Ox Baker had tried to interfere but was knocked down with the Big Boot to the face by Hogan
  2. Sorry for the pic. Will fix it.
  3. Nice show to hype up all the angles. To me, Georgia was always about these giant groups of Babyfaces and Heels going after each other and you did a nice job of showing that here as each interview talked about the attack on Rich and the Armstrongs. Might be a good place for a Lumberjack match or a survivor series gauntlet type match
  4. Nice show here that would have had the fans on the edge of their seats in the Loser Leave Town Match. Big Red still has a bit of a learning curve but when he gets it.... Oh My!
  5. kevinmcfl replied to spaldoni's topic in Programming
You are getting so much out of this Funk, Bockwinkle, Race trio and I could see them just playing musical chairs for a long time with the title and it would all be so believable. I was pleasantly surprised that it was Austin Idol who attacked Hogan. That is another believable match that would have a lot of a pomp and circumstance. Nice job getting the young Spivey into an angle right away. Loved the tag team match for the title as I was completely unsure what would happen. Atlas and Ayala should make great champs!
  6. This really had that World Class feel as chaos was all around. The Sportatorium fans were some of the best in wrestling and I could just feel their excitement. It was like these fans lived every punch of the show like they were getting hit and you brought those feelings out with this show. Kabuki turning babyface? If he does it will be fun but he might need a mouthpiece. Bart is a perfect World Class heel with his yelling and screaming interviews... he would get some real heat down in Texas as would his partner Ron Bass. Schultz, Murdoch, TA, VonErichs and the Freebirds.... Classic World Class!
  7. I have said it before but I find your format so easy to read which adds to the enjoyment. You also do a nice job of not rushing your angles as each city gets to see some of it. I like how you used Mr. Wrestling II here. Even though he is up there in age, II vs Flair would still sell the tickets! Also love Jake the Snake as a heel with Jones. It just seems so natural.
  8. AWA ALL-STAR WRESTLING: April 7, 1984: WGN TV: Winnipeg Arena From coast to coast, continent to continent and border to border, we welcome you to AWA All-Star Wrestling coming to you from the Winnipeg Arena. I am Rod Trongard and what a show we have for you tonight. Let’s get ready our first match. As the camera starts to focus on the ring, the cameraman gets stuck starring and one hot lady and it is like he can’t help himself. It seems to happen over and over again throughout the show. STORY LINE #1: AWA WORLD TITLE MATCH: Bad News Allen defeats Jules Strongbow with the Ghetto Blaster At the interview desk, Bad News is still claiming he is the only undefeated wrestler in All-Star Wrestling and he deserves a World Title Shot but Verne Gagne is afraid to make the match because he knows that chump Hulk Hogan can’t beat him. Verne Gagne comes out and says that he never gives into the demands of a wrestler but the facts are the facts and the AWA Board of Directors has declared Bad News Allen the #1 contender for the AWA World Title. So Bad News, your title shot will be on April 25th in the Coral in Calgary against whoever the World Champion is. Bad News is rolling his hand in a fist and slamming it into the other as he is already amped up for a match that is over 3 weeks away. Trongard wants Gagne to explain what he meant by the statement whoever is the champion as we all know the champ is Hulk Hogan. Verne Gagne: You are corrected Rod but Hulk has a lot of matches all over the AWA over the next few weeks and he actually has a match against Bob Sweetan this week in the St. Paul Civic Center! If Hogan does lose any of those matches, Bad News Allen will face the new champion. MATCH: Bob Sweetan with Ox Baker defeats Marty Jannety with 2 piledrivers… (Ox also added a Heart Punch for effect after the match was already over) When asked why he gave young Jannety a second piledriver, Sweetan responded, “Just to show that chump Hogan what is going to happen to him this week in St. Paul. They don’t call me Mr. Piledriver for nothing and when I am done with him, they will introduce Hogan as the 2 time former AWA champion! He cheated his way to the title from Jerry Lawler and now I am going to prove that cheaters never win. Interview with Hulk Hogan later in the show: Okerlund is so excited to welcome in the new AWA Heavyweight Champion, Hulk Hogan. Hogan is real humble in the fact that he owes a lot to the fans and to Randy Savage for stopping Ox Baker and Bob Sweetan from interfering in the match he won the title against from Jerry Lawler. He Hulkamaniacs and the Largest Arms in the World… Bad News Allen will no longer be undefeated. He then turns his attention to Bob Sweetan and his match in St. Paul this week and he gets real serious and warns Sweetan that he has truly angered the Hulkster and that means Bad News for him! STORY LINE #2: YOUNG LIONS TOURNAMENT MATCH: Young Lions Tournament Nikita Koloff vs Bart Batten It takes all of 30 seconds for Nikita to connect with the Russian Sickle and gain the victory. The problem was that Uncle Nicolai on the outside of the ring wanted more so Nikita pulled Batten up at the count of two and hit another Russian Sickle! 1…. 2… Rod Trongard: Oh Come on. Koloff has pulled Batten up again. Irish Whip and Russian Sickle #3! Finally we get the three count as Battan is completely out of it. Just as Nikita and Nicolai exit the ring with the victory, the crowd explodes as Sargent Slaughter hits the ring! Trongard can’t believe Sarge is back in All-Star Wrestling and he is sounding confident that Sarge will find away to fix the Russian problem around here. Slaughter is pointing at Nikita and daring him to come back in the ring. Nikita is game but Nicolai convinces him to walk away and fight another day. Sargent Slaughter with Gene Okerland: Sgt. Slaughter: Enough is Enough. I have watched these Commie maggots for the past few weeks and they seem to have one goal. Injur wrestlers from the great U.S. of A. Ffrom now on, they are going to have to go through me. I have already got Verne Gagne to sign the match and this week it will be me in Volkoff in the St. Paul Civic Center and when it is over… it will be the Red White and Blue leaving with the victory. MATCH: Keiji Mutoh defeats Ricky Vaughn with the Superkick (Once again, Mutoh’s martial arts and aerial tactics wow the crowd!) STANDINGS: Eddie Gilbert 1-0: 2 Points Bart Batten: 0-1: 0 Points Nikita Koloff 1-0: 2 Points Marty Jannety 0-1: 0 Points Davey Boy Smith 1-0: 2 Points Kendall Windham 1-0: 2 Points Keiji Mutoh 1-1: 2 Points Ricky Vaughn 0-2: O Points ANGLE 3: THE AWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE: MATCH: The Sheiks (Jerry Blackwell & Ken Patera) crush Tom Stone & Micky Brady At the interview desk, Sheik Adnan Al Kassie is all hyped up about his two men being the last two standing at last week’s $10,000 Over the Top Rope Battle Royal in the Rosemont Horizon. He goes on to demand another shot at the Road Warriors and the AWA Tag team title. He says there is no team in professional wrestling that can match size and strength and the soon the titles will be around the waist of the rightful champions. All of a sudden, Rod Trongard is shocked as Dr. Death Steve Williams and Manny Fernandez make their first appearance in All-Star Wrestling and get right in the faces of the Sheiks and say that the #1 contenders to the AWA Tag title will now go through them and there is nothing the Sheik’s money he can do about it! To the surprise of everyone around, this really tense situation remains nonviolent but you can tell Blackwell and Patera are not the least bit intimated. This is a situation that we will have to keep our eyes on and there is no doubt that the Road Warriors have some real competition here in All-Star Wrestling. STORYLINE #4: THE HEENAN FAMILY Gene Okerlund interviews the entire family (Heenan, Hennig, Rude and the North American Champion Bret Hart) Gene Okerlund: It seems to me Bobby Heenan, your “family” is getting real good at ducking the competition. Bobby Heenan: ok… listen to me you bald headed fruit cake. The wrestler’s I manage would never duck anyone. I mean in just a few minutes, the Ravishing One is going to wrestle Tupper Ware Trongard: You mean Koko Ware Heenan: What ever, nobody will know his name when Rude is done with him. Also, this week in St. Paul, Bret Hart will defend his title against none other than the boss’s son… Greg Gagne. Gene Okerlund sees Bret Hart laughing at that one and Okerlund wonders why? Bret Hart: Give me a break… first Verne Gagne steals my father’s company and then he thinks his unathletic son deserves to be in the same ring as me. Greg Gagne comes rushing to ring and is fuming about Bret Hart and the camera catches him yelling to the interview area for Bret Hart to come to the ring now if he thinks he is so good! Bret Hart with a smirk on his face heads to the ring and the rest of the family follows. While there is no referee in the ring, Hart enters and goes right after Gagne who ducks under Bret and rolls him up for what is an obvious three count. While this is going on, we see Randy Savage and Rick Martel rush out to the ring to even the sides. Bret Hart finally kicks out and rolls to the floor with the rest of the family as Gagne, Martel and Savage control the ring. The “Family” is fuming and the crowd loves that Bobby “the Brain” Heenan was finally outsmarted for once. Later in the show… Heenan who is all business leads Rick Rude to the ring for his match against Koko Ware. MATCH: Rick Rude vs Koko Ware A really good tv match that goes nearly 10 minutes. We see Rude use his power to his advantage but there where plenty of times that Koko was just too fast for Rude and was able to control the action. Ware hit Rude with three big headbutts and climbed to the top rope and was about to fly but Heenan was able to shake the ropes causing Ware to lose his balance and Koko fell into one of those obviously painful splits across the top rope. Rude recovered… executed a big piledriver and gained the win. Later we find out that Verne was so mad at “the families” comments about him and his son that he added a match for the St. Paul Civic Center. It will be Randy Savage against Bobby Heenan! As the crowd goes nuts, Heenan comes running out and is screaming about the injustice and how it isn’t safe to get in the ring with a Wildman like Savage. This time, it is Verne who smirks and simply walks away. STORYLINE #5: HOT STUFF INC. The crows is interested to see who comes out with Eddie Gilbert as Rod Trongard reminds us that Gilbert promised a new and improved Hot Stuff Inc. after Jimmy Garvin left All-Star Wrestling because he was jealous that Precious liked him more. As Eddie Gilbert walks out he is alone but he is in a sleeveless tuxedo like he is going to give out an award… Eddie Gilbert: Being as perfect as I am… I mean who else is soon going to be the AWA Light Heavyweight Champion and the 1984 Young Lion of the Year, I knew Hot Stuff Inc. needed the perfect manager. I need someone who could come to the ring and knock someone out if I needed. I needed someone who could articulate the needs of Hot Stuff to Verne Gagne when he is keeping us down. In other words, I needed someone who is as Perfect as me! Rod Trongard: Oh brother! Come on Gilbert. Do you have a new member of “Hot Stuff Inc.” All of a sudden that hot lady from the crowd gets up and simply steps over the railing and comes over to the interview desk. She is like 5’10 and looks like she could handle any situation that may arise as she has the body to do anything! Eddie Gilbert: No… I have the Perfect 10 as my new manager! Welcome to All-Star Wrestling Baby Doll! The duo lock arms and strut away! OTHER MATCHES: Bruce Hart defeated Dynamite Kid by DQ in a Light Heavyweight Title match as Davey Boy Smith pushed Hart off the top rope as he was going for a top rope elbow drop. Keith Hart rushed out but he also succumbed to the 2-1 attack. We find out later that it will be the Hart Brothers vs Kid and Davey Boy Smith in the St. Paul Civic Center. The Turk Ali Bey defeats Bubba Douglas with the Camel Clutch
  9. Great way to get us hooked in to the TV show with Youngblood coming out of the car but then not answering any questions as he headed up to the boss's office and this angle continued throughout your house show loop as we see Jay become the special ref and then promise to not get involved and then he did anyway... so the plot just keeps getting thicker. Love It! Great joint show and House show loop but I would have gone wild to see Reed vs Steamboat and Playboy Buddy Rose vs Orndorff. With you continuing to used loaned talent from other places, your promotion feels like what could happen if we all came together as one and that is awesome!
  10. So much happening here! Your writing style gives this all such a real feel! I am enjoying all of your title changes as it gives the feuds an element of surprise. The Rat Patrol wins some and then the Midnight Express win some. This gives each match its own feel and keeps fans involved. Have Fire and Flame become the Assassins? Flair vs Brody will be expect! Great show
  11. Nice round of shows again with your House shows giving us a lot of insight into your angles. Would love to here more from Hacksaw Reed and Wildfire on tv but that is my own bias as they were two of my favorites. Was surprised to see Roop save Daniels but Roop was awesome as both a heel and a babyface. He was very underrated in my opinion. I hope Hansen respects that AWA TV title more than he did the AWA World title in real life. I heard he ran it over with a truck or something before giving it back to Verne. He should make a great champ and will be hard to beat.

What a show for the fans in San Antonio! Nice start with the AWA Light Heavyweight match where McGraw gave Dynamite Kid all he could handle. Stasiak is making a great manager for Jumbo Guerreros and Sheepherders might need a steel cage or a lumberjack match to contain this white hot feud. I like Wells in this role of getting a lot of attention on TV but putting over Atlas in the big show. Wells was really underrated and I love your use of him. He could have been bigger in real life especially in the Southern brawling promotions like TNT. Race and Ayala was a war and I could have seen that going either way. Race is such a big name in pro wrestling but Ayala was one tough hombre. You have done another magic act with a great midcard feud between Jaggers and Street. Can Street now get revenge is the question. Tully could be TV champ forever and it would never get old! That is until he wants more. The sky is the limit. Nightmares are proving to be just that for the Fab Ones... a true Nightmare! Funk vs Bockwinkle.... a perfect outcome for Texas! What happens next? If the big show is in Memphis... the King might have some input. WHAT A SHOW... WHAT A ROSTER
  13. Great show! JYD vs Kamala on TV where we actually get a winner is awesome. Also, the Tournament is shaping up nicely. Pringle may be right when he says nobody can stand up to OMG. All is right in the wrestling world when the Freenbirds/VonErich feuds are going strong. I love the mix of World Class and Mid-South. Interested to see how big Magnum T.A. is going to be.
  14. The Rosemont Horizon: Chicago: April 4th, 1984 1. Koko Ware & Sweet Brown Sugar defeats Buck Zumhofe & Jules Strongbow in a match that ends with a handshake following the Double Drop Kick on Zumhofe 2. YOUNG LIONS TOURNAMENT: Kendall Windham defeats Ricky Vaughn with the Running Bulldog 3. Ox Baker defeats Mr. Wrestling II as Bob Sweetan hit Wrestling II with a piledriver when the ref was knocked down. 4. AWA LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Dynamite Kid defeats Greg Gagne with help from Jos Leduc who distracted the ref and allowed Kid to catch Gagne with a foreign object 5. Crusher defeats Ciclon Negro after a wild brawl 6. Bruce Hart & Jim Neidhart defeat Jos Leduc and Davey Boy Smith as Gagne came to ringside and got the attention of Leduc. This allowed him to get in an Anvil Powerslam. 7. Nicolai Volkoff defeated Brad Rheingans with the Bear Hug. 8. $10,000 20 MAN OVER THE TOP BATTLE ROYAL Winner: The Sheiks: After disposing of many of the other wrestlers, Jerry Blackwell and Ken Patera found themselves to be the last two standing. It appeared that they were going to fight it out to see who was the best but Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie got them both to leave the ring through the middle ropes and share the victory. 9. Randy Savage & Rick Martel defeated Bret Hart & Curt Hennig when Bobby Heenan accidentally hit Hart with a chair which allowed Martel to cover him. Rick Rude rushed the ring and Heenan’s family ended up leaving Savage and Martel laying in the ring.
  15. Great set of house shows! That show is Lakeland was awesome as would be any show with Barry Windham in the opening! -Rick Rude is excited to be pulling some double duty here. I hope he makes a good first champ for you.
  16. Nice set of house shows that keeps all of the top talent real hot without giving too much away as the angles continue to grow.
  17. Great set of shows here. Ricky Gibson better be careful in a year or two as Red is no the come! Madril helped out Playboy but Playboy might not have returned the favor as we get the Loser Leave Town match with Piper. Rock n Roll Express-East West Connection could be a great feud of opposite styles. Slater vs Billy Jack... Awesome. Slater is so good and bringing the heat.... This one could sell some real tickets!
  18. I have no problem with Kiniski as long as nobody else does.

That is fine. We will leave him as a ref as that his what he is most known for.
  21. kevinmcfl replied to kevinmcfl's topic in Dawn of War
Current List: Hulk Hogan Mr. Wrestling II Marty Jannety Lance VonErich Brad Rheingans
  22. No problem. I love it. It makes sense as you need to keep drawing in the same fans week after week and title changes would have them buying tickets over and over again
  23. All-Star sends Jimmy Garvin and Precious to Southeastern for Steve Williams and Baby Doll
  24. Nice set of house of shows. Loved the bodyslam challenge! This might be the only time David Sammertino was the main event instead of Hulk Hogan. That is how over Tommy Rich was in Georgia. He better watch his back because when Hart turns on him, he could run for Governor of Georgia.
  25. kevinmcfl replied to spaldoni's topic in Programming
Oh and the family feud begins!!!! Honky Tonk with the guitar shot. If you have never seen it, search the Tupelpo Concession Stand fight.... awesome. I am enjoying the resurgence of Master G! Miss Linda is causing havoc... always fun when a female played a major role in the mid 80's! Nice use of Regal and McGraw to give the Light HW title a little attention. Nice role here for Stasiak as his in-ring career is winding down/ Decimation is ringing up quickly. Can't wait for the big show in the Hemisfair Arena
