AWA Major League Wrestling
AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 2-21-90 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Tonight you'll see The Takano Dragons take on the Starr Cousins. Tom Brandi faces Ken Patera. And don't forget tomorrow night here on Sports Channel America, you will see Title Night from Winnipeg. But right now, let's get to the ring. Bobby Blaze vs. Neil Jordan Blaze takes care of business and wins the match with a Northern Lights Suplex. Nelson asks Blaze about his issues with King Kaluah and Blaze says the issues are still there and will get settled soon enough in the ring. Commercial Break Good Vibrations w/The Vin Man vs. Sam Smith and Joe Bellows Vinnie celebrates as Beach slams Bellows and Jammer follows with the California Splash for the win. Nelson: Vinnie, as you know the tag team division in the AWA is more competitive than ever. Last week your team and the Power Twins went to a draw, but the Power Twins certainly got the last laugh. Vin: Come on Larbo, is everything a joke to you? Those two muscled up lame brains are going to pay a hefty price for tossing me around like that. Good Vibrations are going to get the last laugh by kicking sand into those dopes faces! Commercial Break 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. 'Olympian' Ken Patera w/Brad Rheingans Brandi's still trying to get back on the winning track while Patera is currently enjoying a pretty good singles run. Brandi starts off strong and seems to be focused and pumped up. A distraction by Rheingans is all Patera needs to take control. Patera dominates with some power moves and seems to want to put a hurting on Brandi. Rheingans also gets in a lot of cheap shots. Patera decides to give the fans some poses. Patera hoists Brandi up for a slam but Brandi cradles Patera 1..2..3!!!! HUGE POP! Patera hops up and Rheingans hits the ring, but Brandi rolls out and celebrates with the fans. The Olympians are having a melt down while the fans continue to celebrate with Brandi. This is just what Brandi needed. Commercial Break The Soul Patrol vs. Trent Watkins and Dale Renner Jones swings Renner to the ropes and gives him a punch to the stomach as Walker comes off the top rope with a sunset flip for the win. The Soul Patrol cut a promo and say Hulk Hogan will take care of Debeers at Title Night and the Commission better be on high alert. Commercial Break King Kaluah vs. Arnie Goldstein Kaluah wins the match with a hot shot on the top rope. Kaluah cuts a promo and says Bobby Blaze is certainly playing with fire and will get burned. Commercial Break Brenda Brittan is on screen and says next week AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow will have a major announcement regarding the next pay per view, Champagne Slam. Nelson: I'm definitely looking forward to the Champagne Slam announcement. Ok, with me now is El Canek. This man recently returned from a successful tour of Mexico... BOOOOOOOOOS as Greg Gagne walks out. Nelson: Really Greg? Why can't you just leave well enough alone? Gagne: Are you kidding me Nelson? After all the hell this masked moron put me through, you want me too just walk away? That's not going to happen. You see, I promised a giant surprise and Greg Gagne always keeps his promises. (looks at Canek) You're doomed! WHAM!!! From behind, Canek is blasted by KING KONG BUNDY!!! Bundy pounds away on Canek, then rolls him in the ring. Bundy swings Canek into the corner and follows with an avalanche! Canek falls forward and down. Bundy swings off the ropes and follows with a BIG splash! Bundy gets up, swings off the ropes and hits another BIG splash! Gagne: (smiling) Well, I guess that takes care of that. Commercial Break Nelson: I can't believe what we just witnessed! Greg Gagne is the most cowardly and sick man I've ever met. I can't believe he had King Kong Bundy do his dirty work. El Canek was helped out of here and he looked in bad shape. My goodness, I hope he'll be ok. Well, let's go to the ring. Commercial Break 'Lionheart' Tony St. Clair vs. Marvin Rey St. Clair executes the floating butterfly suplex and it's all over. Nelson: Tony, it seems Les Thornton and Johnny Smith aren't through yet. Thornton even called you a traitor. Tony: Yes I heard that. Look, I went back to my roots and want to bring the UK pride back. If anything, Thornton is disgracing the UK. I'll take care of him and Johnny and be the wrestler the UK can be proud of. Commercial Break The Takano Dragons vs. Chicky and Ron Starr Both teams are in the tag title hunt and a big win here could propel one of them to a title shot. Takanos work well and have the Starrs reeling. Starrs manage to come back and control things. The Starrs double slam George and follow with stereo elbow drops but can't put George away. George eventually makes the hot tag and Shunji pinballs the Starrs all over the ring. Thanks to some cheating, the Starrs regain control. While Chicky is in the ring, the SWORDS OF LIGHT run out and yank Ron off the apron and start pounding away on him. Chicky sees this and gets distracted. Shunji tags in George. Chicky tries to go to the outside, but George pushes Chicky to the ropes and rolls him up 1..2..3!! Chicky pops up and goes to the outside, but the Swords pound away on him too. The show ends with a music montage of the Hulk Hogan/Col Debeers feud See you at Title Night

SNME is going to rock with Bossman and Nailz going after that nightstick. "Yella bellied mongoloid" LOL Funk did throw out the best insults. I hope Funk and Dusty feud for a while. Snuka wants some revenge. I could visualize the craziness and intensity of that promo. WOW! Watch out WWF, the Samoans have arrived! SNME gets even better with an 8 man tag. Maybe Tugboat can be the man to stop Earthquake. WrestleMania always showcased celebrities. I have a lot of fun booking celebs for my biggest events. So, it's cool to see you doing this. Always a nice touch to make the event look like an extravaganza. Demolition saves Warrior and keeps the heat on their feud with POP.

AWA Major League Wrestling
AWA @ The Allen County Coliseum 2-16-90 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. Jimmy 'The Stud' Golden Brandi has fallen on some hard times since losing the TV title and is still looking to get back on track. Unfortunately, he's up against the man who put Leo Burke in the hospital. Brandi goes off with some high flying and exciting moves and gets several near falls. Golden turns the tide with a low blow out of the Ref's sight. Golden puts a pounding on Brandi and finishes him off with a piledriver. 'Olympian' Ken Patera w/Brad Rheingans vs. Bobby Blaze Blaze has been off to a good start in the AWA and his future is bright. He currently has a grudge to settle with King Kaluah, but tonight he's up against Patera and needs to focus on both him and Rheingans. Blaze puts up a valiant effort and showed off some tremendous talent, but thanks to a cheap shot from Rheingans, Patera was able to put his power to work and defeat Blaze with a full nelson slam. The Mavericks (Eric Embry and Gary Young) vs. The Jive Tones (Shaska Whatley and Skip Young) w/Tiger Conway Jr. The Jive Tones blamed their tournament loss to the Swords on the Mavericks because they said thanks to Embry's chair shot on Conway the week prior, they lost focused. I guess the Jive Tones forgot that it was Conway who brought the chair in the ring which gave the Jive Tones a cheap DQ over the Mavericks, which caused their elimination. Tonight's match is a heated fight. During a pier six brawl, Conway tries to interfere but it backfires when Gary Young atomic drops Whatley into Conway. Embry gives Whatley a running bulldog (and dropkicks Skip Young in the process) which gives the Mavericks the win. Cactus Jack vs. 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer This has been a bizarre feud. Jack's AWA debut was an attack on Sawyer. Sawyer got the win in their first match up. That didn't seem to bother Jack, because he attacked Sawyer again on TV last week. These guys brawl all over the place and both men bleed. They end up fighting on the outside (again) Jack suplexes Sawyer on the concrete. Jack goes on the apron and runs off with an elbow drop to the outside, but Sawyer out of instinct rolls out of the way at the last second. Sawyer slowly rises, picks up Jack and powerslams him over on the concrete! Sawyer rolls into the ring as the Ref hits the 10 count. Jack refuses help to the back. He gives a weak smile and makes the bang bang signal with his hands. This guy is nuts. The Soul Patrol (Mike Jones and Bobby Walker) vs. The Commission (Sgt. Kruger and Sgt. DeKlerk) Debeers went out and recruited his soldiers, the Commission to help in the cause. The Soul Patrol immediately became a target when they stopped the Commission from helping Debeers in his attack on Hulk Hogan. Soul Patrol gel well and fluster the Commission with some high octane offense. The Commission come back and heel it up with double team moves and flagrant rule breaking. DeKlerk goes for a cover on Walker but after being fed up with the constant cheating, Jones runs in and breaks the pin attempt. Krueger runs in but Jones punches him back. The Ref guides Jones back. This allows the Commission to give Walker a double rib breaker. The Ref turns around, runs over and counts 1..2..3! Brutus Beefcake vs. The Hangman w/Nell Beefcake was riding high after surviving the elimination match at SuperClash. Things came crashing down when Nell decided to target Beefcake and sent the Hangman after him. The Hangman lived up to his name when he literally hung Beefcake with his noose over the top rope. This set something off in Beefcake and he has vowed revenge. For some reason Beefcake sets a chair on the apron. The bell rings. Nell is calmly scolding Beefcake. Beefcake grabs that chair and hits Hangman over the head! The Ref signals for the DQ. Nell is shocked and quickly exits the ring. Beefcake just starts hitting Hangman with the chair. Beefcake looks out at Nell and gives him a maniacal smile, then continues to hit Hangman with the chair. Officials and Security swarm the ring. I think Beefcake has snapped. 'Lionheart' Tony St. Clair vs. 'The British Bomber' Johnny Smith w/Les Thornton Since SuperClash, Thornton has called St. Clair a traitor and says Smith will bring the pride back to the Parliament. These two give the fans a 30 minute classic. It's technical, hard hitting and intense. After putting each other through the ultimate test, both men get a second wind and go on a brutal European uppercut exchange. Smith gets the upper hand and goes for a German Suplex, but St. Clair reverses it and executes a bridging back suplex for the pin. The fans cheer as Thornton gives St. Clair a stern stare. Thornton mouths the words "This isn't over"

UWF Newborn
Sorry for the late response. I don't know how I missed this post. The UWF is on pace for an explosive 1990 Backlund is adding some intense fire by demanding a title shot. I would pay top dollar to see that. Ogawa is rapidly on the rise Fujinami is back with a vengeance as he pulls off a gigantic win over Maeda. What a match! I'm sure the UWF is already counting the money for a rematch Poor Sayama and the UWF title had to follow Fujinami and Maeda. Sayama's reign is off to a good start, but man does he have a lot of contenders waiting in line

Bittersweet decision for Lee and Z but hey at least the fans get to see another great match Gossett really has been stricken by the love bug but I don't think Tasha feels the same LOL. Meanwhile, Falk's still hoping for that first win One thing's for sure, I wouldn't want to be Bobby Starr OH YEA! Gypsy Joe shows up but unfortunately, we don't get to see the brawl on TV. Classic formula to get the fans to the arena

Fun card in Philly Genius, Prichard and Saito get showcased well The Rougeaus have been a blast in our world. The fact that they're holding the US titles is priceless Rhodes wins the battle of the Outlaws. However, he still has Funk to deal with Nailz spoils Bossman's chance at the title. Great heat here. Their showdown is going to be explosive

World Championship Wrestling
With Luger, Sting, Flair and Muta, the world title scene has been a lot of fun and chaos. It all comes down to Luger and Flair at WrestleWar. Nikita overcomes a game Pillman to win the US title. As AD pointed out, this adds more intrigue to the world title since Nikita is the number one contender. Also loved the continuity with the Horsemen's issues with Pillman. Another big match up will be the Road Warriors and Rockers. Who will reign supreme? Smith and Owen vs. Power and Glory could be a show stealer but then again we've got Muta vs. Liger. Damn, WrestleWar is stacked!

AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 2-15-90 Larry Nelson: Hello everyone and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Tonight you'll see the world tag team title contender's tournament finals as the Swords of Light take on the Destruction Crew. El Canek returns from his tour of Mexico. The Power Twins clash with Good Vibrations. AWA International champ Terry Taylor teams with the AWA National tag champs Latin Desire to take on David Sammartino and the Renegade Warriors. I hope security is on alert because Stan Hansen is back. And the AWA world champion, the immortal Hulk Hogan will be here! Tag Team Contender's Tournament Finals Winners will get an AWA World Tag Team Title shot at Title Night The Swords of Light vs. The Destruction Crew After defeating 2 teams to get here, it all comes down to this. Both teams look ready to go as they enter the ring. The bell rings and the Destruction Crew blindside the Swords. They hammer away and stereo swing the Swords to the ropes and go for back drops but the Swords stereo leapfrog over the Destruction Crew, swing back off the ropes and hit stereo flying presses. The Ref gets some order and things settle down. The Swords continue to fluster the Destruction Crew and take turns working both Enos and Bloom over. Gama and Konnan double suplex Enos. Konnan covers but Bloom runs in with a stomp. Gama charges but the Ref guides him back, which allows Bloom to slam Konnan, drag Enos over and tag himself in. The Destruction Crew take over the next segment and put a hurting on Konnan but can't put him away. The Destruction Crew go for a double clothesline but Konnan ducks it and comes back and clotheslines both men down, then makes the hot tag to Gama. Gama cleans house. Gama has Bloom reeling and puts him down with a dropkick from the middle ropes. Gama tags in Konnan. Konnan executes a back suplex on Bloom but Enos breaks the pin attempt. Gama runs in and we've got a pier six brawl. The Ref is tied up with Gama and Enos. Konnan hits a sidewalk slam on Bloom and covers. WAIT! Chicky and Ron Starr hit the ring! They attack Konnan and put him down with a double DDT, then quickly exit. Bloom slowly rolls over and covers Konnan as the Ref turns around, runs over and counts 1..2..3! The Destruction Crew wins the tournament Commercial Break Stan Hansen vs. Arnie Goldstein Hansen (with a wad of tobacco in his mouth) comes barging down the aisle, swinging his bull rope and cowbell then pushes Larry Nelson over and hits him with the cowbell. Hansen enters the ring and just destroys his opponent before finishing things off with the Lariat! Larry Nelson was set to interview Hansen but is nowhere to be found. Hansen barges back up the aisle yelling and threatening the fans, swinging his rope and cowbell at them. Commercial Break The Power Twins vs. Good Vibrations w/The Vin Man Both teams are looking to climb the rankings and want to make a good showing. The fans get some enjoyment as the Power Twins pinball Good Vibrations all over the ring with their impressive power moves. The tide turns, when Vinnie trips David and he staggers into a swinging neckbreaker from Jammer. Good Vibrations keep David in the corner and work him over. Jammer slams David as Beach swings off the ropes and hits a jumping kneedrop 1..2..Larry breaks it. Jammer runs in, but Larry scoop slams him. Beach charges but gets a scoop slam. David gets up and sends Jammer flying with a running forearm blast. The bell rings, signaling a 10 minute draw. Vinnie is irate and runs into the ring. It hits him that he made a huge mistake and he quickly tries to exit, but the Power Twins grab him and hoist him up. Beach and Jammer slowly rise as the Power Twins throw Vinnie onto them. All 3 men fall over like bowling pins. Commercial Break 'The Mighty Yankee' Steve Disalvo vs. Trent Watkins Disalvo simply overpowers his opponent and wins the match with a running shoulder breaker. As Disalvo puts on his sunglasses he's clotheslined from behind by JW Storm (wearing his leather jacket)! Storm reaches down and picks up Disalvo's sunglasses. Storm puts on the sunglasses and walks out of the ring. Ken Resnick runs over. Resnick: JW Storm! What was that all about? Storm: These sunglasses look great with my leather jacket and they're going to look even better with the TV title I'm going to win next week. Commercial Break Resnick: Fans, with me now are the AWA World Tag Team Champs, the Rock n Roll Express (big pop) Ok, it's now official, next week at Title Night, in Winnipeg, you two will defend against the Destruction Crew. Robert: That's right, Ricky and I watched the entire tournament carefully and we were ready for anything. Now we know and it's on at Title Night. Ricky: The Destruction Crew used all the dirty tricks they could to get here, but RnR is way ahead of their game and that won't work on us baby. We're going to show them what real tag team wrestling is all about! Commercial Break El Canek vs. Ray Glader Canek looks better than ever and wins the match with a gorilla press slam followed by a senton. Canek goes out to talk with Resnick. The fans start booing big time as none other than Greg Gagne comes walking up. Resnick: Oh my, Greg Gagne, I have to say, I wasn't expecting this. Gagne: Shut up nerd, I have a lot to say. You know, all my problems started with this masked moron. All my suffering, all my injuries, all my physical and mental pain, all that grueling rehabilitation, started with you (pokes Canek's chest) I tried everything to get rid of you. I spent a lot of money on Bounties, assassins, hit men, but somehow this damn fool kept coming back! (calms down) well, it's time to finally get rid of you once and for all (pokes Canek's chest again) You hear me? The fans cheer as Canek pushes Gagne down. Canek just walks away. Gagne regroups and stands up. Gagne: That's it! I have a big, no, a really big surprise coming and it's coming soon! Commercial Break AWA International Champ 'The Red Rooster' Terry Taylor and the AWA National Tag Champs Latin Desire vs. David Sammartino and The Renegade Warriors We get a preview because all of these men will be involved at Title Night. The fans are into this fun and fast paced 6 man tag. Sammartino flusters Taylor and Taylor is quick to tag out. Latin Desire and the Warriors go at it at a fever pace. After a few minutes of intense action, Sammartino finally gets Taylor in the ring and goes to town. Latin Desire runs in to help out, which brings in the Warriors. All 6 men are going at it with fists flying. Taylor rakes Samartino's eyes and goes for a slam, but Sammartino cradles Taylor 1..2..3!!! Big POP. Taylor gets up and is pissed. Taylor charges Sammartino but gets back dropped. The Warriors chop Latin Desire out of the ring. The last image is Taylor throwing a tantrum in the ring while the fans laugh. Commercial Break Resnick: Fans, my guest at this time is the AWA World Champion, the Immortal Hulk Hogan! Eye of the Tiger blasts as Hogan heads up the aisle. Hogan enters the ring and gives the fans a thumbs up. Resnick: Hulk, next week at Title Night in Winnipeg, you will defend the AWA world title against Col Debeers in a bootcamp match! This has been brewing for a while. Hogan: Well you know something Killer Ken, that no good coward Debeers has been a thorn in my side for way too long. Oh yea, he's given me some bumps and bruises but he's never confronted me face to face like a man. There will be no excuses at Title Night. I'm going to beat him at his own game brother. Resnick: LOOK OUT! Hogan turns around as Col Debeers throws salt in his eyes! Resnick rubs his own eyes and falls down. The fans are booing as Debeers smiles and twirls his mustache. Vader's getting the monster push and rightfully so. I'm excited to see what he does here. Nice touch pairing Fuji with him I've said this before but Duggan and Dusty vs. The Outlaws is such a great old school type feud. Brown getting annoyed with Slick cracked me up. Both men would've played this scene perfectly Heenan's champs the POP are looking better than ever You're doing an excellent job with the Tito/Bravo feud. Such a heel move by Bravo A lot of intrigue with the pick your poison matches Rude's been dominating as world champ. If there's one man that could stand up to Andre, it's Haku. Great week.

Hickerson is making good on his promise of keeping order by bringing in Renesto Jr as a Ref. Speaking of the Renestos, I liked that Tim mentioned the USWA title. I'm looking forward to seeing the champ make an appearance here. Lee is wasting no time by signing Zebra Kid. The story about the reversed decision is so simple but so effective. Falk gets his wish but his guys come up short. After only 2 weeks, they have shown a lot of improvement. Fun card at the HS. The main event was intense, especially with Lock and Humperdink out there.

World Championship Wrestling
A Road Warriors/Samoans banger is a great way to kick off the clash With Jesse's help getting him over on the mic, I see big things ahead for the Diamond Stud Damn, what a segment. The Horsemen's distraction allows Nikita to do a big number on Sting. The drama continues Power and Glory retain. I do like Wahoo mentoring Tatanka Bulldog gets in a nice showcase. I can see him in the title picture soon Man, genius idea booking Nash as a skyscraper. Definitely a better start than IRL Nice booking in the Garvin/Martel match. Keeps things hot Rockers retain against the newly named SEC. I think the name fits their look. Maybe they just need a manager. Z man looks great but Muta is amazing Pillman gets his big moment. Nice twist with Luger taking the pin. It looks like him and Sting are going into WrestleWar a little banged up.

Memphis Wrestling
Keirn shows he's still a favorite here I agree with AD, I like those little touches you add in to get the fear of the Takers over. One thing about Memphis, they'll give you a wild street fight A feud with Gilbert will definitely help get Dustin over here. I'm sure the Freebirds will be gunning for the Stud Stable now more than ever Tojo has put together some heavy assassins. With Gilbert already on his mind, Dustin might be getting in over his head here. Fun main event. I would have gotten my money's worth on that crazy ending. Lawler refusing medical attention. Savage taken out in cuffs and Hennig simply leaving was great stuff. The inevitable Lawler/Savage match will set records.

AWA Major League Wrestling
AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 2-7-90 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Tonight you will see the semi final matches in the world tag title contender's tournament. Also, the names drawn in the match for a TV title shot at Title night are JW Storm and former TV champ Tom Brandi. King Kaluah takes on Bobby Blaze. Col Debeers will be here today. All that and a lot more, so let's go to the ring. World Tag Team Contender's Tournament Semi Final match The Swords of Light vs. The Jive Tones w/Tiger Conway Jr. Conway's head is bandaged from that chair shot by Eric Embry last week. The Jive Tones attack at the bell but the advantage doesn't last long as the Swords clear the ring quick. Conway rallies his men and they regroup. Gama's all over Whatley with hip tosses and dropkicks. Gama tags in Konnan who continues to work Whatley over with Lucha moves. Whatley bounces over and tags in Young. Konnan is all over Young, until Whatley trips Konnan from the apron. Konnan stumbles into a dropkick by Young. The Jive Tones control the next segment with a lot of heeling and double teaming in the corner. They double slam Konnan and follow with stereo elbow drops. Young covers but Gama breaks it. We get a pier six brawl. Conway gets on the apron but Gama dropkicks Whatley into him. The Swords execute a double back suplex on Young. Konnan covers 1..2..3! The Swords of Light advance to the finals Commercial Break 'The Rock' Don Muraco w/Superstar Graham vs. Neil Jordan Muraco finishes things off quick with an inverted piledriver. Nelson: Don, Superstar, we received word this week that at Title Night on February 22 in Winnipeg, you Don Muraco will face Jumbo Tsuruta in a bonus match. I'm sure the winner will be in line for a world title shot. Ray Stevens has promised that his man Jumbo will annihilate Muraco to get their rightful title shot. Muraco: Promises, promises. Those are just words brother. I'm coming to title night to get the job done Jack! Graham: That's right Donnie! And Ray Stevens, don't even think about getting involved Because if you do brotha, you'll have to answer to me! Commercial Break The Soul Patrol vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez Living in America by James Brown blasts and the fans are on their feet as the Soul Patrol come out. The Soul Patrol are on fire tonight. The finish sees Jones swing Dutro to the ropes and hits him in the mid section as Walker comes off the top rope with a sunset flip for the win. The Soul Patrol cut a promo on the Commission and basically tell them to bring it on! Commercial Break Bobby Blaze vs. King Kaluah These two AWA new commers are out to rise the ranks tonight and go all out in a fun back and forth contest. Blaze shows off some great wrestling skills mixed in with suplexes and slams. Kaluah hits hard with some bruising shots and vicious knee and elbow drops. They continue to go round and round until the time limit expires. Both men regroup. Kaluah offers a handshake. Blaze shakes his hand, but Kaluah pulls him in and puts him down with a short arm clothesline. Kaluah swings Blaze to the ropes and hot shots him on the top rope. Commercial Break An advertisement is shown for the next pay per view event, Champagne Slam on April 12th Nelson: Fans, next week the AWA world champion, the immortal Hulk Hogan will be right here in this ring (Big POP). On that note, my guest at this time is Col. Debeers. Nuclear heat as Debeers strolls to the ring twirling his mustache. Nelson: Col Debeers, at Title Night in Winnipeg, you will face Hulk Hogan for the AWA world title in a bootcamp match. Debeers: (looks around at the booing fans) I told you when I arrived here that I would open everybody's eyes. It's obvious to me that all these untouchables are still asleep. Nikita Koloff's eyes were open and he was robbed by the powers that be, so he left this deplorable place. But I'm still here! And Hulk Hogan, you must now face the consequences in a bootcamp match. A bootcamp match is nothing but a playground to me. Simple War Games. However, for you Hulk Hogan, it will be your demise. And then, only then will everybody be awake. Commercial Break 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer vs. Trent Night Sawyer brutalizes his poor opponent and puts him out of his misery with the powerslam. Wham! Sawyer's nailed from behind by Cactus Jack! Jack pounds away on Sawyer, then puts him down with a double arm DDT. Jack smiles and looks into the camera and yells "BANG BANG!" Commercial Break Winner receives an AWA TV Title shot at Title Night 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. 'The Future' JW Storm Brandi's had some hard luck lately and wants to get back into the TV title picture. Thanks to the luck of the draw, he gets his chance tonight. Storm's been involved in a feud with Steve Disalvo but will gladly put that aside for a shot at the title. Brandi puts his high octane offense to work as he flusters Storm with back drops, arm drags and dropkicks. Storm comes back and unleashes his power arsenal. Storm almost puts Brandi away with a Samoan drop but Brandi hangs on. Brandi makes a comeback and has Storm reeling. Storm stops things with an eye rake. Storm swings Brandi to the corner, but Brandi hops on the turnbuckles and comes back with a reverse flying press, but Storm carries the momentum over and with a handful of tights and gets the 1..2..3! Commercial Break Nelson announces that the Renegade Warriors will get a rematch with Latin Desire for the National Tag Titles at Title Night. Latin Desire comes out wearing black vests with red hearts on the back. The National titles are around their waists. They do look pretty damn good with the belts. Lou: The Renegade Warriors? Really? Again? Jeez, how many times do we have to beat those clowns? Nelson: Well, in fairness, last time the illegal man got the pin. So, the AWA officials decided this was fair. Al: It's a joke, that's what it is. You know what? It doesn't even matter. We'll beat those goofs again and then maybe, just maybe we can move on to some real competition. Commercial Break Brutus Beefcake vs. Clinton Stitch Beefcake does his strutting and wins the match with a flying knee. Nelson: Brutus, it's great to see you back in good spirits after what the Hangman did to you. I understand, you two will collide soon. Beefcake: The Hangman hung me over that top rope and almost squeezed the life out of me. But here I am, doing my thing and living life. Nell calls me a lost soul, but here's news for you Nell. I've never been more aware in my life. You failed to get the job done and now it's time for Bruti to put an end to your Hangman. (maniacal smile) I'm coming for you Hangman! Brutus walks away, then comes back and looks into the camera Brutus: (maniacal smile) I'm coming for you too Nell Commercial Break World Tag Team Contender's Semi Final Match The Takano Dragons vs. The Destruction Crew We get a nice see saw match. The Destruction Crew have been around a while and it shows as they use some impressive double team maneuvers. Takanos come back hard and show off some impressive double team maneuvers as well. The action is intense. Shunji puts Bloom down with a diving clothesline 1..2..Enos breaks it. George runs in and dropkicks Enos out of the ring. The Ref guides George back. Shunji hoists Bloom up for a suplex, but from the outside, Enos trips Shunji and holds his legs as the Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3! George is a second too late. The Destruction Crew advances to the finals

In a stacked tag division, Captain Lou promises big things for the Bees Yep, that was a perfect Warrior promo LOL. I'll say this, he's hyped for Mania Demolition and the POP are heading for another explosive showdown. Slick's Badd Co is getting some good attention. I can't wait for the Bossman/Nailz match Dusty and Duggan vs. Bull and Funk. Oh yea, SNME will be a must see Bolsheviks get one over on the USA. Once again, Heenan and Monsoon crack me up

World Championship Wrestling
All roads lead to the Clash. The tag team division is stacked here. I have a feeling the Road Warriors and Rockers are heading towards a unification match. If Sherri's reuniting the Skyscrapers, WCW better get ready. So much going on in the world title scene. With Sting and Luger heading for a showdown, can they remain focused on the Horsemen. Or will Flair sneak back in the title slot. And how long will it be before Hart and Muta strike. And let's not forget about Nikita. Lots of intrigue.

Really liked the Hickerson/Michales/Zebra segment. It was very creative and fresh. Nice touch getting the fans involved. You've set up a good feud here. Falk delivers his goods. They got defeated but showed promise. One day they will get that big win pop. Precious is really into her role and puts some good heat on Pretty in Pink. I agree with the others, the newspaper article is always a cool addition to your promotion.

AWA Major League Wrestling
AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 1-31-90 Footage is shown from the Mecca. Col Debeers attacks Hogan and hits him with a club. Larry Nelson: Hello everyone and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Tonight, you will see two more first round tag team tournament matches. A lot of action tonight, but right now we're going to take you to pre recorded comments from the AWA world champion Hulk Hogan. Hogan: I knew you were a coward Col Debeers and once again you proved me right. Well let me tell you something brother, Hulkamania is going to take care of you once and for all. At the next Title Night in Winnipeg, I will put this world title on the line against you. BUT! Only on one condition. In a bootcamp match! That's right brother! I'm going to beat you at your own game. Now let's see if you have any guts at all. So Debeers, whatcha gonna do when the power of Hulkamania wins the war against youuuuuuuuuuu! Commercial Break David Sammartino vs. Clyde Putnam Sammartino is healed up from his Superclash cage match with Zbyszko and is looking good. He wins the match with a belly to belly suplex. Nelson: Ok, Saturday February 21st in Winnipeg, the AWA returns with another Title Night. David, you will face Terry Taylor for the International title. David: Larry, this is a tremendous opportunity and it seems Taylor is underestimating me. Hey, that's fine with me, because Zbyszko did the same thing. Get ready Rooster, because I'm walking out of your henhouse with the International title! Commercial Break 1st Round World Tag Team Title Contender's Tournament Swords of Light vs. The Starrs Konnan and Gama start off fast and control the early segment with quick tags and technical wrestling that frustrates the Starrs. The momentum changes thanks to a forearm blast from the apron by Ron on Gama. The Starrs control with heel double teaming and rough house tactics. Ron tags in Chicky. Ron slams Gama as Chicky follows with a corkscrew elbow drop 1..2..Konnan breaks it. Eventually Gama makes the hot tag and Konnan shows off his Lucha Libre style on both Starrs. Konnan nails Ron with a diving clothesline. Chicky runs in but Gama is all over him and dropkicks him out of the ring. Konnan swings Ron to the ropes and hits a sidewalk slam 1..2..3! Swords of Light advance Commercial Break 'The Mighty Yankee' Steve Disalvo vs. Warren Coolidge After a series of power moves, Disalvo finishes things off with a running shoulder breaker. Disalvo cuts a promo and warns JW Storm that it's only the beginning. Commercial Break Jimmy 'The Stud' Golden vs. Neil Jordan Golden beats down his opponent and wins the match with the piledriver. Nelson: Fans, after what happened last week, thankfully Leo Burke's neck is not broken. He will be out of action for a bit but says he'll definitely be back and he'll be coming for you Jimmy. Jimmy, you piledrove the man on the concrete for goodness sakes. Why?! Golden: Well it's real simple. That boy meddled in my business and got what was com'n to him. Nobody gets in my face! (holds up his fist) This fist will knock you out and my piledriver will put you in the hospital. Just ask Leo Burke. Commercial Break We see highlights of El Canek in Mexico and Carlos Colon in Puerto Rico. Both men will be returning to the AWA soon. 'The British Bruiser' Johnny Smith w/Les Thornton vs. Carl Kellerman Smith easily handles his opponent and wins the match with the Snake Eyes on the top turnbuckle. Nelson: Les, it seems Tony St. Clair is more than ready for you and the British Bruiser. Les: Oh is that right? Well, that couldn't be further from the truth. Johnny Smith is the pride of the Parliament and he's going to send Mr. St. Clair into exile because trust me, the UK doesn't even want that traitor. Commercial Break Col. Debeers w/The Commission vs. Ray Glader Nuclear heat for Debeers. He toys with his opponent before finishing him off with the front face piledriver. Nelson: Col Debeers, you heard the challenge made by Hulk Hogan. You get a world title shot at Title Night but only if you accept a bootcamp match. Debeers (twirls his mustache) I always knew Hulk Hogan was a fool. I will gladly accept his conditions. Before I get to that, I want to address the 2 untouchables that interfered in our business that night in Milwaukee. (Looks at the Commission) Your first orders are to terminate those two untouchables. Commission:(in unison) Yes sir! Debeers: As for you Hulk Hogan. The so called Real American. I've waited a long time for this moment. At Title Night I'm going to relish every moment as I dissect you piece by piece. You have all these idiots fooled. You have all the powers that be in the AWA fooled. But not me! I will expose all of your fears and weaknesses when we meet. You're coming into the War Zone and you will be soundly defeated. Commercial Break The Hangman w/Nell vs. Dean Hoosier Nell walks around the ring in his western preacher's suit and white hat. Hangman annihilates his opponent and finishes things off with the Hangman's Neckbreaker. Nelson: (nervous) I know Brutus Beefcake must be a concern after what your man did to him a few weeks ago. Nell: (very soft spoken) Oh you mean when he put that there noose around that poor tortured soul's neck and hung him? The Hangman puts his noose around Larry's neck. Larry freaks out and runs away. Nell picks up the mic and looks into the camera. Nell: The Hangman is here. Commercial Break 1st round World Tag Team Title Contender's Tournament The Mavericks vs. The Jive Tones w/Tiger Conway Jr. It doesn't take long before both teams get aggressive. The match is hard hitting. The Mavericks have the edge until interference from Conway changes that. The Jive Tones capitalize and control a good portion. The Mavericks make a comeback and have some serious momentum going. Embry puts Whatley down with a flying back elbow blast. Skip runs in and so does Gary. While the Ref is tied up with them, Conway slides a chair to Whatley. Whatley staggers up with the chair but Embry kicks Whatley and takes the chair. Whatley falls down. Conway screams at the Ref. The Ref turns around and sees Whatley down and sees Embry with the chair. Conway's yelling at the Ref that Embry used the chair. The Ref signals for the DQ and awards the match to the Jive Tones. Conway enters the ring laughing and celebrating. Embry says the hell with it and hits Conway over the head with the chair! That gets a big pop. The Jive Tones advance.

Man, you've really got the Prime Time feel down. Billy Jack would be a fun muscle match for Rude. WrestleMania 6 is going to rock the Sky Dome! The Outlaws are on a rampage I always loved it when Heenan would almost make Monsoon break. The Good, the bad and the ugly. You've always been so creative with finish names. Damn, Holly literally left Christopher hanging. Looks like things are being set up for a Tito/Bravo IC title rematch. I like the importance put on the IC title here. I can't wait for a crazy Dusty/Duggan-Outlaws match. Things are flowing very smooth. With the promos, matches and commentary by Heenan and Monsoon, everything is so easy to follow.

Bluegrass Championship Wrestling
I'm not sure if even Hickerson can control Lock. I wouldn't want to be Bobby Starr either. Good job with the Humperdink tie in. The Mortons bring the dropkicks to Bluegrass! Ok, next week we get to find out what Falk's been up too. We'll see if he can deliver the goods. Fun main event. I thought Michaels was going to pull it off, but Zebra doesn't let that happen. Zebra's been one of my favorites here.

AWA Major League Wrestling
AWA @ The Mecca, Milwaukee WI 1-25-90 The Soul Patrol (Mike Jones and Bobby Walker) defeat Two Local jobbers. These guys get over quick with their exciting gimmick and win the match when Jones gives his opponent a punch to the gut off the ropes and Walker follows with a sunset flip from the top rope. 'The Mighty Yankee' Steve Disalvo vs. 'The Future' JW Storm Storm arrived at SuperClash and attacked Disalvo. Disalvo is looking for payback tonight and uses his power to pinball Storm around the ring. Storm comes back with power moves of his own. Disalvo regains control and hoists Storm up for his running shoulder breaker but Storm manages to grab the top rope and ends up pulling him and Disalvo over the top rope. They both fight on the outside going to a double countout. Cactus Jack vs. 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer This match is a straight up brawl as these guys fight inside and outside the ring. Jack puts up one hell of a fight but in the end, Sawyer wins it with a powerslam. After Sawyer leaves the ring, Cactus sits up and starts laughing then gives the bang bang with his fingers. 'Lionheart' Tony St. Clair vs. 'The British Bruiser' Johnny Smith w/Les Thornton After his series with Colon, St. Clair changed his ways and wanted to go back to his wrestling roots. This didn't sit well with Thornton and he's ready to make the Parliament proud with Johnny Smith. St. Clair controls a lot of the match by outwrestling Smith. A trip by Thornton changes the tempo as Smith works St. Clair over with some brutal and hard hitting shots. St. Clair is able to withstand it and make a fired up comeback. St. Clair executes his floating butterfly suplex but Thornton runs in the ring to break it, causing a DQ. St. Clair goes after Thornton, but Thornton gets out of there quick. AWA National Tag Team Title Bout Latin Desire (C) vs. The Renegade Warriors Pretty damn good match as both teams give the fans an exciting see saw battle. Latin Desire's teamwork flows smoothly while the Warriors have tremendous chemistry. After 30 minutes, all 4 men are in the ring fighting. During the confusion, Mark has Lou up for a suplex but Al clips Mark behind the knees. The illegal man Al covers as the Ref counts 1..2..3! Chris is a second too late. Chris is trying to explain what happened. The Ref remains confused but still gives the match to the champs. AWA World Title Bout Hulk Hogan (C) vs. 'Olympian' Ken Patera w/Brad Rheingans The Olympians get in some good pre match heat but that all changes when Eye of the Tiger blasts. Hogan gets the fans roaring with a fast start. He clotheslines both Olympians, then knocks their heads together, sending Brad out of the ring. The opening minutes is all Hogan. Patera takes advantage of a distraction by Brad and works over Hogan. Patera looks damn strong here and proves he's a serious threat. Patera gives Hogan all the strongman moves and gives the fans a few scares. Patera finally locks in his full nelson. The fans fire Hogan up. Hogan back pedals Patera into the turnbuckles and it's all Hogan now. Hogan punches Brad off the apron, then gives Patera several punches, swings him to the ropes, hits the big boot, swings off the ropes and hits the leg drop for the 1..2..3! MASSIVE POP! Hogan gives the fans his poses. BUT WAIT! The Commission (Krueger and DeKlerk) come to ringside. They stare up at Hogan. Hogan sees them and warns them. Debeers picks up Hogan and delivers a front face piledriver! The Soul Patrol hit the ring with chairs as Debeers and the Commission exit. Hogan is laid out as the Soul Patrol check on him.

Nasty Boys join in on the feud with Gary Hart. Bring on the chaos! Luger's in a bad way, but this did get Tully out of the picture, so maybe this works in the long run for the babyfaces. Love the way you write up the squash matches. LOL Damn great way to end the show. Chaos in the ring and Muta makes his presence known to Luger. Sting slides right into Luger's spot for Greensboro. I wonder what Flair thinks about all this. Yes! Keep the Martel/Garvin feud going.

I can just imagine a crazy Savage behind the wheel. I love this entire storyline and how it ties in with the upcoming title match. I also loved Hennig's take on all this. Great TV! I think Goto might be too distracted by Rhodes to focus on his title match with Jarrett As if Goto wasn't enough to deal with, Rhodes now has issues with Hot Stuff You've got something great going with the Dutch/DWB/Armstrong feud. Add in Dundee and this goes to an entirely new level. It's great seeing Dundee back home. Can't wait for the Mid South card.
