[1990-07-12-AJPW-Summer Action Series] Masa Fuchi vs Tsuyoshi Kikuchi
This rocked. Loved Kikuchi's determination and fire. Even from the get-go when streamers are thrown, there's a shot of his face and he looks pissed about the streamers, just super focused. This was a couple years before THE MATCH but Kikuchi is able to create tons of sympathy and has such great fire. And Fuchi works brutal holds and bullies the younger guy. No complaints, this is awesome.

[1990-07-07-NWA-Great American Bash] Midnight Express vs Southern Boys
this is another one I switch back and forth on with the 2/25 rnr tag. At this point, I think I just have to go with my favorite match is whichever one I watched last. This is so good. The karate standoff alone makes it great, but the rest of the match is awesome too! I love the back and forth aspect, and it never feels like simply taking turns. So between the clash rnr match and this, we've seen some pretty different stuff from the MX, and it kind of makes me wonder if they would have had another year or so together what they would have come up with.

[1990-07-07-NWA-Great American Bash] Doom vs Rock & Roll Express
Hmm so the RnR, and I guess any southern babyface tag team, kind of love or die by the crowd, so this one hurt them a bit. Whenever I watch the 1990 WCW stuff, I always switch which US tag team matches and which heavyweight rage matches I like best. This time I'm going from liking this one the best to the Doom vs Steiners. Doom had a great 1990, and the tag scene as a whole did too.

[1990-07-07-NWA-Great American Bash] Ric Flair vs Sting
I really thought it was a great moment when the Dudes stand up on the ramp and for a shield to prevent the Horsemen from running out. That's one of the few things I remember as a child watching this, and it still gives me goosebumps. I just think it's a great good vs evil moment of triumph. Also, Sting gives a great look at that point, really concerned about what's going on on the outside. As for the match, I really enjoy it. I think it got the job done and while it's not an absolute classic, I think it's a good main event match. Sting has some selling issues, but I actually think he sells the knee decently enough to make it believable, especially with Ross and Caudle doing a good job on commentary kind of working around the no selling, questioning if he's at 100%. Ideally, it would have been about 5 minutes longer, maybe add some more to the heat segment or something, but I thought the finish was also really hot and I can't complain. As for Sting's promo, I get what he was going for, and he comes off very humble and looks good, but I think we went a bit too far putting Flair over almost at his own expense. It kind of epitomizes Sting's entire career, in that he's The Man, but doesn't quite get the importance of it or really take charge and act like it. Anyway, good main event to close a really good show.

[1990-07-04-USWA Texas] Bill Dundee vs John Tatum
Man Tatum super kicks Tessa in the head. Pretty good match here, and it seemed strange that it was as long as it was, not the typical thing we've seen in the uswa stuff so far. Tatum still has me hooked, and it's looking like this is leading to a blowoff.

[1990-07-07-AJPW-Summer Action Series] Mitsuharu Misawa & Toshiaki Kawada vs Jumbo Tsuruta & Yoshiaki Yatsu
The first time Jumbo tags in he comes with with a really understated swagger that he's still the man and he's going to take it to the young kids here. I think he loses it some time during the match and I was kind of expecting more intensity from him in the Misawa interactions. He gets the cheap shot in but I don't know, maybe I was just expecting more. Overall though, very solid. Interesting from a historical standpoint and good as a standalone.

[1990-06-30-CWA] Bull Power vs Otto Wanz
The ring announcer screaming BULL POWER LET HIM UP was real freaky. This was awesome and Vader really brought it as the young guy looking to take down the home guy. Big Otto Wanz wouldn't be denied though and fought back. There's a lot to like here and just two monsters pounding each other. Makes up for the weird vibe of this show.

Great promo from Percy and he looks and sounds furious, but o really like him when he's docile.
