DISC 4
Only wanted to add here that while the last two matches weren't classics by any means, they were tons of fun and I loved the camera angle on them. Being so close to the ring, I could see how physical these guys actually are, and the handheld allowed the crowd noise to come through. Those two things don't always come through on the regular broadcast matches of the lucha I've seen.

Dave Meltzer stuff
So Dave reports LU results like he does every other wrestling company he's ever covered, but it's part of his single-minded vendetta against Matt Striker and LU in general? You said yourself there's plenty of stuff to rip Dave on lately, so this is strange.

Wrestling With The Past: Greatest Wrestler Ever with Charles & Childs!
Just an amazing display of stamina from you guys, and a good listen besides. HOWEVER, damn you Loss for getting the Charles In Charge theme song stuck in my head for a week.

WWN Live-Evolve, I-ppv's
Haven't seen any Evolve before this weekend, but I'm a confirmed fan now. 58 and 59 were great shows, and the supershow was pretty fun too, if a bit too long. I was super impressed with Matt Riddle - for a dude with like 10-15 matches ever he's amazing, not just with the athletic stuff but also his selling was really good too. The only disappointment was Timothy Thatcher. His work was technically really good but for whatever reason it didn't connect with the live crowd in the way that Hero, Ricochet, TJP, ZSJ, and Ospreay did. Anyway, tons of great matches and I'll definitely order the next show.

WrestleMania Weekend: What Shows are you Watching?
If my friends' flights get in on time, I'm going to try to make this lucha show on Friday night in Fort Worth: (Thanks to KrisZ for posting in his lucha report.) We'll also be going to Kaiju Big Battel on Friday, and on the Evolve show on Saturday afternoon and the WWN supershow on Saturday night.

WWE Network... It's Here
I'd love to see an Anthony Bourdain-style travel show starring Brock. Except every episode ends with Brock giving an F-5 to his local guide and immediately going to the airport and back to Minnesota.

[1982-10-18-CWA-Mid-South Coliseum] Nick Bockwinkel vs Jerry Lawler
Watching Bock is always a treat. A nice, long slow-building match with some great spots - my favorite is Bock lying on the apron to the outside, and King gets onto the floor and does a running punch, knocking the hell out of Bock. Then he did it again! Lack of heat I felt may have been due to the WWE mix - Lance seemed very loud, and the crowd much less so then on the usual tapes.

What's going on with Daniel Bryan? :(
Maybe he just wanted the time off?

Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker Lawsuit
I couldn't find anything in a quick scan of p. 219 in that document you linked, but there's a text exchange that came out between Bubba and Hogan in which Hogan is pissed at Bubba for not knowing this was filmed, and Bubba seems to confirm. I'd link but alas, I can't find it. (Not to put Bix on blast here, but he mentioned it on BTS this week and I'm pretty sure he tweeted it last week.)

Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker Lawsuit
Who says Hogan's sex life is "legit news"? The way I understand Gawker's argument, it's because Hogan was on Bubba's show a bunch and Stern's show talking about it. And since he's brought his sex life into the public sphere, it's "legit news" Though I'm certainly no legal expert, so anyone, please correct me if I've gotten this wrong.

WWE TV March 21 to March 27
As much as I and everyone else here loves New Day, their segment was just brutally bad. It may have just went too long, but babyface New Day isn't off to a good start. The match was fine, of course.

Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker Lawsuit
The jury just came down with punitive damages for Gawker - $25m, including $10m from Nick Denton personally, and $100k from AJ Daulerio. I'm certainly no legal expert, but everything I've read seems to indicate that the verdict is questionable at best. Even if it survives on appeal, the judgement will probably be reduced dramatically.

[1981-12-13-AJPW-Real World Tag League] Dory & Terry Funk vs Bruiser Brody & Jimmy Snuka
Well I had never seen this before and holy hell it's awesome. The match itself is pretty good (I'm pretty new to Brody so his quirks haven't started to bother me) but the Hansen angle pushes it over the top. The brawl at the end is amazing as well - loved seeing a fired-up Jumbo and Baba making the save for Dory.

[1980-12-11-AJPW-Real World Tag League] Nick Bockwinkel vs Billy Robinson
The first disc of the AJ set has been a bit of a slog for me. The late 80s-early 90s grumpy Jumbo is my favorite of all time, but the bland boring Jumbo on display was just not connecting. This was the first match that (IMO, obviously) felt like it had some personality in the work, like I could determine these guys' characters from watching them wrestle. I wish I had more time/energy/attention span for the GWE - Bock and Robinson would definitely be two guys I'd like to do a deep dive on.

Room 101 - Wrestlers and Personalities
I'll nominate Brother Love. I have no opinion about Bruce Prichard himself, but that character is just the absolute worst. I get what it's supposed to parody, but goddamn that voice and makeup is just makes my skin crawl. Why they felt the need to give him so much TV time in the late 80s-early 90s I have no idea.

*sigh* If I didn't have friends coming into town, I sure wouldn't be going.

Wrestling's most shameless, most glorious exaggerations
Interestingly, the @WWEArchivist twitter account posted a photo of Harley Race bodyslamming Andre a few months ago. For a WWE employee to post something like that is a breach of the few kayfabe lines they have left.

Yes! That's a great one.
