Dave Meltzer stuff
I am not really interested in his news items or his match reviews. However I do have his Tributes book and it is awesome.

Triplemania XXVII Tonight!
I feel asleep during the Young Bucks match but watched the last part of the main event (from the part with the hammer and afterward) and thought it was sick in an amazing wow. So much blood! I thought it was scary in the women's TLC match when Tessa threw that girl from the top turn buckle to the floor because it looked like she was supposed to land on the ladder. Anybody know if that was the case? Was she seriously hurt?

WWE TV 07/29 - 08/04 Hey whatever this country is broken
Actually, Jason Statham is Deckard Shaw, the brother of Owen Shaw. Luke Evans is the actor who played Owen Shaw, the villain from Fast & Furious 6. (Which makes the title of Hobbs and Shaw confusing if there are 2 characters with the last name Shaw in the franchise). It would be interesting if the actor who played Owen Shaw in FF6 was the one who attacked Roman though out of petty jealousy that Roman got to be in the new movie and his character (Owen Shaw) did not.

WWE TV 07/29 - 08/04 Hey whatever this country is broken
I like the Becky Lynch/Nikki Cross match from Raw. It was short, but I liked how it was different from a typical Raw match building off the storyline heading into it of Nikki just wanting to get her frustrations out on Becky quickly. I also liked the post match with Alexa attacking Becky and then Natalya coming in with the sharpshooter. It does beg the question about why did Alexa fake an injury when she lost the match for no reason instead of trying to beat Becky through cheating or something. Or if she didn't want to continue the match, why not just walk away and lose by count out. It was a bit of an illogical segment, but I liked it overall because the match was wrestled differently from the normal Raw matches.

WWE TV 07/22 - 07/28 RAW Reunion! Candice Michelle is back!!!
I actually enjoyed Smackville. It wasn't groundbreaking or anything, but it was a fun hour of WWE style wrestling. Actually, I thought watching it that this kind of show would be a better format for the weekly TV than Raw or Smackdown. First, it's only an hour, if you added commercials it would probably be like 90 minutes. It doesn't feel bloated with all the crap that is on TV. Just some matches and some promos. It only featured 3 matches and 7 guys in total. I feel like it they didn't have to feature like 20 guys each night the show would feel better. I really think they could alternate between what belts or what wrestlers are featured each week. Like this show was the IC and the WWE titles. Next week could be maybe the Tag Team and the Women's belts. It would really help guys like Baron Corbin or Elias feel less stale if they were not on TV every week, and it would help to see some of the roster who may not be seen on TV other than Main Event right now if they were able to cycle in and out of TV so they could wrestle maybe once a month or so on the main show. I will admit I did skip over the Elias part until Kevin Owens showed up as I am finding Elias a little blah right now. Also the Nakamura match felt a little sloppy or like the timing was off or something.

[1994-02-05-ECW-The Night The Line Was Crossed] Shane Douglas and Terry Funk
I thought this was really cool. I am watching the WWE Network version of the entire show. It's kind of funny that here they bleep out the swear words from Shane Douglas, but during the actual match when Terry Funk stole the commentary headset they didn't bleep out his swearing. I wonder if the press conference and the match in the WWE version are pasted together from two different sources because of the quality issues during parts of the footage. Also I wonder since they call it a press conference if there were actually reporters or photographers there from different magazines or newsletters. With WWF I would assume anytime they have some kind of press conference it would be phoney, but I wonder if ECW would have wanted actual exposure. Also, Terry Funk is a big star in Japan and Japanese wrestling magazines I believe were still big in the 90s so I wonder if a Japanese photographer might have been there to capture it.

[1994-02-05-ECW-The Night The Line Was Crossed] Shane Douglas vs Terry Funk vs Sabu
Wow this match was so long. I guess because they wanted a time limit draw, but this match would have been so much better at like half the length or even less. It just keeps feeling like it will never end.

How much wrestling was on TV when *you* were a kid?
I mainly watched WWF Superstars on an American station, which I think was the Detroit CBS Affiliate. This would have been in the early 90's. It came on Saturday mornings at either 10 or 11 AM Eastern, which was an hour later in my local time. However, on weekends that I really was into wrestling, I would also watch WWF Maple Leaf Wrestling and WWF Calvacade of Wrestling later in the afternnoon or evening on a Canadian station. I really don't remember the station since I didn't watch them much since they mostly rehashed angles from Superstars. I think this may have been after they stopped recording exclusive matches for Maple Leaf Wrestling. Thread Killer did you ever watch WWF Calvacade of Wrestling? I think they may have also had matches from WWF Wrestling Challenge on one or both of those shows. Also, sometimes I even saw another show that I forget the name of which was generally just the same Superstars and Challenge matches and angles that I had already seen on the other shows and came on at a weird time. When my parents started ordering the Canadian version of the Disney Channel (which was technically called the Family Channel even though it showed Disney channel programming) it included TBS for free so at some point I was able to watch WCW as well, but didn't really like it at the time so didn't watch it.

Does anyone know what magazine issue this is?
Man do I miss seeing wrestling magazines on the rack. Can you imagine going through the magazine rack at a local bookstore today and seeing THAT? It would be so awesome. I think PWI still is running but it is so tame. I bought an issue a few years ago and it was so uninsteresting.

WWE TV 7/1 - 7/7 The Return of the Return of Heyman and Bischoff
It was cool seeing Heavy Machinery in the main event of Smackdown and the audience cheering for their win. There have been so many NXT call ups in the last year I was sure they got lost in the shuffle, and they deserve a chance at least to try to get over.

WWE TV 7/1 - 7/7 The Return of the Return of Heyman and Bischoff
I don't see New Day can't be less of a tag team and more of a stable of single wrestlers. Big E could have his own feuds and storylines and promos but still wear the gear and still team with or have group promos with the other members on tv a couple of times a month. Especially if the Brand Split is over and they are on both shows now.

WWE TV 7/1 - 7/7 The Return of the Return of Heyman and Bischoff
I would like to point out that Michael Cole is not on Smackdown and it still isn't good.

WWE TV 7/1 - 7/7 The Return of the Return of Heyman and Bischoff
I heard part of Eric Bischoff's new duties involves wiping Vince McMahon's ass after he shits all over the booking suggestions and promo ideas that the wrestler's bring to him.

WWE Stomping Grounds - NO BUYS~
Is that better or worse than have a PPV titled "Great Balls of Fire?"

WWE TV June 17th - 23rd 2019
It's weird, because I do like a lot of the wrestlers. It feels like the storylines never go anywhere and the promos never mean anything and the gimmicks are all bland. Kofi having the title almost feels more like a "We know The New Day are popular, but we have no idea what else to do with them so lets give one of them the title" then it feels like they have any actual plan for him. Almost all the feuds are based around the heel attacking the baby face. However, the heel usually attacks the babyface for no reason except to lead to a match on the next PPV, and once the feud is over and they both move on to other things, there is no sense as to what they were feuding about or that anything was resolved, and half the time unless there was a title on the line I don't even end up remembering who actually won the feud. Whether you win or lose, you seem to just move sideways on the card. When people move up the card to the main event it doesn't feel like its based on them winning their last few feuds, it is usually based on them winning some kind of multiman or gauntlet match on tv the week after the previous ppv. And when people move down the card on to the pre show, or dropping off main tv completely onto WWE Main Event, it doesn't feel like its based on them losing their last feud, it feels like its because the writers cant think of anything else for them to do. It is all so blah right now, and it doesnt help that some of my favorite guys, like Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, Cesaro, or the other 2 members of New Day feel like they are in limbo right now. Also, the brand split has been half dropped, so we are in that ugly grey area between having completely seperate brands, and when the titles are all reunited again, so there are way too many titles and it feels like most of them don't mean anything.

The Jim Cornette Experience
I like Cornette's road stories. I enjoy hearing him basically cut promos on burger restaurants. I find those sections entertaining.

WWE TV 6/3 - 6/9 NOBODY CARES, AEW IS COMING.
They should have brought back Great Balls of Fire instead.

MLW Fusion, anyone watching it?
When does Cornette finish with MLW? Is Schiavone going to come back at some point or is he done for good?

Jon Moxley on Talk is Jericho
I really like Renee as a host of like DVDs and little documentaries and things on the Network. Or when she did Talking Smack. They should do another show similar to Talking Smack and have her host that.

Money In The Bank 2019
My prediction for Game of Thrones is that the show fades to black, and then fades back in on Tony Soprano and his family sitting in the restaurant and Tony says "Sorry, I was just had a daydream about swords and dragons for a minute there."

WWE TV 04/29 - 05/05 Bolsonaro's strategy is worse than Jon Snow's
the problem was that eventually Vince decided Tito wasn't good enough, so he had to become El Matador. In spite of the money from Saudi Arabia and the Fox deal, I feel watching the show that they might be about to fall into another pit similar to the El Matado era of the mid 90's in terms of attendance.

WWE TV 04/22 - 04/26: Institutionalized Insanity
Is Cesaro still a heel? They could have had Cesaro as a transitional champion. I think they should not have Bray be a full time wrestler, and instead have him do an interview pipers pit style segment each week where he interviews people from the childrens tv show set.

I would love to see a Canadian tag team called the Argonaut Roughriders.

Post-Mania TV 2019
I only just saw it now, but the the 205 Live rematch between Buddy Murphy and Tony Neese I really enjoyed. It has some fun spots like when Murphy faked an injury then attacked Neese, or when Murphy threw Neese over the announce table earlier in the match and Neese echoed it and threw Murphy over the table later in the match.
