  1. Just came up with some good ideas today to resurrect this thread: Rick Rude or Terry Funk (on a side note, i'm kind of surprised they never faced each other)? Alastair Black or James Storm? Kurt Angle or Ted Dibiase? Owen Hart or Genricho Tenryu?

Much like Sunday Night Heat did. Great when it started up till Mania 15 then just no angles happened on the show. I think Heat had some KOTR qualifying matches in 1999 and 2000, but yeah, the show basically became filler. OTOH, I was a big fan of the "b-team" shows like Jakked and Worldwide, so I still watched Heat pretty loyally.

Has Dunn ever appeared on tv? Even for documentaries?

I suppose Jericho will be inducting him (he was legit friends with Rock, and it does make sense).
  5. Maybe they're saving it for an Undertaker unreleased set?
  6. Sadly, Buckshot LeFongue (who had lots of full episodes of shows) has gotten suspended from youtube (though he was pushing his luck anyway by posting recent sporting events mixed in with the wrestling shows).

Confused about World Tour 1992 advertising a High Energy/Beverly Brothers match. I've seen that video and such a match doesnt exist on it (unless it's a different version of the video).

At least 10 of the upcoming Videos have been revealed: http://www.wwe.com/wwe-network-2018-collections Looks kinda "eh", though Invasion of the Bodyslammers does have a Flair vs Perfect dark match that should be ok, and I liked Brains Behind the Brawn as a kid for some reason.
  9. I dont have HBO so hopefully this winds up on dvd or the network.
  10. I like how there are "jbl" speakers. Of course, this isnt the first time Toyota and the WWF/E have met:

I will say this about the show, it was refreshing having a show where most of the faces won (the only heel victories were Alexa and Enzo), considering how most shows lately have had heels dominating.
  12. Kurt Angle or Johnny B Badd? Rick Steiner or Chavo Guerrero Jr? Jeff Hardy or Kerry Von Erich? Rick Rude or Samoa Joe?

On a happier note, maybe this means we'll see the entirety of WCCW uploaded (maybe they'll even add some more USWA Texas while they're at it).
  14. The Savage set will likely have the Savage/Taker match.
  15. He never really cared much for the shots taken at the WWF either. I was watching the Alundra Blayze doc last night, and when they played the scene of her dropping the WWF Women's belt into the trashcan, Heenan has a look of shock at first, but it later goes into more of a look of "why are we even doing this?". Heenan also pointed out in his book that the Billionaire Ted skits helped WCW win the ratings (since it reminded fans where Hogan and Savage were), so he wasnt a fan of either side doing this.
  16. On a side note, I wonder why several of the matches have name graphics during the introductions, if they were never meant to air on tv.
  17. I bet some of the matches originally had commentary, but not they type you're thinking of. Back when Landy had his youtube channel, he posted a godwinns/headbangers dark match from Shotgun, but the commentary was just Vince talking to the other commentators about technical issues and the like. The commentary on these dark matches was probably similar. Obviously they couldnt put that on a dvd, so they likely deleted that "commentary".

There was a lot of good stuff on Heat. The Hardy Boys had some fun matches on there (this was before they got the big push in 1999), and much like Jakked, it gave the lower midcard (essa rios, Kaientai, Crash, Headbangers, Blackman, etc) a chance to shine. Thunder by comparison just seemed boring, though I am looking forward to the episode where Nash did commentary.
  19. So anyone with a magnifying glass and several hours to kill willing to ID everyone in that collage fly posted?
  20. JRH replied to goodhelmet's topic in WWE
Not sure, but one interesting note on Heat is that several episodes were only shown overseas (the ones done on PPV weekends, US viewers got essentially a ppv preview show). I wonder if we'll get those episodes.
  21. "Simply Ravishing" was my personal fav:

Getting back to the WCCW ownership thing, I've now heard that they DO own the rights to WCCW from 88-89. Maybe we'll actually get to see the entire run after all (if anything, having the rookie year of Austin and some of Foley's earliest work could possibly interest some curious fans).

Marvel even ended up taking a shot at the whole deal by having a one-shot story in Marvel Comics Presents where The Incredible Hulk (in his gray "Mr. Fixit" period) beat up a wrestler calling himself "Hulk" (and yes, it was a Hogan lookalike of course).

According to the Edge and Christian podcast we wont be getting a second season of the E&C show. WWE isnt willing to pay the money needed to produce it, and E&C's schedules are too hectic, so no season 2 probably.

Also, I wonder if they'll eventually get the rights to the 1988-89 WCCW footage.
