  1. 4 corners tag match for the UWF tag titles is going to be so much fun. I'm liking this Kendall/Honky Tonk program. Kendall is improving every week. Graham and Haku is really heating up, it's a classic old school powerhouse going up against the new monster. I love seeing Baba in this environment. It's so different which is why I love it. Magnum TA has become a huge star here and knows how to fire up this Mid South crowd. His feud with the Russians is money! You're Great American Bash card is going to be a huge draw.
  2. MACW @ WTBS Studios (Recorded 6-18-86) Aired 6-21-86 Schiavone: Hello again everybody and welcome to another edition of Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. My partner David Crockett is out of town on business. We have a great program lined up for tonight as we get closer to the Great American Bash. In action will be US tag team champs, Rocky Johnson and Wendell Cooley. Tony St. Clair, Rolling Thunder, Caspian Empire and Don Kernodle in 6 man action. Sam Houston will be in the ring. We haven't seen Sam since Starrcade. Harley Race will be wrestling. Also in the ring will be Austin Idol as he prepares for his NWA World Title match against Nikita Koloff on July 2nd at the Great American Bash. Tommy Rich will defend his Television title against Ken Timbs of the Fabulous Blondes. Bob Backlund takes on Brad Rheingans, in what should be a heated contest. And Mark Youngblood clashes with Blackjack Mulligan. And finally, we will be graced with a live appearance by the United States Champion, The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase. I would like to hear what he has to say in regards to that 3 on 1 attack last week on Hacksaw Duggan. That attack has kept Duggan out of action and who knows when he will be able to return. As a matter of fact I'm sure the only reason Dibiase is here today is because he knows Duggan isn't. Fans, lets go to the ring. Rolling Thunder vs. Tim Straw and Lou Simms Morales gets the fans going as he swings Straw to the ropes and back drops him. Straw rolls over and tags in Simms. Simms charges but Morales hip tosses him and follows with a running forearm smash, then tags in Huber. Huber swings Simms to the ropes and hits a Powerslam! Huber picks up Straw and Airplane spins him. Huber tags in Morales, who swings off the ropes and hits the Senton for the pin! The crowd cheers as Huber and Morales shake hands and hug. Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans, with me right now is Rip Oliver and Paul Jones. Paul, everybody has seen the friction lately between you and Rip Oliver. How will this affect Rip's upcoming match with Jimmy Valiant at the Great American Bash? Jones: Boy you just love to stir it up, don't you Schiavone! Well, we're going to get this straightened out right now. Listen Rip, I brought you in here to get rid of Jimmy Valiant. It's that simple. Now, I'm not sure what the problem is, but I need to know that you will finish the job on Valiant at the Great American Bash. How about it? Oliver: The problem is you Paul and your obsession with Jimmy Valiant. You promised me opportunity and title shots but your obsession with Valiant as derailed all that. Your obsession has cost me matches. Now, here's the deal. I will take care of Valiant at the Bash, but not with your help. I don't want you at ringside, got it. When I'm done with Valiant then I want a title shot. Jones is taken aback. He looks at his cane then looks at Oliver. Jones: If that's what it takes to get rid of that lowlife pest Valiant, then fine by me. Also, if you do finish off Valiant at the Bash, then I'll see to it you will get your title shot. Schiavone: Ok there you have it, a deal has been made. Lets go back to the ring. Tony St. Clair vs. Roger Murphy St. Clair snapmares Murphy, then jumps over him and hits a head snap and follows with a standing leg drop. St. Clair hits a suplex slam on Murphy then climbs up to the top turnbuckle. Murphy staggers up and St. Clair hits him with a flying body press for the pin! The fans cheer as St. Clair raises his fist to them. St. Clair cuts a promo and says him and Antonio Inoki are pulling nothing back when they collide with Abdullah and Singh at the Bash. Commercial Break US Tag Team Champs Rocky Johnson and Wendell Cooley vs. Larry O'Meara and Todd Rooney Johnson and Cooley look crisp with quick tags and solid teamwork. Johnson body slams Rooney and tags in Cooley. They swing Rooney to the ropes and double hip toss him then follow with a double drop kick. Cooley hoists Rooney up and hits the Oklahoma Roll then tags in Johnson, who puts Rooney in the Boston Crab for the victory! Johnson and Cooley are high fiving each other when all of a sudden, Los Infernales hit the ring with chairs!!! MS-1 nails Johnson from behind as Pirata Morgan nails Cooley. They drop the chairs. MS-1 body slams Johnson on a chair as Morgan does the same to Cooley. MS-1 gets up on the top turnbuckle and hits a flying knee on Johnson (laying on the chair) With Cooley laying on a chair, Morgan jumps off the top rope and drops a flying knee on Cooley. The fans are booing. Los Infernales go out and grab the US titles and hold them up to the booing crowd. Los Infernales take the titles with them as they leave! Schiavone: Oh my fans! I cant believe what I just witnessed! Los Infernales have just ambushed the US champs and now they have stolen the titles! Those two teams will meet at the Great American Bash, but it looks like Los Infernales showed up here to send a hurtful message. My goodness, Johnson and Cooley are being helped out by trainers. Fans, we'll be back. Commercial Break A video montage of wrestling highlights is shown of the tag team of Kerry Brown and Duke Myers, known as The Stampede Rush. Schiavone: As you just saw, Kerry Brown and Duke Myers, the Stampede Rush will be coming to Mid Atlantic very soon. That is one hard hitting tag team. I'm sure they plan on making an impact here. I just got word that Rocky Johnson and Wendell Cooley have been transported to the Hospital for observation. I'll keep you posted. Fans let's go to the ring for a featured bout. Bob Backlund vs. 'Professor' Brad Rheingans Backlund is still favoring the arm but that doesn't hold him back as he rams Brad's head several times on the turnbuckle. Brad staggers back and Backlund suplexes him back. Backlund picks him up and Atomic Drops him. Brad goes flying into the turnbuckles and staggers back. Once again, Backlund suplexes him back and covers 1..2..Brad barely gets his shoulder up. The fans are cheering Backlund on. Backlund reaches down but Brad grabs his tights and pulls Backlund forward and through the ropes. Brad clears the cobwebs. Backlund gets back up on the apron. Brad grabs his head and snaps it on the top rope. Brad pulls Bob up and walks him over to the turnbuckles then slams Backlund's hurt arm on it. Backlund is in pain as he falls down on the apron. Brad kicks Backlund off the apron. The fans let Brad have it. Brad goes to the outside. He grabs Backlund by his head and is going to ram him into the steel post but Backlund blocks it with his boot, elbows Brad several times, then lifts him up and Atomic Drops him into the steel post. Backlund slides back into the ring. The Ref counts to 10! Backlund wins the match by countout! Backlund favors the arm but holds the other one up in victory. Commercial Break Schiavone: What an intense match we just witnessed between Backlund and Rheingans. Speaking of those two, I want to announce that on June 29th, MACW returns to the Philadelphia Civic Center. Listen to these matches signed. In a special attraction bout, Bruiser Brody will clash with Akira Maeda. Polynesian Power take on the Southern Ramblers. In a 6 man tornado match, The Assassins and Cobra collide with Hot Property and Sweet Brown Sugar, and Bob Backlund will face Brad Rheingans. It should be a hard hitting night of action and a great prelude to the Great American Bash. June 29th in Philadelphia. The fans boo as Brad Rheingans storms to the podium, still reeling. Brad: Tony, you are well aware of my wrestling credentials. Because of my reputation and resume, each and every time I go into that ring, I honor my reputation by keeping things clean. I go in there and win a match on ability. I wish I could say the same thing about Bob Backlund but I honestly cant. You saw it. The man is a cheater and has a blatant disregard for the rules. Rules are something I take very seriously in wrestling. I now have no choice. I'm the Professor of wrestling and now I'm going to have to teach Bob Backlund a lesson. Bob, you and I have a match in Philadelphia on June 29th. I'm challenging you to a submission match! It's time somebody put an end to your cheating ways. Schiavone: I think Brad is a little delusional in calling Bob Backlund the cheater but the challenge has been made. Maybe a submission match is the only way to resolve this. Fans back to the ring. Canadian International Champ Don Kernodle/Caspian Empire vs. Clyde Putnam, Ken Jenkins, Dave Penson Sheik gut wrench suplexes Putnam over then tags in Smirnoff, who fly's off the top rope and crashes down with a knee drop. Smirnoff tags in Kernodle. Kernodle grabs Putnam and hits a swinging neckbreaker for the pin. Jenkins and Penson run in to check on their partner but are beat down by Kernodle and Caspian Empire. The fans boo as Kernodle and Caspian Empire raise up their arms in victory. They cut a promo saying that the Rougeaus wont be enough to help Kirchner. Kernodle says he's already beaten Jacques mentally and will be surprised if he even shows up at the Bash. He says he's already beaten Kirchner up so many times. he's lost count but wont pass up another chance to beat him up again. Sheik ends the promo saying Kernodle and Caspian Empire are number one. Commercial Break Harley Race vs. Jim Davidson Harley lifts Davidson up and holds him in a vertical suplex position then drops him back. Harley backs up and hits a diving headbutt. Harley picks up Davidson and drops him with a swinging neckbreaker. Harley yells at the camera "This one's for you Orndorff!" Harley hoists Davidson up and crashes him down with the piledriver for the pin! Schiavone: Strong message sent by Harley Race to Mid Atlantic champ Paul Orndorff. Those two will meet at the Great American Bash in a NO DQ match. As you saw in the Great American Bash update, this feud has become very heated and very personal. Fans, back to the ring as a former Television Champ is set for action. Sam Houston vs. Jay Jones Sam fires up the crowd with hip tosses and arm drags. He swings Jones to the ropes and back drops him. He picks Jones up and swings him hard into the turnbuckles. Sam clamps on a headlock then hits the Running Bulldog for the pin! The fans cheer as Sam heads to the podium. Schiavone: Great to have you back in a Mid Atlantic ring Sam. I understand you have something to say in regards to why you're here. Houston: Thank you Tony and it's great to be here. And yes, I do have a specific reason why I'm here. This weekend in Miami I will be going after King Kong Bundy and the 10,000 dollars. Now I know he's a heck of a lot bigger and stronger than me but I've been wrestling with those odds my entire career. I've never backed down from a challenge and I'm always looking for a challenge. This 10,000 dollar challenge is about as big as it gets and you better believe I'm up for it. The fans boo as JJ Dillon walks out with the briefcase. He looks over Sam Houston, smiles and shakes his head. JJ: Son, listen to me real closely because your career and quite possibly your life depends on it. A lot of powerful wrestling veterans have come in here to try and get this here 10, 000 dollars. They all went down in defeat. Not just defeated, but they were crushed, they were squashed and they were flattened by King Kong Bundy. Looking at you and knowing what's going to happen, well I just feel sorry for you kid. I mean it's just sad and downright pathetic. This wont be a match, it will be a beating. Please go home. You have a fighting spirit but that wont mean anything when King Kong Bundy hits the splash and breaks your weak ribs. Why don't you go back to school and get an education. JJ arrogantly smiles and ruffles Sam's hair. Sam pushes his hand away and pushes JJ down on the ground as the crowd cheers and laughs. Sam steps over JJ on his way out. JJ rolls over in pain, grimaces and adjusts his glasses. Schiavone looks down at JJ, smiles and goes to a commercial. Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans, I've received word that Bob Backlund has accepted Brad Rheingans submission match challenge on June 29th in Philly. Fans in Philadelphia wont want to miss that one. Back to the ring for another featured bout. Mark Youngblood vs. Blackjack Mulligan Mulligan attacks Mark as the bell rings. Mulligan hammers away. Mark gets fired up and blocks a punch and chops Mulligan. They have a vicious punch/chop exchange. Mark gets the upper hand and a big chop sends Mulligan through the ropes. The Ref gets to the count of 7 as Mulligan is yelling up at Mark. Mark goes to the ropes. Mulligan grabs his boots and pulls him to the outside. Mulligan punches away. Mark fires back. They have another punch/chop exchange on the outside. Mark hits a chop and rolls Mulligan back into the ring. Mulligan pulls something out of his tights. The Ref sees this and warns Mulligan and tells him to hand it over. Mulligan pushes the Ref out of the way. Mark heads towards Mulligan and Mulligan nails him with the foreign object, busting him open. The Ref signals for the Disqualification. Mulligan continues to stomp on Mark, then drops down and applies the Claw! Mulligan puts the pressure on Mark's bloody head until wrestlers from the back come out to break it up. Commercial Break Schiavone: This has been a crazy show tonight fans and I don't know what's gotten in to some of these wrestlers. I sure hope Mark Youngblood is ok. Back to the ring. 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol vs. Carl Hillman Idol looks sharp tonight as he tunes up for his NWA World Title Bout. Idol swings Hillman to the ropes and hits a back elbow smash followed by a jumping elbow drop. Idol swings Hillman to the turnbuckles and follows with a running clothesline. Idol picks up Hillman and drops him with a shin breaker. The fans cheer as Idol clamps on the Las Vegas Leglock. Hilllman submits and the Ref signals for the bell. Idol gives the fans a wink and bicep pose as they cheer. Idol cuts a promo and says he's more than ready for his golden opportunity and it's going to take a lot more than the Russian Sickle to put him down and out. Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans, I've been told Mark Youngblood will face Blackjack Mulligan on June 29th in Philly. Another great match added to the hard hitting card. Well fans lets go to the ring for the Television Title match. TV Title Bout Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich vs. Ken Timbs w/Rock Riddle The bell rings and Riddle is pointing and yelling at Rich. Timbs nails Rich from behind with a high knee. Timbs grabs the top rope and stomps down on Rich. Timbs picks up Rich and body slams him, then gets up on the 2nd turnbuckle and hits a knee drop and covers 1..2..Kick Out. Timbs argues with the Ref as Riddle reaches in and chokes Rich. Timbs picks Rich up and goes for a suplex but Rich blocks it and suplexes Timbs. The crowd cheers Rich on. Rich swings off the ropes and hits a fist drop. Rich hops up on the 2nd turnbuckle and hits a forearm drop. The fans boo as Tom Prichard comes to ringside. Rich is distracted and warns Prichard. Timbs comes up from behind and hits Rich with a forearm blast. Prichard gets up on the apron as Timbs distracts the Ref. Prichard grabs Rich and holds him. Timbs charges over with a high knee but Rich moves. Timbs hits Prichard and he fly's off the apron. Riddle gets up on the apron and Rich punches him off. Rich fires away on Timbs, swings him to the ropes and hits the Thesz Press 1..2..3!!! The fans go wild as Tommy Rich retains the TV title! Commercial Break Schiavone: Great title defense for Tommy Wildfire Rich. Well fans as promised, making a very special Televised appearance, please welcome out the United States Champion, The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase. The Fans stand up and boo as Ted Dibiase strolls out. He looks around the studio in disguised and shakes his head. Then he looks down at his US title and smiles. He unstraps the title and holds it up to the booing fans, then gives them a trademark laugh. WHAM!!!! Dibiase is nailed from behind by Hacksaw Duggan with a 2x4! The fans roar as Duggan holds up his 2x4. Duggan has a bandage on his head from last week's assault. Dibiase is holding his back and yelling in pain. Duggan reaches down and grabs Dibiase by his hair and slaps him across the face (returning the favor from last week) Duggan picks up the US title, gives the fans a smile then whacks Dibiase across the head with it, knocking him out! The fans boo as Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez storm out. Duggan grabs his 2x4 and threatens them with it. Officials and wrestlers come out to keep them apart. Rude and Fernandez are attending to Dibiase while yelling and threatening Duggan. Duggan lifts his 2x4 up high to the cheering crowd as the show ends.
  3. Colon has been cleared! Watch out Abdullah because I'm sure Colon will be a man focused on sheer revenge. Santana bringing in Leduc is a very smart move. Really enjoyed the Sports Shop and the history there. Good TV wins for the Caribbean Express and Tamba. Another fun main event with Owen pulling out a pin on Santana. This gives Owen some good momentum heading into the big event.
  4. Great way to start the show as Keith Hart gets a huge win over OMG. The Nightmares continue to impress in singles action. Andre is having a nice run here and has beaten a lot of top faces. I've always liked low/mid card feuds, so I've really enjoyed the Adias/Sunny feud. Mark Youngblood keeps his winning ways going. He's having a good run here and in MACW. Like Dawho mentioned, MS-1 has been on quite the roll lately. Great hard hitting main event that sends the fans home happy.
  5. MACW releases Jeff Sword and Doug Vines and picks up Duke Myers and Kerry Brown
  6. Heatstroke is stacked! One thing's for sure, Martel backs down from nobody. Him and Abdullah will be a great main event. MS-1 cashing in against Kernodle will be interesting. The Nightmares trickery continues. Kokina goes nuts and squashes both Madril and OMG! Great segment. Love the Japanese talent coming in. Poisson sends a strong message to Benoit and Lutte as well. I'm all for Fab Ones and SST.
  7. MACW Great American Bash 86 Update w/ Bob Caudle Bob Caudle: Hello again everybody and welcome to another Great American Bash update. Coming to you on July 2nd at the Memorial Stadium in Charlotte NC. Fans what a hot summer night of action it will be. A fireworks show will follow the event but there will sure be enough fireworks going on in the ring. A lot to talk about on this update and we're going to kick things off with pre recorded comments from the NWA World Heavyweight champion, the Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff. Nikita: (Belt on his shoulder) Austin Idol! You are nothing more than, ah what you Americans say? A sissy boy! You win match for a shot at my title. All you did was win a beating! I will celebrate you Americans Great American Bash by proving Russia is superior in every way. This sissy Austin Idol does not stand a chance against the Russian Nightmare. (Motions the sickle) I will take his head off with this! I will represent Mother Russia well by holding up my world title in victory. Caudle: Very strong words from the World Champ. Nikita Koloff has been on an unstoppable roll. Can The Universal Heartthrob put an end to the Russian Nightmare's reign of terror? We'll find out at the Great American Bash. Fans, I want to show you highlights from last week's edition of MACW Television as the show came to a close. Highlights are shown of Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez attacking Hacksaw Duggan. Then, United States Champ, Ted Dibiase comes out and joins in. He slaps Duggan several times while Rude and Fernandez hold Duggan. Dibiase then levels Duggan across the head with the US title belt. Caudle: I hope the US champ is proud of himself and that 3 on 1 attack. One thing is for sure, Dibiase will have no help as he will be locked inside a steel cage with Hacksaw Duggan at the Great American Bash. I understand Ted Dibiase will make a rare announced appearance on this week's edition of MACW. Switching gears to another feud that's been getting out of control. I want to show you highlights from a recent card in Greenville, SC and what went down between Corporal Kirchner and Don Kernodle. Highlights are shown of Kernodle interfering in a match between Kirchner and Smirnoff. Kernodle has his fist taped and busts Kirchner open with several fists to the head. Later on, a bandaged up Kirchner hits the ring with a taped fist and pounds away on Kernodle then hits the Fallaway Slam which allowed Jimmy Snuka to get the pinfall. Caudle: These two men have had a heated rivalry going on. Don Kernodle also has an enemy in Jacques Rougeau. So it seems Don Kernodle will be quite the target at the Bash when Kirchner and the Rougeau's collide with Kernodle and the Caspian Empire. The Caspian Empire have proven to be solid muscle for Kernodle but that might not be enough when the Rougeau brothers come to town. Another score that will hopefully be settled on July 2nd is between Paul Orndorff and Harley Race. Those two will collide in a NO DQ match for the Mid Atlantic Title. Fans, more highlights, this time from Norfolk and what went down between these two. Highlights are shown of the Orndorff/Idol vs. Race/Fuller bout. Officials are distracted with Idol and Fuller as Idol has Fuller in the Las Vegas Leglock out on the concrete. Tiger Jeet Singh runs in and nails Orndorff from behind with his sword. Race slides a chair into the ring and piledrives Orndorff on it! Caudle: Very graphic scene. Let's take you to pre recorded comments from both Harley Race and Paul Orndorff. Race: Nothing has felt better than piledriving Orndorff's head on that steel chair! Orndorff! That was just a sample of what you're going to get at the Great American Bash. No DQ! That means I can do whatever I want to do! And when it's all over, that Mid Atlantic Title is going back where it rightfully belongs...around my waist! Orndorff: (Brace around his neck) The only thing that was proven Harley Race, was that you couldn't get the job done by yourself! Now I have no idea why Tiger Jeet Singh had to interfere but rest assured Singh, I will not forget this and after I'm done with Race, you're next! Orndorff rips off his neck brace and throws it on the ground. Orndorff: Back to you Race! Come July 2nd, No DQ, that means nobody can stop what I'm going to unleash on you! I'm going to hurt you like I've never hurt anybody in my entire life! I wont be happy unless you're down and out. I guarantee you Race, you wont be walking out of there on your own! Caudle: Wow! Chilling words from both men. I'm genuinely concern for the safety of both men. July 2nd should be an incredible night of action and don't forget about the very special AWA showcase match as AWA World Champion, Ricky Steamboat defends his title against Jerry Blackwell in what should be an outstanding match up. Well fans, that's it for this week. I'll see you next week for our final Great American Bash update. Great American Bash 86, Charlotte NC Memorial Stadium 7-2-86 NWA World Heavyweight Title Bout 'The Russian Nightmare' Nikita Koloff © vs. 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol United States Title Bout- Steel Cage 'The Million Dollar Man' Ted Dibiase © vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan US Tag Team Title Bout Rocky Johnson and Wendell Cooley © vs. Los Infernales Mid Atlantic Title Bout- NO DQ 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff © vs. Harley Race NWA National Title Bout 'Superfly' Jimmy Snuka © vs. Haku w/ Skandor Akbar TV Title Bout Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich © vs. 'The Doctor of Desire' Tom Prichard w/ Rock Riddle 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes vs. Stan 'The Lariat' Hansen-??? 8. Epic return of JYD! JYD helping in the feud against the Wright Army spells money. After the Rich/Gilbert feud you went right into another hot angle with Luger and Gilbert. Missy and Baby Doll add so much to this angle. The Honky Tonk Man segments continue to deliver. Adonis and Street taking on the Long Riders in a loser leaves town match is a good blow off to this story. The Hollywood Blondes have become a serious threat to the RnR Express. Haku continues his rampage but be careful because the Superstar still has some fuel left in the tank. Great job building towards the Bash.
  9. That card would of given me my money's worth. OMG is on a terror and I'm looking forward to his inevitable collision with Kokina. I have a feeling MS-1 and Tommy Lane put on an exciting match. Andre and Martel is a main event anywhere. Maybe Martel should take some time off and heal up. Looks like Benoit and Madril had a solid working match. Nice showing for Backlund. Candido is gaining a lot of experience by taking on these veterans. Big upset for Wayne as he beats Jacques. Even if the real Kernodle isn't around, he's sure making his presence known and getting in the head of Jacques. Awesome main event that looked like a lot of fun. With a win over the King, Borne has solidified himself as a top name in this game.
  10. spaldoni replied to Grimmas's topic in Promotions
I really enjoy these profiles. It reminds me of the old days before a wrestler would debut, they would hype them up with vignettes. It's such a great way to introduce the wrestlers to the fans. The way your building up your roster has really gotten me invested in your tournament. Great job and looking forward to more.
  11. Hey life happens and gets busy. You hit all the highlights here, TNT and Gama both look tuned up for their showdown. I liked the stare down by TNT and El Profe, nice little mind game there. Jaggers and Mantell have strong words for each other. Jaggers joining Starr Corporation could be very interesting. Boyd and Crusher have a strong showing. Fun main event, ending in a brawl. Man I cant wait for Owen/Santana on July 5th!
  12. I also enjoyed watching Sweet Brown Sugar back in the day. He has become a very solid and dependable worker on my roster. He's the type of guy who generates excitement. I can have him in matches like this one here with Oliver and also love using him in 6 man tags with teams like Hot Property and Johnson/Cooley. In my opinion, Harley Race could pull anything off. He had a tremendous arsenal of wrestling holds and maneuvers. He also had a rugged style and could break the rules. At this point in his career he was winding down but still was a tough solid worker and threat. Check out some of his 70s matches. I believe there's a really good one on YouTube between him and Ricky Steamboat.
  13. Glad you liked that segment with Sharpe. I thought that would be a fun little way to start the show. Iron Mike was best known as a JTTS in WWF but you're right, he did have a good resume before that. You're also absolutely right about the Singh/Stamp team. I never saw them as a team but read about that. I believe Stamp was also a brass knuckles champ in a territory run by Dory Funk. Hmmmmm, maybe it's time to book a Dennis Stamp comeback.
  14. MACW @ The Scope, Norfolk VA, 6-15-86 US Tag Team Champs Rocky Johnson and Wendell Cooley vs. Mike Sharpe and Chick Donovan Before the match gets underway, Sharpe grabs the house mic and says if Johnson and Cooley are fighting champs, then they should put the titles on the line, here and now. Johnson and Cooley look at each other, smile and agree to make it a title match. Sharpe and Donovan make the most of this opportunity with some hard hitting offense and double teaming. Johnson comes back with a flurry on Donovan, swings him to the ropes and back drops him. Johnson tags in Cooley. Johnson hits a high drop kick, that sends Donovan into Cooley. Cooley hoists Donovan up and hits the Oklahoma Stampede for the pin! The crowd cheers as Johnson and Cooley hold their titles high. Tiger Jeet Singh vs. Frank Dapper Poor Frank didn't stand a chance as Singh charges in and just pummels him down. Singh grabs the top rope and stomps down on Frank, then chokes him with his boot. Singh swings Frank to the ropes and clotheslines him down. Singh hoists Frank up on his shoulders and drops him with the Argentine Back Rack Drop for the pin. The Ref checks on Frank. Singh pushes the Ref out of the way, grabs Frank and hurls him over the top rope. Singh goes out, grabs a chair and hits Frank with it, busting him open. Several officials and security come out to stop the Madman. Rip Oliver w/Paul Jones vs. Sweet Brown Sugar Oliver and Jones seem to be having words before the match. They settle things and Jones goes to the outside. It's back and forth for awhile until Sugar takes Oliver down with a flying leg scissors and applies the scissor lock. Oliver reaches the ropes and Sugar breaks. Oliver swings Sugar to the turnbuckles and charges in but Sugar leaps over and sunset flips him 1..2..Kick Out. Sugar swings Oliver to the ropes and back drops him. Sugar swings Oliver into the turnbuckles and charges in but Oliver lifts his knees and sends Sugar down. Oliver regroups, hops up on the 2nd turnbuckle and drops an elbow and covers 1..2..Kick Out. Oliver body slams Sugar, backs up and hits a delayed knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Oliver gets on the 2nd turnbuckle and goes for another elbow drop but Sugar moves as Oliver crashes down. Both men slowly stagger up and exchange punches. Jones gets up on the apron with his cane. Oliver grabs Sugar and starts to swing him to the ropes. Jones holds his cane up. Sugar reverses the swing and swings Oliver into Jones and the cane. Jones fly's off the apron. Sugar rolls up Oliver 1..2..3! The fans cheer as Sugar exits the ring and slaps hands with them. Moments later Oliver goes out and is yelling at Jones, wondering what he was doing interfering. Jones is giving him his side of the story but Oliver shakes his head in disguised and walks away. The Awesome Twosome (Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez) vs. The Bar Room Brawlers Rude and Fernandez get a lot of heat tonight because of their recent actions with Ted Dibiase. The Brawlers came for a fight and take it to them. Sword and Fernandez are going at it. Vines sticks his boot through the ropes. Sword grabs Manny's head and rams it on Vines boot. Sword tags in Vines. They double body slam Manny. Vines stomps away on Manny then tags in Sword. Vines hits a backbreaker on Manny and holds him, while Sword fly's off the top rope with a stomp on Manny's chest. Sword covers 1..2..Rude breaks the count with an elbow drop. Vines comes in and fights with Rude. The Ref gets control. Manny eye rakes Sword, body slams him then tags in Rude. Rude hits a diving knee drop on Sword's back, then picks him up and hits a delayed backbreaker. Rude tags in Manny. Manny swings Sword to the ropes and hits a flying forearm smash then tags in Rude. Manny runs over and sends Vines flying off the apron with a running forearm smash. Rude picks up Sword and drops him with the Rude Awakening 1..2..3! The fans boo as The Awesome Twosome raise their arms in victory. Looks like Dibiase's investment is paying off. 'Boogie Woogie Man' Jimmy Valiant vs. Randy Rose w/Paul Jones and Johnny Rich Well the odds are against Valiant and it doesn't look good but it doesn't seem to phase him as he dances around the ring, feeding off the crowd's cheers. This event will truly be something special.
  16. Terry Funk pulls tights, uses the ropes and piledrives Olympia and Houston on the concrete as he wins the tournament and Texas Title. What a wild ride that reign will be! Short reign for Garvin and Embry and looks like Bubba had his price. Creative way for Gordy to loose his match. Who wouldn't be distracted by a masked man riding a horse into the arena LOL. It's going to be a great summer for WCCW.
  17. Dibiase, Geigel, Freebirds, Olympia, bounty's, fines and now the Midnight Rider. What an awesome story going here. Tremendous build for the War Games Match! Nice cliffhanger and like Gene says, I love the creativity here as the Freebirds DONT want the Midnight Rider to reveal himself. This is so much fun to read. Geigel really made the most of his appearance here as he also addresses the Revolution and their actions. I wonder what will become of Ladd and company??? Garvin and Embry get their titles back but the Head Hunters will be a serious threat. Looking forward to the Texas Title tournament. Kev made a great point about the Von Erich's being absent. That just shows you how strong these angles are and how you have so many main event caliber wrestlers that can deliver.
  18. MACW would like to book Bruiser Brody and Akira Maeda for June 29th.
  19. Double Chain Match! Leather Strap Match! Man, things are really getting HOT in the UWF! Bullet Bob returns to action in an awesome way by beating Khan. Ron Fuller and the Wright Army better be ready. Cant wait for Taylor/Slater. Once again, you nailed it with Ivan.

  21. Luger and Baby Doll get what they want but that Eddie Gilbert always has a trick up his sleeve. Honky Tonk Man is doing a great job hyping up the feud between him and Lawler. Cant wait for that inevitable showdown. Wow, Adonis, Street and Linda really do a number on the Long Riders. I could just imagine how livid they were. Oh yea, RnR versus the Hollywood Blondes, I'm all for that! Ut Oh, dissention in Devastation Inc. If things get out of hand, Haku and Dr. Death could be one of the most hard hitting feuds of all time. Speaking of hard hitting, Doom versus Devastation Inc. will be just that.
  22. MACW releases David Sammartino and picks up Chris Youngblood
  23. Oh snap! What an ending as Hennig upsets Tully. I know Hennig is hurt but man he's got some serious momentum going as he heads to the finals against the Hammer. Hennig does need to be careful, because if anyone can capitalize on an injury, it's Valentine. Nice set up to next week's 8 man tag match. Fun match between Michaels and Herc that ends in chaos. Looking forward to the Studd/Atlas showdown. SNME is going to be a good one and I'm sure will be a great set up to Showdown at Shea.
  24. Another couple of stacked cards! Burke and Pillman continue to be one of my favorite feuds as both men continue to trade wins. Loved that finish with Bockwinkel going over Kabuki. Zenk continues his winning ways, this time over Scorpio. Outside of his loss to Martel, I don't think Zenk has lost a match since his heel turn. Razor Boys are establishing themselves as fighting champions. Garvin and Sawyer must of been a great hard hitting brawl. The 6 man main event was awesome. Steamboat gets to shine but I'm sure the fans were talking about Leon White. Jack is starting to get the best of Sabu, but it took a piledriver on the concrete to put Sabu down. That must of been a feel good win for Adams as he super kicks Adnan down. Snake Pit seems to be back on track. Death Sentence and Sheepherders get my money every time. Sarge and DeBeers continue their hot feud. Kabuki rebounds from his loss to Bockwinkel with a win over Larry Z. Blackwell and Patera continue their roll with a big win over Spivey and Rotunda. Tanaka and Finley looked like they put on a classic.
  25. OMG puts down St. Clair. Not sure St. Clair wants to be messing with OMG as he has Tiger Jeet Singh waiting for him. I like how the tag team wrestlers have been going at it one on one. This time it's Wayne over Lane. Major win for Benoit over Raymond. Hart takes the fall but the Rougeau's send the fans home happy.
