  1. Bundy's mowing over anything in his path. Valiant gets an upset over Garvin. I could just see the look on Garvin's face when Valiant invited him to dance hahahaha. Race scores points but things are not well with JJ. Looking forward to watching where this goes.
  2. I like how Tunney doesn't seem to have a clue on what's going on. Bulldog is quickly moving into title contention. Martel puts it all on the line against Muta. Heel Rougeaus are the best. I guess common enemies do make for strange alliances. Valentine and Duggan sure are examples of that. Speaking of enemies, Dusty is making a lot. Good thing he has some heavy hitting friends. The next SNME is already looking stacked! Never forget about Terry Funk! Savage has a lot on his plate right now.
  3. UK will be represented well in the final four. A change of scenery is exactly what Rhodes needed. Lee gets the job done but nevertheless a win for Rhodes as well. You've given Condrey the best career resurgence I've seen. Always watch out for the belly to belly suplex. Douglas is in the final four. I agree, Hashimoto has quickly earned credibility as a fighting champ. Cow Palace, Gordy is so damn dominating right now. Dreamboats are gearing up for another title shot. Hmmmm, just what's going on in Rose's head. Both tag champs give the fans a thrilling draw. Always fun seeing champions vs. champions. Why do I have a feeling Dibiase has a very well calculated plan to get the PCW title. Fresno, Iron and Steel give Awesome the win, but a man like Awesome likes to get the job done himself. The LHW's tear it up again. Cactus comes back with a vengeance. The Blondes play dirty but it's not enough against the Can Ams. Austin loses his cool and it costs him. Judging by his performance, I think Scotty wants to keep the well built up LHW title credible. Good job Scotty.
  4. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 9-20-89 Larry Nelson: Hello everyone and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. I hope we have extra security on hand, because things could get out of hand tonight. Don Muraco and Brutus Beefcake will take on Brian Adias and Bill Dundee. In an 8 man tag team match, the RnR Express team up with El Canek and Steve Disalvo to go up against the Moondogs, Blackblood and the Soultaker. Also in action will be the AWA world tag champs, the Fantastics. Ok, let's go to the ring. Cannonball Griz vs. Carl Kellerman Griz easily wins the match with a splash from the middle ropes. Commercial Break Leo Burke vs. Trent Watkins Burke puts down Watkins with a running forearm blast, then finishes things off with the sleeper. Nelson: Leo, you have quite the task ahead at the Happening, when you take on Buzz Sawyer. Burke: Hey, I've dealt with crazies like Sawyer before and I'm not afraid to get physical. He says he wants to have fun. Ok, Sawyer, let's have some fun. Commercial Break 'Mean' Mike Miller vs. Harold Bannister The interesting thing here is during Miller's match, Skandor Akbar was near ringside scouting Miller. Miller wins the match with a shoulder breaker. Akbar nods and walks to the back. Commercial Break The Rock n Roll Express, El Canek and 'The Mighty Yankee' Steve Disalvo vs. The Moondogs, Blackblood and the Soultaker w/Skandor Akbar This one starts off with a wild pier six brawl. The Ref lets them get it out of their systems and miraculously gets some order. The match is hard hitting and brutal because there's a lot of hate inside the ring. Everybody gets a chance to get their shots in and shine. In the end, another pier six brawl happens. Canek and Blackblood fight on the outside. RnR stereo back drop the Moondogs, then nail Soultaker with a double dropkick, that sends him into a German Suplex by Disalvo 1..2..3! After the match, the Moondogs keep fighting with RnR until Disalvo grabs a chair and swings it around like a madman. Akbar leads his men to the back while warning everybody in the ring. Commercial Break Nelson: Oh boy, hopefully all those issues in the previous match will be resolved at the Happening. Ok, speaking of the Happening, in Milwaukee, these two men will wrestle for the AWA TV title. Joining me now are Tom Brandi and Lou Perez. Both of you defeated some tough opponents to get this shot and I'm sure you're both ready for this tremendous opportunity. Brandi: Larry, I'm in the best shape of my life and I've never been more focused. I'm looking forward to taking on a great competitor like Lou. I know Lou will give me a serious challenge, but Lou, I want you to know, I'm coming to win the TV title brother. Perez: I wouldn't have it any other way. The AWA TV title is something we both want and we're going to leave it all in the ring. And Tom, I plan on walking away with the TV title. Both men smile and shake hands. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans as you know Hulk Hogan will defend the AWA world title against Tatsumi Fujinami at the Happening. We were all shocked when Tatsumi aligned himself with Ray Stevens. Listen to this. Next week the AWA world champ Hulk Hogan will be here to address all that. You won't want to miss that! Commercial Break AWA World Tag Champs The Fantastics vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez The Fantastics are in sync tonight and win the match with the Rocket Launcher. The fans cheer as the Fantastics hold their titles high. WHAM! From behind, the Union Jacks put down the Fantastics with stereo running forearm blasts! Les Thornton is yelling instructions to his men. The Union Jacks pick up Rogers and give him a double sling shot suplex. Dave holds up Fulton and clotheslines him as Smith clips Fulton behind the knees! Thornton runs in the ring, picks up the tag titles and holds them up as the fans boo. Commercial Break The Renegade Warriors vs. Todd Rooney and Ray Glader Mark holds Rooney up in a suplex position as Chris hits a flying press from the top rope for the win. Nelson announces that on a special edition of AWA Major League Wrestling, the night before the Happening, the Renegade Warriors will take on current rivals, the Rose Cousins. Commercial Break The Brawny Boys vs. Neil Jordan and Michael Loomis The Brawny Boys easily win the match with stereo bearhugs! Nelson: At the Happening, you two will get a rematch for the AWA National Tag titles. I'm sure you heard the Olympians comments last week. Kaz: Yea we heard them and they ought to be ashamed of themselves. They're supposed to be representatives of what the Olympics stand for. I once teamed with Brad Rheingans and I'm so disappointed in his behavior. At the Happening I'm going to have to knock some sense in them. Morris: Those boys like to make fun of us. Yea, I might be a good ol country boy but at the Happening this good ol country boy is going give them two a good ol fashion butt whip'n! Trust me, they have it com'n. Commercial Break 'The Rock' Don Muraco and Brutus Beefcake w/Superstar Graham vs. 'Blockbuster' Brian Adias and Bill Dundee The bell rings and chaos ensues! Muraco pounds away on Dundee as Beefcake unloads on Adias. Muraco and Beefcake stereo clothesline Adias and Dundee over the top rope. WHAM! From behind Austin Idol, Dream Machine and Chicky Starr attack Muraco and Beefcake! Graham signals to the back. The fans go wild as Bob Armstrong, Sweet Brown Sugar and Iceman Parsons hit the ring with fists flying! Adias and Dundee get back in the ring. We've got a battle royal going on as the 10 men slug it out! The show ends with the brawl. Will this finally be settled in the War Games?
  5. Dynamite is racking up points. Super D's heel tactics backfire as Studd puts him down with authority. Orton stops Prichard's big time momentum.
  6. AWA releases Corporal Kirchner AWA picks up Al Perez

  8. Hmmmmm very strange that all 3 of Savage's partners are unable to make it to the building. Speaking of partners, looks like Valentine found one in Hacksaw Duggan. Bad night for the Russians Jake is tuned up and ready for Rhodes. Rockers have a serious challenge coming with the Powers of Pain. Damn! Savage brings out Bossman and we get a wild ending! I'm all for Muta vs. Savage! After everything, Slick and Paul E have united. That's trouble! You're bringing a lot of excitement and drama to the WWF. Keep up the great work.
  9. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 9-13-89 Footage from last week is shown of what went down between Hulk Hogan, Tatsumi Fujinami and Ray Stevens. Larry Nelson: Hello everyone and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. All eyes are on The Happening and we'll be talking a lot about that tonight. So much going on, so let's just get to the ring. Vinergy w/The Vin Man vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez Vinnie cheers his men on as they put Dutro down with a double Polish Hammer for the win. Nelson: Vinnie, it seems you've created a tag team called Justified with Gary Young and Rip Oliver. And it looks like they're coming for payback. Vinnie: I knew that Gary Young was always the weak link and that's why we gave him the boot. Rip Oliver found out that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. And am I supposed to be scared that they joined forces? OOOOOHHHHH I'm shaking in my boots. Those vigilante wannabes are the ones who will pay when my boys Vinergy get in the ring with them...YEA! Commercial Break 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer vs. Trent Watkins Sawyer demolishes his opponent and finishes things off with a powerslam! Nelson: Buzz, it's official, you will face Leo Burke at the Happening. Sawyer: (screaming) I had so much fun beating up Carlos Colon that it's time for some new blood! (laughs) That means you're next Leo Burke! Nelson gets nervous as Buzz laughs like a maniac while swinging his chain around. Commercial Break 'The Red Rooster' Terry Taylor vs. 'The Foreman' Spike Huber Taylor once again starts the match with a strut. He slicks back his ponytail and flings his hands at Huber. Huber punches Taylor, swings him to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash. Huber picks up Taylor and gives him a vertical suplex 1..2..Kick Out. Huber swings Taylor to the ropes and goes for a back drop but Taylor kicks him. Taylor regroups and pounds away on Huber, then follows with a snap suplex. Taylor hops on the middle ropes and crashes down with a forearm drop 1..2..Kick Out. Taylor swings Huber into the corner and charges in but Huber moves. Huber clears the cobwebs and unloads on Taylor. Huber body slams Taylor, then picks him up and gives him an airplane spin. Huber drops Taylor and hits a standing leg drop 1..2..Kick Out. Huber reaches down but Taylor rakes his eyes. Huber is rubbing his eyes as Taylor gives him a knee lift. Taylor catches his breath, swings Huber to the ropes and back drops him. As Huber staggers up, Taylor swings off the ropes and nails him with his 5 Arm 1..2..3!! Taylor rolls out of the ring and pats himself on the back, then raises his arms in victory. Commercial Break AWA National Tag Champs The Olympians vs. Todd Rooney and Ray Glader Rheingans delivers a gut wrench suplex to Glader, then tags in Patera. Patera finishes things off with a swinging full nelson. Nelson: Ok, at the happening, the Brawny Boys have been given a rematch for the National tag team titles. After what happened at Title Night, I think this is a great call. Rheingans: Oh do you Nelson? That doesn't surprise me because you're on their level. You're a dumb oaf just like them. Patera: That's the truth. You know, we taught those two losers a lesson at title night. That they don't belong in the same ring as elite and respectable athletes like us. So now we have to face them again? What the hell is going on around here? Rheingans: At the Happening, we're going to simply outwrestle and out wit those morons. Patera: Which wont be hard to do. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, it was announced last week that at the Happening, Paul Orndorff will defend the AWA International Title against Stan Hansen. Let's here pre recorded comments from both men. Hansen: Since I came to the AWA, I've knocked down and defeated everyone in my way. One by one I defeated all the wannabe cowboys and outlaws. Dory Funk, both those Gunslingers and sent Blackjack Mulligan off into the sunset. Well, now it's time for me to get some gold. Which brings me to you Paul Orndorff. I know you're a tough man, but you haven't faced anyone like me. I'm going to run roughshod over you boy and take that title! Orndorff: I've held a title all year in the AWA and I've faced all commers and been through wars. Stan Hansen! You're no different. If you think you're going to run over me and take this here title from me ha ha ha, think again! Commercial Break Carlos Colon vs. Arnie Goldstein Colon turns up his wrestling skills tonight and wins the match with a diving clothesline from the top rope. Nelson: Carlos, at the Happening, it will be you and Tony St. Clair, one on one. Colon: I heard the comments last week from Les Thornton. Yes, it is true, I can fight and I've had many bloody battles. But do not underestimate my in ring ability. At the Happening, Mr. St. Clair is in for a big surprise. Commercial Break Winners will get an AWA World Tag Team Title shot at The Happening Karachi Vice vs. The Union Jacks w/Les Thornton Before the match, Thornton went on a tirade over Colon's previous comments and reassured everybody that Tony St. Clair will easily defeat Colon. Thornton's confidence waned as Karachi Vice start the match off strong. Makhan's size and strength combined with Gama's technical skills and submission moves really throw the Union Jacks off. The Union Jacks come back with power moves and swift technical skills as well. The match goes back and forth. Makhan takes control and swings Smith into the corner and charges in with a running back elbow smash. Makhan tags in Gama. They double suplex Smith. Gama clamps on the Boston Crab and wrenches away. Dave runs in and blasts Gama with a running forearm. Makhan runs in and punches Dave to his corner. Thornton gets on the apron and yells at Makhan. Makhan grabs Thornton. The Ref is trying to break this up. Meanwhile Gama hoists Smith up for a suplex but Dave runs over and clips Gama behind the knees. Smith falls on top of Gama as the Ref turns around and counts 1..2..3! BOOOO The Union Jacks will face the Fantastics for the World tag titles at the Happening. Commercial Break 'The Living Legend' Larry Zbyszko vs. Ross Jenkins Zbyszko wins the match with a swinging neckbreaker and then gives the fans a nun chucks demonstration. Nelson: Larry, it's you and David Sammartino in a NO DQ match at the Happening. Will this finally end? Zbyszko: Of course it will be the end spudhead. The end of Bruno's boy. Poor David tried to come to the AWA to make a name on his own. That's real cute. But the facts are this. He's coming into Larry Land for a fight and he'll be leaving Larry Land a broken and pathetic man. It's ok, I'm sure he can go and cry into daddy's open arms. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, it was announced that the War Games match will take place at the Happening. Due to all the chaos from previous weeks, for this next match Austin Idol, Bill Dundee, Chicky Starr, Brian Adias, Don Muraco, Iceman Parsons and Brutus Beefcake have all been banned from the building. Ok, here we go. 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong vs. Dream Machine The bell rings and fists are flying. These two fight in the ring and then through the ropes to the outside. Armstrong hammers away on Dream and hurls him back into the ring. Dream staggers up as Armstrong clotheslines him down. Armstrong picks up Dream, winds up and punches Dream down. Armstrong stomps away on Dream, picks him up, swings him to the ropes and backdrops him. Dream staggers up as Armstrong scoop slams him down. Armstrong picks up Dream, but Dream hits him low. Dream regroups, picks up Armstrong and executes a delayed vertical suplex. Dream hurls Armstrong out of the ring. Dream goes to the apron. Armstrong rises as Dream nails him with a double axehandle. Dream picks up Armstrong, slams his head on the apron and hurls him back into the ring. Dream taunts and yells at the fans. Dream swings off the ropes and goes for a jumping elbow drop, but Armstrong moves. Both men rise and start pounding away on each other. The Ref tries to intervene but takes a punch and goes down. Armstrong kicks Dream and delivers a Jaw Breaker! Armstrong covers but the Ref is still down. Armstrong goes over to help the Ref. Dream rolls over and pulls a foreign object out of his trunks, then puts it in his mask. Wait a minute! The fans go wild as Sweet Brown Sugar charges into the ring with a briefcase. Dream rises and turns around as Sugar blasts him over the head with the briefcase! Sugar quickly exits. Armstrong helps the Ref up. Armstrong covers as the Ref counts 1..2..3! Huge Pop! Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, I've been told that AWA officials thought Sweet Brown Sugar was still out with injuries, which is why he wasn't on the banned list. (Smiles) Oh well, I guess those are the breaks. Switching gears, at the Happening Hulk Hogan will defend the AWA world title against my guest at this time, Tatsumi Fujinami along with Ray Stevens. Boos as Stevens accompanies Fujinami into the ring. Fujinami is wearing sunglasses and a black suit. Nelson: You know, I still can't believe what happened last week. I can't believe Tatsumi Fujinami has aligned with you Ray Stevens. Stevens: You better believe it Nelson, because it's happening! The name of the pay per view says it all. This is in fact a true happening. The world saw Jumbo Tsuruta cheated out of his world title at WrestleRock. This man (points at Fujinami) is going to set things straight. Tatsumi the Dragon Fujinami will take down Hulkamania at the Happening and bring the world title back to where it rightfully belongs. What Tatsumi did to Hogan last week was just a taste. You're in over your head Hogan and after the Happening, the AWA will be a better place thanks to Tatsumi Fujinami!
  10. Condrey has been on fire since returning to PCW and just might win the tournament. Snow advances but the teams are still at war. Wow, I have to say, Rose came off like quite the leader. Douglas advances with a decisive win while O'Grady advances with an exciting upset. Dreamboats are tuned up and ready for another title shot. Portland, Eddie has trouble with a pissed off Austin. I'm wondering if it's time for Dustin to move on from the Terror. Hart gets a big win but still has Austin to deal with. Rose and Scotty are definitely in sync. Hashimoto looks ready for all challengers. Oh yea, seeds planted for Dibiase vs. Steamboat. This is very interesting, especially with Steamboat's upcoming cage match with the Jackal on his mind. Eugene, Blackman and Chono have listened to their mentors and it showed tonight. Busick's rampage continues. Gunn keeps racking up wins. What's been up with the Blondes? Not cool leaving Pillman hanging. Regal has a good ally in Cactus. That could've ended badly. The night ends with Finlay edging out Malenko in a thriller.
  11. Manny picks up points by taking down his old foe. Bundy gets a decisive win over Valiant that sends strong message. I'm with Rain, never a good thing to be distracted when facing a man with a KO punch.
  12. AWA update on The Happening pay per view AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow has made the huge announcement that the War Games match will take place in Milwaukee at the Happening. The War Games Match!!! Austin Idol, Bill Dundee, Chicky Starr, Dream Machine and Brian Adias vs. Bob Armstrong, Don Muraco, Iceman Parsons, Sweet Brown Sugar and Brutus Beefcake Also just signed Mask vs. Mask El Canek vs. Black Blood w/Skandor Akbar Tornado Match The Rock n Roll Express vs. The Moondogs w/Skandor Akbar
  13. Heel Tunney, I like it! Valentine gives Martel a scare until Bravo and Hart interfere. Valentine vs. Bravo will be a fun mid card feud. It's cool seeing a couple of legendary figures like Rhodes and Andre teaming up. Looking forward to Rude and Warrior locking horns. Tito looking strong. Oh wow, I wonder who Savage will being out to face the Skyscrapers. I'm hoping all this leads to a Savage/Muta showdown. I think the Steiners are going to have a hard time getting a rematch with the Rougeaus. Good things happening in the WWF right now.
  14. Happy to see the Tournament of Lions back! Regal carries his CA title win momentum into the tournament. Starr takes advantage of the chaos to advance. Oh man I love Iron and Steel even more after that promo. Finlay will be a force in the tournament. Blackman's name is on the rise in PCW and I see him doing well in the tournament. Damn! Dutch lays down the law with authority. No doubt about it, he means business! Hart and Austin brawling right after Dutch's announcement got a big laugh from me. I have a feeling Dutch has something special planned for these two. Vancouver, Awesome just steamrolls over Payne. Dustin's woes continue as do Lee's frustrations. Looks like Severn and Tenryu are trying to bring respect and honor out of their pupils. Hart and Austin are really testing Dutch. Hashimoto is already in fighting champion mode as he retains against a red hot Condrey. Kelowna, Hall gives the Brigade a much needed win. The Southern Boys are getting a real kick out of the Blondes rule breaking. The LHWs showcase once again why this division is so exciting. After that decisive win over Rose, Bigelow should be in line for a title shot. Pillman evens things up...for now. Scotty is going to have a great LHW title run.
  15. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 9-6-89 Highlights from Title Night are shown and ends with Hulk Hogan holding his title high. Larry Nelson: Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of AWA Major League Wrestling. Fans, on Saturday Oct. 5th, from the Mecca in Milwaukee, the AWA presents its next pay per view, The Happening. Hulk Hogan will defend the AWA world title against Tatsumi Fujinami. Tonight, both men will be in the ring to sign the official contract. Also tonight, The Rock n Roll Express teams with Steve Disalvo to take on the Soultaker and the Moondogs. El Canek returns to AWA action. Brutus Beefcake makes his AWA debut. And there will be two matches, Lou Perez vs. Mike Miller and Tom Brandi vs. Cannonball Griz. The winners will face each other at the Happening for the AWA TV Title. So much going on, so lets get to the ring. Justified (Gary Young and Rip Oliver) vs. Trent Watkins and Louis Carbon Oliver and Young have apparently joined forces to compete in the AWA tag team ranks. They come out wearing black boots, black knee pads, black tights and black vests. They get the job done in the ring tonight. Oliver hits a diving clothesline from the middle ropes on Watkins, then tags in Young. Young finishes things off with a tornado DDT. Nelson: Ok Rip Oliver and Gary Young. We all saw you guys at Title Night do a number on Vinergy and Vin Man. It now looks like you'll be teaming up as Justified. Talk to me about the name and your intentions. Young: Vinnie! Vinergy! You all made a big mistake kicking me out and putting me down. What we did to you at Title Night is just the beginning! Oliver: That's right! Gary and I were both embarrassed by those 3 idiots and we feel we were justified in our actions. Hence the name. From here on out, we're going to be justified in all our actions! Commercial Break Winner will advance to a TV title match at the Happening 'Lightning' Lou Perez vs. 'Mean' Mike Miller Miller attacks at the bell and starts hammering away on Perez. Miller swings Perez to the ropes and goes for a back drop but Perez leapfrogs over, swings back and puts Miller down with a dropkick. Miller gets up but Perez puts him back down with another dropkick. Perez goes to the top rope and comes down with a knee drop but Miller moves. Miller regroups and stomps down on Perez. Miller rakes his boot across Perez's head. Miller picks up Perez and executes a vertical suplex. Miller follows with a shoulder breaker 1..2..Perez gets his foot on the rope. Miller's pissed and starts choking Perez. Miller picks up Perez and swings him into the turnbuckles. Miller charges but Perez moves. Miller hits hard and staggers back as Perez grabs him and hits a bridging back suplex 1..2..3!! Big POP! Commercial Break El Canek vs. Todd Rooney Canek returns from another successful tour of Mexico. Canek looks awesome tonight and wins the match with a body slam followed by a senton from the middle ropes. WHAM! Canek is attacked by Black Blood! Skandor Akbar is instructing Blood as Blood inflicts more punishment. Blood leaps off the top rope and nails Canek with a knee drop across his throat! Nelson: Akbar! What the hell was that all about? Akbar: How quickly you forget Nelson. Greg Gagne hired me to do a job and Black Blood will make damn sure we finish that job! That was a warning Canek! Leave the AWA while you still can walk or Black Blood will see to it that you're stretchered out of here! Commercial Break 'Sir' Tony St. Clair w/Les Thornton vs. Ray Glader St. Clair puts on a wrestling clinic tonight. He nails Glader with a running European uppercut the follows with a floating butterfly suplex for the win. Nelson: Ok Les Thornton, your Parliament will be very busy. It's been announced that Tony St. Clair will face Carlos Colon at the Happening. Also, next week your Union Jacks will face Karachi Vice and the winners will get a world tag title shot at the Happening. Thornton: Carlos Colon is merely a stepping stone for Sir Tony. Quite frankly Sir Tony is leagues ahead of a blood thirsty savage like Colon. Sir Tony will teach a brawler like Colon a serious wrestling lesson. Next, the Union Jacks will finally get rid of those peasants Karachi Vice and then move on to win the world titles and bring them back to the Queen. I told you, the Parliament will rule the AWA! Commercial Break Winner will face Lou Perez for the AWA TV Title at The Happening 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. Cannonball Griz We get a contrast of styles match here as Brandi excites the fans with his high flying maneuvers while Griz puts his size and power to good use. A few minutes in and the match could go either way. Griz takes control and slams Brandi down hard. Griz swings Brandi to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash, then follows with a standing fist drop 1..2..Kick Out. Griz swings Brandi to the ropes but misses a clothesline, Brandi swings back and hits a flying press 1..2..Kick Out. Both men stagger up and start punching away on each other. Brandi gets the upper hand and atomic drops Griz into the turnbuckles. Griz staggers back and down as Brandi goes out to the apron and hits a sling shot splash 1..2..3!! Big Pop! Tom Brandi will face Lou Perez at the Happening for the AWA TV title Commercial Break Brutus Beefcake vs. Clyde Putnam The fans get a kick out of Beefcake as he struts around the ring and has a good time. Beefcake swings Putnam to the ropes and hits a running high knee for the win. Larry Nelson goes into the ring to talk with Brutus. Hold on! Austin Idol, Bill Dundee, Chicky Starr and Dream Machine enter the ring. Nelson: Wait a minute! Because of all the issues, Bob Armstrong, Iceman Parsons and Don Muraco were told not to show up tonight, so please, don't cause any trouble. And Dundee, I thought you left the AWA? Dundee: You thought wrong Nelson. I've never felt better in my life after that beating I gave Muraco last week. Have mercy! But we're not here to talk about that. We're here to talk to this man (points at Beefcake) Dream: That's right! So listen up babay! Starr: It's simple, we don't like the looks of you amigo. Idol: Look Beefcake, Chicky said it best. The All-Stars simply don't like you darling. I mean who do you think you are coming in here and strutting around, dressing like us and copying our every move. We don't need another imposter, so why don't you go back to where you came from. The All-Stars are out here to welcome our newest member and brother it isn't you! So get lost or get a beating! Beefcake: (rubs his chin) You know my good buddy, the real superstar Billy Graham (this gets Dundee heated) told me about a group. But I thought you boys were the No Stars! The All-Stars circle Beefcake. The fans go wild as Beefcake starts throwing punches! He's doing pretty good but the numbers catch up. Things get worse when BRIAN ADIAS runs in and starts stomping down on Beefcake! All 5 men put the boots to Beefcake. Dundee goes to the top rope and crashes down with the Bombs Away. Chicky hits his corkscrew elbow drop. Dream follows with a jumping elbow drop. Idol picks up Beefcake and holds him. The All-Stars smile and let Adias do the honors. Adias grabs Beefcake and hits a Russian Leg Sweep. Adias puts his boot on Beefcake's chest as the All-Stars surround Adias and hold up his arms. Idol grabs the mic. Idol: The All-Stars needed a blockbuster hit and we found one. Welcome Brian! Commercial Break David Sammartino vs. Neil Jordan Sammartino wins the match with a belly to belly suplex! Nelson: David, since you've arrived to the AWA, Larry Zbyszko has been a big thorn in your side. Well, at the Happening you two will meet in a no DQ match. Sammartino: I guess it wasn't enough that I knocked him out at WrestleRock. NO! He had to beat me senseless with nun chucks! Fine! I can fight dirty too and at the Happening I get to do whatever I want. That means you're in a lot of trouble Zbyszko! Commercial Break The Rock n Roll Express and 'The Mighty Yankee' Steve Disalvo vs. The Moondogs and Soultaker w/Skandor Akbar Shocker, but this one is declared a No Contest from the start. RnR and the Moondogs fight all over the place, while Disalvo and Soultaker trade hard shots in the ring. The viewers get to enjoy the chaos up until the commercial break. Commercial Break Brenda Britton is in the ring with AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow Britton: Hi everybody, it's only fitting that I kick off this historical contract signing. Ok Gerry, it's all yours. Morrow: AHHHHHH thank you Brenda. The Happening will take place on October 5th at de Mecca in Milwaukee. Before we get to dis contract signing, I would like to announce another big title bout for de Happening. Paul Orndorff will defend de International title against Stan Hansen. Britton: Oh my! That's a dream match for sure! Morrow: Indeed it is Brenda. Dat is why I signed it. I cannot wait. Ok, we all know dat Hulk Hogan will defend de AWA world title against de winner of last week's battle royal Tatsumi Fujinami. Let me first welcome out de challenger, Tatsumi Fujinami. Fujinami comes out wearing a black kimono. He steps in the ring and shakes hands with Morrow. Morrow: And now please welcome de AWA world champion, Hulk Hogan. Morrow: Mr. Hogan if you would sign here please and feel free to say a few words. Hogan signs the contract and is ready to speak. Boos as Ray Stevens enters the ring. Morrow: Mr. Stevens, this is quite a surprise. Stevens: This won't take long Gerry. (looks at Hogan) You don't think Jumbo Tsuruta forgot about you, do you? Oh no Hogan, Jumbo is still in Japan. However, in the meantime, I've got something for you Hogan and trust me you're going to love this. WHAM! From behind, Fujinami nails Hogan with an Enzigiri! Fujinami picks up Hogan and delivers a Dragon Suplex! Hogan is down. Britton: What just happened!!?? Stevens: I'll tell you what just happened! Hogan was just put down by my newest client Tatsumi the Dragon Fujinami! That's what just happened! Fujinami takes the contract from Morrow and signs it, then drops it on Hogan. Funaki took a lot of punishment but comes back strong to get the win. Good match to kick things off in Moscow. I think having the home crowd behind him helped Zouev edge out Shamrock. That devastating back fist was enough to lead Han to an impressive victory. WOW! Onita's resilience impressed me here as he weathered a big storm from Berkovich to prevail in the end. Ruas makes relatively short work of Zalasov. Experience was the key factor here. Allen gets respect in Russia after that win. He's still got it! I could imagine the silenced crowd after Williams finished things off. Willams and Albright are a force! Moscow had the pleasure of watching Vader's debut and he didn't disappoint. It's going to take a lot to beat the man they call Vader. David put his wrestling skills to work, but Maeda's kicks were too much to handle. It was cool seeing a big name like Maeda get the win in Russia. Takada gave the Fans a few scares but Karelin stuck to his plan and sent them home happy. After this show and the attendance, I'm sure the UWF will be back for more.
  17. Big win for Dynamite scores him some points. Prichard is on fire right now! Studd gets the best of Orton in a fun heel battle. Next week's Garvin vs. Race match will be the definition of hard hitting.

He nails Taylor from behind with an Enzigiri! Fujinami then hurls Taylor over the top rope! Winner of the Battle Royal-Tatsumi Fujinami
  20. Phoenix Firestorm. I've been pumped up for this one! Azul's win gets the night going. The Juice Crew gives Sinister early momentum. I give Payne a lot of credit, but man who can stop Wiliams right now? First Blackman and now Stormfront. Poor Severn has his hands full. Is there still hope for Busick? I have a feeling Douglas isn't giving up. Lee wanted a brawl and definitely got one as Gordy puts him down. I have to say, I popped at Scotty winning the LHW title. This is going to be a fun reign. The Dreamboats have become a serious thorn for Cornette and his Express. Too be continued. Rose tried everything and should've known the Playboy Club's foes would be watching. Hashimoto gets a feel good moment. I have to wonder what's next for Rose. Is it Scotty's time? We'll find out soon enough. Night 2, YES! Adams vs. Pillman is an electrifying way to start things off. Oh man, the Terror really has young Dustin's number. I think it's time to put Hall and Awesome in the cage. Was that the Southern Boys way of welcoming the Blondes to the heel side. LOL Iron and Steel give Cactus a hammering. What did Cactus do to deserve all this? If he wants payback, he better call in an army to take on these guys. In a twist Chono and Blackman keep their cool. Blackman scores the fall, but Chono seems to want more. This has been a fun feud. Finlay has been on a submission terror and keeps his momentum going as he trounces Eddie to win the title. It took a lot, but Dibiase kos Windham to get the win. Clean sweep and an epic 2 nights for the Terror Collective! Bret causes Austin to lose focus AND his CA title. Regal's once again on top. Austin and Bret are going to get ugly. I agree, Phoenix winning the titles was the match of the night. Well earned victory! I did enjoy the Can Am's reign. After a crazy two nights we get an even crazier finish in the main event. That was nuts! I can't wait to hear what Dutch has to say. It might not be good for the Jackal or Steamboat. As always, Firestorm delivered! Great job!
  21. Summerslam! Oh yea! Duggan gets a guitar blast from Earthquake and a kick from Haku. Rough night! Steiners win the US titles in the Rougeaus homeland. What a match and what a moment! Martel is all in on this gimmick and gets a nice showcase against Snuka. I thought Duggan had a rough night but Bossman's might be worse. Slick will be serving hard time after that slap. On the flip side, the Skyscrapers have to be considered serious contenders. Davey Boy looked incredible tonight. Tito brought his A game but Muta is on a different level right now. Well, we all knew this was just about the visual. Thankfully Andre ended things relatively quickly and remains the true giant. After one heck of a chase, the Rockers finally win the world titles! Fun match with an exciting ending. Damn! The War Zone match was off the charts! Fantastic write up and easy to follow. It gave the fans everything they could have ask for. Savage gets the visual of the night to end the show on the highest of notes. Awesome job! Raw, Good job with the Summerslam follow up. We got some solid promos and have a sense on where things are going. There are so many contenders for Rude right now and that's exactly how it should be. The second half of 89 will be very interesting. WOW! Just like that the Rougeaus are the new US champs. I love the idea of an all American boys US title reign. Bring on the heat.
  22. Race proves he can win without JJ's help. Only a matter of time before Race gets fed up. Great finish by Garvin as he works his way to another shot at Budro. Both Bundy and Studd have to be considered favorites. Things will get interesting as the series progresses.
  23. Dibiase has really shaken things up in PCW. Phoenix Rising has risen to a tag title shot. You gotta love Cornette's one liners, but for me the Eaton glance was icing on the cake. I can get behind a Pillman/Adams feud. My guys Iron and Steel are quickly becoming title contenders. Hashimoto sends a strong message to Rose. LA, Poor Rhodes has been taking some beatings and Lee's frustrations are building. You're right, Awesome might've killed Cactus if Hall didn't stop things. Windham's a man possessed. A distracted Austin still manages to retain. I think the Ministry actually breathed fire into the Dragon. Santa Barbara, I'm loving this hard hitting Blackman/Chono feud! Finlay is really making a claim for a Submission title shot. Gunn has racked up some impressive wins this year. I wouldn't mind watching Severn and Tenryu go at it for 20 minutes. The Midnights better regain focus otherwise the Dreamboats might pull off the upset of the year. Are we seeing a Candido heel turn? Malenko has been dominant as LHW champ. Firestorm is beyond stacked!
  24. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 8-23-89 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Tonight, you'll see the Rock n Roll Express take on the Moondogs. Leo Burke goes up against Glamour Doll. Terry Taylor squares off against Tom Brandi. Brian Adias will be tuning up for his upcoming world title bout. Sweet Dreams will be in tag action. The AWA World tag champs the Fantastics will be in action as well as International champ Paul Orndorff. Ok, let's get to the ring. 'Lightning' Lou Perez vs. John Selles Perez gets the fans going and wins the match with a bridging back suplex. Perez cuts a promo and says he knows he came up short in his TV title match a couple weeks ago, but that's not going to keep him down. He's determined, focused and ready. Commercial Break Leo Burke vs. Glamour Doll Doll offers a handshake but before Burke can react, Doll kicks him in the mid section and rakes his eyes. Doll rakes Burke's face across the top rope, then chokes him on the top rope and flings him back. Doll stomps away on Burke and follows with a jumping knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Doll swings Burke to the ropes and hits a high dropkick. Doll spends too much time admiring his move before he covers 1..Kick Out. Doll swings Burke into the corner and charges in, but Burke lunges forward and puts Doll down with a running forearm blast. Burke fires up and swings Doll into the corner and follows with several European uppercuts. Burke hip tosses Doll across the ring. Burke picks up Doll and delivers a delayed vertical suplex. Burke drops an elbow on Doll. Burke swings Doll to the ropes and clamps on the sleeper. Burke wrenches away as the Ref drops Doll's arm 3 times and signals for the bell. Burke drops Doll and raises his fist to the cheering fans. Commercial Break Nelson: Ok, with me now is Les Thornton. Les, I understand you have an announcement to make. Thornton: Yes I do. I have been hard at work assembling what I am calling the Parliament. As you know I purchased the contracts of the British Bombers from Skandor Akbar. I would like to bring them out now. Only they will now be known as the Union Jacks. The Union Jacks come out wearing shiny Union Jack themed jackets and Union Jack themed wrestling pants. They shake hands with Thornton. Thornton: I have promised the Union Jacks that they can finish their business with Karachi Vice. Once we get through with them, we are setting our sights on tag team gold. Now, I would like you all to show proper respect as Sir Tony St. Clair graces us with his presence. St. Clair strolls out in a fur cape and purple wrestling pants with a gold lion on the back. He shakes hands with Thornton and the Union Jacks. Thornton: Sir Tony is hands down simply the best wrestler in the AWA. It's only a matter of time before he's holding a prestigious title. You're looking at the Parliament and there is nothing that can stop this royal group. Commercial Break AWA World Tag Champs the Fantastics vs. Cole Winsor and Treat Wallace The Fantastics make it look easy as they win the match with the Rocket Launcher. Nelson: On September 2nd at the next Title Night in Winnipeg, you two will be defending against Vinergy. Vinergy have been causing a lot of trouble recently. They kicked Gary Young out of the group, then last week assaulted Rip Oliver. Vinnie says you guys are next. Fulton: If they think they're somehow intimidating us, think again! Vinergy! You're next! Rogers: The only thing Vinnie and Vinergy are doing is making enemies. At title night, we're going to show them what cohesive tag team wrestling is all about! These belts are staying with us! Commercial Break The Rock n Roll Express vs. The Moondogs w/Skandor Akbar I know it's a shocker, but this match never officially begins as both teams just tear into each other before the bell rings and don't stop. It's pure chaos as they brawl all over the place and into the commercial break. This one's far from over. Commercial Break 'The Foreman' Spike Huber vs. Todd Rooney Huber looks tough tonight. He gives Rooney an airplane spin, drops him and follows with a standing leg drop for the win. Commercial Break Sweet Dreams vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez Sweet Dreams win the match with a double headbutt. Wait a minute! Austin Idol and Chicky Starr come into the ring. Starr is holding a briefcase. Idol grabs the mic. Idol: After what went down last week, Bill Dundee, the real superstar has left the AWA and I don't blame him. He was robbed and cheated! Well, the All-Stars have decided to turn the heat up around here. (Looks at Dream Machine) Dream, you and I go back a long way daddy and if there's one man who deserves to be an All-Star, it's you baby! My man Chicky has something for you. Consider it a bonus. Starr kneels down and opens the briefcase which is filled with money. Starr slides it over towards Dream Machine. Dream kneels down and pulls out a wad of bills and counts them. Sweet Brown Sugar walks over to Dream and starts talking sense to him. Dream closes the briefcase, grabs it and stands up. Sugar continues to talk with him. Dream clenches the briefcase as he walks towards Idol and Starr. Dream turns around and hits Sugar over the head!! Idol and Starr start stomping away on Sugar. They pick up Sugar and hold him. Dream does some shuffling and dancing, then once again hits Sugar over the head with the briefcase. Dream grabs the mic Dream: Sweet Dreams babay! Idol, Starr and Dream hug each other as the fans boo. Commercial Break 'The Red Rooster' Terry Taylor vs. 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi The bell rings and Taylor does a little strut, slicks back his ponytail and flicks his hands at Brandi. They lock up and Brandi hip tosses Taylor over. Taylor gets up as Brandi dropkicks him through the ropes. Taylor staggers up and falls back down as the fans laugh. Taylor gets up and flips over a chair is frustration. Taylor finally gets on the apron and grabs the top rope. Brandi quickly grabs the ropes and flings Taylor back in the ring. Taylor staggers up as Brandi swings off the ropes and hits a flying press 1..2..Kick Out. Brandi swings Taylor to the ropes and goes for a back drop, but Taylor kicks him. Taylor regroups. Brandi starts to rise as Taylor grabs him and hits a snap suplex. Taylor picks up Brandi and drops him with a neck breaker 1..2..Kick Out. Taylor executes a back breaker, then goes to the top rope. Taylor trips Brandi's legs and pushes them forward as Taylor puts his own feet on the turnbuckles 1..2..3! Taylor rolls out of the ring, pats himself on the back and raises both arms in victory as the fans boo. Commercial Break 'Blockbuster' Brian Adias vs. Ray Glader The former record setting TV Champ looks focused tonight and wins the match with a cradle suplex. Nelson: It all happens in Winnipeg at the next Title Night. Brian Adias, you gave up a lot for this opportunity. Adias: It was an easy decision! A no brainer! Because everybody knows that I'm walking out of Winnipeg as the AWA world champion. I've been waiting months for this match! I've been patiently waiting to shut Chump Hogan's mouth. He's not in my league in Hollywood and he damn sure isn't in my league in the ring. Listen up Chump! I'm going to humiliate and embarrass you as I wrestle circles around you. I know what being a champion is all about. Something you'll never know Chumpster. You're nothing but a paper champ. Adias pulls out a piece of paper and pen, then signs it and gives it to Nelson. Adias: You just got the first autograph of the next AWA world champ. Save that Nelson, it's priceless, just like me. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, don't forget, next Monday right here on Sports Channel America, you will see Title Night from Winnipeg.
