I didn't even know they still sold Golden Crisp cereal.

A recent trend in the US is baseball stadiums is gimmick menu items combining various foods into one giant food item. They all look horrendous. I think it's kinda weird that Bryan is cutting a promo on a food item but he's so good at it I don't really care.

They're pushing on the pre-show that since Truth and Carmella won the Mixed Match Challenge, they get the 30th spot in each rumble. The setup looks great. I saw on Twitter that the entrances are coming out of the dugouts, which was always a great look on Puerto Rico baseball stadium shows.
  4. Not UFC, but the former Jack Swagger fought some guy on Bellator tonight. His entrance featured the "We The People" gimmick, and oddly, R-Truth rapping him to the cage. EDIT: here's the entrance, in all its wacky glory.
  5. I don't watch NXT regularly so I was unaware that Ciampa has stolen Stevie Ray's WCW/nWo Revenge finisher. That's a deep pull, I'm impressed.
  6. This match is certainly long.
  7. I like both of these guys, but Jesus, not everything has to be a counter to something. Also, let's never again do a reverse rana on the outside.
  8. Man, Brock did not seem particularly interested in catch Finn on that dive.
  9. I saw this, and it boggles the mind that anyone would want that dork laying out matches and/or coming up with angles/promos/etc.
  10. Why did Mandy need a photographer to jump out of the bathroom and take photos of her and Jimmy when a cameraman was in the room with them? I guess when they're not in the arena, the camera isn't there? Or something.
  11. John Cena: Hall of Fame team player. Different day and age of course, but there's probably no other star on his level who's jobbed more than him.
  12. What the hell was that at the end of the Bliss/Heyman segment?
  13. Vince was so happy talking about all that "beef" in the ring. It's good to see a guy who's been in the game as long as he has still take obvious joy in his work.
  14. It's always good to have Cena back and giving a money promo. Even if his new hairdo makes him look like a non-contemptible version of JBL. I had always thought that Cena was 6-3 or so, but after I saw Drew towering over him I checked his height and he's 6-1?

Amazing how both threads on this promotion, which has held exactly one press conference, have gone off the rails. Great stuff!

Local Jacksonville media guy tweets: So who knows what exactly that means, but maybe it's a good first step.
  17. That was a wonderful video. I skipped through Hogan's bits - Hogan is the obvious person to honor Gene, but his whole act, with the music and such was a little too much for me.
  18. He's going full midwestern white trash with his look now - that thin gold chain, black jeans, and now the wallet chain. Ratings are going to get smoked by Alabama-Clemson but that was a fun start to the show.
  19. "pfft. Like he'd actually tell the truth."
  20. I was so shook by Dave's sweater I didn't even notice the jacket he's holding. Jim Valley has a better photo of it:
  21. I'm reading Guy Evans' Nitro book now (though I suppose this means I'm a typical PWO-ite, living in the past), and there's a chapter about WCW's internet ventures. Gene isn't interviewed, but he is mentioned specifically by the internet producers as one of the old school guys who got on board with the live chats and such. Once he got on board, his opinion mattered quite a bit and many of the bigger stars started embracing the whole thing. Interesting stuff I've never heard before.
  22. Great point, didn't even think of that. And yeah, since it's the only G1 show in the US, I imagine there will be a ton of fly-ins
  23. Running the American Airlines Center is really ambitious. WWE can't fill it for Raw or Smackdown, or the last couple of PPVs, and they've moved to a smaller building for house shows. OTOH, I don't watch New Japan, so am I allowed to comment on this issue? Other threads have me a bit confused...
  24. Presented without comment:
  25. This is one of the few communities on the internet that isn't full of "Elite" fanboys, so I would expect enthusiasm to be muted.
