM ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR! THAT’S THE THIRD PILEDRIVER! HOGAN IS UNCONSCIOUS! FUNK IS SCREAMING AT THE CAMERA! THIS IS PURE PANDEMONIUM!
  4. The UWF is alive and well here and what a couple of big matches... Magnum is hurt... how does the UWF recover? Who will take his spot. Hansen is definitely cut to hold that spot and with Dr. Death teaming up with Dusty... we've got a lot on the horizon with the UWF. I also liked the 8-man elimination match... always fun to utilize some of those when possible.
  5. I know we haven't been as active as of late but there's a lot of good stuff going here for JCP as they continue to evolve. I think November will be good with the battle bowl and starrcade on the horizon.. I think that Orndorff is on the rise here in a big way... keep him vulnerable and then pull that trigger and he's gonna be the main dude before too long with a list of challengers to step up and give him a go.
  6. If its a one night stand go ahead. It can't hurt for a one night showing and shouldn't hurt us with the cap. Just my opinion.
  7. WWF NEWS -The WWF continues to expand into new markets and with the addition of the Rougeau Brothers, the WWF will look to run some former Lutte spots as B-shows. Expect big things out of the tag team along with the Hart Foundation and Dino Bravo. These guys are all pushed big from Canada... the WWF will continue to expand to the north and make Toronto one of its major areas of focus. - With the big finish of Randy Savage and Barry Windham in the books... all eyes are on what the future will hold for Savage. Some think he will get a Hogan esq push with Savage going against monster types to build up his resume as someone who can go against anyone and come out on top. -Negotiations have continued with Terry Funk and the Road Warriors but word is coming out that all of them are getting top-tier money from Japan and look to continue bookings there for the time being. -The WWF will be running a special show on Thanksgiving night... much like last year, it is a team concept thought up by the WWF booking committee of Pat Patterson and Vince McMahon. This could be a staple in the future as the WWF continues to look into the idea of Pay Per Views and expanding that market in 1987. -Paul Heyman aka Paul E Dangerously is said to be a constant bother in the back because he is trying to pick up every bit of information he can about the business. Some find it to be a great quality while others view him as a pest. Needless to say, he is making noise in his performances in the right direction. -Expect Jack Manson, formerly Cactus Jack to be paired up with Bunkhouse Buck on somewhat of a full-time schedule in the coming weeks. He is said to be doing everything that is asked of him and making a good name for himself which could translate into a full-time gig. -The Warrior showed up at television tapings the other day and had some heat with WWF officials after no-showing a couple of weeks ago... he and Sting are said to have had some serious words with one another before Warrior was asked to leave. -Hulk Hogan is said to be getting a lot of "love" in the back with WWF officials. He isn't happy he isn't champion nor getting shots at the title...obviously the big play is WrestleMania but with Hogan in a negational mood with his contract coming up before WrestleMania... he does hold all the cards as the one true draw in America. He could go to any promotion in the US and make serious money. He also has offers from Japan which led to Flair coming in in the first place. Right now Hogan has the cards to play and Flair has the title... the WWF has WrestleMania 3 coming up and the storyline to sell it out... but how do we get there and what happens? Do we live in a world where Flair beats Hogan and keeps the title if Hogan won't negotiate? Would he even sign up to do the job? This writer doesn't think so and a majority of others feel the same way.
  8. Some good matchups are and I wouldn't mind seeing a 1985 Ken Patera vs a 1991 Ron Simmons. You've got a Ron Simmons who had a pretty high profile from UWF. He could fare well here. Teaming him with Spivey also gives him an extra kick. Looking forward to Rick Martel around here... he is definitely someone to keep an eye on.
  9. WWF Presents: Prime Time Wrestling 10/20 Hosted by Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from: Hershey, PA – Hersheypark Arena PT opens up this week with lots of footage from the Main Event III. We see the outcome of the big six-man match and Hogan’s promo. We see the classic contest between Savage and Windham and the big finish. We see Blackjack Mulligan look up and Windham and then the big elbow drop from Savage for the 3-count. We then cut to the arena with Jesse and Gorilla putting over a big night and they talk about revealing a huge card for next week right here on Prime Time from Richmond, Virginia! Right now we’ve got a big singles match… let’s head to the ring! Brutus Beefcake vs Steve Lombardi -A good showcase for Brutus who is getting back in the mix here in the WWF. He handles Lombardi with ease and gets the pinfall with a hot shot suplex for the 3-count. Brutus works the crowd… he isn’t quite the barber but he’s getting close! We then see Paul E come out with the Nasty Boys. They put over their feud with Sting and Davey and say they are going to make sure there will be more British Bull puppies or little Stingers! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back and we hear that Tito Santana is out of the match next week for the tag title due to the laceration from Dr. D… instead… we will see Andre the Giant teaming with Blackjack Mulligan to take on the Horsemen! That brings out the Horsemen and they don’t look happy… and they are WITHOUT Barry Windham! Bobby Heenan starts things off really going off on Hulk Hogan and says that Dr. D started a job but he will finish it next week in the bounty match! Heenan says he saw the contract and has the money ready for Schultz if he puts an end to Hogan once and for all. Arn and Tully go to task on Tito Santana and tell him that he is out for good reason and if he were in there it would be even worse! They turn their attention to Mulligan and Andre and say the bigger they are… the harder they fall. They won at the Main Event III and will do it again next week! Ric Flair addresses the elephant in the room and says that Barry Windham got the night off the recoup and figure out a way to get that title from Randy Savage but first he’s got to deal with Mulligan and Flair goes on to tell Mulligan that before too long he will be the one who puts him down if Barry won’t! Flair then goes to task on Andre and runs him down saying he will never be a tag team champion, let alone the world champion and that Ric Flair would be like Jack and the beanstalk and chop that giant down! He then says that Hulk Hogan is just a glimmer in his eye and next week he will be ringside to watch Dr. D put an end to him once and for all! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Jesse and Gorilla putting over the news of Barry Windham. This leads to Gorilla saying that the Horsemen have problems while Ventura says they don’t and they go back and forth on that. That leads us into our next contest… The Hart Foundation vs Jack Manson & Bunkhouse Buck -This Jack Manson guy is kind of a scary dude and the kids aren’t excited to see him. He and Bunk are a fun little pairing but the former tag team champions are really firing on all cylinders right now. We see the Hart Attack on Manson for the 3-count and the Harts are winners. We cut to Gorilla and Jesse and they are joined by Mr. Fuji who is with Muta and the TV title! They say that the decision was final and that the title is theirs! That brings out Curt Hennig who is looking for a fight. He says that he’s the champ and he’ll face Muta anytime… anywhere… Muta is ready right now but the Harts are there to hold Henig back. *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Gorilla and Jesse pumping up the night. They put over the big bounty match next week along with the tag title match. We have them pump up the main event as we cut to the ring... Billy Jack Haynes vs Greg Valentine w/ Jimmy Hart -A pretty big main event here with Haynes and Valentine doing some serious work. Valentine looks to be in great shape and to top it all off he is very vicious. We see the Honkytonk Man and Hercules in the background with Jimmy Hart in the foreground. The Hammer is able to secure the victory when he comes out of nowhere with a nasty shin to the skull and then an elbow to the throat for the 3-count. They are working the crowd but the fans don’t seem to care as Randy Savage has joined Gorilla and Jesse… Randy Savage is with Jesse and Gorilla and they are pumping up how Savage defended the title and vanquished Barry Windham. They put over how Savage is accepting any and all comers for the IC title and he looks forward to his next defense but that draws out Valentine, Honky, and Hercules who come over with Jimmy and they start giving Savage the business in a big way. They are saying all three of them are the top contenders and they should be the ones with the shot at the title. Savages says anytime, anywhere but as they look to pounce here comes Brutus Beefcake and Dino Bravo! They join up with Savage and we hear that it will be a six-man tag next week right here on a special edition of Prime Time! See you then!
  10. Champion vs Champion is a big deal here and two of the hottest acts in the territory. I like what happens and how this one could still break loose... and then what could happen if the titles were on the line! Now you head into New York huh? You better know the WWF faithful were there to boo and hold up random signs to show their loyalty! I like the loop right now and hoping to see more as MACW continues to expand.
  11. WWF Presents The MAIN EVENT III 10/19 Cleveland, OH – Convention Center {The Main Event opens with a limo pulling up and here come the Horsemen. All of them in swank suits, lead by Bobby Heenan, Sherri, and Angel. They walk into the building and look focused on what could be the most crucial night for them in their history.} {Another scene shows Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, and Tito Santana all warming up and getting their wrists taped. Hogan says this is for all the Hulkamaniacs out there and he has got the two best partners you could ask for to get it done tonight and that’s exactly what’s gonna happen!} {We then cut to footage of Randy Savage and Barry Windham signing the contract for the IC Title match tonight. We see both men look at one another with a fierceness unmatched in the sport. Both comment on how this is the biggest match of their careers. How this match will be seen by more people than any event before. How this will be the last time they meet for the title and there must be a winner!} Vince: Welcome everyone to the MAIN EVENT III! What a night we have in store for our fans right here in Cleveland, Ohio in the Convention Center and Jesse Ventura… I guess you could say that this will be the final time that Randy Savage and Barry Windham meet for the Intercontinental Championship! Jesse: That’s right McMahon and don’t forget this… Windham has beaten Savage twice this year… Savage has beaten Windham twice this year… this is the big one… for all the marbles… there must be a winner! Vince: I think everyone is looking forward to that event and of course the big six-man tag team encounter with the Horsemen taking on a dream team of sorts with Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and Tito Santana! Jesse: You call it a dream team well you must be dreaming McMahon. Those three have never teamed together. They are not a unit. They can’t trust one another. The Horsemen breathe as one… they fight as one… and don’t you forget… they are all champions! Vince: That may very well be true but they are up against one of the greatest forces ever assembled… right now let’s go to the back where Mean Gene is standing by… Gene is standing by with Hogan, Andre, and Tito. They are all hyped up and ready and Hogan goes off… Hulk Hogan: Well you know something Mean Gene. Tonight’s the night dude. You are talking about millions of people all over the world tuning in for this one event man. Tonight Randy Savage is going to finish off that no good Barry Windham once and for all and tonight we turn the Horsemen into geldings dude! Let me lay it all on the line right now for everyone… Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard… know that tonight we are not taking any prisonoers. There’s no rules when you deal with mother nature and right now you are looking at the top of the food chain and we’re hungry brother. We’re hugnry for a victory and tonight we’re coming for it. Let’s go! Hogan and company leave the area and head right to the ring. The crowd just absolutely erupts when they come out and the fans are going wild! Jesse and Vince put it over in a big way and talk about how important this match is for these men and how it could really shape the future of both teams. We then cut to the back and here is Gene Okerlund once again but now he’s with the Horsemen. Arn and Tully run down Andre and Tito while Bobby adds that he is going to be with Windham to get him ready for his match. Ric Flair then jumps in and let’s the world know his intentions… Ric Flair: Wooooo! Cleveland… NBC… the Main Event III! Lemme tell the world something right now. Since I walked into this company, from day one, I told everyone that I was going to become World Champion and I did it. I told everyone these two men would be world tag team champions and they have done it. We told everyone we would dominate this sport and we’ve done it! Hogan! I told you I would run you out of this company and pal… tonight we do it! I am going to put you down and don’t think for a moment you will ever be able to recover from the beating we’re going to give you. This is NBC! This is bright lights! This is PRIME TIME daddy and WOOOO the Horsemen are here to style and profile and that’s what it’s gonna be and Hogan… you are the one who is going to pay for it all. WOOOOOO! The Horsemen leave and then come out to a good pop. They have some great heat and the women leading them to the ring makes it that much better. They just ooze confidence and with the titles it is hard to go against them. We get the eye to eye with Hogan and Flair and the crowd is going wild. The thing to remember is that this is the first time they have met in the ring… on television… for a match... SIX-MAN TAG Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, & Tito Santana vs Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, & Tully Blanchard w/ Angel and Sherri -This is an hour long broadcast and these guys go 18-minutes and the fans eat up every moment of it. We get a commercial break right in the middle but for television this is a fun visual. We see Tito Santana come in for the work rate and there may not be any better in the business at it then him. Andre comes in and shows off some real power that just gets the crowd going wild as they love to see him against the Horsemen. The Horsemen all exchange tags and Flair has got the most heat but Arn and Tully hold their own and with quick tags and double teams they control the pace. It is Hulk Hogan who blows the roof off the building when he comes in and just goes wild. He is nailing Flair, Arn, and Tully and sending them all over the place. The final drive for the match sees the Horsemen work over Tito Santana until it looks like he has nothing left before he makes the huge tag to Hogan. He comes in again but this time all hell breaks loose. Andre grabs Tully and Arn and they are fighting outside the ring. Flair ends up nailing Tito who falls into the ropes… when he turns around it is Flair and Hogan and the crowd explodes. These two trade blows for a couple of moments before out of the shadows comes Dr. D Dave Schultz! He runs down to the ring and just DESTROYS Tito Santana with a chair, splitting his head wide open! Hogan sees this and nails Flair and then goes after Dr. D. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Flair crawls over and puts his arm over Tito for the 3-count and the Horsemen win it! The crowd is shocked here as Arn and Tully escape from Andre enough to pull Flair out of the ring and drag him to the back. The Horsemen have won it, Dr. D has struck again, and we’re just getting started! *COMMERCIAL* ME3 returns with a promo from Ric Flair and the Horsemen as they are with Lord Alfred Hayes. They said that they didn’t see Dr. D Dave Schultz come out. They aren’t worried about him. They are worried about their victory. They say that the crown jewel will come in just a little while when Barry Windham puts an end to the Macho Man once and for all! We then cut to Mean Gene who is with Hulk Hogan and he is almost in tears screaming for Dr. D Dave Schultz. He says that he cost him the match and that he wants his revenge! Hogan says he is challenging him to a match next week on Prime Time and it will be an anything goes bounty match! He says that once he’s done with Dr. D… there will be nothing left in front of him to get to Ric Flair! We cut back to Lord Alfred who is with Barry Windham. He looks to be in amazing shape and says that tonight, he will win back his title and show the world why the Horsemen (four fingers) and number one (one finger). Tonight Randy Savage is going to fall in front of millions of people and there will no excuses… no rhyme… no reason… and no rematch! Mean Gene is joined by the Macho Man who says he has got to have eyes in the back of his head and knows that tonight it is all about the Intercontinental Championship! He is going to risk everything if he has to to keep the gold and raise his hand high in the air… yeah… then he says that Barry Windham may be his greatest opponent but at the end of every great battle there is a winner and a loser and tonight he will be the Macho Winner… DIG IT! *COMMERCIAL* Jesse and Vince are back pumping up the Main Event of the show here. They put over Dr. D and say he’s accepted the challenge of Hulk Hogan. That match will take place on October the 27th… it will be a special 90-minute episode of Prime Time with three big match including Andre the Giant and Tito Santana going after the tag team titles! We will find out more tomorrow night… right now it is time for the 5th and final meeting of these two… the IC title is on the line but so much more as well. Let’s head to the ring! INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Randy Savage © w/ Elizabeth vs Barry Windham w/ Bobby Heenan -This is it… the final showdown for these two… here we go! This one gets a 30-minute time limit and these guys go all the way to the limit right here on Prime Time television! Jesse and Vince are really putting this over and talk about how these two men are fighting for the IC title but say that both men could easily challenge for the world title. They go at a breakneck pace with Savage starting off hot but then Windham gaining control and slowing the pace. Savage builds it back up and takes the fight outside the ring and these two get dirty. Joey Marella is letting it go and the crowd loves it as does Jesse! They bring it back in and then we see Windham go for broke. We are at the 25-minute mark when we see a flurry of pinfalls but now it builds to the finish. We see Savage throwing some huge right hands but Windham, bloody nose and all, is coming back with rights and lefts and then we see a huge suplex by Windham and he says he is going to go for it! He is looking for the finish but Savage ducks a Lariat and Windham destroys Joey Marella! Savage comes back with a flurry and he goes up top and comes off with a huge double axe handle! Windham goes crashing down and Savage is struggling to get back up. Heenan is seen grabbing something out of his pocket and he hands it to Windham. Windham struggles back up to his feet… Savage is on top… another double axe handle but Windham with the knucks and he nails Savage right on the JAW! Savage collapses to the ground! Windham loses the knucks. Marella is still out. The referee says we are at the 28-minute mark. The next two minutes are key. Windham slowly gets up and he grabs Savage and hoists him up on the ropes but when he goes for the superplex he looks out...it’s Blackjack Mulligan! Mulligan looks up at his son… he’s got a tear in his eye… he shakes his head. Barry looks down and holds his head down…. 30-seconds! Savage then comes with a couple of huge rights and then and elbow and Windham goes flying! Savage goes up top… FLYING ELBOW DROP! Savage covers….We’re within 10 seconds… Marella comes over for the 1…..2…...3!!! SAVAGE HAS WON IT! The crowd is going wild here as Savage grabs the title and grabs Elizabeth. Heenan is outside the ring in tears. Blackjack has vanished. Jesse and Vince put this over in a huge way… Savage is the man of the hour right now… We’ll see you tomorrow night!

We see one point of view that shows Muta as the champ while the other points out Henig as the winner. We cut to Jesse and Gorilla who put it over in a big way. They talk about the TV Title and how right now Muta has the belt. Jesse says that possession is nine tenths of the law! Gorilla says that doesn’t count here and Curt Hennig is looking forward to his rematch with Muta. Tonight we’ve got three big tag team matches including a main event with the Rockers taking on the Russians.. Right now the Nasty Boys are in action! SD Jones & Jim Powers vs The Nasty Boys w/ Paul E Dangerously -A pretty good match for the Nasties who are just rugged and tough and all over the place. This one isn’t a clean match by any stretch of the word. We see the big sidewalk slam by Saggs and the middle rope elbow by Knobbs for the 3-count. We cut to the booth where Sting & Davey Boy have joined Gorilla and Jesse and they are cutting a promo on the Nasty Boys. They put them through the ringer and point out how this one is far, far from over! They vow to get revenge by any means and they will do whatever it takes to settle the score! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Jimmy Hart and company putting over how they are all deserving of a shot at the Intercontinental Title! They put over how Savage could fall at the hands of the Horsemen and if he does then it will be Barry Windham that they come after. Whomever has the belt better know that Jimmy Hart and company are coming and they are coming for GOLD! The Rougeau Brothers vs Jack Manson & Bunkhouse Buck The Rougeaus are out for another showcase and they have got some stiff competition. Jack Manson is someone we all know but instead of showing his face he’s got a weird mask on… almost like leatherface. He and Buck are all over the place and crazy in the ring but we see the Rougeaus can fight and they put up a big time fight and hit a double dropkick on Manson who goes over the top to the floor and then another on Buck for the 3-count! The Rougeaus are hot on the trail right now and they look great! Gorilla and Jesse are joined by Hillbilly Jim who cuts a promo saying he has got plans in the WWF to do some big things and he knows that he has to find a way to make his mark! Out of the back we see Dr. D Dave Schultz come out of nowhere and crack him with a Steel Chair! OH MY! Hillbilly is down! Dr. D grabs the microphone… Dr. D: Hogan! Hogan! This is your buddy! This is your friend! Hogan I don’t got no buddies! I don't got no friends! I am in this for the money and the money is what I am going to get when I take you out! Hogan, I ain’t got nowhere to run and nowhere to hide! I am right here Hogan! I am coming for you! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back and here comes the Horsemen. They are looking great and have some nice suits on but you can tell they have got business on their mind… Bobby Heenan puts over the issue with Hogan and Dr. D. He says that Schultz won’t get too many more chances to cash in on this bounty and if he doesn’t do it soon… he will have to pay Heenan to keep the Horsemen off of him! He then talks about Jack Tunney and how he had to really get after him to get the rematch for Windham. He says that it is win or lose, the last time these two men will wrestle for that title in 1986! He then puts over the big six-man at the Main Event. He says that the Horsemen are the marquee and their opponents are the ones at the bottom of the billing… just like they will be looking up at the lights when the Horsemen win! Tully & Arn put over the tag team division. They point out how they ended the Bulldogs. They all but retired the Rockers but tonight the Russians are going to do it for them. They put over the Harts but say they know Demolition will be back around before too long and that spells trouble for them! They say the Rougeaus are good for a cup of coffee but they’ll send them back over the border before too long! They talk about Tito Santana and say that they don’t think he has what it takes to find a partner and get it done and if he wants to try… just sign on the dotted line! Barry Windham puts over the issue with his father Blackjack Mulligan and Randy Savage. Windham says first and foremost that money comes before blood and before you get the money you get the gold. Savage has got the gold that belongs to Barry Windham and he will do whatever it takes to get it back. Savage, this is the last time we tango pal… but trust me… by the end of the night there will be no dance, there will be no celebration, it will simply be Barry Windham with the title around his waist right where it belongs! Mulligan… you have come around at the wrong time and if you’re not careful… you will find out what the Horsemen are all about. You’ll get a taste soon enough but know this… I am my own man now… I am not my father’s son… and in all seriousness… it is the best thing that’s ever happened to me! Ric Flair is live tonight and he is jumping around. He says he knows that Andre, Hogan, and Tito are here. He knows they can’t wait to get into the ring at the Main Event. He says this will be viewed by more people than any sporting event this year and he puts over how he is going to embarrass the three of them. He is going to dog them all. He goes on a tirad on Hogan saying that he will have nowhere to run and he will have nowhere to hide. He is going to be the one to pin Hulk Hogan and the whole world will see why he is the UNDISPUTED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Randy Savage who comes out to a huge pop! The crowd is going wild for him as he holds up the title and says that he knows what it takes to be a champion but he also knows what it takes to stay the champion! To keep this title he will face any and all comers. First its Barry Windham and then it’s the world! He puts over how this will be the biggest match of his career and in front of more people than any event in history. He shows up for the big ones and he’s going to drive this elbow right through the black heart of Barry Windham! MAIN EVENT The Rockers vs The Russians w/ Slick -This is a pretty fun mix of size and strength. We see all four men get involved and the Russians are more protected here. They are still monsters and made to seem that way with their actions. Just as the Rockers look to get going we see the One Man Gang come out and he tries to get their attention before Shawn Michaels jumps through the ropes and attacks him! That leads to the Russian Nightmare when Boris holds Jannetty and then Nikolai with the sickle to the back of the neck and the 3-count! The Russians aren’t done though as they continue to go to work and hammer down on these guys but here comes Hacksaw Duggan with the 2x4! He runs out and breaks up the brawl as Slick’s army backs off. *COMMERCIAL* PT finishes this week when Hogan, Andre, & Tito coming out and cutting big promos on the big six-man this weekend. They put over how the Main Event III will be the biggest event since WrestleMania and how they are going to show the world why they are the best and the Horsemen can’t hang. Hogan goes off on Ric Flair and says he is the one who can’t run. He is the one who can’t hide. He is the one who is going to have to pay the piper and when it is all said and done… you better know that Hulkamania is going run wild! THE MAIN EVENT III 10/19/86 INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Randy Savage © vs Barry Windham SIX-MAN TAG Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, & Tito Santana vs Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, & Tully Blanchard
  15. It is hard to go against Ted Dibiase right now... he is as hot as anyone and has got to have his eyes on the NWA title. Orndorff, Kerry, Kevin, Brody, and more all right there to make claim. Studd has got a huge target on his back!
  16. JCP moving out to Arizona... the national expansion is on but are they reaching... time will tell. Heck of a card though and a nice cage match to finish things off always puts over a big show. I would have probably found a way for Kerry to be the finish man here but with the cage stip, it is hard to work around. Interested to see about Bad News and Koloff... that is a fun little thing to get into with these two guys...
  17. Really liked the team of Luger and Bubdy for a visual. Hansen showing up for Dr Death is definitely an unexpected surprise. I like the direction UWF is going.
  18. You may want to check out Prime Time and MSG from 10/6 before reading this news... WWF NEWS -After a break in communication word is now coming out of the WWF at a rapid pace. The first piece of news is the acquisition of new talent from around the world. Perhaps the biggest being that of Jacques and Raymond… the Rougeau Brothers. With Lutte folding earlier last month, these two were tendering offers from major promotions but the WWF was able to come in and make a big play to sign them. There is also talk of the Road Warriors and Terry Funk being close to signing contracts with the WWF but with their Japanese commitments being paramount, there is no word on if those deals will be finalized. -Paul Heyman, aka Paul E Dangerously is another name that came over from Lutte. He is a former photographer for wrestling magazines which led to his angle at SNME. He is being paired with the Nasty Boys after having a “New York” connection. He is very loud and arrogant to the crowd but is said to be very much a sponge in the back working with Jimmy Hart and Bobby Heenan to get all the information he can. -Dr. D Dave Schultz is said to have gotten some heat for his issue with Hulk Hogan from SNME for “hitting him too hard” but Hogan was able to get things under control. This program isn’t said to be long term but if Dr. D can’t get under control it may be done before it even really gets started. -Andre the Giant returned to the WWF to have a big feud with Ric Flair. He is said to have some miles on the road that have been really hankering him with regards to injuries and his back. No word on how long he will be able to keep up this pace. -Right now Houston, Detroit, and Los Angeles are all in the running for WrestleMania III. The Astrodome, The Silverdome, and The LA Coliseum ae all up for grabs with LA being the favorite. The Marquee match everyone wants to see is Hogan and Flair which is likely where they will go… but how do they get there? The issue with Jack Tunney, Flair’s bounty on Hogan, and getting Hogan the title shot will all be prime pieces as they head into 1987. -The WWF is currently working with Bill Watts and UWF on a couple of loan deals to help Watts get the UWF going but don’t expect it to be too long. Watts took Vince in a couple of years ago but Vince then jumped ship and revived the WWF. There is aid to be a talking relationship but as both companies continue to grow… that relationship could sour if they find themselves in each other’s backyard. -The title win by Muta the other night in MSG really shook the crowd up. There is said to be a screwy finish to help create some buzz. The WWF is looking to go to Japan for a number of shows this month but nothing has been finalized with the JWA. With the JWA management up in the air those plans could fold. If so, expect Muta to be a big deal for those cards along with Flair, Hogan, and Andre. -Prime Time has become the full fledged A show with the WWF with Wrestling Challenge and Superstars not getting the same type of work over the last couple of weeks. That should change in the coming months with all three shows getting attention and All-American getting whatever is left.

Hulk Hogan defeated Dr. D Dave Schultz in a bloodbath! TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP The Great Muta defeated Curt Hennig in a very controversial match. Muta sprayed Mist in the eyes of Hennig and he ended up elbowing the referee and knocking him out. We ended up seeing Muta get the pinfall victory when a new referee ran down to make the pinfall. The first referee got up and he was saying there should have been a DQ. Muta and Fuji walked out with the gold as Hennig argued with the referee! SIX MAN TAG Blackjack Mulligan, Andre the Giant, & Tito Santana defeated Arn, Tully, & Barry Greg Valentine & The Honky Tonk Man defeated The Rockers Bret Hart defeated Don Muraco
  20. WWF Presents: Prime Time Wrestling 10/6 Hosted by Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from: Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid- Hudson Civic Center PT opens this week with some stills from SNME but we see video footage of that dastardly attack from Dr. D on Hulk Hogan. We see him lay out Hogan and get escorted back. We cut to Gorilla and Jesse who pumped up the full night of action headlned by Hacksaw Jim Duggan taking on Boris Zhukov and then a big main event with Tito Santana taking on Arn Anderson. They put over how there is a MSG card tonight in which some of the wrestlers are already there but tonight we will hear from the Nasty Boys plus Blackjack Mulligan. Right now we get to see the debut of a brand new tag team… Jacques and Raymond… the Rougeau Brothers! Jacques & Raymond the Rougeau Brothers vs Los Conquistadors -Jacques and Raymond look awesome in the ring here. With their arrival, the Canadian feel is big right now in the WWF and they look great. They hit a double dropkick for the finish but we just see a taste of what they can do. We then cut over to Gorilla and Jesse and they are joined by Paul E Dangerously & The Nasty Boys! Paul E comes out to cut a scathing promo on Sting and Davey Boy saying they are the first of many that will fall to the Nasty Boys. They didn’t grow up with the advantages of all these jock heads. They fought for everything they’ve got and they will continue to fight all the way to the top. Paul E gets some heat for the Nasties and gives them a voice to go with their fight! *COMMERCIAL* PT is back with Gorilla and Jesse pumping up our next contest with Hacksaw Duggan but they also put over the MSG card tonight. They highlight a big showdown with Hulk Hogan and Dr. D. Right now we have Blackjack Mulligan & Tito Santana join Gorilla and Jesse and they put over their feud with the Horsemen. Blackjack goes on record and says… that Barry Windham is his son… and he is so upset with how he acts and what he becomes. He goes on to say that he may have not taken him out o the woodshed enough as a kid but he knows that he can still do it now and he wants to let Windham know that he needs to get his act together or else the worse will happen. He says that Windham values money and titles more the pride and honor and that is going to come back to bite him more than it already has! He wants to get him back to the man he knows and he loves but the man he sees right now he doesn’t even recognize! Jim Duggan vs Boris Zhukov w/ Nikolai & Slick -A pretty good contest here for Duggan and Zhukov. Duggan just doesn’t have the backup right now as Zhukov and Nikolai are using the numbers game and Slick is out there causing more problems. We see a series of events lead to Nikolai pulling the rope down and Duggan going over the top to the floor. Dugan says something and then he grabs the 2x4 and he NAILS Nikolai! He jumps into the ring and he goes after Boris and nails him! We see the Russians go back up the aisle and Duggan is trying to make chase as they get a hold of him but out of the shadow…. THE ONE MAN GANG comes out and just destroys Duggan with the chain! They wrap the chain around Duggan’s throat and the Russians are pounding away! We see officials and agents try to help out and back this off. *COMMERCIAL* We’re back with PT and we see Gorilla and Jesse pumping up the angle with Duggan. He then comes over to the podium and he’s a bloody mess. He grabs the microphone and he just cuts a scathing promo on the Russians and Gang. He says he doesn’t fight with anyone else but he knows that this is a war! Duggan says he will never give up a fight and he will keep coming and Slick is going to have to kill him to get rid of him! Gorilla and Jesse put it over in a huge way and then pump up the main event… let’s head to the ring! Tito Santana vs Arn Anderson w/ Angel -A classic WCW Saturday Night style main event. These guys have 20-minutes and they do it all. Arn is a tag champion but shows that he could jump into the singles game at any point in time. Tito is now slouch either and he shows off some serious skills. Gorilla and Jesse put it over in a big way. The finish sees Anderson trying to put away Tito after working over the neck and the back but Tito starts to fire back. He is coming back with some big time shots and breaking loose. Wait a moment… we were told Tully was at MSG but he’s out here and he’s coming to attack Tito but here comes Mulligan and he pulls him back off! Mulligan nails Tully with a huge shot! Anderson is caught up with outside and here comes Tito with a backslide for the 1-2-3! Tito wins it and rolls out of the ring. Anderson can’t believe it as he and Tully are outraged. Angel doesn’t look so sweet as she screams. Tito and Mulligan with the win and they are on to MSG! We will see you over on the MSG network The MAIN EVENT III October 19th, 1986 INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Randy Savage © vs Barry Windham SIX-MAN TAG Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, & Tito Santana vs Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, & Tully Blanchard
  21. A full docket of JCP and I love it. I am interested in your take on how to run this big of a company in comparison to Lutte. Here you have a full schedule and a roster that all has needs and wants to get on television but also needs to be showcased on the house shows which ca prove to be a task. I think the first big blow is acknowledging what has gone on in the world of wrestling. It can be a tricky thing to put all of that information out but on the other end it explains so much about what is going on and why JCP is in the position it is in... especially with titles. I may have missed it but does Johnny V have the Fabulous Ones or the Fabulous Blondes as they were both referenced? I like the Greg Gagne debut... obviously that's a big story when it comes to everything that has been going on and what a way for him to debut. Now the house show... Snuka beats Kerry with Gary Hart involved... something could be stirring here... The big triangle match... Studd walks away... and he has JJ Dillon to thank? What kind of NWA Champion will he be? Where will Kerry fit into the mix? Then we see Studd in an NWA Championship match... he is successful but I think the story with JJ is still something we need clarification on. All the while we've got Orndorff with the MACW title and he is on top of a mountain but is it the same mountain as the NWA title... time will tell.
  22. WWF SNME XI 10/4 Tampa, FL - The Sundome Your hosts: Vince McMahon & Jesse Ventura Arn Anderson: Everyone talks about the World Tag Team titles and when they do they talk about the Horsemen because we’ve beat them all… everyone in our path. Tonight, Hogan and Savage… you both find out exactly what it means to dance with the devil in the pale moonlight! Tully Blanchard: That’s right because tonight, the lights of NBC are going to shine bright and that means the Horsemen will be at their finest. When we are at our worst, no one can touch us...but when we’re at our best… we’re untouchable! Bret Hart: Tonight I get a measure of revenge for my brother Owen Hart. Fuji… I know you’ve got tricks up your sleeve but I am going to make sure that I take Muta and send him back to where he came from by any means necessary! Mr. Fuji w/ Muta: Ahhh… tonight my Great Muta shows the world why he is number one and tonight we take the Hart right out him Bret Hart. HAHA! Curt Hennig w/ The Rockers: Tonight fellas… you step up into a big role and help me do something I should have done a long time ago… get rid of Jimmy Hart and his goons! Jimmy Hart w/ Valentine, Hercules, & Honky: Curt Hennig… you think those teenie boppers are going to stop us… we’ve got the power of Hercules, the strength of the Hammer… and then Honky is going to shake, rattle, and roll baby! Randy Savage: Freak out, freak out… this is it… OHHH YEAAAH!!! I have got one arm free with the IC title on my right and the tag title will be on my left. Horsemen… we have done it once and now we come to do it again! OHHH YEAAAHHHH! Hulk Hogan: That’s right Macho Man… I have never considered myself much of a tag team wrestler but tonight dude… I am in there with my main man and tonight we are going to show those Horsemen just how we do things and Ric Flair… don’t think we won’t be keeping any eye out for you… because if you come down to the ring… the Macho Man and Hulkamania will run WILD ON YOU!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzTlsMMHZnk Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to the Sundome in Tampa, Florida! I am Vince McMahon alongside Jesse the Body Ventura and tonight, we’ve got one of the biggest cards in the history of Saturday Night’s Main Event! Jesse: Don’t even think about it McMahon… I get top billing… I am going on record tonight… the Horsemen are going to reign supreme… Vince: They are going to have to do something special, that is for sure. Tonight we will also see six-man tag team action plus… the team of the man called Sting and Davey Boy taking on your friends… the Nasty Boys! Jesse: Haha… and trust me… there will be a BIG surprise for the team of Sting and Davey Boy tonight… they may have bitten off a little more than they can chew… HAHA Vince: Right now we get to see a special attraction with The Hitman Bret Hart taking on the Great Muta… let’s head to the ring! Bret Hart vs The Great Muta w/ Mr. Fuji -Jesse and Vince put over how Jack Tunney said only someone with a manager’s license could be outside the ring. Vince and Jesse put over how the winner of this match is going to get a television title shot on Monday Night in Madison Square Garden and Jesse says he would love to see either of these guys and Curt Hennig one on one. This one goes almost the full 15-minute time limit and they put on a show. We see some great chain wrestling from Bret and then some real speed from Muta. The big highlight was seeing Muta go for a moonsault off the top rope but Bret caught him for a tombstone but Muta flipped back over and hit his own Tombstone for the 3-count! Muta rolls out of the ring and the Hitman doesn’t seem to be in a good way here… *COMMERCIAL* SNME is back with Mean Gene standing by with the Hart Family… they are putting over their big six-man and Jimmy is saying that tonight Honky is going to play all the hits and Curt Hennig is going to have the Hart attack of a lifetime! SIX-MAN TAG Curt Hennig and the Rockers vs Greg Valentine, Hercules, & Honkytonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart -A definite upgrade with the Rockers getting involved here. This one is another longer match with about 12-minutes of air time. Jesse and Vince really pump it up with Hennig controlling a lot of the match while we see Valentine really control the heel side. Jimmy Hart is hooting and hollering outside the ring something awful before we see Hercules trying to put the full nelson on Marty but he kicks up and Shawn comes with a dropkick to the chest… Hercules rolls backwards into Hennig who grabs him for a school boy and the 3-count! Hennig and company get a big one! They work the crowd but Jimmy has to regroup his men! Valentine doesn’t look happy! Vince and Jesse put over the big six-man and talk about Hennig and his role as TV Champion… they put over his defense against the Great Muta coming up this week at MSG and what a spectacle that will be! The Tag Titles are on the line when we come back! *COMMERCIAL* We’re back with Jesse Ventura standing by with the Horsemen… Flair says that he and Barry will be watching closely and that if things get out of hand… the Horsemen will be right there to put things back in line! Heenan puts over how these titles have been defended all over the world and now tonight… the World gets to see the Horsemen put an end to Savage and Hogan! We then cut to Mean Gene who is with Savage and Hogan and they are juiced up to the gills. Elizabeth is there but Savage and Hogan tell her to stay in the back because things could get out of hand tonight and they will pull out all the stops to get the titles from the Horsemen and make four become two! WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs Arn & Tully © w/ Bobby Heenan -Perhaps the biggest match in the history of SNME… the titles are on the line and we see the crowd just going absolutely bonkers for this one. These four come out and put on a show. The Hrosemen sell and put Hogan and Savage over in a big way before slowing down the pace. This one goes about 15-minutes and gets a commercial break but when we come back the action is fast and furious. We see Randy Savage get worked over in a big way but then the big moment happens when he tags in Hulk Hogan for the save and the fans go absolutely apeshit! Hogan comes in with some big shots and clotheslines and boots! Hogan with a some slams and now Savage comes back in and it is all hell breaking loose. This brings out Flair and Windham as they come to the ring but out of the back we see Andre the Giant come out to a monster pop! He pulls Flair down and the Nature Boy is working this crowd like crazy! The referee is distracted as out of the crowd… OMG… it is Dr. D Dave Schultz! Schultz comes into the ring with a chair and just DESTROYS Hogan with it! The referee sees it and calls for the bell! Savage and Hogan win via DQ! Schultz nails Hogan a couple of times in the back before Savage nails him! Andre is in the ring as this one has broken loose. Schultz is escorted out by police. The Horsemen are up the aisle working the fans. Hogan is busted wide open. Jesse and Vince put this over in the biggest way… oh my! *COMMERCIAL* Jesse and Vince are back with SNME and they are putting over the night so far. They talk about our big contest coming up. They put over how we will hear from Hulk Hogan after our next match as we head to the ring… Sting & Davey Boy Smith vs The Nasty Boys -We see a pretty fun contest with Davey Boy carrying the match in terms of ability and star power. The Nasties are fast hitting and sloppy but fun to watch. Sting is so raw it is amazing to see him fly around with reckless regard. The finish is kind of messy as we see members of the press around ringside have to jump out of the way when Sting does his signature leap over the top rope and nails Saggs! Knobbs however comes out of nowhere and runs him into the steel rail. Just then on the other side of the ring a photographer is up on the apron and he breaks a camera over Davey Boy’s head! Knobbs comes into the ring and goes to the middle rope with a big elbow drop right on the throat and the cover for the 3-count! That photographer cost them the match… and now he is being taken to the back with the Nasty Boys… what the… who is that guy?!? *COMMERCIAL* SNME is back with Jesse and Vince putting over the big Main Event III coming up in a couple of weeks. Jesse puts over how he is going to interview that photographer on Monday Night for Prime Time! They send it back to Mean Gene who is with Hulk Hogan… Mean Gene: Hulk Hogan… we can see the bumps and bruises from that attack… when will this stop for you? Hulk Hogan: Well lemme tell you something Mean Gene… I don’t know if it will ever stop. The WWF isn’t big enough for myself and Ric Flair but he is the one holding all the cards right now. Well Ric Flair… I am going to try and pull a trump out of nowhere brother. You wanna put the bounty out on me… well brother you can raise it up to a million dollars because I am not going anywhere! Mean Gene: The Main Event III… you team with Andre the Giant and Tito Santana to take on Flair and the tag team champions… Hulk Hogan: Mean Gene I am not even worried about the Main Event brother… because when we get there, I am going to get my hands on slick Ric once again but it is not what I want… I want the world title brother… I want the shot… the rematch I was never granted. Jack Tunney… I am putting it all on the line and you are gonna have to answer dude… I wanna know when I get my chance at the atitle and just what I have to do to get it! Mean Gene: Fans there you have it… the Hulkster is looking for his chance at the world title but before that he gets his chance at the Main Event III… join us right here on NBC for that event on October the 19th!
  23. NWA LIVE from The Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Los Angeles September 29, 1995 NWA TAG CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT Round 1 Harlem Heat gets a bye Headbangers vs Bagwell/Riggs -A pretty fun opening contest of sorts here with two sides of the coin with the clubbers and the bangers. This is a pretty fast paced contest but in the end we see the clubbers of Bagwell and Riggs get the victory with the help of Alex Wright who comes out to dance and cause a distraction. Eddie/Benoit vs Hakushi/Landel -The comedy routine of Hakushi and Landel continues here with neither man being able to communicate with the other. We see some very good action with Hakushi in there but he isn’t enough for Eddie and Benoit who look great tonight and get the victory. Lazer Tron/Chris Jericho vs Candido/Storm -Another oddball pairing of Lazer Tron and Jericho who are about to go at one another at the drop of a dime but it is Candido and Storm who really look good here. They are a solid group who isolates Lazer Tron and when he goes for the big tag to Jericho the referee misses it and that gives Candido and Storm a chance to double up on Lazer Tron and a nasty crescent kick from Storm finishes Lazer Tron while Jericho is late for the save! Miracle Violence Connection w/ Ted Dibiase get a bye Smoking Guns vs Paul Orndorff/Mike Rotundo -The Guns come out blazing against two real veterans of the NWA here. The finish sees Orndorff cold cock Rotundo who can’t seem to get in the right spot and Billy Gunn comes out of nowhere with a standing legdrop (fame-asser) on Rotundo for the 3-count! Brad Armstrong/Bobby Eaton vs Pillman/Austin -Heat of the night goes to Austin and Pillman who have just taken the NWA by storm over recent weeks. They have led a crusade if you will against Dusty Rhodes and tonight is no different. We get some great action from Brad Armstrong and Bobby Eaton plays a great utility role and we see the match of the round but in the end it is a double team and a low blow on Eaton that ends things when Pillman rolls him up with a handful of tights. Ahmed/Simmons vs Psicosis/La Parka -Another mismatch in terms of the teams here. The strength of Ron Simmons and Ahmed Johnson just destroys these two lucha stars who try to keep things going but just can’t seem to get right. A spinebuster by Simmons on Psicosis spells the end and it looks like it shook the ring! Round 2 Bagwell/Riggs vs Harlem Heat -The luck of the clubbers runs out tonight when Harlem Heat gets on the scene. They look great and primed for the titles as they handle these two with ease and get the victory. Eddie/Benoit vs Candido/Storm -Perhaps the match of the second round here. We see them go 18 of the 20 minute time limit and it is full of suplexes and awesome tag team work. The finish sees Storm go for the crescent kick but Benoit ducks and nails him with a German Suplex and out of nowhere comes Eddie Guerrero with a frog splash for the 3-count! Miracle Violence Connection w/ Ted Dibiase vs The Smoking Guns -A pretty anticipated matchup. These two teams match up well on paper but the Guns need a some more work to get at their level. Mira Vio doesn’t come out here to play and Dibiase has got them primed. We see Billy Gunn run at Gordy who backdrops him over his back and the ropes but the referee misses it. Billy tries to argue but then Steve Williams comes out of nowhere with a nasty boot to the skull and then Gordy comes with a knee drop for the 3-count! Ahmed/Simmons vs Pillman/Austin -This one has a lot of heat. Pillman and Austin are pushing the limits here with the LA crowd and Ahmed and Simmons have got them by their side. We see a great 12-minute match and it looks like Pillman and Austin are going to get the win but out of nowhere comes Dustin Rhodes and he distracts Pillman enough for Ahmed to turn him around for a PEARL RIVER PLUNGE! 1...2….3!!! Bobby Eaton vs Hunter Helmsley w/ Kama -A simple showcase contest to keep things moving here. Hunter has got some nice heat and looks good in the ring. Kama is definitely a force outside the ring and we see him get involved a time or two. He is definitely someone who is in line for title contention when his time comes.. He finishes Eaton with the Pedigree and the 3-count. Semifinals Harlem Heat vs Eddie/Benoit -This one shows off the endurance of Eddie and Benoit who have already fought twice tonight and now go up against the number one seed of the tournament. This one has a 30-minute time limit and these guys go 15-minutes and we see two of the best teams in the tournament get pushed to the limit. The finish sees Stevie Ray use his power but it is the speed of Guerrero that leads to him being out of place and Benoit nails him with a nasty dropkick right to the jaw that puts him down and out. Booker T comes out of nowhere with an axe kick on Benoit but Eddie comes out over and grabs him for a hurricanrana with a roll up for the 1...2...3!! Miracle Violence Connection w/ Ted Dibiase vs Ahmed/Simmons -Talk about the beef… these teams have got it. They have Benoit and Eddie in front of them but right now we see a hard hitting match that goes about 12-minutes. We see some serious bombs thrown. The finish seems Hunter Helmsley comes out and that drags Ahmed out of the contest but then Simmons is doubled up by Gordy and Williams. They run at him but now we see Simmons backdrop Williams over the top rope and Charles Robinson has to call the DQ! Mira Vio moves on with Ted Dibiase celebrating... NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Dan Severn © vs Bam Bam Bigelow -A pretty big defense for Severn here as Bigelow is one of the top contenders for the NWA World Title in the tournament. Here we see both men go around 21-minutes. At moments it does drag but the action heats up when we see Sid come out with Dibiase. They are gloating and trying to get attention. Sid ends up grabbing Bigelow’s leg but Bam Bam is able to shake it off. Severn gets control but then Sid starts yelling at him. That all turns when Bam Bam gets control again and he goes up top… but this time instead of jumping on Severn he leaps and clotheslines Sid! We have got a brawl outside the ring! The bell is ringing and the crowd is going wild here as Severn comes out to join the fight. We’ve got a three-way brawl as officials and agents come out... Finals Eddie/Benoit vs Miracle Violence Connection w/ Ted Dibiase -The NWA World Tag Team Titles are on the line… these two teams don’t have a time limit… there are no dqs or countouts… there must be a winner! We see the best of both teams. We see Eddie and Benoit prove why they belong. We see them go blow for blow with Mira Viio but Williams and Gordy have some more experience together and their strength counteracts everything Benoit and Eddie bring… not to mention this is their 4th match of the night. At the 28-minute mark we see Benoit and Eddie in control but it all changes with a nasty foot to the head of Benoit. Meanwhile Gordy is put up on the top rope and seated for Eddie but Williams with a lariat out of nowhere! Williams picks up Eddie and gives him to Gordy who hits a powerbomb off the middle rope for the 3-count! We have NEW NWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!

We then hear from Dibiase who says he is going to bet everything on Gordy and Williams… they are the Miracle Violence Connection and in this tournament they are money in the bank! He then says that is should be Sid getting the shot at Dan Severn tomorrow night and he thinks Bam Bam Bigelow is nothing but second rate. He tried to change him and make him something special but Bigelow didn’t have what it took. He is a wasted opportunity and it is Sid who should get the shot. We have a lot of heat for these guys as we will be back with our main event… *COMMERCIAL* -We’re back with Sunny and Hudson really pumping up the tag title tournament and then the big main event tonight. They say we will still hear from Dustin Rhodes… but right now we have got action with Psicosis and Eddie Guerrero… MAIN EVENT Eddie Guerrero vs Psicosis -An instant classic with these two leaving everything out there for the fans tonight. We get some real lucha style love with a lot of spots and then they slow it down. Guerrero may be one of the best in the world right now. This one starts to break down when Psicosis takes Eddie outside the ring and throws him into the guardrail but a fans looks like they grab Guerrero… thats La Parka! La Parka is here and he is choking out Guerrero! He goes flying over the hood as they speed off… Rhodes is being helped by the officials… what in the hell is going on here?}
  25. I really like the finish of the 5-count match. Such great gimmick. Non-title main event only sets up the big one down the line. Pretty great card here with so many pieces in play. Lawler selling big will get the house hot for the return down the line...
