  1. Fun finally catching up with PCW. Such an awesome roster with so many great storylines. Loved your description of the MVC taking on Danny Brown and Ace Gordon. The event in Calgary has an awesome card and like how you have connected the Battle Royal in the Saddledome to your big event in San Diego. This helps to sell tickets. Nice booking.
  2. October 14, 1989 Rip Rogers vs “The Fab One” Steve Keirn Before the match, Rogers does his entire bit where he scans the crowd in search of a new valet before letting everyone know that they are just as he thought… too ugly! This gives him some instant heat and makes the ovation even louder for the Fab One. As for the bout, both men started pretty clean, but this just helped Keirn gain the momentum as he was clearly better at this style. Rogers decided to take the match to the gutter after he nailed Keirn with a knee to the gut during what was too be a clean break. Rogers now used his momentum to set Keirn up for the Ripperplex (Superplex) but Keirn was able to block it and fight his way back down to apron. Keirn was fired up now and showed Rogers that he had no problem mixing it up. WHAM… Russian Legsweep by Keirn for the win and the crowd loves that the first match of the night went to the fan favorites. The Masked Executioners vs Kendall Windham & Sam Houston The Masked Executioners were able to connect with a double loaded head butt on Windham for the win. This came after they had tossed Houston to the floor where Houston seemed to have banged his head on the metal barricade separating the fans from the action. Tri-State Title Match The Dirty White Boy © vs Brad Armstrong The Dirty White Boy defeated Brad Armstrong with the Bucksnort Blaster (Power Slam) which was all set up by the loaded forearm smash by the DWD! Southern Tag Title Match The Studd Stable (Robert Fuller & Sid Eudy) vs The Freebirds (Hayes & Garvin) As you would expect… this one was wild! Fuller and Eudy were able to use their size and power to hit some big moves but the Freebirds used their speed and willingness to be dirtier then any heel in wrestling to make this a pretty even match. In the end, we see Michael Hayes shove Fuller into the ref and down he went Jerry Calhoun. Hayes and Garvin now went on the attack as they were able to catch the heels a bit off balance. Suddenly, the crowd explodes… here come Buddy Roberts! Hayes and Garvin grab Eudy by the head and ram him into the ring post. Hayes grabs Fuller and backs into the corner with Fuller in a Headlock! WHAM… Running Bulldog by Hayes on Fuller. Buddy Roberts quickly climbs the top rope as Hayes and Garvin hold Fuller down. Roberts leaps off the top…. WHAM… Diving Elbow Drop to the back of the neck to MICHAEL HAYES!! Garvin in shock. WHAM…. Buddy Roberts sucker punches Jimmy Garvin with a roll of quarters. Buddy quickly pulls Fuller on top of Michael Hayes just as the ref starts to crawl back to the action! 1…2….3! The bell rings and the ref hands the belts to the Studd Stable as Buddy Roberts stares down at the fallen Freebirds. The crowd is shocked as it looks like Buddy Roberts is with the Studd Stable! SEMI-MAIN EVENT Southern Heavyweight Title Match Jeff Jarrett © vs “The Dirty Dutchman” Dutch Mantel Young vs old! Clean vs dirty! Technical vs Brawler! Fan Favorite vs Heel! This bout couldn’t pit two more different wrestlers against each other. For all their differences, these two put on a great show! In the end, we see Dutch so frustrated that he headed outside to get his trusty bull whip. Give ref Jerry Calhoun some credit. As Dirty Dutch closed in a Jarrett, Calhoun got right in between Dutch and the champ. Mantel starts berating Calhoun, but Calhoun doesn’t back down. Dutch has no choice but to throw the bull whip down. WHAM… from behind, JJ with the roll up and Calhoun makes the 3-count and JJ survives in more ways than one. Mantel is fuming and goes right back for the bull whip but he can’t seem to catch JJ who heads back to the locker room holding his title high in the air to the delight of the fans! MAIN EVENT NO RULES-REF OUTSIDE THE RING Jerry “The King” Lawler vs “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert with Missy Hyatt As you could expect, this one is a brawl from beginning to end! We see Jerry Calhoun rush into the ring a few times as both wrestlers made a pin attempt but nothing was really close to ending the match. After about 20 minutes of a great match, the Masked Executioners came to ringside. These two are brand new to the CWA and nobody really knows anything about them but the fans all can sense that they are there to help Gilbert. For the first few minutes, they just seem watch, but you can tell Lawler is a bit unnerved. Lawler refocuses and nails Hot Stuff with a big elbow to the back of the head and follows it up with a leg drop. Lawler seems to be trying to end this one quickly before the Executioners can get involved. Lawler drags Gilbert and is looking to set up the piledriver. The Masked Executioners quickly are up on the apron and Lawler lets Gilbert go and dares the two masked men to get involved. There is a gasp from the fans…. The don’t believe their eyes…. From under the ring on the other side of the ring it is none other than JIMMY HART …. WITH A CHAIR! WHAM… Hart clobbers Lawler with a big chair shot to the head and down goes Lawler. Next thing you know, Gilbert and the Masked Executioners are all over Lawler! After a big time beating, Gilbert simply puts one foot across the chest of Lawler and Jerry Calhoun slowly comes in and makes the three-count! If this is not bad enough… one of the Masked Executioners grabs Lawler and locks him into the Figure 4! Gilbert is putting more pressure on the leg as it looks like the are trying to break it! The other Masked Executioner goes out to the floor and goes under the ring and comes out with …. a guitar? The fans are shocked and confused at the same time! WHAM… The Masked Executioner breaks the guitar over Lawler’s head and Lawler is out cold. Finally help is on the way in the form of JJ, Steve Keirn, Brad Armstrong and the Freebirds… Gilbert, Missy Hyatt, the Masked Executioners and Jimmy Hart exit the ring and start to celebrate what they just did to the King as the fan favorites rush to aid Lawler. Halfway up the apron, the heels stop and while dodging debris, Jimmy Hart has a house microphone and gets the attention of the fans…. Jimmy Hart: I would just like to welcome the First Family back to Memphis. You already know Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and the beautiful Missy Hyatt. I am sure nobody here in Hicksville has every forgotten me, the one and only Jimmy Hart but now let me introduce the rest of the First Family…. Executioners… please remove your masks! As they two slowly take off the masks, the crowd is once again shocked… it is none other than Jerry Lawler’s cousin, the Honky Tonk Man and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine!
  3. Memphis releases Col. Debeers
  4. Always enjoy your Starrcade Series. That group B is very hard to predict. Great work. Prichard and Studd looks like it's for all the marbles in group A
  5. Really liked Raw. The Enforcers are really after Bossman! Dusty vs Snake. Love it! These two are even better on the mic then in the ring. So many things can be done here. Great build to Survivor Series!!
  6. Memphis adds Don Bass, Joe Lightfoot, Tim Horner, Mike Miller, JT Southern, Killer Brooks, Doug Somers and Mike Jackson
  7. Great to catch up on the AWA. Sorry about missing so much. I really enjoyed The Happening. I thought your match details made each bout seem so vivid and clear. I loved the Mask vs Mask match. Great finish with El Canek being shocked that Mike Miller was under the mask only to be attacked by the real Black Blood. This reminded me so much of Mr. R in Georgia when Tommy Rich walked out and surprised Ted Dibiase only to have Brad Armstrong roll up Dibiase for the win. Great job. I wonder what holds for such a crowded tag division. You might just have the two most popular babyface flying tag teams in the RnR Express and The Fantastics. I wonder if they can coincide forever. Love the history of Larry Z vs David Samartino. This brings back to mind Larry Z and Bruno! Very creative. The fans would have loved those last 3 matches... the chaos of Hansen/Orndorff followed by the creative Wargames and then Hogan. Jumbo is back... Hogan better be ready. Wow... Hogan and Nikita together. Awesome
  8. Memphis adds Buddy Roberts, Tojo Yamamoto and Tarzan Goto

  11. AFTER A LONG HIATUS, MEMPHIS WRESTLING IS BACK! Championship Wrestling Association: Episode #1: October 12, 1989 The traditional CWA opening is played with some music being played as we see all the big stars of Memphis past hitting big moves. Lance Russell: Yellow again everybody. Lance Russell and Dave Brown here for Championship Wrestling. By golly we’ve got s goof program for ya’ll tonight. Dave Brown: We do indeed Lance and by the way, we also have a new Southern Heavyweight Champion. Lance Russell: Yes we do and we will get to that in just a few minutes. First let me tell all these great fans whats coming up in the next hour. Our opener will showcase “The Hustler” Rip Rogers facing off against Jay Tibbs. Then we’ve got none other than the King, Jerry Lawler facing off against The Dirty Dutchman, Dutch Mantel. The Southern Tag Team Champions, The Studd Stable will also be in action. The Dirty White Boy will be defending his Tri-State Title against Kendall Windham and it our final match of the day, it will be the Freebirds vs The Masked Executioners. Suddenly, Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt interrupt the segment! Lance Russell: Well folks, we did mention that we did have a new Southern Heavyweight Champion and the appearance of one Eddie Gilbert without his title proves that we were telling the truth. Last Monday at the Mid-South Coliseum, Jeff Jarrett defeated Eddie Gilbert and JJ is your new champion. Eddie Gilbert: That’s right Lance, I did lose the belt on Monday but I bet that there is no video of that match. Lance: No, have that we do not ready right now. Eddie Gilbert: Well that figures. Folks let me explain to you what happened. I beat Jeff Jarrett all over that ring. I had him crying like the little sissy boy he is. I almost felt sorry for him so I put him out of his misery by pinning him 1..2..3, right there in the center of the ring just like everybody knew I would. I mean I can beat Jeff Jarrett every day of the week and before and after church on Sundays. So, what happened after the ref counted Jarrett out? Let me tell you no good fans exactly who is to blame! It is the King… Jerry Lawler. I mean I won the match. The ref counted Jeff Jarrett’s shoulders to the mat for the count of three. He handed me my belt and then here comes Lawler! He walks straight to that ref who seems to have his hands in Lawler’s pockets, the most crooked referee ever to work in wrestling… Jerry Calhoun! Lawler tells Calhoun that the pin was caused because my feet were up against the ropes. Next thing I know, Calhoun grabs the belt from my hands, calls for the bell and restarts the match. Wham… from behind, the yellow-bellied coward, Jeff Jarrett comes up from behind and rolls me up for the fastest three count in the history of the world. Let me ask you this Lance. have you ever seen a team win the Superbowl and then the coach complain about a call and the ref takes the Superbowl trophy away? Don’t worry, you don’t have to answer that question as we all know the answer is NO! It was ridiculous. It was wrong and it was just another example of how Lawler is a cheater. Now listen up Lawler… if you got the guts, come face me this Monday in the Midsouth Coliseum. Just me and you… one on one. No rules. Referee only allowed in the ring to make a count. Let’s see what you can do without your pet zebra in the ring to protect you. As Eddie and Missy walk off, Lance hypes up the big challenge before sending us to the ring for our first match. MATCH #1 “The Hustler” Rip Rogers beat Jay Tibbs with the Ripperplex In his post-match interview, Rip explains that he is in search of a new valet and even though Memphis is known worldwide for having the ugliest women in all of the United States, he hopes that he can find just one women around here who takes care of herself and wants to help the most athletic man in all of wrestling answer the stupid letters that all these fans keep sending him. As Rip leaves, Jerry Lawler comes in. Jerry Lawler: I mean are you kidding me? That just proved that Rip Rogers is too stupid to even read. Does he think we believe that he has ever gotten even one piece of fan mail? I mean I think death threats are more likely than fan mail. Lance Russell: Now, now Jerry. How about we get to the big question at hand. Eddie Gilbert was out here earlier, and he challenged you to a No Rules… Ref on the Outside of the Ring Match for this Monday at the Midsouth Coliseum. What are your thoughts? Jerry Lawler: Yea I heard him, Lance. Instead of running his mouth about me costing him the Southern Heavyweight title by interfering in his match, how about we remind everyone just what Eddie Gilbert did to me two weeks ago when I was supposed to face Robert Fuller at the Mid-South Coliseum, and he snuck up behind me on my way to the ring and hit me over the head with a chair. Then he and that snake Fuller decided to take turns using my head as a pinata. Eddie Gilbert all you are is a big, spoiled brat and of course I except your challenge for Monday night. We don’t need any rules. We don’t need any referee. All we are going to need is a whole team of medics to take care of you when I am through with on you. I may even have a little surprise for you Monday night. Lance Russell: Well all right then. There you have it. Jerry “The King” Lawler and “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert going at with No Rules this Monday at the Coliseum. COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR THE MIDSOUTH COLISEUM ON MONDAY Before our next bout, we get a very humble interview from the new Southern Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett goes on to thank the fans for their support and thank Jerry Lawler for letting Jerry Calhoun know about Eddie Gilbert’s shenanigans. Lance Russell hypes up the fact that he will be having his first title defense against “The Dirty Dutchman” Dutch Mantel this week in the Coliseum and Jarrett seems to understand that he better be ready for the unexpected here as Dutch is just as likely to bend the rules in his favor as Eddie Gilbert was last week. This brings Dutch out who takes offense to Lance calling him a cheater. Dutch also gets right in the face of the young Jarrett and lets him know that he has been wrestling since Jarrett was in diapers and that he is going to make JJ’s title reign, the shortest in CWA history. Jarrett, smirks, as he reminds Dutch that he might be getting just old enough to start wearing diapers again and that he is ready for anything Dutch tries to pull. WHAM… Dutch went to clock JJ with a big right hand but JJ blocked it and returned one of his own. JJ simply told Dutch he would see him in the Mid-South Coliseum on Monday and walked off. Mantel is screaming about what happened but Lance simply tells him to head to the ring as “the King” is waiting. MATCH #2 “The King” Jerry Lawler vs “The Dirty Dutchman” Dutch Mantel This big-time match only goes for about 5 minutes before Eddie Gilbert charged the ring and attacked Lawler. The 2-1 attack has Lawler in trouble, and you can just tell from the aggressiveness of Gilbert, that he really does blame Lawler for losing his belt. The crowd erupted as Jeff Jarrett rushed the ring to even out the sides. Eventually, Lawler and JJ take control of the ring with the heels standing on the studio floor shaking the cobwebs from their heads. After the brawl, the heels go to the locker room and Lawler and JJ go to the podium, where JJ is upset at Dutch Mantel and says that he get wait for Monday night to shut Dutch Mantel up once and for all. Lance does explain to the young Jarrett that it might take more then a beating to shut up Mantel as he has been running his mouth for a long, long time. Once Lawler and JJ leave the podium, the Studd Stable (Robert Fuller and Sid Eudy) come out to talk with Lance with Women as their valet. They are wearing long robes and when they open the ropes, we see the Southern Tag Team Titles around their waists. Robert Fuller: Hey Lance, we got something we gotta clear up right here and now. Last week you should a video of Sid and I out partying with a whole lot of beautiful people, having a great time and then that loud mouth, Michael Hayes came out her running his mouth about how we lost our focus. About how he and Jimmy Garvin are the only tag team in the world today that can party every night and still get the job done. Well let me tell you one thing Michael Hayes… our number 1 focus is this here Southern Tag Titles but if you are what is considered our toughest competition then we can party all day… all night… and all day again and still whip you two sissy boys from pillar to post! Lance Russell: Well we will just see about that this Monday night at the Midsouth Coliseum as those Southern Tag Titles will be on the line against the Fabulous Freebirds! Sid Eudy: (laughing) See Freebirds… look at me… look at you! I am the epitome of a Studd! Six foot eight inches of pure muscle. You two puny sissy boys talk about how you two party every night down in Hotlanta… You talk about staying up all night down on Bad Street. Well that’s the difference. You two got to look for a party while when you are like us… two Studds… the party comes to you. And for us… this Monday at the Midsouth Coliseum will just be another party for Robert and I as we wipe the floor with you two and when I break you in half with the powerbomb… your career is over! COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR THE MIDSOUTH COLISEUM ON MONDAY MATCH #3 Tri-State Champion The Dirty White Boy vs Kendall Windham We get a pretty good back and forth bout for about 4 minutes but just as Kendall Windham looked to be gaining the momentum, The Dirty White Boy twisted that forearm brace to loaded it up and clobbered Kendall without the ref seeing. To make things worse, the DWB refused to pin Windham and kept pulling him up before the count of three and nailing Windham one more time. Finally, the crowd erupted as Lance Russell hyped up that Brad Armstrong was rushing to the ring to help Windham. Russell, also quickly noted that this Monday night in the Mid-South Coliseum, it would be The DWB and Armstrong battling for the Tri-State Championship. The Dirty White Boy rushed to meet Armstrong and the two exchanged a few blows in the center of the ring before the DWB headed for cover. The problem was that Armstrong thought the brawl was over and went to the end of Windham. This is when the DWB climbed the ropes and nailed Brad with one of those loaded forearm shots to the back of the neck. The DWB was all laughs as he left both Windham and Armstrong sprawled out on the floor and headed over to Lance Russell. Lance Russell: Come on Dirty White Boy… that was uncalled for. DWB: Shut up Lance Russell! You know what’s uncalled for. It’s me having to waste my time on Monday night defending my title belt against Brad Armstrong. I mean, what did it take… 30 seconds for me to lay him out. Lance Russell: Yeah and you did it just like a real man… I mean a cheap shot to the back of the head. Come on now! Folks, lets go to break. COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR THE MIDSOUTH COLISEUM ON MONDAY As we come out of break, we get a video of Hector and Chavo Guerrero who will soon be joining Championship Wrestling. We see some awesome moves but also a lot of dirty tactics. The Guerreros seem to be very proud of their black Mexican sombreros as they let every know that Memphis will never be the same after the Great Guerreros come to town. Lance Russell let’s everyone know that the Guerreros are two of the best wrestlers in the world, but chaos seems to follow them wherever they go and that fans should be ready! MATCH #4 The Freebirds vs The Masked Executioners This match is pretty wild but that is right up the Freebirds ally as we eventually see Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin connect with double running bulldogs for the win. Garvin and Hayes head over to the podium where they are all fired up about their Southern Tag Team Title match on Monday against the Studd Stable. Michael Hayes: Lance… A little while ago I was in the back, and I couldn’t stop laughing at the Studd Stable. I mean do they really think they can out party the Michael “Purely Sexy” Hayes and Jimmy Jam Garvin. Not a chance in the world and that’s the same chance they have of keeping those belts after Monday. Jimmy Garvin: Ooohhhh Michael you are so right! I mean Sid Eudy was talking about him being the perfect male specimen. Wasn’t it just a few months ago that he was running around here wearing a hockey mask covering up that ugly face of his. Monday… Studd Stable …. You’re going to find out what Freebirdmania is all about! We are the best there was… the best there is…. And the best their ever will be! COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR THE MIDSOUTH COLISEUM ON MONDAY MATCH #5 Brad Armstrong says there is no sense waiting to Monday and challenged the DWB just a few minutes ago as a result of the DWB’s nonsense against Kendall Windham earlier tonight. TV TIME REMAINING MATCH TRI-STATE TITLE MATCH The DWB vs Brad Armstrong While this one sounds great on paper, it goes only about 3 minutes before complete chaos. Eddie Gilbert hits the ring first and goes right after Brad. This is followed by Jeff Jarrett who just took the title from Gilbert last week. Here comes Dutch Mantel after JJ. Next, we get The Studd Stable but they are caught by the Freebirds before they even get to the ring. Finally… “The King” Jerry Lawler hits the ring and as we are signing off for the night, we see Lawler on the top rope coming off for a fist drop on Eddie Gilbert. Lance Russell: Pure chaos as usually here folks. Hope to see ya’ll out at the Mid-South Coliseum this Monday night. Until next time, this is Lance Russell and Dave Brown saying See Ya at the Matches! MIDSOUTH COLISEUM CARD FOR MONDAY Rip Rogers vs “The Fab One” Steve Keirn The Masked Executioners vs Kendall Windham & Sam Houston Tri-State Title Match The Dirty White Boy © vs Brad Armstrong Southern Tag Title Match The Studd Stable (Robert Fuller & Sid Eudy) vs The Freebirds (Hayes & Garvin) Southern Heavyweight Title Match Jeff Jarrett © vs “The Dirty Dutchman” Dutch Mantel NO RULES-REF OUTSIDE THE RING Jerry “The King” Lawler vs “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert

  18. Very interesting format. Nice job!
  19. Wow... the amount of work you put into WrestleRock is just awesome!! I really enjoyed the details to your matches. I really struggle with this but you knocked it out of the park. I especially loved the one with Colon vs Sawyer. It had so many great visuals like the baseball bat and the trash can! I also commend you for having such a diverse card. It truly had something for everyone.... The ECW-like match with Colon-Sawyer as I already mentioned. The old time Western brawl with Hansen and Blackjack... Loved this one!!! It is really in my wheelhouse. All the stars who would draw in the more casual fan like Foreigner, ZZ Top, Phylicia Rashad and Tex Cob! Cobb with the big blow to Larry Z was awesome! Grudge Matches like the Loser-Leave Town Match for the tag titles was great! New appearances like the Renegade Warriors Return of big names like the RnR Express! Babyface turns.... Loved seeing Jake nail Greg Gagne! and lets not forget the big one... Hogan over Jumbo!!! Wow... the AWA is White Hot!!! Great event
  20. kevinmcfl replied to Control21's topic in Programming
Very interested in why you chose an event in Moscow? Was there a relationship between the UWF and Russia or was this just for the fun of the game?
  21. Awesome SNME! I thought the Skyscrapers carrying the guardrail back with Paul E. still handcuffed to it was a great visual. You are doing an a great job of giving off a true WWF feel. For example, I think we all knew that Rude was going to beat Brutus but all the antics and showmanship before the match with the Barber getting a piece of Rude's hair to him coming back in the ring after his lose with the sheers is TRUE WWF. Nice work. Also, great planning and booking. SNME did a great job of moving the angles forward. Again, I always thought Andre and Demolition were going to win but then you add in Giant Gonzalez and we are already moving into the next big card. Great job. We have also seen Dusty and Funk a thousand times but your way of Funk with the mask + you add Savage and Rude to this. What an angle... great job. MNE vs The Rockers... Instant classic. Loved this format!
  22. Enjoying Bay Doll's new group. With Studd as the enforcer, they will be hard to beat. Also enjoyed the pomp and circumstance of the crowing of Landel. This would have been a fun segment back in 89. Nice job. I think Poffo is a great opponent for Too Cold Scorpio. This will be a fun feud. Looking forward to Bash at the Beach and the Starrcade Series.
  23. THE OMNI ATLANTA, GEORGIA JULY 24, 2024 Doug Gilbert vs “The Latin Heartthrob” Al Perez with Missy Hyatt Missy Hyatt took to the mic before the bout started and said how great it was to finally be with a man who was as Hot as she was. This was obviously done to stir up Doug Gilbert as Missy used to be with Eddie Gilbert, Doug’s brother. Both Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross did seem to agree that Missy and Al do make one good looking couple. As for the bout, you have to give Doug some credit here as he gave everything Al could handle including a Hot Shot Suplex… again, it seems this was done in honor of Eddie. Missy rushed the ring and made the save by placing The Latin Heartthrob’s leg over the bottom rope. Eventually, we see Missy do enough dirty tactics to allow Al to lock in the sleeper for the submission win! The problem came when Perez refused to release the hold. It was obvious that Gilbert was out of it, but Perez wanted to make a point! Schiavone and Ross really seemed frightened for the well-being of young Doug Gilbert when all of sudden the crowd exploded. It was “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert rushing to the ring. We have not seen him in WCW in months!! From behind… Gilbert leaps off the top rope with a flying elbow to the neck of Perez. Perez is stunned and rolls towards the ropes. Missy, who looks like she has seen a ghost, drags her new man out of the ring while Eddie is daring his to Perez to come back. Missy and Al actually scamper up the aisle as Eddie goes to the aid of his brother. Once Doug is on his feet, we see an embrace between the brothers and then they both raise each other’s hand and get a nice ovation from the crowd. “Mr. Magnificent” Kevin Kelly vs Scott “Flash” Norton Sometimes you are just a little too cocky. That is exactly what happened to Mr. Magnificent here at the Bash. He was so sure that he was going to easily defeat the rookie that he started toying with “the Flash.” No matter how inexperienced Scott Norton is, he is just too big and powerful to be taken lightly. In the end, Norton ducked under a big clothesline and came off the ropes with a big spear for the win. Kelly was so angry that he was shaking the ropes and screaming at anyone who would listen. Hercules Hernandez vs “The Hustler” Rip Rogers Hercules came to the ring first and continued to win the fans over with some high-fives and big smiles. This babyface version of Hercules was made easier when the Hustler came to the ring taunting everyone including Hercules. Rip got in his face and did some flexing and trying to show off just how in shape he was. Hercules just sort of laughed it off and gave a big flex of his own. It was obvious he was the stronger man and Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross wondered if Rip Rogers would ever learn. Aghhhh… After a dumb dare of a test of strength by the Hustler to Hercules, Rip was already screaming in pain. Rip now tried to play the stall tactics. but it was no help. Once Hercules got his hands on Rip, it was all but over. The end came rather quickly as The Hustler had no choice but to submit to the full nelson! Psycho Sid with Oliver Humperdink vs Dick Murdoch This match never got started! There was some screw up backstage as Psycho Sid seemed to come to the ring a little early. Hercules Hernandez was still mucking it up with the fans as Sid walked down to the ring. The two meet in the aisle. Humperdink seemed to order Hercules to step aside. Hercules didn’t like the way he was talked to and got in the face of Humperdink. Sid didn’t like the way Hercules was talking to Humperdink. A few shoves later and we are in a full-on brawl! Both men had to be pulled off of each other by about a dozen security guards only to break free a few times to allow the fight to continue. In the end, both Hercules and Sid took and gave some major blows. The ring announcer announced that for the safety of all involved, both Hercules and Sid have been ordered to leave the building and unfortunately for the fans and Dick Murdoch, his math vs Psycho Sid will be postponed. WINNER TO BE THE FIRST EVER WCW WOMEN’S CHAMPION Madusa Micelli vs “The Magnificent Mimi” A great showcase for the women ended in chaos as the Hustler, Rip Rogers rushed out to the ring and grabbed Madusa’s leg as she was lifting Mimi up for a suplex. This caused Mimi to fall on top of Madusa and with a grab of the tights and two feet across the bottom rope for added leverage, Mimi became the first ever WCW Women’s champion. Both Rip and Mimi leave arm in arm with the belt around Mimi’s waist! TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH Doom (Hacksaw Reed & Ron Simmons) with Teddy Long vs The Anti-American Coalition (Iron Sheik & Mr. Saito) Doom gets the win by count-out as Hacksaw Reed Military Pressed Slammed the Iron Sheik over the top rope and right on top of Mr. Saito who had just been body slammed on the concrete floor by Ron Simmons. The two heels struggled to reach their feet and neither was close to getting back in the ring before the 10-count. The fans hope that this is just the beginning of a long night for the AAC! MASK VS MASK The Patriot vs The Russian Assassin This match was a war! The Patriot, who is 6’5, 275 pounds was giving up almost 50 pounds to the Russian Assassin. The Assassin used this advantage to keep his man down for the majority of the match but then the crowd really got into it and urged the Patriot to rise up. Slowly at first, the Patriot started to shrug off the blows by the Assassin and then it was like a mosquito trying to take down a ragging bull as the Patriot just No Sold blow after blow. WHAM… Block of a right hand by the Patriot and now he is a like a house a fire… throwing blow after blow. With the Assassin down, The Patriot climbed to the top rope and comes off with a big shoulder block, a move Jim Ross dubbed the Patriot Missile. Next, the strong, well-built Patriot locks in a full nelson on the big man and slams him face first to the mat. Again, Jim Ross with the catchy naming of the move says that the Patriot might have just left the Russian Assassin unconscious with the Uncle Sam Slam. The Patriot covers The Russian Assassin and gets the three count! Now, the Patriot unties the mask and starts to pull it off but just as it come off, the Iron Sheik and Mr. Saito hit the ring and attack the Patriot with a few blows. The Iron Sheik quickly puts a towel over the face of the Russian Assassin and they usher him to the back. Tony Schiavone thinks that he has an idea of who the Russian Assassin was but he doesn’t want to announce it as he is unsure because the Sheik covered him up so fast. Jim Ross admits that he didn’t get a look at whoever it was but that he is not surprised that the Anti-American Coalition once again failed to honor the stipulations of the match. FOUR CORNER TORNADO MATCH FOR THE VACTED WCW WORLD TELEVISION TITLE “Mr. Perfect” Curt Henig w/ Gary Hart vs Jeff Jarrett w/ Miss. Tennessee vs Black Bart vs Brad Armstrong The rules for this match are simple… all 4 men in the ring at the same time and all 4 men are considered legal. All 4 men had a little time to shine in this match in this chaotic bout where everyone wanted to leave with the title! The end saw Mr. Perfect perfectly bide his time as he watched Black Bart come off the top rope for a double leg drop on Brad Armstrong. Black Bart was so sure he had the win that he took a little too long coming over for the pin. Curt Hennig attacked Black Bart from behind…. WHAM…. Perfect Plex on Black Bart. Hennig now looks like he has two choices on who to pin. Armstrong is still down and so is Black Bart… Hennig covers Armstrong as the ref gets ready to start the count… WHAM…. Jeff Jarrett with a death leap off the top rope on Black Bart…. 1…2….3! Tony Schiavone: And there you have it folks, Mr. Perfect is your knew WCW World Television Champion. Jim Ross: I’m not sure Tony. Jeff Jarrett seemed to be on top of Black Bart just as the ref was making the three count. We might have two winners in this bout? The ref goes over to the ring announcer…. Ring Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen… referee Pee Wee Anderson has declared both Mr. Perfect and Jeff Jarrett as the winners of this match and therefore the WCW World Television Title cannot be awarded to anyone at this time. Jarrett and Hennig just look at each other. Hennig is in shock. while JJ just shrugs his shoulders at Hennig It seems these two are destined for a match in the near future. BOOT CAMP MATCH Sgt. Slaughter vs Colonel Debeers Ok… This one is very predictable. We see both men come out in their fatigues and use their attire as weapons. We get riding crop whips from Slaughter, walking stick beatings from Debeers, combat boot stomps by both but in the end, it was Slaughter using the helmet for a massive headbutt that gave him the advantage. With Debeers in trouble, Sgt. Locked in the cobra clutch for the knockout victory! STEEL CAGE MATCH Roddy Piper & “The King” Jerry Lawler vs The Hart Foundation (Owen Hart & Jim Neidhart) Brawl… Brawl… Brawl! In fact, the only legal moves of the night might have come from the Hart Foundation as Owen showed he is more than just a fighter. Each man had his time to shine in this wild melee. Piper using the cage to bloody Owen. Neidhard biting “The King” Owen with a face front suplex of the King into the steel cage. Lawler off the top of the cage with a fist drop on Owen. It was pure chaos…. Only to get even more crazy! Lawler went for the pin on Owen after the fist drop… WHAM… Neidhart with the shoulder block for the save. Piper is in and going after Neidhart. All 4 men are brawling in the center of the ring. WHAM… Piper tosses “The Anvil” face first into the cage and the crowd is going wild as the fan favorites are in complete control. Lawler has Owen up for the piledriver… WHAM… from behind, Roddy Piper has suckered “The King” and has taken his knees out from behind. Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone have no idea what has gotten into Piper but Piper is all over Lawler. Eventually we get Piper and the Harts just pummeling Lawler. With the King out on his feet, Owen simply covers him for the three count and the victory. Unfortunately for Lawler, his trouble is just beginning. Owen exits the ring and goes under it where he pulls out a large chain which he wraps around the door and locks it up as he re-enters the ring. The 3-1 beating continues for what seems to be an eternity! Suddenly, the crowd erupts as Doom rush the ring. Hacksaw Butch Reed and Ron Simmons try playing with the lock but can’t get in. The beating on Lawler just continues. Doom have no choice but to climb over the cage to get into the ring! Finally, they are in and are able to chase the Hart Foundation and Piper away as they go to the aid of Lawler. Lawler is selling this beating very well as he needs help all the way to the back. Ross and Schiavone try to unpack all we have just seen from the Piper turn on Lawler and Doom coming to the aid of Lawler. Both can’t wait for the next TV show to see what the heck is going on here! WCW UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH “The Total Package” Lex Luger © with Woman vs “The Texas Tornado” Kerry VonErich This match was everything you could expect as the momentum kept swinging back and forth but in the end, Kerry was able to connect with multiple Discus Punches for the victory. WCW WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH (Only WCW Title is on the line) WCW World Champions Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson with Woman vs WCW United States Champions: The Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin) This match was all about which team could pull off the last dirty trick and take home the World Title and in the end, it was the Horsemen who could not walk all the way down Bad Street and survive. After tossing Arn into the ring post, Michael Hayes climbed to the top rope where he helped Jimmy Garvin execute the nastiest Spike Brainbuster on Tully for the win. The Freebirds now hold both the U.S. Titles and the World Titles! They truly are the #1 tag team in WCW! It turned out that the Freebirds might just have been right when they said that tonight would mark the end of the Horsemen. Lex and now Tully and Arn have already lost their titles. WCW WORLD TITLE MATCH Ric Flair © with Woman vs Sting Sting starts quick and is all over Flair in this main event. Eventually, Flair pulls out the dirty tactics and is back on top. Sting can only take so much before he starts to No Sell the champ’s moves. Sting blocks one more big right hand from Flair before he roars back on top in this bout. He whips Flair into the ropes and up and over the champ goes. Flair knows he is in trouble and just starts to walk away up the ramp. Sting, seeing his title hopes disappear, goes after Flair. The two battle in the aisle as ref Pee Wee Anderson begins his 10-count! Sting drags Flair back to the ring and they both make it back in just before the count. Back and forth we go with each man connecting with some big plays. Eventually Sting, using the energy from the crowd takes over. WHAM… Stinger Splash! It looks like Sting is about to win the title! 1…2… Kick Out by Flair! Sting drags the champ to the center of the ring and locks in the Scorpion Death Lock! Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone can’t believe that in the matter of an hour, the Horsemen will all lose their titles! Flair is doing everything in his power to not give up, but he is in a real bad way! WHAM… “Oh No, it’s the devil himself” says Jim Ross as Arn Anderson comes flying in with a top rope knee drop to the back of Sting’s neck. Arn doesn’t seem at all interested in going after Sting. He simply wanted to cause the DQ and that is what he has done. Sting lunges at Arn but Arn is already heading back to the locker room. Sting turns again to Flair who is still down. Sting again locks in the Scorpion Death Lock and Flair is screaming that he submits but Pee Wee Anderson is just shaking his head “NO” to Sting and telling him the match is over. Sting slams Flair down to the canvass and then slumps himself across the top rope in total shock that he once again came so close to winning the world title! Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross debate is the Freebirds were right that the bond between the Horsemen is weakening. Tony says he doesn’t think so as Arn came out to make the save tonight but Jim leaves us with “but where were Lex and Tully.”
  24. Nice touch getting Zeus involved in a perfect role. Loved the little hair cut on Rude. Nice build up. Even in a quick promo, Dusty really delievered. Midnight Express vs Demolition- love the contrast in styles here. Fun show!!
  25. By reading this, I think you are really enjoying some of the new talent that has come into PCW. Bully seems to be on a roll as does "The Man of Means" along with Dr. Death and Gordy. The way that you run your promotion with all the factions, I think Deseret Storm is the perfect big event. Great booking. Was surprised to see the loser-leave town match between Cactus Jack and the Soul Taker. Ricky Steamboat is the perfect champion but there is so much talent out there in PCW, it will be interesting to see where you ultimately go next.
