  1. We're 2/2 on these teen segments. It's so funny that "Dawna" just happens to be phonetically spelled like she would say it. I'd love to see some of the modeling pictures Mr. Madison did.
  2. You can see Lawler in the background like cleaning his ears or something. Good promo by DWB but I don't want him taking away time from John Tatum.
  3. Cool set of matches, Steamboat looks out of context but I especially like the more brawling aspects and strikes.
  4. Between Herd and El Gigante this is a rough segment for charisma. Gigante's vacant stare is very funny.
  5. First things first, the replays with the droning crowd noise, horn blasts, and pitch-shifted voices are so out of place and dark sounding. Purely German. I'm not super familiar with the European style, but I've seen several matches and the thing that always strikes me is the combination of fluidity and grit. The brawling is always rough looking, but clean, and in control. And contrast that with an opponent who's a smooth mat worker, and it makes for very interesting watching.
  6. I really liked the start of the match. It felt like two young guys who are going to have a 10 minute match and want to really prove something. Then they settled in and ended up going 25 minutes and it caught me off guard. Interesting match in the sense that you can see the guys are talented but really lack the maturity to put together a cohesive 20+ minute match. Feels almost like a study guideposts or something.
  7. Spinks' punches look pretty weak, especially for wearing gloves. In his babyface promo, Lawler is able to put over Leon Spinks as a hard puncher, which is different than his usual heel stuff. Good promo, I'm excited for what sounds like the blowoff to the feud, so we'll see what happens.
  8. Alright, an actual promo and buildup for the US title heading into the Bash. I actually don't remember the match which probably isn't a good thing but I'm interested to see how it goes.
  9. Good job by Flair here, trying to build himself up as the ace of the company and the Bash is when Sting has the opportunity to take over that role.
  10. Kantaro Hoshino was a really underrated part of the uwf vs njpw feud, and into the generational feud after that. He never played a huge role, but he always stuck out to me. He sticks out here too with some great fired up offense. I had never heard of this match before and too bad because this was great. There's so much to dig into here. I love the retaliation spots, like the Kurisu chair stuff, whole teams retaliating back and forth. Koshinaka as a face in peril, and not hitting a hip attack until deep in the match to a big pop really worked well. I didn't read the thread beforehand and was pretty disappointed thinking the match ended after the first fall, but nope! Great match, one of my favorites of the year.
  11. The best part is when the teacher looks straight into the camera and says "All F's"
  12. Espectrito was the stand out here. Finally finding my footing with match structure and I liked the third fall and the outside the ring stuff.
  13. Good promo but honestly I don't really care unless Tatum is on my screen.
  14. Hahah these two just running wild in some field by a river. What a sight to see.
  15. Good thing I read the thread because I had no idea what was happening here.
  16. So Lawler is a face Jere again? I can't keep track. The match clip didn't look as heated as some of the previous ones. Lawler's shirt, with deliberately more teeth missing is really funny, and then Mr. Stinks gets on the mic. There's is a serious jabroni in place of Dave Brown too, now he stinks.
  17. Tatum gives the realist promo in the world, like total textbook abusive boyfriend material here. At the end of the promo, once again, he opens his arms to the camera and my blood runs cold. You can keep your slugfests, I'll take a hugfest every time. Another winner and he's completely upstaging Dundee here as far as I'm concerned. Really enjoyed Percy here, calmly believing and putting over that Tatum is a changed man.
  18. Alright! Mixed tag match coming up. Austin looks good in the squash match. Jeannie looks high in her promo, but maybe she always looks like that. I actually prefer Mr. Pringle more straight laced. Jeannie throws some really stiff looking punches. Adams and my main girl TONI come out and we've got a Pier 6. Good segment.
  19. The big thing here for me, and with all good shoot style matches, is believability. They worked with urgency and because of that they made me believe a devastating end could come at any time. Really well done.
  20. Interesting to me that the girls would be chanting for Hotta and the guys for Hotta, and not the reverse. I really don't know anything about Hotta and know very little about Toyota but I figured her to be a big hit with the younger crowd. Anyway, wow, that's as hot an opening as you'll ever see, like everyone else has said. I have to say though, the middle lost me. Toyota didn't have a lot of hope spots, and it kind of felt like everything was escalated in the opening stretch, and it was just kind of meandering suplexes and shots and holds until Toyota came back. The finishing stretch was good too though, and I don't know if it was a botch or what, but I really loved the kind of block on the tiger suplex from Hotta that Toyota did, where they just kind of collapsed. That felt very real. In the post-match video, when it shows the Hokuto injury, it looks like you can see the bone. Gruesome!
  21. Tatum's slumped shoulder pouting in the ring is just too good. He's throwing a tantrum that he has to wrestle someone. Then we've got the very casual super kick afterwards. Followed by the Overbow toss, then Tatum just running away. Unreal. Totally unreal.
  22. I liked the series of drop kicks at the beginning and was digging the struggle on the mat. You can see Hokuto hitting her shin on the barrier when it happens and man its rough. Nasty gash for sure.
  23. Is it Onita back for a return match?
