WWF on Tour May 1985
WWF Wrestling Challenge Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby The Brain Heenan in studio Matches from Brantford, Ontario, Canada – The Civic Centre Gino Hernandez & Chris Adams defeated SD Jones & Pez Whatley -A nice showcase for the tag team champions. We get an inset interview from Hernandez and Adams who gloat about being the Mexican and WWF Tag Champions and say they have signed a big match in Japan to win those titles and are going to show the world why they are simply the best! Nikita Koloff w/ Ivan Koloff defeated Jose Louis Rivera -Nikita rips off Rivera’s head with the Sickle. Ivan is pumping him up for the big SNME match against Hillbilly. He says there will be nothing left of him! The Fantastics vs The Faces of Fear -Some really fun tag team action here with the Fantastics and Faces of Fear. There is some real miscommunication between them and Heenan and it ends up costing them as Heenan is trying to shout instruction, Rogers and Fulton double dropkick Barb into Haku and they smash heads and then Fulton with the roll up for the 1…2….3!! The Fantastics continue their hot streak and get 3 more points! WWF EVENT CENTER TAG TEAM FESTIVAL The Machines vs The Hart Foundation w/ Jimmy Hart -The Hart Foundation won via count out to get 2 points – Jimmy Hart held Super’s leg outside the ring The British Bulldogs vs The Russians The Russians won via pinfall for 3 points The Fantastics vs the Faces of Fear w/ Bobby Heenan The Fantastics won via pinfall for 3 points The Killer Bees vs The Guerreros The Killer Bees won via pinfall for 3 points TAG FESTIVAL RESULTS The Machines - 15 points The Hart Foundation - 14 points The Fantastics – 12 points The Russians – 11 points The British Bulldogs – 9 points The Guerreros – 3 points The Killer Bees – 3 points The Faces of Fear – 0 points MAIN EVENT Chavo Guerrero vs Jay Youngblood -A solid main event that has been building for a while. We see Bass, Lanza, and Bart comes out to try and stir things up before we see Mando and Hector come out as well. There is some chaos outside the ring before the finish as Jay Youngblood is looking to chop Chavo right in the throat but out of the back… that is Mark Youngblood! He walks out with his head bandaged up from the fractured orbital bone… Jay is looking on before Chavo chops him in the back of the neck and then a back suplex for the 1…2….3! The Guerreros go out of the ring and walk past Mark who looks at Jay… this one is heating up and we are on the brink of a big meltdown! WWF LIVE FROM MONTREAL WILL BE AIRING SOON!

UNIVERSAL WRESTLING FEDERATION (UWF)
Very fun show with some spectacular finishes and happenings. It is just too bad David has died as he would be such a great attribute to any promotion and would be a special person to have right here in the UWF. Dusty as champ is the right direction but part of me wonders if it wasn't time to cash in on Idol and his Rougeu win and just put him over the top. I know with the WWF it is a babyface territory but it seems like down south, the heel champ and babyface chase is what the draw is. I am sure you will come up with something special for it and it will be great to see where it goes.

This exactly. Thank you Gene.

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
I just went through my roster and made some cuts down to 40 and it is difficult but doable. I think it will open up some people to move around and with the jobbers...those guys like Gene said could be used somewhere else. The biggest issue being that we are adding to the free agency pool but we aren't putting in someone who may drastically change a promotion but definitely putting some hands in who could help promotions. I think all of us could then look at our promotions and see if there are areas for us to give and take and reevaluate what we've got and what we can share. We would just have to keep hard on the 40 cap for wrestlers/managers without the jobber packs... you could still sign someone, like a Steve Lombardi to be your token jobber and be an enhancement type guy which could work. As of right now it would be hard for me to keep an SD Jones in this equation but it would definitely be a spot for him to put someone over... because remember... someone has to lose.

Exactly right... I apologize fellas. So cap will go to 49 June 1st... 50 on January first. You have the freedom to utilize the individuals on your roster however you would like. I would still like to have the conversation at some point about doing away with the jobber packs and just use fake names... it serves the same purpose but allows individuals in those packs to be utilized in other promotions rather than being jobbers. I think in doing this... we would definitely look to drop the cap down with it though. 40-45 is more than enough to work with and that frees up some people to be utilized in other ways by other people. I know I can make the change down the line if others can. This then allows for some different talent in free agency if we need to expand that if need be.

http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/32734-proposal-jobber-section/ I would be more than willing to do away with the jobber packs completely... lower the cap... then just use fake names for jobbers. It serves the same purpose at this point and it also helps to free people up for roster movement or new writers or expanding rosters or whatever the case may be.

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
Where is 60 coming from? The cap is 50... with managers, jobber packs, and wrestlers... are you trying to lump in jobber packs as part of the 60? If you want someone in a pack, ask for them? What do we need to do for more writers? No one has knocked on the door in a while and those who have (Gammas to Mexico, Gordi to Japan, and you) have all be given rosters. Do we need to lower the cap and give up talent? If we had an influx of people to join then we could definitely look at it. If the argument is that people won't even look, then I am sure there are ways to fix the windows to clear the picture. Tell me exactly what needs to happen to fix what you see is a problem and we will work towards fixing it. Passively arguing isn't going to get us where we as a group need to be.

I don't think there was a "point" to be got throughout all of this other than the game can change in an instant and people will be able to move freely throughout. In 1985 there was not this random group of talent not working. All of us have people in spots and I would encourage everyone, like I did, to take a look at their rosters and offer up some people for you. I know that is the frustration but these things can and will change. The CAP is a way to set a boundary to work within. It is not meant to be a load up on free agency type deal but more of a way to manage what you have the best way possible within the framework of the 50 or for anyone who only wants 10,20,30, or 40 spots.

The point is not to change a promotion, rather allow opportunity for growth within or around the specific individuals a promotion has, regardless of free agency. The cap is not what you have to have in terms of a number but rather the most that you can have. You have the freedom to utilize those 50 spots or even 20... depending on how you want. That is your choice. We will have the rookie draft in December for next year's fresh faces which will allow some growth. Again, not a huge opportunity but maybe 2-3 spots for some fresh young talent will work and then "older' talent may be freed up to come in as well. Again this is an organic game with change. People come and people go, we know this. There will be roster movement over the next 2-3 months. People will be freed up to move around.

Small proposal out there... With June 1st coming up... I would open the option for a 49th spot for your roster for a jobber pack, manager, or worker... then on January 1st we set the cap at 50. If we make it to 1987... then we can move the cap up. 50 is MORE than enough to move around with. What do you guys think? June 1st cap to 49 January 1st cap to 50 and it stays at 50 for all of 1986?

NWA Lutte Internationale Presents 2nd Annual Johnny Rougeau Memorial Cup
A couple of great days of action. Well written. Very good story. I have said it before, I don't buy Austin Idol... but that is what makes this a special event with a surprise finish. Very well done.

Dirt Sheets
The final matches for the last week of the WWF's Tag Team Festival go as follows.... TAG FESTIVAL The Killer Bees vs The Faces of Fear w/ Bobby Heenan The Fantastics vs The Guerreros The British Bulldogs vs The Hart Foundation w/ Jimmy Hart The Machines vs The Russians With the results currently... TAG FESTIVAL RESULTS The Machines - 15 points The Hart Foundation - 14 points The Fantastics – 12 points The Russians – 11 points The British Bulldogs – 9 points The Guerreros – 3 points The Killer Bees – 3 points The Faces of Fear – 0 points It is really a three team ball game. The Machines are in the lead right not but they have got a very tough match up with the Russians coming up. Nikita Koloff has been on a tear recently and doesn't look to be stopping anytime soon. Plus, there is talk of Nikita and Hogan down the line so this could be the catapult he needs towards that. On the other side you have got the Hart Foundation who just defeated the Machines (albeit a count out). That was the only defeat of the Machines thus far. Going into the final match, the Harts find themselves against known foes the British Bulldogs who will be a tough test. The outside shot to win it all would be the Fantastics. The big story here would be a one match sudden death. The good and bad would be that the Fantastics have to beat the Guerreros via pitfall. If they do, and the Machines lose, they would face off THAT NIGHT, with the winner winning the festival. If the Machines were to lose to the Russians, you know it would be a tough match and what kind of shape would they be in for a sudden death contest? The craziest of all would be the Machines losing, the Fantastics winning, and the Harts drawing with the Bulldogs. In this case, all three teams would have 15 points. There was talk of a three way match with these teams that could prove to be quite the spectacle. The big question left is the Faces of Fear... will they walk away with a win? They face the Killer Bees who have not had the best showing but are still on the scoreboard. This one is going to be about respect and I think the Faces of Fear are going to beat it out of these guys. The best part about all of this is that it is going to be televised from the Montreal Forum! The WWF has loaded the card with these four tag team matches and then a big six-man featuring Randy Savage, Tony Atlas, and Dino Bravo taking on Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake, and Jake Roberts. Also on the card will be a showcase match with Tito Santana taking on "King" Harley Race and then a WWF Championship match with Hulk Hogan taking on Big John Studd. Be sure to catch it all next week, in the forum and live in the local markets!

WWF On Tour April 1985
WWF Superstars Vince McMahon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from Hamburg, PA – The Fieldhouse Hector Guerrero & Mando Guerrero vs Ron Bass & Jay Youngblood -A feud that has been brewing for a while here with The Guerreros working well as a team but the freshly turned heel Jay Youngblood is making a name for himself. He and Ron Bass work well enough together but it is the outside interference that makes the biggest impact. We see Black Bart come down but Chavo is able to intercept before we have Jack Lanza out of nowhere nail Mando with a loaded glove! Youngblood then covers him for the 3 count but this one is far, far from over. Tito Santana defeated Johnny Rivera Jimmy Hart: Tito Santana, you can mark you calendar pal… next week right here on Superstars… Brutus the Barber Beefcake is going to be here to finish the job he started on your hair. Greg Valentine said he wouldn’t mind taking out one or both of your legs while he’s at it. You listen up good pally… next week marks the end of your career and there is nothing nor anyone who can help you! TAG FESTIVAL SHOWCASE The Machines vs The Faces of Fear w/ Bobby Heenan -We have been hearing about it and reading about it, but now you get to see what the Machines are all about. Another WrestleMania rematch in a sense but this time they are just balls to the wall demolition… pun intended… as they finish off the FoF with little to no issue and get the victory and the 3 points. TAG FESTIVAL The Machines vs The Faces of Fear w/ Bobby Heenan The Machines won via pinfall for 3 points The Killer Bees vs the Russians The Russians won via pinfall for 3 points The Guerreros vs The Hart Foundation The Hart Foundation won via pinfall for 3 points The British Bulldogs vs The Fantastics The Fantastics won via pinfall for 3 points TAG FESTIVAL RESULTS The Machines - 15 points The Hart Foundation - 12 points The British Bulldogs – 9 points The Fantastics – 9 points The Russians – 8 points The Guerreros – 3 points The Faces of Fear – 0 points The Killer Bees – 0 points Jake Roberts defeated Brady Boone Jake Roberts: Randy Savage a man’s vengeance is one thing but his vein is another. You have shown both sides of what many think is your greatest strength while I think it is your greatest weakness. I like weakness… because when this snake senses weakness… I just squeeze a little bit tighter until the breaths become a little bit harder to get and then… lights out. Dino Bravo vs ‘King’ Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan -A big time showcase even with Race and Bravo here as the crowd is white hot. These guys go about 12-minutes and both men are throwing some big time bombs. The final moments see a bullshit finish with Heenan trying to get involved, causing Harley to hit Bravo in the back with a knee taking him out of the ring to the floor. This allows Race to win via count out but this one isn’t over as Bravo pulls Race out of the ring and they fight up the aisle way!

WWF On Tour April 1985
WWF Wrestling Challenge Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby The Brain Heenan in studio Matches from Hamburg, PA – The Fieldhouse Chavo Guerrero vs Black Bart -Another pieces to this elongated feud as we get some nice singles action. Chavo is primed to be the man if you will out of the Guerrero clan and he handles Bart here but soon chaos ensues with Jay Youngblood, Ron Bass, Jack Lanza, Hector, and Mando Guerrero coming out to really shake things up. There is a feud a brewing and who knows when it will boil over. Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth vs Rick McGraw -Another showcase for Savage that ends up much as we would guess. He handles McGraw with ease and finishes him with the elbow drop for the 3-count. This time Savage leaves the ring with Elizabeth in there and is gloating all the way to the back. Gorilla and Bobby put this through the roof. TAG FESTIVAL SHOWCASE Houston, Texas – April 21, 1985 The Fantastics vs The Hart Foundation -A really great follow up match from their previous encounter at WrestleMania. These guys get 20-minutes and just go balls to the wall. It is the Anvil who is really the showcase here as he turns the tide for the Foundation. The big build back up from the Fantastics gives them the chance to even the odds. They come to the final minutes and anything could happen. The Anvil and Hitman set up Fulton for the Hart attack but when Bret hits the ropes Rogers comes out of nowhere with a dropkick sending him to the floor. The Anvil then gives Fulton a spinebuster and goes for the pin but the bell rings and this one ends in a 20-minute draw with both teams getting 1-point. WWF EVENT CENTER TAG FESTIVAL The Machines vs The Killer Bees -The Machines won via pinfall for 3 points The Russians vs The Faces of Fear w/ Bobby Heenan -The Russians won via count out after Nikita clotheslined Barb outside into the crowd for 2 points The Fantastics vs The Hart Foundation -The match went to a 20-minute draw for both teams getting 1 point The British Bulldogs vs The Guerreros The British Bulldogs get a pinfall victory for 3 points TAG FESTIVAL RESULTS The Machines - 12 points The Hart Foundation - 9 points The British Bulldogs – 9 points The Fantastics – 6 points The Russians – 5 points The Guerreros – 3 points The Faces of Fear – 0 points The Killer Bees – 0 points Nikita Koloff w/ Ivan defeated Brady Boone Ivan: My nephew Nikita is bigger… he is stronger… he is more dangerous than any man who walks the earth. My nephew Nikita has gold on his mind and he is coming. I have heard from the Kremlin and they want him to be the champion…

Like I said, just too many toes to step on over things. No reason we can't share cities w different arenas. I will keep with exactly what I have. If we make it to 86 we should revisit expansion ideas and see what we can do. In reality, I could just post shows and not the towns if it is really hindering someones experience.
-
1983 Project General Chatter Thread
Could you expand on this?
-
1983 Project General Chatter Thread
I think the easiest way to solve this is to stop my proposed expansions and keep with what I have going on currently. I won't interrupt new markets... I apologize for the confusion, upset feelings, and so on. Keep doing work.

Tell me which arenas/towns that are on that list that you don't want me to run and I will swap them. Not a big deal. I could honestly care less about towns, as you guys have seen I organize this in such a way to make sure I hit all the major markets I can on the loop. This was a process from my initial 4 week loop that went to 6 weeks that will jump to 8 weeks. If you feel this is going against what you're trying to do, again, tell me the cities/arenas that you don't think I should be running and I will change up my plans. Also... there are not 50 new towns on here... 22 cities were added that were outside of my home market but consistent with markets from the last expansion.- 1983 Project General Chatter Thread
