  1. MACW @ Greenville, SC, Memorial Auditorium 1-22-86 Johnny Rich vs. 'Cowboy' Scott Casey Pretty good opener as both wrestlers go toe to toe. The finish comes when Casey swings Rich into the turnbuckles and charges in, but Rich gets his boot up. Casey's face hits the boot and Casey falls back and down. Rich hops up on the 2nd turnbuckle and crashes down with a fist drop for the pin! Kamala w/Paul Jones vs. Steve Ramsey and Lou Simms in a Handicap Match Kamala just goes in there and destroys both wrestlers as he body slams Ramsey onto Simms then finishes them off with a big splash! Kiniski Brothers vs Devil's Duo w/Paul Jones Still upset from the cane incident a couple weeks ago on TV, the Kiniski's start off with fire. They pound away on the Duo. Sword and Vines bail out of the ring a couple times to converse with their new manager. The Duo takes control but the Kiniski's come right back. Kelly Kiniski gets Jeff Sword up in a vertical suplex position but Paul Jones hits Kiniski's knee with the cane! Kiniski falls back with Sword on top as the ref counts 1..2..3! NWA Tag Team Champion Arn Anderson w/ JJ Dillon vs. 'Hot Property' Joe Savoldi w/Billy Travis Joe gives Arn all he can handle in this match. Joe starts off hot with a series of hip tosses and arm drags then follows with a series of body slams as he fires up the crowd. Arn takes control and takes it to Joe with a double axe handle flurry on the back. Joe gets the momentum back by kicking Arn as he bent down for a back body drop. Joe almost pins Arn with a sunset flip. JJ tries to interfere and distracts Joe from the apron, but Billy Travis yanks JJ down from the apron. As Joe turns around, Arn kicks him then picks him up and drops him with the Gourdbuster and gets the pin! NWA TV Champ Terry Taylor vs. Ken Timbs w/Rock Riddle Riddle's Fabulous Blonde looks good tonight as he gives the Television champ a hard match. Timbs hits Taylor with a back elbow off the ropes. Timbs picks up Taylor, swings him to the ropes but misses a clothesline attempt, Taylor swings off the ropes and comes back with the flying five arm smash for the pin! US Tag Team Tournament Semi Final Match Soul Patrol (Austin and Sugar) vs. Renegade Warriors (Mark and Chris Youngblood) The crowd was into this hard fought but clean match up. Both teams went back and forth. Soul Patrol took control with head scissor take overs, drop kicks and double team knee lifts. Renegade Warriors get their share in as they take control with drop kicks, chops, big boots to the face and diving thrusts. The finish comes when Chris Youngblood swings Sugar into the turnbuckles and runs in and lifts his leg in the air for a big boot to the face but Sugar moves and Chris hits hard and his leg gets tangled up. Sugar tags in Austin, they pull Chris out, lift him up and double suplex him back. The Soul Patrol jump up and dive down with a double head butt. Austin covers, Mark tries to break it up but gets dropkicked back by Sugar as the Ref counts 1..2..3! The Soul Patrol advance to the finals against the Stud Stable in Greensboro! Both teams shake hands afterwards as the Soul Patrol help Chris up. The fans applaud the sportsmanship. US Title Match Magnum TA © vs. NWA Tag Team Champ Ole Anderson w/JJ Dillon After a fast start by Magnum, Ole gets control and works on the arm. He knee drops Magnum's arm then picks him up in a hammerlock and body slams him down on his arm. Ole continues to wrench on the arm. After dominating for a long period Ole wants to finish the job. He hops up on the top turnbuckle and dives off, going for a knee drop but Magnum moves. Magnum's arm is in pain but he begins to drop a series of knees on Ole. JJ gets up on the apron and Magnum punches him as the fans roar. Magnum swings Ole to the ropes and hits him with a drop kick. Ole staggers up and Magnum scoop slams him. Magnum shakes his arm then picks up Ole in a vertical suplex position and drops him back. Magnum gets up and shakes his fists as the crowd roars. Magnum swings Ole to the ropes and hits the belly to belly suplex! The Ref counts 1..2..NO! Arn Anderson runs in and starts kicking Magnum. He swings Magnum to the ropes and hits him with the Spinebuster! Ole staggers up and joins Arn in the beating. They stomp away on Magnum. The crowd cheers as Hot Property hits the ring. The Andersons roll out. JJ and the Andersons look up and warn the young tag team before they head to the back. Hot Property attend to Magnum. They help Magnum up and hand him his US title. Magnum is able to barley lift it up to the cheering crowd.
  2. Very clever ending to the finals which sets up an incredible rematch with both teams rested. That should be awesome! Tiger Mask with a strong defense and no doubt about it, he's the champ. Like the handshake between Gordy and Yatsu. Shows the respect between two ring warriors.
  3. Yea the Guerreros are a true highlight. Look at Perez taking Orndorff to the limit. No doubt the Sarge/Rhodes vs. Blackwell/Patera match was an epic brawl. Leon White is looking strong. Solid card.
  4. I agree, the running out of time as everybody was brawling is classic 80s wrestling. Couple of heated feuds going on as Rich and friends are going up against Wright's Army. Also Lawler and company brawling with the Nation. That's more than enough for me to get a ticket to the Mid South Coliseum.
  5. Man so much good stuff happening! I can just imagine the look Simmons gave Sullivan. Simmons is one guy I would never want to upset. Dusty looking strong as he sends Khan packing. Despite losing, Spivey is really gaining some momentum. Kabuki is back! Watch your back Adams. Orndorf continues to keep a firm grasp on the world title. Who can stop him??? If this helps with the Youngblood's confusion, I have Mark and Chris using the Renegade Warriors name LOL.
  6. Yea I wanted to put a different spin on a Rich/Sawyer feud, with a Rich being the heel and a Sawyer as the face.
  7. Wow a lot happening in Texas! Flair feuding with the Funks is great. Big, oh sorry, the Giant John Studd is really dominating the Von Erich's. Of course the Garvins and Embry segment was hilarious. Poor Eric just cant catch a break, from the woman to his car LOL. I really hope they come up with Dr. D's money. The Bar Room Brawl card looks insane! Only at Gilley's could this happen.
  8. Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling News Sources say Ric Flair and Jim Crockett had an intense phone conversation this week. Apparently Flair got wind that the Crockett's gave Mil Mascaras a handsome some of money for his televised appearance and also a big incentive for his upcoming appearance in Greensboro. Flair understands the pay for his special appearance on television but thought it was an outrageous amount to give to an outsider, especially when a lot of the Mid Atlantic wrestlers have been working really hard on television. What angered Flair even more was that the Crockett's paid Mascaras a phenomenal amount of money for the Greensboro match and also promised him a big sum of the gate money. Flair never got that kind of deal by the Crocketts, even when he was world champ. Flair also feels that he will be the real draw in Greensboro, as this will be his big return. Jim Crockett scrambled to try and make Flair happy. Crockett went as far as to change the plans for the Battle of the Belts card on Feb. 22nd. Flair was originally booked against Antonio Inoki. It will now be Magnum TA defending the US title against Flair. Flair seemed to settle down as Jim Crockett laid out some future plans for him. As for Inoki, the Crockett's booked Stan Hansen to come in and face him. The Crockett's are very excited about the Battle of the Belts card. The newly crowned UWF champs, the Road Warriors have been booked for an NWA World Tag Team title shot. Rick Martel will also be defending the NWA World title. It's shaping up to be an exciting night of action in the NWA. As far as the Mid Atlantic talent goes, the Crockett's have decided to tweak some plans that were made. Originally Jimmy Golden was going to team with Tom Brandi as the Assassins. The Crockett's want to go far with the Stud Stable, so they felt Jimmy Golden would be best suited to work in the Stud Stable as him and the Fullers have worked some great angles in the past and Mid Atlantic wants to recapture that magic. So the Crockett's had a meeting with Jody Hamilton and asked for his suggestions on a partner for Brandi. Hamilton suggested Jack Armstrong. He's wrestled out west and the fans here probably wont recognize him. Hamilton also feels Armstrong's gruff style is a perfect fit for the Assassins. Jack Armstrong is a solid ring veteran and everybody feels he will be a great mentor for Brandi, as that was the plan from the beginning. Look for the Assassins to debut next month with a bit of a different look from the originals. They will still wear the iconic masks and black pants but without the shirts. Jim Crockett wants to show off the great physiques of Brandi and Armstrong as he feels that will make them look more menacing. Hamilton is very excited to be in this role and to carry on the Assassins name. Another change made is that Scott Casey will loose the hood and Texas Bronco gimmick. Mid Atlantic just signed the Cobra and he will be working as a baby face. The Crockett's didn't want to have two baby faces under a mask. They love Scott Casey's work ethic and really want him for opening matches on the loops and also promised him some good TV spots. Scott, being the true professional that he is, was more than willing to accept this. As for the Cobra, the Crockett's think he will bring a different kind of excitement to Mid Atlantic and hope the fans will get behind him. Mid Atlantic television has been spending a lot of time this month getting the new arrivals familiar with the fans and building up their characters and storylines. They feel they have a solid mix of veterans, young stars and managers. Things seem to be coming together. A recap of the big Greensboro show on the next report.
  9. Once again the announcers do an outstanding job of keeping things moving. Very passionate promo by Ayala! I think Madril is in serious trouble. I like the idea of a Singh/TNT program. Great Sports Shop with Chicky and Owen. Cant wait to see how that unfolds. I enjoyed the RPM's promo as they were being very honest and using logic. Feb. 22 is shaping up to be an epic night of action.
  10. MACW @ WTBS Studios TV 1-18-86 Schiavone: Hello again everybody and welcome to another edition of Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling, along with me as always is David Crockett. Well David a big show lined up tonight. We now know that the Fullers have advanced to the finals in the US Tag Team Tournament. They will be facing the winners of the Soul Patrol, Renegade Warriors match, which will take place this weekend in Greenville South Carolina. Crockett: That's right Tony. The Fullers received a bye due to the double disqualification in the Fabulous Blondes, Nightmares match. We will hear from those teams today. We will also have a special wrestling appearance by Mil Mascaras. Also in action, United States champ, Magnum TA as well as Mid Atlantic champ, Harley Race. We will also show you some footage of what went down this week in Spartanburg between Brett Sawyer and Johnny Rich. Right now we've got some pre recorded comments from former world champion, Ric Flair, who's touring in Texas right now. Pre Recorded Comments Flair: WHOOOOO! The Nature Boy is riding high and main event'n all over the NWA right now. Texas knows what the Nature Boy is about. But relax Mid Atlantic because the Nature Boy comes home to Greensboro on the 25th. On that night I'm taking the great and legendary Mil Mascaras to school. After I'm done with him I'm going to continue to main event all over the NWA until I get that paper champ, little Ricky Martel back in the ring. Just remember NWA, diamonds are forever and so is Ric Flair! WHOOOOOO! Back Live US Champ Magnum TA vs. Tim Straw Magnum looks great in his televised return. He whips Straw into the ropes and finishes him off with the belly to belly suplex! Crockett: Magnum, great to have you back on the superstation. Magnum: David Crockett, it's great to be back and holding this United States title. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm here to take on any and all challengers. I'm heading up to Canada for some bookings and I'm looking forward to taking on the best the NWA has to offer. You can also bet that I'll be defending this title next month on the Battle of the Belts card. 1986 is going to be Magnum TA's year and you can bet on that! Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans, I want to show you some footage of what went down earlier this week at the Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg. Footage from Spartanburg Johnny Rich attacks Bret Sawyer after his match. Rich beats down Sawyer then slams him into the steel post. Sawyer is busted open. Schiavone: Ok, with me now is Johnny Rich. Johnny, I don't know what that was all about, maybe you can explain your actions to me and the fans. Rich: Oh it's real simple. Mid Atlantic is not big enough for a Sawyer and a Rich. So Brett Sawyer, you better watch your back boy! Johnny Rich storms off as the crowd boos. Schiavone: Wow, not the same Johnny Rich I've known. Fans, lets go to the ring. Fabulous Blondes w/Rock Riddle vs. Lou Simms and Roger Murphy Riddle is all smiles as his team takes apart their opponents. Timbs hits Murphy with a series of knee lifts then tags in Crews, Crews hits Murphy with some shoulder tackles. Crews pulls up Murphy by his hair and tags in Timbs. The Blondes give Murphy a double front face lock drop and Timbs covers him for the pin. They head over to the podium as Tom Prichard joins them. Crockett: Well Mr. Riddle, you have the Agency's team looking good. Riddle: Of course they look good Davey Baby. The Fabulous Blondes would be on the road to the US titles if it wasn't for those B Movie cast offs, the Nightmares. I'll get to that in a minute. Now, during this last week, my main man here, the Doctor of Desire Tom Prichard scored a clean win over the Television champ, Terry Taylor. Crockett: I believe the match your referring to is the same match where Bob Roop interfered. I wouldn't call that clean. Prichard: Wait just one hot minute. I didn't need Roop's help. I had the match won. Now I got the win, so in my book that gives me the right to a title match. Excuse me Rock but I have to go find somebody that knows something about logic and go get me a title match. Riddle: You see Davey baby, that's a true star. Now back to my team here. The Nightmares come out. Davis: You're talking a lot Riddle, but my partner and I think we should finish what you and your boys started. The teams push up on each other. Riddle: Oh sure, come out and act tough after my boys just had a match. Tell you what, we'll accept the challenge, not that it's much of a challenge for the Fabulous Blondes. We'll take you on next week, here on TV. Wayne: That suits us just fine, but you and your boys better remember this isn't Hollywood and we're not actors, we're the best tag team going today and your worst nightmare. The Nightmares walk off. Timbs: Just look at those two buffoons, you people are looking at what real wrestlers look like. Crews: You said it! Riddle: (smiling) Ahhhh it's great to be around true professionals. Commercial Break David Sammartino vs. Bill Richards David works really aggressive in this match. Does a lot of choking and eye gouging. He kicks Richard's mid section then pummels him to the ground. He stomps away on his back then finally finishes him off with the Backbreaker Rack ! After the bell David keeps pounding away on Richards. The fans cheer as Pedro Morales hits the ring. He pulls David off and is holding out his arms asking him "what's with you?" David shrugs Pedro off and starts to leave. Pedro bends down to check on Richards. David comes back and kicks Pedro then starts stomping away. David body slams Pedro and continues his assault as the fans boo. David hurls Pedro out of the ring then kicks Richards on his way out of the ring. Commercial Break Schiavone: I don't know what's gotten into David Sammartino but he's going to have a hot Pedro Morales looking for him. Fans, with me right now is the television champion, Terry Taylor. Well Terry, Bob Roop has certainly become a problem for you. Taylor: Yea Bob Roop has gotten my attention. Hey Roop, you want a match with me in Greensboro, you got one. And yea, if you beat me I'll put this title on the line, here on TV brother. I'm not ducking anyone. Roop, you got a match with me. Tom Prichard, you want a match, get in line and you're next. Schiavone: Ok, there you have it. Terry Taylor ready for the challengers. Fans lets go to the ring as Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka is ready for action. Jimmy Snuka vs. Ken Jenkins The crowd is cheering as Snuka puts Jenkins down with a chop off the ropes. Snuka body slams Jenkins then climbs up the top rope. Snuka flashes the 'I love you' sign and leaps off, hitting the Superfly Splash for the pin! Snuka heads over to the podium. Crockett: Wow! Jimmy you look fantastic! How are the ribs? Snuka: Brothah, it feels good to be in the ring and as you can see I'm feeling better than ever. Kamala, you attack me and in Greensboro I get my revenge. Kamala, as the clock ticks forward the Superfly gets closer. Commercial Break Another montage is shown of Tony St. Clair Crockett: Fans I want to announce that in two weeks my brother Jim will be hosting a special televised press conference with the longest reigning British Heavyweight Champion in history, Tony St. Clair. Crockett Promotions is very pleased to have finally sign Tony St. Clair. Switching gears, just a reminder, this week in Greenville, the semi finals of the US tag tournament will take place between the Renegade Warriors and the Soul Patrol. That should be an out.... Paul Jones comes out. Crockett: Do you have something to say Mr. Jones Jones: First off, you can refer to me as number one Paul Jones. Now, as you can see I'm holding this cane. There's a couple of gentlemen who put this cane to go use against those underachieving Kiniski brothers. I gave them a test and they passed with flying colors. Let me introduce to you, my newest tag team, the Devil's Duo. Sword and Vines walk out and shake hands with Jones. Jones: These guys right here are a couple of real tough guys, true brawlers. All they need is a little guidance. I'm the right man for that job. Gentlemen, welcome to the Paul Jones Army. Crockett: I don't believe this, well it looks like number one Paul Jones army just added some soldiers. Fans lets go to the ring as the Mid Atlantic champ is set for action. Harley Race vs. Gary Williams Harley dismantles Williams. He lifts Williams up in the air and holds him in a vertical suplex position then drops him back. Harley stands up then drops a diving head butt. Harley picks Williams up and piledrives him for the pin! Schiavone: My guest, the Mid Atlantic champ, Harley Race. Race: Key word, champ. So far nobody has come close to beating me here in Mid Atlantic. Rocky Johnson tried but found out he wasn't in my league and that's exactly what I told him from the beginning. Rocky couldn't step up to the task. The fans cheer as Rocky Johnson comes out. Johnson: Ok Harley you beat me. You know I was in the ropes but I'm not going to cry about it, you got your hand raised. But don't go telling all these people that Rocky Johnson isn't up to the task. You give me another shot and lets just see who's up to the task. Race: You're wasting my time Johnson. I want a shot at the World Title, I don't have time to waste on a prelim guy like you. Johnson: Sounds to me your just a little scared of losing that title, then maybe somebody like me could get a world title shot. Is that it Harley? You scared to wrestle me again? Race: Watch yourself Johnson. Ok, now I'll just have to make an example of you. You want another shot? I'll teach you a lesson in Greensboro on the 25th. Johnson: Trust me Harley, you're gonna be taught the lesson. Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans with me right now is Ron Fuller. Now Ron you had a match scheduled with Brett Sawyer tonight but as we saw from the footage, he wont be able to compete. Fuller: It's a crying shame what happened to one Brett Sawyer but you know something Tony Schiavone, a man of my caliber and credentials shouldn't wrestle on free TV. The people should have to pay to see a wrestler of my stature. So if you want to see me wrestle then buy a ticket to Greensboro on the 25th and watch my brother Rob and I win those US tag straps. I pity those other two teams because whoever wins it wont be cause for celebration because they will have to face my brother and I in the finals. Fuller puts a cigar in his mouth Schiavone: So you had nothing to do with Johnny Rich's attack on Brett Sawyer? Fuller takes the cigar out Fuller: Well now that you mention it, the Stud Stable is always looking to expand. One Johnny Rich showed me something, something that just might interest the Stud Stable. Schiavone: Cryptic words from Ron Fuller. Fans lets go to the ring for a special appearance by Mil Mascaras as he prepares for his match against Ric Flair in Greensboro. Mil Mascaras vs. Carl Hillman Mascaras dazzles the fans with monkey flips, drop kicks and head scissors. Mascaras scoop slams Hillman then climbs to the top rope. Hillman staggers up and turns around as Mascaras hits a flying cross body block off the top rope for the pin! Crockett: Mil Mascaras looks primed and ready for Ric Flair, in what should be an all time classic in Greensboro. Thanks for joining us and we'll see you next week. Greensboro 1-25-86 Ric Flair w/JJ Dillon vs. Mil Mascaras NWA Tag Team Title Match Andersons w/JJ Dillon © vs. Freebirds Mid Atlantic Title Bout Harley Race © vs. Rocky Johnson Jimmy Snuka vs. Kamala w/Paul Jones Terry Taylor vs. Bob Roop US Tag Team Finals
  11. Another fun show. The 4 corners match would of been pretty cool to watch with the contrast of styles. The Fantastics are looking strong. Big win for Rob Fuller as he gears up for the US Tag Finals
  12. Great card! The fans didn't have a chance to catch their breath tonight. King of the Mountain and Rumble in the Bronx in the same week! Excellent job with the details and description for the Rumble. I love the way you let the new guys have their moment to shine. Great way to get them over in New York. Roma and Powers arguing was a fun spot. Huge win for Gino! Hogan and Hansen was a great set up with more to come. The cage match was epic! The Fabs manage to pull it out. I wonder who's next for them???

NWA World Tag Team Title Match The Andersons © w/JJ Dillon vs. Bob Backlund and Pedro Morales This match goes 45 minutes and the crowd was really into it. The match was hard hitting but stayed clean and technical until the end when Arn covered Pedro and JJ Dillon held Pedro's feet from the ground outside the ring. The Andersons retain the titles.
  17. The fans got their money's worth here with a lot of special appearances. Great seeing Hot Stuff Inc. in Canada. The Guerreros/Rougeau match is off the charts. What a fantastic main event!
  18. Fun card! The Sawyer/Saito match was awesome. I agree on the way you make the young stars look good while losing. Looks like Bock really helped elevate Spivey here. Sometimes one match can really catapult a career.
  19. I agree with Edger, I thought the same exact thing.
  20. Great shows! Loved the return of Ken Patera and seeing him team up with his old partner Blackwell. A Patera/Slaughter feud will be a lot of fun. The Varsity Club keep on rolling. How long will Pillman stay in? I could see Steamboat mentoring him. Larry Z and Saito looked really aggressive. Man I love that pair. Orndorff escapes again with the title. I'm sure Kabuki is going to be looking for some payback on Adams.
  21. In the immortal words of Jim Ross "Aww Bah Gawd what a great show"! Really appreciate the hard work and detail you put in to describing the King of the Mountain battle royal. What a brawl that was. Glad to see Butch Reed with a strong performance. The Luger/Warrior partnership was fun. Looks like Rich is getting back in the good graces of the fans. Duggan and Williams really went at it. Great finish with Nikita winning and setting up a heated feud with Luger and the Russians. Wow the Road Warriors win the titles in dominating fashion! Lawler retains but gets a beat down by the Nation. Lawler and friends vs. The Nation should be an intense program. Great show!
  22. MACW @ Richmond, VA- Coliseum 1-12-86 Brett Wayne Sawyer vs. Iron Mike Sharpe Sharpe does a good job of getting the crowd riled up as he constantly yells at them. Brett starts the match with a series of arm drag take overs. Sharpe takes control with an eye gouge and body slam. Sharpe works him over a bit before Brett mounts a great comeback. Brett hits him with a couple standing drop kicks, body slams him, then goes up to the top rope and finishes him off with a flying leg drop! Bob Roop vs. Nick Kiniski Kiniski shows off some athleticism by taking Roop over with a couple hip tosses and follows with a nice drop kick. Kiniski also shows some strength by scoop slamming Roop. Kiniski's luck runs out when he swings Roop into the turnbuckles and charges in, Roop moves and Kiniski slams shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Roop picks up Kiniski by his arm and pulls it over his shoulder (lifting Kiniski off his feet) then rams him shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Roop hits the Shoulder Breaker for the pin! 1st Round Match-US Tag Team Tournament Stud Stable (Ron and Rob Fuller) vs. Hot Property (Billy Travis and Joe Savoldi) The crowd was really into this match as Hot Property uses their speed and quickness against the big Fullers. The Fullers made the mistake of taking their opponents to lightly. Hot property makes quick tags and keep things in their favor. Hot Property put a double arm bar on Rob, twist and flip him over then follow with a double elbow drop. Ron runs in and Hot Property double hip toss him, Ron gets up and charges but is met with a double back elbow smash. Hot Property has the crowd going while the Ref is regaining control. The Fullers eventually take control and work the arm of Savoldi. Rob puts Savoldi in a hammerlock then body slams him. Rob tags in Ron, who drops several knees on Savoldi's arm. Ron swings Savoldi to the ropes, misses a clothesline attempt, Savoldi comes back with a drop kick, rolls over and tags in Travis. Travis cleans house with hip tosses and drop kicks. Ron tags in Rob. Travis side slams Rob and covers. Ron breaks the count, Savoldi runs in and drop kicks Ron. All four men are fighting. The Ref guides Savoldi to his corner. Ron clotheslines Travis from behind. Rob rolls over and covers. The Ref turns around and counts 1..2..3! The Stud Stable advances in the tournament. Non Title Match NWA TV Champ Terry Taylor vs. 'The Doctor of Desire' Tom Prichard w/Rock Riddle Fast moving match here as Taylor and Prichard engage in some good chain wrestling. Prichard takes control when he nails Taylor with a super kick! He follows with a suplex and cover but Taylor kicks out. A high point comes when Prichard clamps on the sleeper. Taylor gets out of it quick with several elbow shots to the mid section. Taylor takes control with a Jaw Breaker. Taylor suplexes Prichard over and covers, Prichard kicks out. Riddle distracts the Ref while Taylor picks up Prichard and swings him to the ropes, the Ref turns around and gets run over by Prichard. Taylor once again swings Prichard to the ropes and hits him with the flying five arm! Taylor covers but the Ref is lying on the ground. Riddle gets up on the apron and is yelling at Taylor. Taylor heads over to Riddle. Bob Roop charges the ring and nails Taylor from behind. Roop picks up Taylor and hits the Shoulder Breaker. Roop exits the ring. Riddle is yelling at Prichard to cover him. Prichard rolls over and covers. Riddle runs in and drags the ref over. The Ref slowly counts 1..2..3! NWA Tag Team Champion Ole Anderson vs. Pedro Morales A pretty fun match between the veterans. The match quickly turns into a brawl as Ole uses some illegal tactics. Ole follows with a series of knees, body slams and lots of choking. Pedro has enough and gets fired up. Pedro comes back with a flurry of punches. Pedro swings Ole to the ropes and a punch to the stomach flips Ole over. Pedro hits a couple body slams. Ole wobbles up and Pedro hits him with a running knee lift. Ole staggers back and rolls under the ropes on the apron. Ole is reaching for something in his tights. Pedro walks over and grabs Ole's head. Ole takes a big swing and misses. Pedro hoists Ole up for a back suplex. On the way back, Ole hits Pedro on top of his head with the foreign object. They crash down with Ole on top. The ref counts 1..2..3! 1st Round Match- US Tag Team Tournament Nightmares (Danny Davis and Ken Wayne) vs. Fabulous Blondes (Ken Timbs and Art Crews) w/Rock Riddle The Blondes are taunting the Nightmares right off the bat. 23. Two fun shows. It's going to be fun watching the Steiners rise. Love the Kevin Von Erich/Eddie Gilbert title match. I could just picture the heat Gilbert would get in that match. Funks vs. Fantastics would of given me my money's worth. Looks like Idol has the upper hand on Mantell right now. Ron Garvin is looking real good as Texas champ.
