WWE TV 08/05 - 08/11 Comedy can truly help in dark times
The bit with Reigns and Murphy in the locker room was quite well done but I think it's a week or two early in the flow of the storyline to do a reveal.

This is your terrible take for the day.

I feel like there must have been some sort of scheduling conflict along the way with the Charlotte and Trish thing because having her back on the Raw Reunion to do that angle would've come off as way more natural than the way it played it with her just randomly being on Smackdown in Memphis because reasons.

Goldberg looks like a bad ass, he is now a legitimately great promo and he has short and impactful matches in the era of the self-conscious epic. Plus, people always love an old man ass kicker. Yeah I know the limitations but I'm pretty much a mark for the guy at this point.

The Official Seth Rollins is Terrible Thread
Zayn's run to the NXT title was the Daniel Bryan push done right. Surely that should've been pretty replicable when he came up, especially as Bryan was out of action.

The Official Seth Rollins is Terrible Thread
Seth's entrance music probably isn't in the top 50 of current wrestling themes but at least the 'Burn It Down' bit got him some artificial pops. WWE entrance themes in general are pretty shit these days. And I hate how CFOS put that little second of silence in almost every theme.

I guess he can bump well for his moves and eat a job without it mattering too much

He's unfortunate in a sense. You know how we talk about how some performers just have 'it' that makes them more than the sum for their parts? Hogan or Rock would be the perfect example. Well for me, Seth had the opposite of 'it' when he's booked in a main event programme.

They should just put the belt on Goldberg again and run three or four title defences between now and Mania.

Yeah, that works. Run squashes like that as long as possible and once it's time for him to do the job, have someone get the mask off of him in the match and he suddenly becomes vulnerable.

Yeah, he's got to deliver something different in ring to cement this new character now but I'm not sure what that is

Sounds like the crowd didn't give a single shit for Seth's earnest babyface promo

WWE TV 07/29 - 08/04 Hey whatever this country is broken
Everyone is a fake rebel in WWE when they're all doing the pattern entrances and pattern verbiage and talking about their dreams and legacies and Wresltemania Moments etc.

WWE TV 07/29 - 08/04 Hey whatever this country is broken
My God, this is actually it. Burn It Down! is over, not Seth. I think they needed to compensate with Ronda leaving with a big angle for Becky ASAP after Mania. Like Shayna debuting and beating her ass so she has another uphill struggle to work towards through Summerslam. Really, her peak overness was either the Raw before Survivor Series or the face-off with Ronda on Raw after the Rumble. Wrestlemania should never have been a three-way.

Becky last autumn was hotter than Seth has ever been. She's been a victim of them never being able to capitalise on momentum and seemingly not being able to do any story effectively besides an underdog title win. Really, the signs were there when they overbooked the fuck out of the Mania match. Seth I think it's always going to be a matter of time before people sour on his latest big push.

Dave Meltzer stuff
The main thing would be format. I think you'd get various people doing reports and reviews as we see now but the newsletter format might disappear with Dave.

WWE TV 07/29 - 08/04 Hey whatever this country is broken
Everyone was so tired of Brock and we'd never had a proper top babyface run from Seth so I can see why lots of people were into it, or at least accepting of the inevitable. I don't remember ever being that enthusiastic for it but I'm sure there's some post from months ago where I was much more in favour of it than I am now. I wonder if the turnaround of his reputation online ever translates into crowds not giving him a babyface reaction.

NJPW G1 Climax 2019
Listening to WOR earlier was doing my head in because Dave was completely screwing up who was in and out. He seemed to think Naito and White were both gone. Well, after forgetting that Jay existed for about five minutes.

ZSJ managed to pull out the most fun Fale match of the tournament as well, the countout in Korakuen

Fast & Furious actors don't want to do jobs
https://www.wsj.com/articles/fast-furious-stars-complicated-demandi-never-want-to-lose-a-fight-11564673490?shareToken=st9ec3223fe41646658729e34425676d84 I thought this was funny and somewhat wrestling related in that Jason Statham, Vin Diesel and Rock all work out ways to avoid their characters ever getting beaten. Surely Rock more than anyone knows that the selling is just as important as the comeback for a babyface. Hopefully Cena will get in there and teach these geeks how to work.

NJPW G1 Climax 2019
I think Dave is over-egging the pudding a bit when he was talking about this but the finish and post-match from the Tanahashi match really was something special.

Arn turning on both the Rhodes boys would be cool but the only issue is how you do a pay-off because I don't really think you can have Cody beat his ass. If they can get Tessa to do a run-in then you'd really have something.
