  1. AWA @ The Mayo Civic Center, Rochester MN 9-18-87 Kokina defeated Stoney Burke with the Samoan Drop The Teamsters (Spike Huber and Dale Veasey) defeated Gene Ligon and Tim Patterson with a double gourd buster on Patterson Kerry Brown w/Rip Oliver defeated AWA World Tag Champ Snowman w/The Bruise Brothers- Kerry got the win with a small package. Atlas and Cameron attacked Oliver on the outside and rammed him into the steel post. Snowman clotheslined Kerry from behind. Atlas and Cameron grabbed steel chairs and got in the ring. Snowman swung Kerry to the ropes, Atlas and Cameron put Kerry down with double chair shots to the head. Kerry was a bloody mess and had to be stretchered out. How will this affect the Cripplers vs. Bruise Brothers World tag title match next week? The British Bombers defeated The Original Midnight Express w/Norvell Austin by DQ- Norvell caused the DQ. Afterwards, the Bombers stereo clotheslined the Midnights over the top rope. Smith then clipped Norvell behind the knees as Taylor nailed Norvell with a running forearm blast. The fans loved it. "Dynamite" DJ Peterson defeated Scorpio- Scorpio looked awesome using his high flying offensive moves, but in the end, DJ put him down with a flying shoulder block from the top rope. AWA TV Champ Nick Busick and AWA National Tag Champs The Technicians vs. Billy Jack Strong and The Quebec Coalition w/Frenchy Martin Action packed match that goes past 30 minutes. Everybody wrestled with intensity and focus. Busick and Strong gave the fans a few good power move exchanges. Technicians and Quebecs went round and round with aggressive scientific wrestling along with hard hitting moves. In the end, Frenchy hit Fleming's shoulder with the Quebec Flag as Strong followed with a shoulder breaker for the win. Afterwards Strong pointed at Busick and motioned around his waist. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. Tatsumi Fujinami This one more than delivered. The fans were all in as former AWA World Champ Steamboat and former AWA World Tag Champ and Crockett Cup winner Fujinami went all out. Both men pulled out their entire arsenal but couldn't put the other down. The match was full of chain wrestling, suplexes, flying presses, submission moves, multiple near falls, high risk maneuvers and pure guts. The 60 minute time limit expired and the fans gave them a standing ovation. The cheers got louder when Steamboat and Fujinami shook hands and hugged.
  2. Coast to Coast now has a legitimate claim for a title shot. Cactus unleashes all his frustrations and sends a serious message. Texas Red comes back in a big way. Can't wait for more Red/Bubba brawls! I've always admired your attention to continuity and history. That Smothers promo was a perfect example. Morton shows a lot of fire. The Diamond Exchange have taken Pacific by storm. Cow Palace, Rick refuses to be in his brother's shadow as he continues to impress. Smothers light is shining bright as gets the fall in one wild 10 man tag match! The Wild Things will no doubt be the future, but for now British Steel has a firm grip on their titles. I think Rose is on borrowed time. There's a lot of men gunning for him. I hope Teijo and AOD are well paid. Bomb Squad prove their title win was no fluke. Hennig scores the pin and just might be the next Pacific champ. Bock vs. Hennig matches always deliver! Fresno, Pierre and Cactus could be a barn burner of a feud. Man, Young is really trying hard. Anvil might be ruthless but he knows when to show respect. Harts vs. Sawyers is what fantasy booking is all about. Pillman and Brookshire prove the LHW division is still a hot ticket. Ed retains against Jarrett. Who else wants to see a Gantner vs. Gantner TV title match? I know I do!
  3. Damn, the Nasties mean business as they destroy the Patriots. Untouchables have been riding high, but the Road Warriors are in town! The Road Warriors are all the buzz right now but I'll also be keeping an eye on Badd Co. I can't wait for the RnR/Rockers collision. The tag team division is unreal! Poffo adds intrigue to the Savage/Jimmy Jam storyline. Abby and Kamala was the brawl we all thought it would be. Wild and Crazy! The finish cracked me up. Great stuff! Bring on Champions Carnival!
  4. Misty solidifies herself as a legit champ with that big win over Singh. Of course, the Monsters get in a post match beat down. Vicky chalks up a seasons win over Starr in a solid clean match. Give Kat credit but Medusa is in a league of her own right now. Trudy puts up a serious fight but Devine's veteran heel tactics pull it out. Velvet is lucky Medusa intervened, otherwise I'm sure there would've been a title change. Good heat between Medusa and Moretti. I really like your shows flow. They're in sync and clicking on all cylinders.
  5. Street gets his shot tonight. Slinker's martial arts skills couldn't save him from Boone's splash. Cyrus is making his presence known. Miss Linda has Dundee on track. Soul Man's big win over Bart moves him up the rankings. Good to see Hase and Yamada sticking together. This could be the next big team in the NWA. DWBs are going to pay. WOW! Flair and Street give the fans a 60 minute classic. Great stuff! It's nice to see Street getting a lot of love in the game. Greenville Haystacks beating 3 guys is always a sight to see. Haitian Sensation excites the crowd. Spartanburg Vice and the New Breed are vying for title shots. Adonis continues to get ready for Flair. Iceman stops the exciting Johnny Ace. After that win by the Brutha's, S&S better be on their A game. Stan the Man causes all hell to break loose with the heels standing tall.
  6. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 9-16-87 Lance Russell: Hello everybody and welcome to another exciting edition of AWA Major League Wrestling. A lot of action for you tonight including Tom Zenk versus Phil Hickerson in our main event. Also... Thundering boos as Tommy Rich and Baby Doll head out. Baby Doll: Hold on Lance, Wildfire has something to say. Tommy grabs the mic, but the fans start chanting "You Quit! (clap clap) You Quit! (clap clap) Rich: Shut up! I never quit! The fans chants get louder. Rich: Lance! You were there! You saw the War Games. I never said I quit! The chants get louder. Rich: Lawler! It's all your fault! Fans: You Quit! (clap clap) You Quit! Rich: Shut up! That's enough! Lawler! This isn't over! October 1st the AWA will be in your backyard, the Mid South Coliseum. That's exactly where I want it to happen. I'm going to end you right there! You and me! One last match! No DQ! I'm going to put you down in front of all your family, friends and fans! You're history Lawler! Damn it! I hate you so much! Rich and Baby Doll storm off as the fans continue to chant "You Quit!" Commercial Break Crusher Blackwell vs. Sam Smith Blackwell hits the big splash and it's all over. Commercial Break Venomous w/Gama Singh vs. Del Jenkins and Clyde Putnam Venomous pulls out some high flying offense before winning the match with a double snap suplex. Gama leads them to ringside. Resnick: Gama, Venomous has been nothing short of impressive and I'm sure they will get a title shot very soon. I'm sorry, but I have to ask you, what is your affiliation with Greg Gagne and why did you interfere and cost El Canek his International title against Mike George? I mean you hit him from behind with a lead pipe. Gama: El Canek was a disgrace to the AWA. He didn't deserve to be a champion. I believe in what Greg Gagne is doing. He wants to make the AWA great again. Well, myself and Venomous are all for that. If El Canek or anyone else has a problem with that, come deal with us! And I don't need a pipe to beat Canek! Commercial Break "The Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez vs. Curtis Moore In a pre match interview, Perez says he's looking for a shot at the International title. Perez looks smooth and wins the match with the helicopter drop. The fans cheer as Perez pumps his fists. WHAM! He's nailed from behind by LARRY ZBYSZKO! Larry stomps away on Perez, picks him up and hits a swinging neckbreaker! Resnick: Larry Zbyszko! What was the meaning of that? Larry: You know Alvin and I had some issues after our split. However, I was willing to let that all go. Then I hear him going on about how he deserves an International title shot. Well, I couldn't let that slide. If anybody deserves a shot at any title, it's me. Not that spudhead Perez. I mean come on! Resnick: Hey, he's a War Games survivor and should get a title shot after what he went through. Larry: (pauses and looks at Resnick with a disgusted look) Greg Gagne wants to make the AWA great again. Well, firing you would be a good start. Commercial Break Polynesian Power vs. Todd Rooney and Ray Glader Kokina hits the Samoan drop as Snuka follows with the Superfly Splash for the crowd popping win. Resnick: Great win guys! Jimmy, last week Carlos Colon challenged you to a fight, one on one, no partners, no managers. What do you think? Snuka: Carlos Colon wants a fight? He's got one brutha! Resnick: There you have it. Oh and Kokina, you haven't been forgotten. I've been told that you get an International title shot on Oct. 1st in Memphis. Great news indeed. Snuka embraces Kokina. Commercial Break "The Fabulous One" Steve Keirn vs. Gil Jacobs Keirn survived the War Games and comes back looking better than ever. He hits a devastating reverse DDT for the win! Commercial Break The Quebec Coalition w/Frenchy Martin vs. Neil Jordan and Stu Jersky The former National tag team champs aren't in a good mood tonight as they destroy their opponents. Charland hits an inverted piledriver as Lefon follows with a senton for the win! Resnick announces the Quebec Coalition will get a national tag title rematch with the Technicians on Oct. 1st in Memphis. Frenchy cuts an angry promo and says the titles will be back with the Coalition in a matter of weeks. Commercial Break Footage from last week is shown as Corporal Kirchner and Jesse Barr battle to a wild double c.o. they keep fighting then stop and nod to each other. Resnick: I'm standing here with both Jesse Barr and Corporal Kirchner. Kirchner: Jesse, I called you out here for a reason. I've been looking for a tag team partner and after what we did to each other last week, you're definatley what I'm looking for. I need somebody that's tough, rough, ready and a bit unhinged. Barr: You know, I've been through a couple partners here in the AWA and here I am all by myself, again. They couldn't hack it. What makes you any different? Kirchner: Because I know what being a partner is all about. I know what it means to watch somebody's back. You tag with me and I'll prove it. Barr paces swinging his bull rope. Barr: Hell, I guess I've got nothing to lose. Barr and Kirchner shake hands. Resnick: Looks like we're looking at an Uncommon Alliance. Kirchner: Resnick! I like that. Matter a fact, you can call us that. Uncommon Alliance! Kirchner waves the American Flag while Barr swings his bull rope around. Commercial Break Billy Jack Strong vs. Rory Wilson Strong presses Wilson over his head and slams him down. Strong picks up Wilson and hits a German Suplex for the win. Resnick: You and Nick Busick had a barn burner at Collison and in 2 weeks you will get a rematch for the AWA TV title. Strong: Busick! You gave me a fight and I loved it! I took your best move on the concrete and I'm still standing! Your times up. That TV title is mine! Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the glowing pink 'Beauty Shop' sign, then pans down to Brenda Britton. Britton: No time for small talk! I have big news! I wont be here next week because I have a very reliable tip on the whereabouts of Gerry Morrow! I'm coming soon Gerry! Ok, I do have a show to do this week and it's a good one. Last week we all saw the arrival of Professor Bill Ash. He purchased the contract of Kevin Kelly and is forming a team called the Honor Roll. Well, tonight, because it all happens here, we're going to find out who Kelly's partner will be. Please welcome out Professor Ash and Kevin Kelly. Ash and Kelly kiss Brenda's hand. Ash: Brenda, I can't think of a better way to arrive to the AWA then to be on your show, not once but twice! Britton: Awwww, thank you! Ash: As you know, my first piece of the Honor Roll is the Magnificent one himself, Kevin Kelly. Kelly does a double bicep pose. Ash: It's now time for the other piece. Introducing the beast himself, Rip Morgan! Kelly looks puzzled and Brenda backs up as Morgan comes out stomping and huffing. Kelly: Professor, I'm with you but do you really expect me to team with this monster? Ash: I sure do! Think about it. Look at the two of you. You both have size, strength and a mean streak. You guys will tear up the competition. I've thought about this a long time and you two together are unstoppable! You two are the total sum. The Honor Roll is born and I'm so confident in your abilities as a team that I've signed a match against the British Bombers next week in Milwaukee. The Honor Roll is going to beat a top ranked team in their first match! Ash is nodding with approval. Kelly still doesn't look convinced as Morgan continues to huff and stomp around. Britton: Ok, Professor Ash and the Honor Roll aren't wasting any time. Will this work? I think it will. Until next time tooooodles. Commercial Break AWA World Tag Team Champs The Bruise Brothers vs. Willie Lopez and Vic Dutro Snowman goes to the outside as Atlas and Cameron are on duty tonight. Atlas and Cameron annihilate their opponents and finish the off with double running axe handles to the head! The champs cut a promo while doing a lot of flexing. They say the Cripplers have no idea what they're in for in Milwaukee. Commercial Break "The Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol vs. Carl Kellerman Idol clamps on the Las Vegas Leglock and its all over! Resnick starts to talk but Idol cuts him off. Idol: Hold on darling! You're out here talking about the War Game survivors. Hey, I'm here! I survived and my team should've won! You praise that jerk off Keirn! That dope can't lace my boots on his best day! He aint fabulous, he's a nothing! From now on he's Stupid Steve Keirn! Cheers as Keirn comes out. Keirn: You know Idol, you have a big mouth for a guy that got busted up pretty dang bad in the War Games. Idol turns around, then turns back and takes a swing, Keirn ducks and knocks Idol down with a punch. Officials quickly swarm the scene. Commercial Break "The Z-Man" Tom Zenk vs. Phil Hickerson w/Norvell Austin Pretty good contrast of styles match. Zenk uses his speed and high flying offense as Hickerson breaks the rules and uses his brutality. Norvell gets in his interference whenever he can. A few minutes in, Hickerson swings Zenk to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash. Hickerson drops a big elbow 1..2..Kick Out. Hickerson swings Zenk to the ropes but misses a clothesline, Zenk swings back and hits a flying body press 1..2..Norvell hits the ring and kicks Zenk! The Ref signals for the DQ. Zenk staggers up and grabs Norvell! Norvell is begging for mercy as Zenk winds up. WHAM! Hickerson nails Zenk from behind! Hickerson and Norvell double slam Zenk and stomp away. Cheers as SCOTT PUTSKI hits the ring swinging a chair! Norvell sprints out of there. As Hickerson tries to exit, Putski sends him through the ropes with a big chair shot to the back! Norvell tends to Hickerson as Putski helps Zenk up. Commercial Break Lance Russell: Fans, next week in action will be Carlos Colon, the Midnight Express, Larry Zbyszko and much more including Bruce Hart taking on Scott Putski. Well fans, please welcome out Jerry "The King" Lawler. Mass ovation as Lawler comes out smiling. Lance Russell: Jerry, your team was victorious at War Games. What an epic match that was. However, Tommy Rich says it isn't over and has challenged you to a No DQ match in Memphis on October 1st. Lawler: Wait, isn't he the guy who quit? Lance laughs as the fans cheer. Lawler: Tommy Rich! One last time in Memphis sounds pretty damn good to me! It all started there and I'm going to finish it there. Lance, I would add an I Quit stipulation to our match, but Tommy already said those words. Lance: (Laughing) Ok fans, it's official. Jerry Lawler vs. Tommy Rich, NO DQ at the Mid South Coliseum on October 1st. I'll see you next week.
  7. Furnas comes in hot with a win over Brooks. Robley's monsters are unleashing havoc in Mid South. Fun story going with Gilbert and Prichard. These guys (and of course Missy) can pull this off with ease. Ladd will be counting money. Wright's Christians once again get the better of Spoiler and Baron. Tully's just to cunning. He'll be in the title picture soon. Freebirds retain thanks to the Christians. Man, Hayes has a lot of enemies LOL. I wonder how the Commonwealth will react. In an epic blow off, JYD, Wahoo and Williams stand tall after putting the Russians down at their own game. Great moment.
  8. Olympia gets the fans in a good mood. Boris is put over strong. Action and Uptown give the fans 15 minutes of work rate wrestling. Rematch! Ross wins one for the USA but takes a beating from both Russians. Ross is going to need an ally. Obviously Travis has some sore issues with the Richs and makes them pay. I'm liking this story. After a chaotic match, Los Mega Starrs walk out with the titles. Good call. Cowboys and Outlaws have one heck of a brawl with no winners. We have to get a gimmick match LOL. Awesome main event that tears the house down. I loved that finish with Barnes selling like a true pro. That's dedication. Twin States is back in a big way!
  9. Boone arrives with a splash! Glad Boone went to a good home. I enjoyed writing for him. Slinker puts his martial arts skills to good use. Slick's interference backfires and Jumping Joe takes advantage to even things up with the Brutha's. I hope Yamada and Hase don't get to discouraged. No shame in losing to the Andersons in their debut. Donovan gives McGee a match, but the Mega Man continues to shine. WOW! Hawk just found out, never underestimate Street's toughness. This is what made Street special. Commonwealth defiantly has the edge going into the tag title bout. Worldwide, Good showcases for Siva, Cyrus and the Bees. Lightfoot gets the TV title shot. Lightfoot's been on a serious streak and might be the one to dethrone the Mega Man. Bees vs. DWBs in a street fight. Bring it on! Can't wait for Wright's arrival. He had a tremendous run last time. YES! The Starrcade Cup is back. I thought this was a great idea.
  10. Johnny V and Platt's bantering adds so much to the show. Action Jackson arrives with his Jr. title, but can he hold off Uptown Brown? I'm curious to what Barnes had to say. Come on Lester! Oh, how this game's missed the Fiesta Garden! The Starrs make sure Blackstone's off to a rocky start. LOL, great heel move. Humps coming in with some serious Russian muscle. Blackstone gets a much better interview with Ross. USA! USA! USA! Mr. Olympia is coming home! On that note, Cooley's back and so are the Cowboys! We have a real showdown coming up. Fire and Flame make an immediate impact with a fireball, but the heat is put out with a suspension. Maybe Johnny's right, Davey shouldn't have moved LOL. Can't wait for the first big card. You've put together some great stories in a short amount of time.
  11. I'm all for a Kamala/Abby battle of the monsters! Looks like it's going to happen. Rockers look sharp as they tune up for RnR. Jayhawks attack the Warriors. Nasties claim everybody is ducking them. Patriots answer the challenge. Great way to get heat on 4 teams in one match. RnR vs. Savage and Jimmy Jam is a classic that ends in chaos. Rockers get one over on RnR but what might be a bigger story is how Savage will react to what just happened to Liz. Kabuki and Khan are not to be overlooked. Slater and Orton (along with Jones) are a slight notch above Casey and Irwin. I do think you're onto something with Casey and Irwin. The elimination match rocked! Everything you could ask for. Race stands tall in the end and it looks like the Untouchables will have the last laugh. HOLD ON! The Road Warriors are here!!!! NO WAY! That helicopter entrance was off the charts. Incredible moment that WCPW will be talking about for years.
  12. Gotta love Ladd. Honest and straight to the point. Looking forward to the Gauntlet match as well as Halloween Havoc. The game's entering into the pay per view era. Wright's CWA is getting so much heat that Solie needs a commercial break LOL. Kazmaier is back but he might be in over his head with Tully and Dark Journey. I have a feeling Tully's telling the truth. Could be all coincidental...right? Robley's monster dominates. I'm so glad El Jefe is back in the game. His Cartel is stronger and bigger than ever. I wonder who El Gringo Grande could be? Hot Stuff Inc. is slowly sinking. It might be time for Gilbert to cut ties with Missy. Too much trouble LOL. I do like the push Prichard is getting. Hayes finally shows up and out comes all his enemies. Then time runs out. This always works because now we want more. Ladd's defiantly delivering on his promises. Mid South is on fire!
  13. Outstanding job resurrecting Flowers. With the addition of the Sawyers, the Diamond Exchange are riding high. Well, speaking of resurrecting, Paul Bearer is born along with the neighborhood of evil. I got chills. WOW, the surprises keep coming. Pierre and Grizzly are out, AOD and Teijo are in. Rose was in total heel mode tonight. Morton and Candido don't solve anything, so it looks like more matches ahead. Super Strong Machine comes back with a nice win over Barr. Hennig's stock is rising in PCW. Great show filled with new faces, new gimmicks and surprises. Portland, Coast 2 Coast and the Southern Boys are so evenly matched, it had to end in a draw. Glad Smothers and Victory patched things up. Diamond Exchange keep their winning streak going with a big win over the Guerreros. Warrior beats his old rival Hito. The new members of the Playboy Club come through for Buddy. However, I think this is far from over. Poor Gary just can't catch a break. He's trying so hard. Gantner comes up short in his PCW title match but getting respect from Bock is pretty good consolation. Eugene, Eddie picks up a big time win over Jarrett in an exciting opener. St. Clair rebounds well from his TV title loss. British Steel helps Billy Jack get a bit of payback. Oh man, Sabu's win over former LHW champ Black Tiger is a big deal. Severn finds a way to put that crazy Cactus Jack down. What a way to end the show with the Bomb Squad going all the way with the Malenkos. Classic!
  14. Watts gives a fired up promo. He shoots back at Ladd while also announcing the tag titles are coming back. Not a bad way to start the show. After that win over the Curious George's, the RPMs would have to be considered tournament favorites. Dibiase offers a reward to find the man behind the Snake. This is getting good. Fun banter between Embry and Benoit. Oh Eric, I think you really should have read the contract. Wow! Luger defiantly got his answer from Muta. This fresh match up will make Watts some serious money. Murdoch and Vader are going to get brutal. I think Bruno's going to bring a lot to this feud. Really good follow up to Rage in the Cage. A lot of new storylines have developed.
  15. Misty solidifies herself by retaining over the former champ. Combs defeating Hosaka is a good step towards getting back on top. Moretti rebounds from her Medusa loss and shows she'll do whatever it takes to win. Exciting and fun main event. I just love the visual of Richter being all over the place. It did work LOL. Nice touch with the standings. That's some serious talent in the top 8. This shows how fierce the competition is. Anyone could rise up and take it.
  16. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 9-9-87 Poison's 'I want action' plays as all the highlights from Collision at the Coliseum is shown. The final shot is Jerry Lawler, Bob Armstrong, Steve Keirn, Tom Zenk and Al Perez standing tall in the cage. Lance Russell: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Well, you just saw all the highlights and boy did a lot go down at the Alumni Coliseum. Collision at the Coliseum was a tremendous success. We'll be talking a lot more about it throughout tonight's show. Now, a number of wrestlers who participated in that event, especially the WarGames match, are still at home recuperating. However, we have plenty of solid action in store for you. Corporal Kirchner takes on Jesse Barr in our main event. You'll see the new National tag team champs, the Technicians as well as the returning Bruce Hart. Plus, the debut of a new tag team, the Teamsters. And we'll be hearing from the still reigning AWA world champ Bad News Brown. Right now, the controversial new International champ Mike George is slated for action. AWA International Champ "Marvelous" Mike George w/Greg Gagne vs. Sam Smith Gagne arrogantly leads George to the ring. George is wearing a black boxing robe with 'Marvelous' written in gold letters on the back. George smiles as he unties his robe, opens it up and shows off the International title around his waist. Gagne smiles and points to it as the fans boo. Gagne takes the belt off George's waist and hands it to him. More boos as George holds it up high. After a pure showcase, George wins the match with a Russian Leg Sweep. Gagne then escorts him too ringside. Resnick: In a shocking upset at Collision, Mike George defeated El Canek for that International.... Gagne: Whoa! Hold on one second Resnick! What do you mean by shocking upset? Mike George is the most technically sound wrestler in the world today. The outcome wasn't surprising at all. So, what's your problem nerd? Resnick: (rolls his eyes) Great to have you back Greg. Gagne: Don't get wise with me. Resnick: Well, I will point out, it took interference from you and a lead pipe from Gama Singh to end El Canek's incredible and honorable reign. How Mike George won the title was far from honorable. Mike, you're not the same man I remember. Mike: Greg, you're right. This doofus has no respect and maybe I should give him a lesson. Gagne: That might be a good idea and I for one, would love to see that. Watch yourself Resnick and for now just shut up and listen. Months ago, I made a promise to my Dad, the great Verne Gagne, that I would make the AWA great again. Well, at Collision, my man Mike George has finally brought pride and prestige back to the AWA by winning the International title. We're going to represent the AWA all over the world and we're going to bring it back up to my Dad's standards. Mike, from the bottom of my heart, congratulations and thank you. This is only the beginning. Mike: Greg, it's my pleasure. This title is for you, me, Verne and the AWA. More boos as Gagne smiles while George holds the title high. Commercial Break The Cripplers vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez Kerry nails Lopez with a running high knee, then tags in Oliver. Oliver hops on the middle ropes. Lopez staggers up as Oliver puts him down with a flying forearm blast for the win. Resnick announces that the Cripplers are the number one contenders to the AWA world tag titles. Commercial Break Carlos Colon w/Curtis Iaukea vs. Todd Rooney Colon's wearing a bandage on his head from his Collision match. Colon wins the match with a flying clothesline from the top rope. Resnick: Carlos, scars from Collison are still visible but nobody can deny your guts. Iaukea: Of course you can't! Carlos Colon is here but where are Polynesian Power? This... Colon interrupts Colon: Jimmy Snuka! We have more to do! Let's finish this! You and me, one on one! No partners! No interference! Just you and me. I challenge you and I know you will accept. Commercial Break AWA National Tag Team Champs The Technicians vs. Ben Bauer and Ray Glader The fans give the new champs a standing ovation as they enter the ring. Technicians put on a wrestling clinic. Rheingans hits a gut wrench suplex and Fleming follows that up with the rear naked chokehold for the win. More cheers as the Technicians hold their newly won titles high. Technicians cut a promo on how proud and excited they are to be champs. They tell Resnick, they're ready for all comers and promise to be fighting champs. Commercial Break "The Calgary Flame" Bruce Hart vs. Carl Kellerman Hart comes to the ring wearing a singlet with flames on it. He puts on a good display and wins the match with the Boston Crab. Resnick: Bruce, it's been awhile since we've seen you. What brings you back to the AWA? Hart: First off I want to congratulate Mike George on his tremendous victory. I can't tell you how happy I am for him and my dear friend Greg Gagne. (Hart looks around and listens to the BOOOOOOS) Listen to these idiots. They obviously have no class. To answer your question, I'm here to help Greg's cause. I'm here to help make the AWA great again. Nick Busick! I'm looking at you and that TV title! It's going to be mine soon. Commercial Break Footage from last week is shown as the Glamour Boys defeat Phil Hickerson and Killer Brooks inside the Cage. That's followed by the Midnight Express storming into the cage and beating down the Glamour Boys as Hickerson joins in. Resnick: Joining me now are The Original Midnight Express along with Phil Hickerson and of course Novell Austin. Thundering boos as they stroll out. Resnick: We all saw what went down last week at Collision Countdown. Pretty low and cowardly if you ask me. Norvell: Funny, I don't remember asking you a damn thing Resnick. Resnick: Ok fine, Phil Hickerson, obviously your issues with the Glamour Boys goes way back, but come on, enough is enough. Phil: I'll decide when it's enough! What happened last week was a thing of beauty. It was flawless. Norvell: Resnick! I told you and all these dummies that the Midnight Express would get the last laugh on those punks. All we had to do was be patient. And then let the magic happen. The plan worked to perfection. I mean, it couldn't have worked out better. Phil gets the last laugh and so do we. Resnick: The Glamour Boys might be down but they're not out. Norvell, Phil and the Midnights share a good laugh. Norvell: Are you kidding me? Those girly boys are through! We won! Phil: Yes we did! Finally! Finally! Finally! I can live in a world free of the Glamour Girls. Commercial Break Footage from last week is shown as DJ Peterson body slams Commando Boone "Dynamite" DJ Peterson vs. Clyde Putnam The crowd's fired up as DJ hits a flying shoulder block from the top rope to get the win. Resnick: Ok DJ Peterson. Huge news for you. You've been given the opportunity of a lifetime. You're getting an AWA world title shot! How does that feel? DJ: This means everything to me Ken. I've worked my whole life for this and now it's going to happen. I know Bad News Brown is a tremendous champion and it's going to take everything I have in me to win that title. I've been training harder than ever and I've never been more focused. I'm ready Ken. DJ claps his hands and pumps his fists to the cheering fans. Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the glowing pink 'Beauty Shop' sign, then pans down to Brenda Britton. Britton: Hi everybody and welcome to the number one rated segment in wrestling, the Beauty Shop. Oh my, how about Collision at the Coliseum? Thanks to all my hard work, that event was an astounding success and the best part is I might have some credible leads on the whereabouts of Gerry Morrow. Don't worry Gerry, I'll find you! Ok, what a show I have for you tonight. There's a lot of buzz backstage, so let's see what it's all about. My guests are Beauty Shop favorites. I'm talking about "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly and Vinnie Valentino, the Vin Man, yea! Vin and Kelly give Brenda a hug. Britton: So what's going on Vinnie. I'm sensing something big. Vin: You're a smart woman Brenda, that's why we love you. As you know, Kev and I go way back. I have the upmost love and respect for this guy. I know how great he is, and apparently, I'm not the only one. A gentleman approached us last week with an offer neither one of us could refuse. We had a long talk over dinner, I'm talking a steak dinner Brenda. Britton: Oh classy Vin: Long story short. He has purchased the contract of Kevin Kelly. Britton: What?!?! Wow! What a bombshell! Who is this man? Vin: You're going to love him. Let me introduce you to Professor Bill Ash. Ash walks out wearing a cap and gown and kisses Brenda's hand. Ash: The pleasure is mine Brenda. Vin's told me so much about you. Vinnie, it was also my pleasure to do business with you. Kevin's now a member of the Honor Roll. He's my first piece of what will be the sum total of a tag team. Trust me, Kevin and his soon to be announced Honor Roll partner are going to change the landscape of tag team wrestling. Vinnie, thank you my friend. I'll let you two say goodbye. Vin: This is the best thing for you Kev. Kevin: I know you wouldn't steer me wrong Vin. Thank you for everything, we had a great run, didn't we? Vin: We sure did. Vinnie and Kevin embrace as tears roll down Brenda's cheeks. Britton: Oh my, that was so touching. Until next week, tooooodles. Commercial Break Scott "Powerhouse" Putski vs. Stu Jersky Putski puts down Stu with the Polish Hammer. Resnick: Scott, you've been on quite a roll of late but I understand you have a message to send. Putski: Phil Hickerson, you disgust me! What you and your gang of thugs did last week was a disgrace. Yea, you're a big man Hickerson. Let's see just how tough you really are. I'm calling you out! Commercial Break The Teamsters (Spike Huber and Dale Veasey) vs. Keith Romney and Jorge Cruz Teamsters enter the ring wearing jeans, work boots, sunglasses and hard hats. Teamsters put on an impressive debut. They hit a double clothesline on Cruz and finish him off with a double gordbuster. Teamsters cut a promo and say they're the new law and order of the AWA! Commercial Break Resnick: Fans, next week Jerry Lawler will be here. I also understand Tommy Rich will also be here. That should be interesting. I still can't believe the punishment they took in the War Games match. TV Champ Nick Busick will be in action, as will the AWA World tag champs the Bruise Brothers. I'll be talking with Gama Singh and his involvement with Greg Gagne. I understand Professor Bill Ash will introduce the other member of his Honor Roll team. All that and a lot more. Our main event when we come back. Commercial Break Footage from last week is shown. Nelson Royal is blaming Wendell Cooley for the Wild Bunch's lost to the Cripplers. Cooley hits Nelson with a running bulldog. Resnick announces that both Wendell Cooley and Nelson Royal have left the AWA. Barr's now without a partner and manager. Corporal Kirchner vs. Jesse Barr The bell rings but I don't think the fans were expecting a total brawl right off the bat. Barr just starts going crazy and attacks Kirchner. Kirchner fires back and both men engage in a furious exchange. They fight to the outside, all around the ring and back inside. Both men take turns pounding away on each other. Once again, they fight to the outside but this time the Ref reaches 10 and both men are counted out. They keep fighting, then just stop. Both men look at each other and give a nod of respect before exiting. Commercial Break Resnick: Please welcome out the reigning AWA World Champion, Bad News Brown. Brown comes out wearing a suit, no tie, button down shirt and gold chain. The world title's on his shoulder. He looks like a champ as well as a boss. Resnick: Congratulations on your tremendous victory over Ricky Steamboat at Collision. Ricky is a former world champion and that's quite an accomplishment to defeat him. Brown: Ricky Steamboat is old news! You're looking at the real deal. Aint nobody going to take me down and win this here title! That's a cold hard fact! Resnick: I wont argue with you. Ok, up next for you is DJ Peterson. Brown: DJ Who? Oh wait, yea I know who that spineless cockroach is. Does he really think he's got a chance? He's going to find out the hard way what Bad News Brown is all about. I'm going to beat that kid down so bad, he's gonna wish he never got into this business. And that's Bad News for him! The show ends with Brown raising his fist and title.
  17. The night's off to a good start with Dougie going down. I'm loving the Nord/Goliath team. Devastating. Wright and Stevens are in synch and racking up wins. Oh man, I don't know who's causing more problems, Missy or Michael. I do know the fans are getting a lot of great brawls because of them. Tully vs. Wahoo is a great match up. This one had a classic Tully finish. JYD rocks the crowd after that satisfying win over Uncle Ivan. Hard hitting Willams/Nikita match ends the night in chaos. Stay tuned for more.
  18. AWA releases Yoshiaki Yatsu AWA picks up Dale Veasey
  19. Great card in Charlotte. 13 time blackbelt champ, Ron Slinker returns to the game with a debuting win. The Haitian Sensation takes Zodiac to the limit. The fans might not like it, but Lightfoot's change of attitude is racking him up some wins. Stud Stable pick up a big win over the Bees as the tag team competition remains fierce. Speaking of tag teams, it's going to be hard taking the straps off the Warriors. Can't think of a better way to end the night than with a Flair/Double A world title bout. Jacksonville, Hase gets the battle royal win, but not sure facing Hansen is a prize LOL. Commonwealth are looking strong heading into their match with the Warriors. Big Daddy and Mr. Excitement pick up solid wins over very credible competition. Bees pull one over on the DWBs to allow Good & Plenty to score the crowd pleasing win. Hansen's going to pay for that. Landel better get ready because Dream has a score to settle. I knew Manny would be back. Great visual to end the show with these two wanting to tear into each other.
  20. Johnny V! It's official. He's going to be such a vital part of the show. I have to say, I'm pulling for Uptown Brown to be the next Twin States Champ. He's just too cool. Well, if you're going to resurrect Twin States, then having a Fuller/Barnes street fight is the way to kick things off. Nightmares get a spot for the tag titles, but so do Los Mega Starrs. This keeps getting better. USA vs. Russia in the 80s is always a sure thing. Cousin Johnny arrives to counter Tojo. Can't have Twin States without some Rich's. I bet Tommy's watching. Ron Bass arrives in a big way, however, Mantell might have an ace up his sleeve. Give Travis credit for enduring the pain. No shame with the towel being thrown in. Johnny V calling this a cowardly act was hilarious. Looking forward to seeing Mike Jackson next week. I think he held the Alabama Jr. title for 27 years LOL. Nice little addition with the credits, especially seeing Bleh's name. That got a pop from me. In 2 weeks, you've worked wonders with this roster. Well done Sir.
  21. Man, Ladd is riding high and sticking it to Watts. Mid South's going back to its roots means good news for wrestling fans. LOL, Uncle Ivan always knew how to put a spin on things. But hey, if we get a Nikita/Williams rematch, it's all good. Damn! Everybody's getting in line for a shot at Hayes. Robley's monsters, Wright's Christians and Hot Stuff Inc. Freebirds better get ready. JYD and Wahoo are fired up this week. I like the continuity of JYD's head injury. Gilbert and Prichard put on a 10 minute clinic. I like this match up. OH YEA! El Jefe and his Cartel is back and stronger than ever! They immediately get heat by attacking Mulligan. Even Dark Journey wanted out of there. Summer might be ending but Mid South is getting hotter.
  22. Flowers is back and this time with the Cuban Assassin. What a combo! Backlund lays down the law. Nice job throwing in some humor with the Coss comment LOL. Furnas is gone but Hart thinks fast and brings back the enforcer Hito. The surprises keep coming as Todd Morton returns to redeem himself. The Wild Things made the Southern Boys earn that one. Pringle and Payne aren't kidding around. Get ready PCW! Pierre is going solo and proves he's got potential by going toe to toe with Windham. I'm all for another round with Bubba and Texas Red. Vancouver, Bret gets the win with the Sharpshooter while Jim looks strong with the Anvilizer (Great name) I wonder which former Hart Foundation member has the better finisher? Hopefully we'll find out one day. Once again, Fit gets the best of Rose. Ok, the Diamond Exchange are for real with a win over former tag champs. British Steel rack up their first defense. Backlund seems to be in complete control. Kelowna, The Big Cat rebounds with a strong win over Burke. OMG needs the chain to take down Simmons. That might have been a big mistake. Yep, Akira is back on track. Poor Gary, I feel for the guy. Gantner gets in his first defense and it was a rough one. I'm looking forward to watching Gantner's hard hitting TV title matches. Speaking of looking forward to. Pillman is going to rock the LHW scene. I'm still in awe of what you've done with this division.
  23. AWA sends Terry Taylor to Mid South in exchange for Matt Borne AWA releases Killer Brooks, Grizzly Boone and Nelson Royal AWA picks up Bruce Hart, Spike Huber, Earthquake Ferris and Bill Ash (Manager)
  24. Like the others have said, awesome show! I love the Rogers/Shaw pairing. They beat Cocoa and Boone but may have some stiffer competition ahead with the RPMs. Benoit and Embry put on a gem of a match. I liked the finish and how the heel vet Embry gets one over on the blue chipper. The 6 man tag was off the charts and full of suspense. Props to you on the research for Steiner's finish. Totally backed it up. Steiner is going to shine here. Damn! What a brawl! The fans don't get an official match but they get one hell of a fight! What's going to happen when Murdoch confronts Vader? Will Muta challenge Luger? Superb storytelling. If you're going to blow off a heated feud, this was the way to do it. Dibiase and Borne gave the fans an epic conclusion. Even though Borne lost, he looked stronger than ever. Dibiase is red hot. And then we get the snake! Could he be coming? I can't wait. In a short amount of time, you've built this new Mid South into a must watch promotion.
  25. Very creative way to crown a new TV champ while adding intrigue to the US title bout. Misty Blue gets her moment to shine. She's a great fit as TV champ. Maxine gets a high profile win over Robin. Outstanding tag title match that ends with new champs. Singh might have missed most of the match, but she came back with a vengeance afterwards. Nellie took the chance but comes up short against Velvet. Props to Nellie for having the guts to go for it. The match the world's been waiting for. Medusa and Moretti in the cage! These woman deliver and put on a spectacle for over 30 minutes. Great finish as Medusa retains. The wait was worth it. Great match! You've done such an amazing job with the woman. Can you imagine how awesome this would've been IRL back in the 80s with all that talent. Keep up the great work.
