  1. Looking forward to the MACW relaunch. I like the continuity here. The fans in Norfolk are in for a huge night of action. Flair vs. Savage! I know Hawk will be watching closely.
  2. Great way to start the show as 4 exciting teams go at it. Black Gold pull it out and no doubt have earned themselves a title shot. Rotunda shows why he's the captain has he gets a decisive win over Adams. Big night for the Brigade as Windham follows with a hard hitting win over Miller. I would've got my money's worth watching Smothers and Hart go 20 minutes. Can't wait for a rematch. I couldn't wait for Simmons vs. Hansen. These guys gave us the bruising match I expected. Simmons put in a solid effort but nobody gets up from 2 Hansen lariats. Bigelow passes his biggest test with flying colors. Damn, what an awesome finish! Not sure Adams will be back after that. And now we get the big shock of the night. Masked Avenger viciously takes out Burke! Didn't see that coming (but I guess Cornette did LOL) Just what are Avenger's motives? Gilbert vs. Muta was defiantly a Firestorm money match. These guys went above and beyond. Both men shined. It took 3 piledrivers but Gilbert finally puts an end to one of the best feuds in the game. . Duggan and Rose take turns pounding each other and we get some Ref drama. In the end the crafty Rose wins it with his finisher. I liked this ending as it gives a lot of credibility to Rose's title reign. Once again Rain, you delivered an epic supercard.
  3. Black Bart is picking up some steam. When will the heels learn? You mess with Precious, you pay. Masked Superstars retain with a tainted win. I would like to see the Patriots get healthy and go for the titles again. Bad News takes a Soul Man punch and simply decides to walk away. Maybe it's time for a cage match between these two. Reed gets a crowd pleasing win! I wonder how Jake will react to that briefcase shot from Leduc? It would take a loaded purse for the Freebirds to walk away from Brody and Williams. Oh man Dibiase was robbed! I wonder if Magnum will give him a title shot? This night in Baton Rouge set up a lot more intrigue.
  4. Al Perez gets the night going with a battle royal win. Eliminating Sullivan was icing on the cake. Good job Al! What a crowd pleasing moment as Duk gets 5 minutes with Tojo and absolutely destroys him. Whatley retains with an almost clean win LOL. Whatley's TV title reign has been very entertaining. WOW! Scott Armstrong answers Embry's challenge. Embry pulls out a desperate lowblow to retain. I'm sure the fans still think he's a crybaby. TFBB win the titles! Both teams were built up so well leading into this match that I had no idea what the outcome would be. TFBB deserved this. Dirty Dutch is the perfect choice to win the Brass Knuckles title. Props to Brooks for giving him a fight. The dominant reign of Williams and Dibiase continues as they put down Karachi Vice. Somehow I think the Funks want another shot. Good grief! Jimmy Jack defiantly put the final stamp on Chicky. I loved this feud. Beautiful wrestling finish as Jumbo retains over Slater. You gotta respect the champ after that one. Speaking of great finishes, Magnum gives the fans one awesome visual as he hits the belly to belly off the top rope on OMG! Damn! The Labor Day show was indeed, spectacular!
  5. AWA releases Chris Markoff and Soldat Ustinov
  6. AWA @ The Mid South Coliseum Labor Day 9-6-86 Larry Zbyszko and Giant Haystacks vs. El Canek and The Cobra This match kicks things off with a bang. Cobra impresses fans but frustrates Larry with his high flying arsenal. Canek and Haystacks get a big reaction when they're in the ring together. At the 10 minute mark, Canek and Cobra double clothesline Larry over the top rope. Canek and Cobra start hammering away on Haystacks but can't get him off his feet. Canek and Cobra swing off the ropes but Larry nails Cobra on his back with a pair of nunchucks! Canek nails Haystacks with a flying shoulder block that reels Haystacks against the ropes. Canek sees Cobra is down. He then looks to the outside and sees Larry with the nunchucks. Canek dives through the ropes with a Tope on Larry! The fans are off their feet cheering. However, inside the ring, Haystacks regroups, picks up Cobra and executes a falling front slam 1..2..3! Winners of the match- Larry Zbyszko and Giant Haystacks Carlos Colon vs. Tiger Jeet Singh The match never officially starts and neither wrestler ever gets inside the ring. As soon as they see each other, they attack. They brawl all around the ring. They slam each other into the steel posts. They ram each other into the guard railing. They use whatever they can find to hit each other with. They battle into the crowd and then back around the ring. They don't give the fans an official match but they give them a 10 minute bloody brawl. Singh staggers over and picks up his sword. Colon staggers up and Singh clotheslines him with the sword. Singh starts mercilessly hitting Colon with his sword. Security finally rushes out but Singh starts hitting them with his sword. Singh puts Colon in the camel clutch and wrenches back with the sword under Colon's chin. Colon is spitting up and passes out. It takes about 20 security guards to get Singh off. Singh walks away but swings his sword at several booing fans. Official ruling- No Contest The Bruise Brothers vs. Priceless This match gets going quick as it opens with a pier six brawl. The rest of the seesaw match is hard hitting with impressive teamwork by both teams. Bruise Brothers get control as Cash sends Morrow flying across the ring with a jumping headbutt. Wells charges in but Snowman puts him down with a sphere. Bruise Brothers swing Morrow to the ropes and put him down with a double elbow smash. The Ref guides Snowman to his corner. Cash hoists Morrow up for a vertical suplex but Wells clips Cash's knee (with a vicious football cheap shot) as Morrow falls on top. The Ref turns around in time to count 1..2 (Snowman charges Wells and blasts him)..3! Snowman gets Morrow off of Cash and hurls him out of the ring. Snowman attends to Cash while Cash is holding the back of his knee while grimacing in pain. Winners of the match- Priceless Winner receives a World Title Shot Chief Wahoo McDaniel vs. Nick Bockwinkle Of course these two give the fans a clinic. Wahoo is hard hitting and rough while Bock works over Wahoo's leg. At the 30 minute mark, both men have been through a battle and are worn out but they continue to take it to each other. Wahoo limps around as he chops away on Bock. Bock fires back with forearm blasts. They have a furious exchange. Wahoo barely gets the upper hand and swings Bock to the ropes, Bock quickly comes back and both men's heads collide! Both men fall down but Bock lands on top 1..2..3! Both men are busted open and neither man is moving. Medics come out to help. Winner of the Match- Nick Bockwinkle The Rock n Roll Express vs. The Fabulous Ones Tag team wrestling at its best! This is one exciting and fast paced match that keeps the fans on the edge of their seats. Both teams shine with their high octane offense and crisp double team maneuvers. They're going all out tonight. After 20 minutes, all 4 men are fighting. Keirn pounds away on Morton in the corner while Lane punches at Gibson in the opposite corner. Fabs make the signal and swing RnR into each other but RnR grab each other's arms, spin around and dropkick the Fabs back into the corners. RnR charge in and pull off stereo monkey flips. Fabs start to stagger up just as RnR hit stereo sunset flips 1..2..3! Huge Pop! RnR jump up, hug and celebrate as the fans go wild! WHAM! From behind the Fabs nail RnR! Fabs put the boots to RnR. They swing Gibson to the ropes and double hot shot him on the top rope. They swing Morton to the ropes and double dropkick him down. Winner of the match and still AWA National Champ- Austin Idol Titles vs. Titles AWA World Tag Champs The Awesome Twosome vs. AWA National Tag Champs Cabin Fever Well Curt Hennig wanted this and he got it. Adias wasn't to keen on the idea and you can tell the world champs aren't on the same page. Cabin Fever take advantage and take it to the Awesome Twosome. They work over Adias pretty good. AWA puts Scott Casey and Sunshine on the block.
  8. The anticipated Beach Brawl has arrived! Scott gets the pin on Luscious but ends up going down to the Painacle. With a start like this, the fans know they're in for a great show. Zenk and Taylor retain with a smooth win over the Electric Blondes. The champs are having an enjoyable run. Wildcat is one tough dude but when a man such as Ron Bass names his bullrope, he's a master of this match. Armstrong's vs. Rich's sold a ton of tickets. I can't believe that ending! What a swerve! Only a mother could forgive like that LOL. Just when I thought the Rich's reached their heat peak, this happens. Bullet got screwed big time. Dusty gets revenge on Blackjack. Good placement as the fans really needed something to cheer about. Williams and Dibiase come to town and retain over the tough Highwaymen. I noticed Dibiase pulled out a slight heel move there. The Magnum/Nikita feud has been one of the best in the game this year. This match was insane and these guys beat the hell out of each other. What a visual as Magnum hangs Nikita with the chain to regain the NWA title. Can these guys survive another match with each other? Beach Brawl was a blast!
  9. Well Medusa found out the hard way, it pays to have friends. Mitchell and Devine start off on the right track. I like this teaming. Poor Combs is really feeling distraught after her recent title loss. Luckily her teammates were there for her. This will be an interesting story.
  10. Good stuff as WSW hits the last stops before Labor Day. I love how Tojo gets strong TV heat, then the fans get their money's worth to see him lose on the house shows. Very satisfying LOL. The Haitian Sensation and Latin Heartthrob make quite the team. Awesome finish. Zaibatsu gets the tainted win as Jumbo and Slater build more heat for their upcoming title bout. The Fort Bragg Brotherhood might be holding gold soon. LOL, those crybaby chants are really getting to Embry. Akbar helps Karachi Vice get a big win over SPC. Will Akbar be able to help his guys when they go up against Williams and Dibiase? Chicky gets in the final blow before him and JJF tear into each other on Labor Day. I said the FBBH might be wearing gold soon but after the Moondogs huge win over the Funks, I'm not sure anybody can take the Moondogs down.

Commercial Break "Diamond" Timothy Flowers/"The Ace" Art Crews and "The Hit Sensation" Joe Savoldi w/The Vin Man vs. Jerry "Alright" Allen/Scott "Powerhouse" Putski and Earthquake Ferris Fun 6 man tag with plenty of seesaw action. It's clear these guys are trying to steal the show tonight and they have the fans rock'n. After 10 minutes, a pier six brawl breaks out. The Ref is tied up with Crews and Allen. Ferris swings Savoldi into the turnbuckles and follows with a big corner splash. Putski swings off the ropes but Vinnie reaches in and trips him. Putski stumbles into a cradle by Flowers. The Ref sees this, jumps over and counts 1..2..3! Flowers gets out of the ring and pulls Savoldi out while Allen punches Crews through the ropes. Vin Man runs over and gives his family a big hug. Ferris, Allen and Putski clearly want more of the family. Commercial Break The Golden Boys vs. The Beasts of Burden w/Ox Baker Explosive match! Nothing pretty, just 4 brutes slugging it out. After a few minutes, Spivey is working over Morgan. He back drops Morgan then tags in Kelly. They swing Morgan to the ropes and put him down with a double back elbow smash. Nord runs in and the Golden Boys nail him with a double clothesline. The Ref guides Spivey back. Ox gets on the apron, Kelly runs over and grabs him and is ready to hit him but the Beasts stagger up and nail Kelly from behind with stereo forearm blasts. Kelly goes down and Morgan follows with a standing leg drop. Nord rakes Spivey's eyes and yells at the Ref to turn around. The Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3. Dream hits hard and stumbles into a back suplex 1..2..Dream gets his shoulder up. Snuka reaches down but Dream grabs his trunks and pulls him through the ropes. Dream distracts the Ref while Jones gets in some kicks on Snuka. Snuka finally gets on the apron but Dream runs over and forearm blasts him back to the outside. Dream goes to the apron. Snuka staggers up as Dream puts him down with a double axehandle. Dream does a little shuffle as the fans boo. Dream picks up Snuka and runs him towards the steel post but Snuka reverses it and swings Dream into the post just as the Ref hits the 10 count. It's a double count out. The bell is ringing as Snuka chases Jones around the ring. Commercial Break Brenda Britton is on screen. Britton: (pouting) There's not going to be a Beauty Shop this week because my pretty face is still recovering from that cheap slap last week by that lowlife Sunshine, more like Rainy. I'm here to say that Rainy is banned for life from the Beauty Shop and I'm going to seek legal action on her. Toooodles. Special Advertisement for AWA's next closed circuit event Friday, November 26th St. Paul Civic Center Commercial Break The Union vs. Soviet Steel Roaring boos as Soviet Steel are in the ring waving their Russian Flags. The Olympians hit the ring. Rheingans grabs Ross's shoulder and Ross turns around and blasts Rheingans with the sledgehammer! Everybody is in a stunned silence. Kazmaier looks in disbelief at Ross. Huber hurls Soldat out of the ring. The Union are explaining to Kazmaier that it was an accident. Ross throws the sledgehammer down and attends to Rheingans. Kazmaier grabs Ross and pushes him away. WHAM! Huber blasts Kazmaier from behind with the sledgehammer! Ross looks at Huber, pauses, then stomps away on Kazmaier. The fans are still in shock. Ross picks up his US flag and waves it over the fallen Olympians as Huber puts his foot on Markoff and holds his sledgehammer high. What just happened?!?! Commercial Break AWA TV Title Bout "The Great Gagne" (C) w/Johnny Valiant vs. "White Lightning" Tim Horner Valiant grabs the TV title from the Ref and exits. The bell rings. Gagne arrogantly walks up to Horner and looks him over, smirks and offers a handshake. Horner hesitates but extends his hand only for Gagne to take his hand back and shake his head at Horner. They lock up and Horner arm drags Gagne over. Gagne gets up and charges but Horner arm drags him over again and works the armbar. The fans are laughing as Gagne screams in agony. Horner swings off the ropes and hits a jumping elbow drop Ding Ding Ding The camera catches Valiant running away from the timekeeper's table The Ref signals for a DRAW. Commercial Break Lance: Well fans, I hope you enjoyed this special AWA TV broadcast. I was just as shocked as the fans after what went down between The Union and Olympians. Both the Olympians and Soviet Steel had to be helped out of here. I'm sure we're going to see more of the Beasts and Golden Boys. Nothing resolved between Snuka and Dream Machine. Gagne retains the TV title under quite a bit of controversy. I hope to have a lot of answers next week. Speaking of next week, listen to this main event. Scott Casey goes toe to toe with Jose Estrada. That should be a wild one. Ok, well as promised here's a rundown of this Labor Day's card at the Mid South Coliseum. I'll see you there. Labor Day @ The Mid South Coliseum AWA World Title Bout Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (C) vs. Billy Jack Haynes w/Ox Baker Titles vs. Titles AWA World Tag Champs The Awesome Twosome vs. National Tag Champs Cabin Fever AWA National Title Bout "The Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol (C) vs. "Rugged" Ron Garvin Winner gets a World Title Shot Nick Bockwinkle vs. Wahoo McDaniel Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. "Superstar" Bill Dundee The Rock n Roll Express vs. The Fabulous Ones Carlos Colon vs. Tiger Jeet Singh The Bruise Brothers vs. Priceless Larry Z and Giant Haystacks vs. El Canek and The Cobra
  12. Good to have you back Gene. As always, Killer Khan looks devastating. Bullet is fired up! His promo would defiantly get me to Beach Brawl. Nothing like a Rich family reunion. They're another group of heels that must be talking with Ernie Ladd because they brought up some crazy valid points. Their match with the Armstrong's is going to be a war. Oliver and Regal as the Electric Blondes...Genius idea! Spoiler finally gets his overdue title shot. Big tag team brawl to sell some last minute tickets. Reading this promo brought back 80s memories of Magnum and Dusty. The Gordon, Lanny, Woman and Man segments have become one of my favorite parts of your shows. Landel takes a beating from Stubbs. With all these distractions, I'm wondering if Spoiler is walking away with the title next week. Oliver gets some momentum going for his team with that win over Taylor. To the Farm Center, Spoiler is tuned up. The Rich's give Surf's Up a buzzkill. Lanny is 1-0 in the PleasureDome. Bullet and Brad weren't able to be there but Zenk and Taylor step in. YES! Highwaymen get the NWA tag title shot! WHOA! Khan sends Fujinami out on a stretcher! Didn't see that coming. Blondes take the champs to the limit. There must be a rematch. Wild main event as a mysterious mask man gives the heels a tainted win. All roads lead to Beach Brawl!
  13. Busick gets the fans going with a spinebuster slam finish! Easy Ed with a solid win over Taylor. Playboy is lucky to have an enforcer like Ed. Brickhouse's plan works to perfection as a fresh Hall cleans house and gives the Brigade that long awaited team win over the Guerreros. Dog Pound get a tough win over British Steel and even show some respect. When Severn and Jarrett started teaming I was wondering where this would go. Well, after that win, they might be heading for a title shot. Thanks to Pringle, Deaton gets the win over Vic. I think Vic will be back for more and Pringle better watch out. Iron & Steel vs. The Wild Bulls was a marquee match for me. I loved the brutal power match these guys put on. Iron & Steel pull it out and should get a title match after that performance. Damn, what a great match! Pillman is now a made man after winning his feud with Cowboy Bob. Another favorite was St. Clair vs. Finlay. Their match was as hard hitting as I thought it would be. My man St. Clair pulls it out but I have a feeling Finlay wont just walk away. Classic 2 out of 3 falls tag match ends the night. Badd Co. looked strong but the Harts take the final fall. Nice touch giving Anvil the shinning moment. Awesome wrestling action and that was only night 1! Bring on part 2!
  14. The battle of wits continues between Watts and the heels. Dr. Death and Brody, together! I wonder how the Freebirds are going to get out of this alive? Well, Hayes seems more than confident. I'm sure he has something up his sleeve. LOL, I knew Adnan wouldn't be happy with Reed. Snake vs. Reed is a great contrast of styles. Hmmm, I wonder how a great talker like Snake feels about being silent? I really liked Dibiase's promo. Calm, cool and straight to the point. Oh yea! Wild brawl to get things heated up for Baton Rouge! Freight Train has arrived and has some fuel left in the tank. Once again, hard to argue with Ladd's points. I know I would be pretty shaken if Ladd and Bad News made an ominous threat like that. However, Soul Man isn't scared and is ready to get down. Always loved a good parking lot brawl. They seemed so real. Will Johnson make it to Baton Rouge? While that's going on, we've got a group of faces set to even things up with Adnan's Army. Great build to Baton Rouge.
  15. Great opening segment. Tojo's promo, Duk getting ready to destroy Tojo, and the arrival of Super Strong Machine. The build to this was very well done. LOL, the crybaby chants continue. Man, I hope Embry loses his title just so I can watch him throw a tantrum to loud crybaby chants. Fort Bragg Brotherhood have some serious momentum going. Dang! Dungeon of Doom with an epic squash! I'll say it again, JJF vs. Chicky is going to tear the house down. Heels jump on the babyfaces to end the show. Nice last minute heat for Labor Day. Wild night at the Sports Arena, Duk and SSM kick off their feud which now leads to a karate match on Labor Day. Pride is going to give Whatley a challenge. Radiance pull one over on the Glamour Boys. Will Embry have his title long enough to do this again? Kernodle is a true brother to Kirchner and helps his partner get a big win over Jason. Well, Chicky couldn't of picked a better partner than Abby. OMG is the sole survivor as his monster push continues. Slater overcomes Kendo. Next up-Jumbo. Slater was impressive but Jumbo has been looking like an unbeatable machine. This time he gets a huge win over Terry Funk! At least Terry gets to send the fans home happy. Jumbo vs. Slater might be WSW's biggest main event to date.
  16. Cow Palace, Vic Steamboat is rising the ranks. Damn! Miller hitting Windham with the over the shoulder neckbreaker on the concrete was brutal. Duggan takes out Rose's number one henchman as he gears up for his title shot. Feud continues between British Steel and the Dog Pound. Brickhouse gets a nice win over Mando. I bet the fans were into that match. Thundercats put up a fight but the Midnight Express are in the zone. It's great to see my guy St. Clair in the title picture. Finlay ruins his chances tonight but St. Clair is going to make him pay! Fresno, Solid opener with Hart emerging victorious. Pillman is gaining quite the following. Hall shines in the tag match. Could we be seeing a breakout star here? Owen proves to be a worthy CA title contender as he takes down Hollywood Jack. I'm all for more Busick/Bubba collision matches. Candido and Tanaka put on an exciting match. Candido is dirty. Bam Bam beats Anvil in a fun match to end a solid night of action. Phoenix Firestorm is loaded! So many must see matches! Good grief!
  17. As always WWW delivers with another exciting Supercard. The tag team action was off the charts tonight. I love how everybody gets a chance to shine in the ring and with promos. Peterson and Majors come out on top and set themselves up as a serious threat for the titles. Richter and Peggy Lee remain champs but sooner or later Richter's arrogance might cost them the titles. Looks like the monsters have taken a stand against Medusa. Not sure Medusa will find many friends to help her out of this one. I couldn't wait for Combs and Moretti. Big time main event as Moretti wins the title!!! Moretti's build has been so well done. Looking forward to her well deserved title reign.
  18. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 8-27-86 Lance Russell: Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of AWA Major League Wrestling. We've got not one but two blockbuster main event matches for you tonight. Jerry Lawler teams with the Rock n Roll Express to take on Bill Dundee and The Fabulous Ones. AWA world champ Ricky Steamboat and Jimmy Snuka will clash with Billy Jack Haynes and the Dream Machine. As if that wasn't enough, the Union clash with Soviet Steel. All that and a lot more, so let's get to the ring. The Golden Boys vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez Golden Boys aren't playing around tonight as they take it to their opponents. They finish things off with a double gourdbuster. The fans cheer as they head over to Ken Resnick, who's standing by at ringside. Resnick: Golden Boys, I'll get right down to it, A couple of weeks ago, the Beasts of Burden attacked you and costed you a chance at the AWA world tag titles. Kelly: Beasts! You made a huge mistake and you can bet we're coming at you with everything we got and some! Spivey: Oh yea, Ox's boys are real tough when attacking from behind. Well let's see what they got when they go head on with us! Commercial Break Earthquake Ferris vs. Maurice Coolidge Ferris swings Coolidge into the turnbuckles and follows with a corner splash! Ferris grabs Coolidge and powerslams him over for the win! Ferris cuts a promo and says he's learned a lot from his recent losses and vows to get back on the winning track Commercial Break The Union vs. Soviet Steel The Russians stand in the ring waving their flags to the booing fans. A ring attendant gets in the ring and speaks with the ring announcer while the Russians want to know what's going on. Announcer: I've been told that the Union are pretty beaten up in the back and will not be able to compete. Boos as the Russians celebrate their victory. Announcer: However, substituting for the Union will be the Olympians. The Russians throw a fit as the Olympians hit the ring and pound away on the Russians. The Ref signals for the bell and the match is on. Kazmaier sends Markoff through the ropes with a big punch. Rheingans swings Soldat to the ropes and back drops him. Soldat bounces around and rolls out of the ring. The Russians regroup and get back on the apron. The match resumes and it's all Olympians. Kazmaier swings Soldat to the ropes and clamps on his big bearhug! Markoff charges but Rheingans tackles him. Wait a minute! The Union (bandages on their heads) hit the ring and nail Soldat while he's in the bearhug. The Ref has no choice but to signal for the DQ. Rheingans gets up and the Union put the boots to Markoff. The Russians roll out of the ring and head up the aisle. Resnick: Ok, I'm standing here with the Olympians and the Union. Ross: Brad, Bill, once again we apologize for costing you the match. Those cowardly Russians attacked us in the back and once again our tempers got the best of us. Brad: Look, we get that your upset and this was originally your match but that's the second time you costed us the decision. Bill and I are trying to get a title shot and this doesn't help. Huber: We know but we couldn't let them get away with this. They costed us an opportunity as well. But you're right, and we promise we wont let our tempers cost you any more matches. Bill: Fair enough. You guys get your match with Soviet Steel and end this. All 4 men agree and shake hands. Commercial Break Wahoo McDaniel vs. Neil Jurgens The fans are behind Wahoo as he wins the match with a tomahawk chop. Resnick: Wahoo, on Labor Day at the Mid South Coliseum, it's you and Bockwinkle once again and this time the winner will get a world title shot. Wahoo: You know I heard Bockwinkle out here last week talking about our strap match and saying it's meant for savages. That's his excuse for losing? Now he says he's going to beat me in a wrestling match. I'll admit, I took pleasure in making Bockwinkle bleed with the strap. I'm also going to take pleasure in beating him clean at his own game. He wants a wrestling match? I'll give him just that. Commercial Break Another music video is shown of Iceman Parsons. "The Iceman commeth" Resnick: Ok, I'm looking forward to the arrival of Iceman Parsons. Switching gears, my guests at this time are Johnny Valiant and the AWA TV champion The Great Gagne. Johnny, your man will defend that title next week against Tim Horner. Horner has been looking good here in the AWA. Johnny: Hold on a sec Resnick. You want to talk about looking good, check out the champ. Gagne is once again in full on Gatsby attire. He slowly walks back and forth like he's a model on a runway. He stops and holds up his TV title as the fans boo. Johnny: Just look at the man. Full of confidence as well as he should be. Gagne: Tim Horner, yea I guess I can say you're a pretty good little wrestler but it's comical to think you have a chance at winning my TV title. You are nowhere near my in ring level. Johnny, chalk another win up for the Great Gagne. Johnny: (laughs) Spoken like a true champ. Resnick: (Shakes his head) We'll be back with a huge match. Commercial Break Jerry "The King" Lawler/RnR Express vs. "Superstar" Bill Dundee and The Fabulous Ones This one never officially starts. Before the bell rings, a pier six brawl happens. Lawler and Dundee have a Memphis punch exchange in the middle of the ring. RnR and the Fabs fight through the ropes and brawl all over the place. The match might be a no contest but these 6 men give the fans and viewers a solid 3 minute brawl before a commercial hits. Commercial Break Resnick: That was some fight. Well here comes Lawler and the Rock n Roll Express. Go ahead guys. Morton: Fabulous Ones! The talking is over. My man Robert is healthy and ready to rock. On Labor Day, we're all going to find out just who the better team is. Boys, that's us! Lawler: Dundee! We will write another chapter on Labor Day. However, at the Mid South Coliseum, my hometown, this story will end and trust me, it's going to be a glorious ending for the King. Resnick: Fans, get your tickets now. Back to the ring. "The Wrecking Machine" Richard Charland w/Gino Brito Jr. vs. Todd Rooney Charland is aggressive tonight as he pummels poor Rooney. Charland finally puts Rooney out of his misery with an inverted piledriver! Boos as Brito leads Charland to ringside. Resnick: I know you've had some issues with Ron Garvin and I'm sure you're not thrilled that he eliminated your man Charland in last week's battle royal to get a national title shot on Labor Day. Brito: Garvin! Rest assured, this is far from over. Last week was a fluke and I guarantee that when you meet the Wrecking Machine one on one, he will simply destroy you. Charland bumps Resnick on his way out. Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the glowing pink "Beauty Shop" sign then pans down to Brenda Britton. Britton: Hi everybody and welcome to the highest rated segment in wrestling. I've said this a million times but everything happens here and tonight is no exception. My guests are the former AWA TV champion Scott Casey and Sunshine. Mega cheers as Casey (holding a bullrope) and Sunshine come out. Britton: (looking at Sunshine) Let's get something straight sweetheart, this is my show and I'm the queen around here. So you be a good little valet and stand back while I ask the questions. Sunshine smiles and backs up. Britton: Good girl. Ok, Scott Casey you're back after a brief hiatus thanks to the ever cool and smooth Jose Estrada. If I were you, I would of just stayed home. I mean I wouldn't want to mess with Jose and after what he did to you, you shouldn't either. Casey: That's exactly why I'm back. Estrada wanted to rekindle some history and he made his mark known with a cigar burn on my chest. Well you see this? (Holds up his bullrope) This here is my equalizer! Britton: Yea, big man, you need a weapon. You're not so innocent. Last week you jumped Jose and costed him his battle royal spot. So you're just a cheater who runs around with a lady of the night, if you know what I mean. Casey backs up as Sunshine walks up to Britton. Britton: You better watch your step lady. This is my.... WHAM! Sunshine slaps Britton as the fans go wild!!! Casey escorts Sunshine out. Britton: (In a daze with a crying tone while holding her cheek) Tooodles! Commercial Break AWA National Champ "The Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol vs. Gary Williams Idol is having a great time showboating and flexing before he wins the match with the Las Vegas Leglock. Resnick; Ok Austin Idol, on Labor Day, you will defend the National Title against last week's battle royal winner Ron Garvin. Idol: Ron Garvin? Do you really think a guy like him should hold a prestigious title like this? Come on darling! Austin Idol is from coast to coast the man with the most. Just listen to all the ladies out there. They scream and chant my name in the arenas and in their dreams. I've got more charisma than I know what to do with. So you see, a man like Ron Garvin just doesn't measure up. Quite frankly, Ron Garvin, you're just a bore baby. Boos as Idol gives the camera a double bicep pose. Commercial Break Resnick: Fans, as you can see extra security is coming out and you'll know why. Let's get to our next match. Tiger Jeet Singh vs. William Hillman Singh could care less about the security as he storms down the aisle, swinging his sword and knocking over ring attendants. The bell rings as Singh storms the ring and beats Hillman down. Singh hangs Hillman upside down on the turnbuckles and kicks away. The Ref warns him so Singh drags Hillman out and applies the camel clutch. The Ref signals for the bell. Singh wrenches away, then gets up, picks up Hillman and hurls him out of the ring. Singh goes out, grabs his sword and beats down on Hillman. Security runs over but Singh starts hitting them with his sword. Huge pop as CARLOS COLON runs out and nails Singh from behind! Colon hammers away as the swarm of Security rush over. They finally pull the two apart but not for long as they break free and start fighting again. Commercial Break Lance Russell: Wow, well Security has finally controlled that volatile situation. Come Labor Day, the AWA better call in the army for their match. Fans, next week you wont want to miss the big Labor Day show at the Mid South Coliseum. As far as next week's TV show, you'll see the Great Gagne defend his TV title against Tim Horner. The Golden Boys will wrestle the Beasts of Burden. Vin Man's family will be in 6 man tag action. And Dream Machine goes one on one with Jimmy Snuka in the main event. Now let's go to the ring as the AWA world tag champs are set for action. AWA World Tag Team Champs The Awesome Twosome vs. Arnie Goldstein and Dennis Taylor Adias looks more focused while Hennig seems to enjoy toying with their opponents. Adias hits a Russian Legsweep on Goldstein and covers but Hennig reaches in and tags himself in. Hennig picks up Goldstein and executes a Fisherman's Suplex for the pin. Hennig grabs the belts and gives one to an irritated Adias. Hennig holds it up then looks in the camera and says "Cabin Fever, you're titles are coming to us, the soon to be unified champions of the world!" Commercial Break AWA World Champ Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka vs. Billy Jack Haynes and The Dream Machine w/Ox Baker and Paul Jones The bell rings and Dream attacks Snuka as Billy nails Steamboat. All 4 men are fighting. Dream has Snuka on the ropes, backs up and charges but Snuka back drops him over the top rope. Jones runs over and attends to Dream. The Ref guides Snuka to his corner. Billy swings Steamboat to the ropes, misses a clothesline, Steamboat swings back and hits a flying press 1..2..Kick Out. Steamboat swings off the ropes but Ox trips him. Steamboat turns around and runs to the outside and chases Ox. Dream hits Steamboat but Snuka dives off the apron and nails Dream with a diving clothesline! Steamboat grabs Ox but Billy nails Steamboat with a double axehandle from the apron! Billy picks up Steamboat and clamps on the full nelson! The Ref reaches the 10 count and it's a double c.o. Billy wrenches away. Snuka is pounding on Dream but sees Steamboat in the full nelson and runs over to break it. Paul Jones whacks Snuka across the back with his cane! Dream staggers over, picks up Snuka and rams him into the steel post. Steamboat staggers up and heads towards Dream but Billy knees him from behind and once again clamps on the full nelson! The show ends. Labor Day @ The Mid South Coliseum AWA World Title Bout Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (C) vs. Billy Jack Haynes w/Ox Baker Titles vs. Titles AWA World Tag Champs The Awesome Twosome vs. National Champs Cabin Fever AWA National Title Bout "The Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol (C) vs. "Rugged" Ron Garvin Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. "Superstar" Bill Dundee Carlos Colon vs. Tiger Jeet Singh The Rock n Roll Express vs. The Fabulous Ones Priceless vs. The Bruise Brothers Larry Z and Giant Haystacks vs. El Canek and The Cobra
  19. Glamour Boys have been quietly racking up some wins. Jason is giving OMG a run for top WSW monster. The Haitian Sensation is becoming a star. Slick is really earning his money as he helps the Duo and Whatley win their matches. Poor Perez took quite a beating from Spot's bone. I'm sure the Latin Heartthrob will live to fight another day. Fort Bragg Brotherhood might be the toughest team in the game after beating Sullivan and Abby in a tornado match. Hmmmm, no Tojo with Duk. Kendall continues to look strong. OK, I'm so looking forward to the Labor Day match between Chicky and JJF. That's going to be a barn burner! Mantell wont take that loss to Brooks lightly. Akbar might of made a huge mistake. WHOA! Even though he needed brass knuckles, beating Terry Funk might be Chicky's biggest win ever. Jumbo looks almost unbeatable. Will Slater be able to dethrone him? I can't wait to find out.
  20. LOL, Norvell takes advantage and gets one over on Tatum. Good night for Blackwell as he wins a match and puts the Masked Yankee down. Speaking of good nights, Patriots do their part and get another shot at the Masked Superstars titles. Reed and Race is one bad duo. They take down Snake and Leduc, then Reed gets icing on the cake by handing out some of Adnan's money to the kids. I can't wait to hear Adnan's next promo. Thanks to Ladd's big boot, Bad News retains over the Soul Man. BOOOOOOO! Dibiase gets the pin and earns himself a golden opportunity. I'm all for a Nikita/Dibiase title match. WOW! As if Hayes didn't already have enough heat, he obliterates Gordy with a chair. It's going to be big money when a fully healthy Gordy gets his shot at Hayes. The NWA is going strong with so many great storylines.
  21. Hot tag match kicks things off. Orton and Deaton get the win. However, Pillman and Steamboat will each get another chance at Firestorm. Mega Man might of lost the match but getting respect from Hector is a pretty big deal. Ito feels the wrath of Gilbert. Gilbert is focused and ready for Muta. Gilbert vs. Muta might steal the show. Wild Bulls strike again but this time Iron & Steel hit the ring and fire back. I can't wait for that hard hitting match. The British get a big time win over Easy Ed and Champ Buddy Rose. If Rose gets past Duggan, he has a couple stiff challenges ahead.
  22. Reed is the man! Ivan gets what he wants be there's a catch. Huge opportunity for Williams and Dibiase. Watts gives Ladd some bad news. Soul Man gets his shot! I will never get tired of the Watts/Ladd bantering. Patriots capitalize on Tatum's interaction with the fans. Can the Patriots pull off solo wins against the Superstars? Bart's in serious trouble. Nothing would put fear in me more than a pissed off Brody. LOL, I wonder what Fergie is up to? I love how everybody finds something fun for him to do in their territory. Besides Tommy Rich, Michael Hayes might be the most hated man in wrestling. The lights out match guarantees a Lake Front Arena sell out. This story is what it's all about. Jake DDT's his way to a title shot with Reed.
  23. Always a fan of the battle royal. Defiantly a golden opportunity on Labor Day. Haitian Sensation is really getting over. Looking forward to his match with Whatley. Loving the "crybaby" gimmick for Embry. The water works might come out on Labor Day. Karachi Vice is tuned up for their big world tag team match. Jimmy Jack is fired up and ready to fight. Chicky better bring it. Glamor Boys end the show on a high note. To the Sports Arena, The hockey mask gets the best of Freight Train's hard head. Brooks remains solid muscle for Akbar. The tension is building between Duk and Tojo. SPC send Radiance into a full blown tantrum LOL. I would of loved to have seen that Kernodle/Sullivan taped fist match. That dang Golden Spike strikes again. Oh man after what JJF did to Kendo, Chicky might want to pack his bags and skip their Labor Day match. Kendall survives round 1 against OMG, thanks to a wild brawl. I think a rematch looms. Slater and the Funks get the win but Slater falls to the Tiger Suplex. Man I cant wait for their big match. Just 2 more weeks!
  24. AWA @ The Auditorium, Minneapolis MN 8-21-86 Scott "Powerhouse" Putski and "The Hit Sensation" Joe Savoldi w/The Vin Man battled to a 10 minute draw The Olympians defeated Soviet Steel- Bill Kazmaier held Markoff in a bearhug while Rheingans executed a gut wrench suplex on Soldat for the win. "The Wrecking Machine" Richard Charland w/Gino Brito Jr. defeated Earthquake Ferris- Ferris went for a splash in the corner but Charland ran forward and put Ferris down with a clothesline then covered him with his feet on the ropes for the win. Carlos Colon defeated Rene Goulet with the figure four. After the match, Tiger Jeet Singh ran out and attacked Colon! The 2 men had another brawl around the arena until a swarm of security broke them up. "The Ace" Art Crews w/The Vin Man defeated Jerry "Alright" Allen- Allen was going for a superplex but Vin Man tripped him. Crews fell on top and covered him while Vinnie held onto Allen's boots. Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and The Dream Machine w/Paul Jones battled to a Double C.O. Billy Jack Haynes and The Beasts of Burden w/Ox Baker defeated AWA World Champ Ricky Steamboat and AWA National Tag Champs Cabin Fever- Action packed hard hitting match that ended during a pier six brawl. Steamboat and Billy Jack were fighting on the outside. Boone and Morgan were trading fists in the corner. Ox Baker hit Manny Fernandez with a chair and Nord followed with a big boot to get the win. Jerry "The King" Lawler/Chief Wahoo McDaniel and The RnR Express defeated Nick Bockwinkle/"Superstar" Bill Dundee and The Fabulous Ones- This match goes over 45 minutes and everybody gets a chance to shine. Wahoo and Bock are the legal men. Wahoo puts Bock down with a tomahawk chop and covers but The Fabs and Dundee run in. Lawler pounds away on Dundee while RnR take it to The Fabs. Bock gets up and takes a swing at Wahoo but Wahoo ducks and atomic drops him into Dundee. Bock staggers back and Wahoo rolls him up for the 1..2..3!
  25. Medusa pulls it out but Bennett really tested her. Looks like Singh is about done wit Medusa's antics. I'm keeping an eye on that. Solid tag match as the babyfaces outlast the heels. Winona and Starr are serious contenders. Great main event with some heat. Combs vs. Moretti is going to be money!
