Great use of the camera angle. Wasn't sure if that was a typo or what when you said he stole the camera. I thought you meant belt. That was really cool.

HUGE NEWS FROM USWA WRESTLING: Eddie Graham has decided to re-open Championship Wrestling from Florida but has snubbed his nose at the NWA and has decided to join the USWA. Graham was acting president of the USWA but that spot in now once again open and Ted Turner is in search of a new leader. Right now Eddie Graham and Fritz VonErich will be the head promoters but the USWA is still in limbo as to who will ultimately be in charge. Could it be Watts? or McMahon? or Fuller? We will have to wait and see. Turner loves the idea of having a new "territory" in his organization as he truly hopes to follow in the footsteps of the NWA. In a perfect world Turner has said his dream would be to have USWA Wrestling by a Three or Four Headed Monster with 3 or 4 territories under the USWA umbrella. Right now he is at two with TNT (Texas) and Florida. Never underestimate Turner and the power of WTBS. Speaking of TBS, Turner has guaranteed Graham and Florida wrestling a weekly spot on his superstation and guarantees that Gordon Solie will give Florida due dilligence of the weekly show, This Week in the USWA. It will be very interesting to see who fills out Graham's roster.

It seems like we now have an abundance of people who wish to join. Perfect Straightedge was going to move to Mid-Atlantic but Patrick seems back. I have been running shows all across the Southeast and am willing to give up any areas that I am in right now including Florida, Georgia and Texas if the extra new person would be interested in any of those. I would also be willing to share some talent as there is not a lot left in free agency to make a major roster. Let me know what I can do to help.

5/20/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 5:05-6:05 TAPED IN DALLAS, TEXAS BILL MERCER welcomes all the fans to TNT Wrestling from the World’s most Famous Wrestling Arena, the Sportatorium in downtown Dallas. Mercer gives a rundown of tonight’s show and really puts over the fact that there will be a number one contender’s bout for the USWA National Tag Team Titles between Kevin & Kerry VonErich and The Outlaws. The winner of this match will face the USWA National Champions after Don’t Tread on Me, the major USWA show in Dothan, Alabama. Bill also announces that may of the great stars of TNT have been included in the upcoming USWA extravaganza in Dothan, Alabama including Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody who have been named the #1 contenders for the USWA World Tag Title and will be wrestling the Sheepherders. He also announces that the TNT TITLE will be on the line tonight when Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and Curt Hennig meet tonight Mr. Saito and The Great Kabuki come out to the set and Mr. Saito, in broken English, complains that the VonErichs get another chance at a title shot. Bill Mercer says there is nothing he can do about it but if they have a complaint they should take it up with the boss, Fritz VonErich. Saito says that is exactly what they will do as they storm off set. Bill Mercer seems relieved that they left and he turns it over to ring announcer Marc Lawrence for our first match. Match: Sweet Brown Sugar & Brickhouse Brown Vs The Missing Link & Killer Khan Sweet Brown Sugar and Brickhouse Brown are quickly becoming one of the fan’s favorite teams here in TNT but tonight they have a tough one with the unpredictable team of Khan and Link. After a wild one that saw the heel team control much of the action, Sugar was able to escape being trapped in the wrong corner to make a diving tag to Brickhouse who went wild and cleared the ring all by himself. Brown was able to continue that momentum and after a Swinging Neckbreaker on Link, he tagged back in Sugar. Together they connected with a Double Missile Drop Kick and they escaped with the victory and continued their rise in TNT Wrestling. They joined Bill Mercer who really hyped up their last match and their recent success. Both Sugar and Brickhouse thanked Bill and said they would also love a shot at the Fabulous Ones and those National title belts. Mercer tells them to keep up the good work and that he is a sure title shot will be in their futures. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH TNT CHAMPION HOT STUFF EDDIE GILBERT with SHERI MARTELL Vs CURT HENNIG with BABY DOLL When they come out of break, Bill Mercer really puts over this upcoming match. He reviews how this feud became so hot including the cat fighting between Baby Doll and Sheri. The challenger comes out first to the approval of the crowd and they play it up. This all changes as Hot Stuff by Donna Summers begins to blare through the speakers as Eddie Gilbert and Sheri make their way to the ring. The match is a wild back and forth match that has a little of everything. Both men have some great technical skill and both like to mix it up and the match has the fans on the edge of their seats. Sheri Martel tried to trip Curt Hennig and he turns to Baby Doll and tells her to take care of Sheri. This gives us a wild brawl both inside and outside of the ring. Eddie Gilbert connected with a DDT and went for the cover but this time it was Baby Doll who put Hennig’s leg across the bottom rope to save him. Now it was Sheri who went nuts. She was screaming at ref Bronco Lubich who became distracted. Eddie Gilbert used this to his advantage and began to slug Hennig. Somehow, Hennig was able to answer the blows with huge haymakers of his own and Gilbert went down. Hennig followed up a massive belly to belly suplex with an Indian Death Lock. Gilbert tried to reach the ropes but was stuck in the middle. Sheri reached for Gilbert’s arms and tried to pull him to the ropes but WHAM! Baby Doll came up from behind and nailed Sheri with a huge right hand and she went down. Gilbert couldn’t take the pain anymore and tapped out. Bill Mercer went wild as he said, “We have a new TNT CHAMPION! Congratulations to Curt Hennig and his manager, The Perfect 10, Baby Doll. Hennig and Baby Doll head over to the desk where Hennig thanks Baby Doll once again for taking care of that witch Sheri Martel. He also promises to be a fighting champion. Baby Doll gives Hennig a big congratulatory kiss and then announces that her man is now to be known as Mr. Perfect and together they are the Perfect Team. She also asks the camera to close in on her and she talks real slow and direct and warns Sheri Martel not to get in her business again if she knows what is good for her. COMMERCIAL BREAK MR. SAITO & THE GREAT KABUKI VS THE NORTH CAROLINA CONNECTION (RICK MCGRAW & STEVE TRAVIS) Bill Mercer reminds us of how unhappy Saito and Kabuki were earlier this evening when they were not announced as one of the two teams in the #1 Contenders Match and he says that he can’t blame them. They have been on fire as of late. Saito and Kabuki take out their anger on the North Carolina buddies and beat them from pillar to post. The end could have come at any time but they just continued to take it out these two young kids until neither one of them could get up. The end came after about the 5th thrust kick to the head of Steve Travis. When the match was over Fritz came out and took the microphone and warned Saito and Kabuki that they better be careful or they will be fined or suspended for their actions. This really set off the winners who were still in the ring but the quickly headed over to the interview desk where they really warned Fritz to watch what he says or that they will have no choice but to get even. Fritz tells them to get out of here right now due to the fact that he doesn’t take well to threats. COMMERCIAL BREAK DR. D DAVID SCHULTS VS MIKE VON ERICH This match upsets the fans as Dr. D is all over Mike VonErich. In the end, Schultz follows up his running bulldog with a Piledriver. After the rather easy 3 count, Schultz hits Mike VonErich with another Piledriver. Bill Mercer is yelling how disgusting the actions of Dr. D are as Schultz continues to punish the young VonErich. All of a sudden Bam Bam Bigelow hit the ring and the crowd goes wild. Schultz doesn’t back down and starts throwing big right hands that are connecting with Bigelow’s upper body. Bill Mercer is heard saying, “Strong right hand by Schultz but Bigelow just shrugs it off, not even shrugs it off. He acts as if it Schultz’s punches were small gnats that have intruded his space.” All of a sudden Bigelow returns fire with fire and knocks Dr. D down with one punch. Schultz is struggling to get to his feet when Bigelow scoops him up and slams him over the top rope. Again, the crowd is awed by Bigelow who is daring Schultz to get back in the ring but Schultz decides discretion is the better part of valor and slowly heads back to the locker room. Bigelow helps Mike VonErich up and the two embrace as the crowd shows its gratitude to Bigelow for helping Mike. Bigelow and VonErich head over to Bill Mercer and VonErich thanks Bam Bam while Bigelow just goes off on Dr. D and says that if he ever gets another shot at Schultz, he is in for a World of Hurt! COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH THE OUTLAWS (RON BASS & BLACK BART) VS KERRY & KEVIN VON ERICH #1 CONTENDERS MATCH FOR THE WORLD TAG TITLES Kerry and Kevin Von Erich enter the ring to “Tom Sawyer” by Rush blaring from the speakers as Bill Mercer hypes it up a lot. Just the opposite happens when Ron Bass and Black Bart come out dressed in all black cowboy attire. As for the match it is a brawl from the opening bell. Both teams have their advantages but in the end Kerry nailed Black Bart with a tornado punch and he tagged in his brother who connected with a Top Rope Von Erich Splash. Kerry made sure Bass couldn’t make the save and ref Rick Hazzard made the three count. All of a sudden the third Outlaw, Bobby Jaggers has hit the scene and has a whip. CRACK! CRACK! Bill Mercer is heard saying, “Down goes Kerry. Down goes Kevin.” Jaggers and the rest of the Outlaws are now beating on the brothers as Bill Mercer continues his call. “Holy Cow, Look at the Outlaws go. They are taking the VonErichs to Woodshed City.” Mercer reminds us that the VonErichs are the new #1 contenders and will meet The Sheepherders in Dublin, Texas this week. That is if they are able to.” For the first time in a long time, a wrestling show in Texas ends in the middle of a beat down of the VonErich boys. Bill Mercer puts this brawl over in a big way and the show comes to a close with Mercer reminding everyone to join us next time. So long from the Sportatorium. The screen fades to black,

USWA WRESTLING: 5/19/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 6:05-8:05 TAPED IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA “Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling here on WTBS. I am Gordon Solie and we have a jam packed show tonight. Gordon Solie gives a quick rundown of tonight’s show before bringing us to the ring for our first match. MATCH: MR. WRESTLING II VS MOONDOG CUJO The fans go wild as Mr. Wrestling II hits the ring. Gordon Solie really amps up the return of II to Atlanta and says that maybe things can start to even out around here as II can help Tommy Rich and Dusty Rhodes with all their enemies. As for the match, it is a great opening bout with both men having their time with the momentum. II blocked a huge chop by Cujo and connected with a big right hand of his own. He then used two big body slams to set up the Moondog for the Million $$ Knee Lift. Cujo is basically out on his feet as ref Scrappy McGowna makes the three count. Mr. Wrestling II heads over to the interview desk where Gordon welcomes him back to Atlanta and the USWA. II begins by thanking Solie and the fans but then gets down to business. “I was ready to retire. I am getting up there in age. My knee is a bit cranky. I am not what I used to be, that’s for sure but then I sat down at home and started to watch USWA Wrestling and I knew I needed to come back. I couldn’t watch my buddies like Dusty Rhodes get attacked by Kevin Sullivan and his Minions. I couldn’t watch that low down snake in the grass Jerry Lawler put a hit out on my old pal Tommy Rich. I watched Kendo Nagasaki attack Wildfire. I watched Carlos Colon attack Wildfire. I knew that awful Lawler wouldn’t stop until Tommy was to hurt to defend his title. I knew I had to get here real fast before things got out of hand. So Dusty Rhodes and Tommy Rich, I am here for you. Anything you two need, just ask.” The crowd goes wild as Dusty Rhodes and Wildfire Rich come out to the desk. The three embrace and Rhodes and Wildfire put over how much the return of Mr. Wrestling II means to them. Gordon Solie is heard saying, “Amen to that. We will be right back after these messages.” ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Gordon Solie announces that Dusty and Wrestling II have gone back to the locker room but the USWA World Champ, Tommy Rich is already in the ring for our next bout. MATCH: TOMMY RICH VS KILLER KHAN (NON-TITLE) As you would expect, this one is wild from the beginning. Rich is having a difficult time dealing with Khan’s size and power. He has been injured by Khan’s overhand chops and is really struggling. Khan whips Rich off the ropes and connects with a Big Boot to the temple of Rich. Khan goes for the move a second time but this time Wildfire leaps and connects with a Flying Cross Body Block. Rich quickly goes for the cover but by the time ref Bill Lampier gets to two we hear Gordon Solie…. “Oh No, here we go again. Look I can’t believe my eyes. It is Crusher Blackwell and One Man Gang from the AWA and they hit the ring. It is now Rich vs about 1200 pounds of Mass. As Gang and Blackwell hit Rich with everything but the kitchen sink, Khan begins to spin around and then spits the green mist into the eyes of Wildfire. He is blinded and rolling around in obvious agony. One Man Gang hits the ropes and leaps onto Rich with a Giant Splash. Khan drags Rich over by the ropes where Blackwell has climbed to the top rope. Oh my God no. Blackwell leaps off the top rope and crashed down with must be 450 pounds of man right onto the ribs of our Champion. Finally the wrestlers, including Dusty Rhodes, Mr. Wrestling II, Tony Atlas and Hacksaw Reed hit the ring. Khan, Blackwell and One Man Gang beat a hasty retreat but it appears the damage is already done. Wildfire is not moving. Gordon Solie in a low monotone voice fears for the worst as the doctors are putting Rich onto a stretcher. Solie announces that he is really tiring of these tactics and hopes to have word on Tommy Rich’s condition when we return from break. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ As we come out of break, Dusty Rhodes and Mr. Wrestling II are with Gordon. Solie first announces that it is too early to tell but it does appear that Tommy Rich has suffered broken ribs and perhaps a collapsed lung. Next, Gordon Solie informs us that for the third week in a row, Eddie Graham has just been handed a video tape by an unidentified delivery man and that it must be aired right away. Solie says “I would bet anything I had that this is another one of those obnoxious tapes from the Maniac in Memphis, Jerry Lawler. As the tape begins, we again see Jerry Lawler. “Greeting again Rednecks! This is your King in Memphis, Tennessee. I was just wondering how Tommy Rich enjoyed the mega beating from The Towers of Pain, Crusher Jerry Blackwell and One Man Gang. I mean those are two nasty dudes and I am glad they didn’t jump on me. I think you are finding out my power in this industry and that my wealth can buy a lot of people. Remember when the CWA had a great working relationship with the AWA. Well I still do and MONEY BUYS A LOT. In this case it was a lot of weight. Oh I can’t wait to watch the Stupidstation this week. I can just hear those bones cracking from here. Rich and the rest of you stupid hicks better be ready for anything. I mean our match in the cow pasture in Dothan, Alabama is still 8 days a week. I can buy a lot of injuries in 8 days. Remember what I said last week. Whatever I want, whenever I want, I can make it happen. Don’t worry Rich. I heard they just made our title match a handicap match. It will now be the King vs The Handicaped Tommy Rich. HA HA HA. As the tape comes to an end, Gordon Solie announces that Lawler is just sick. How could anyone be so spiteful. So evil. So disgusting. Rhodes and Wrestling II convey the same ideas and wish they could get their hands on Jerry Lawler. Rhodes also has a warning for the Sheepherders. He knows that it was to be The American Dream and Wildfire getting a rematch tomorrow night in the Muncipal Auditorium in Columbus, Georgia for the World Tag Titles but that he has already asked his buddy here, Mr. Wrestling II to be his partner. II is really excited about the chance to become World Champions. All of a sudden, The Sheepherders rush out to the desk and start yelling that they have a contract to face Rhodes and Rich and if Tommy Rich can’t wrestle then our rematch will have to be The Sheepherders vs the American Dream. They say they have a contract that stipulates no replacements. Eddie Graham comes out to the desk and is welcomed by Solie. He explains to the Sheepherders that they did not read the entire contract and it stipulates that in case of an injury, the challengers can replace either partner. He goes on to announce that this is in EVERY USWA CONTRACT in order that we best serve our wonderful fans. The Shephersders walk off irate and Rhodes and II shake hands. Solie really puts over this new tag match tomorrow night and the fans are loving it. Gordon Solie thanks everyone and tells Dusty to go ready for his match later tonight against one of Kevin Sullivan’s Minions, Hercules Hernandez. Solie then returns us to the ring for the third match of the night. MATCH: ERNIE LADD VS CPL. KIRCHNER As do most matches that feature Ernie Ladd, this one as the fans full of emotion. First, CPL Kirchner gets them off their feet by carrying in the American Flag and asking the audience to join him in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The Patriotism has people feeling good until Ladd comes in and actually threatens to stomp on the flag. Kirchner raises the flag up and the audience cheers. Ladd turns his back on the flag and raises a defiant black fist in the air. Kirchner played to the crowd a moment to long as Ladd attacked him when his back was turned. The match is all Ladd and it comes to a merciful end after a Big Boot. Ladd goes right over to the interview desk and starts taking real slow and loud in his deepest nastiest voice about how Hacksaw Reed’s days in the USWA are numbered. He says he knows that the loser of their match in Dothan must leave the USAW for only 30 days but that he is going to hurt Reed so bad in the steel cage that Reed will be forced to quit wrestling FOREVER.! ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Piper’s Pit with Special Guests: HACKSAW BUTCH REED Roddy Piper makes his way out to the set and sits in one of the two chairs that are there. The Sheepherders follow Piper out and are standing behind him with their arms folded. Piper has his USWA NATIONAL TITLE around and he is as cocky as ever. Piper begins by “welcoming” Hacksaw Butch Reed. As Reed comes out Piper says “My you are a big boy aint ya.” This bothers Hacksaw who comes right back at Piper and says that “you better watch who you are calling boy. Piper continues, “Big and a bit testy. I actually understand that. You are feeling a bit insecure as of late. I mean look at you. Big, Strong athletic and you wonder why you can’t beat Ernie Ladd. You wonder why you never get any title shots. Reed: Shut up Piper. Everyone here knows that I can not only beat Ernie Ladd but if you weren’t such a coward, I would be the National Champ. Why don’t you put that belt on the line. I mean I am out there each and every night busting my butt for this company and I never see you. I mean you sit here and let the Sheepherders protect you. You talk for a few minutes a week and then pretend to be a champion. Piper: “Pretend to be a champion. Ha! Is it my fault that this stupid company can’t produce anyone worth my time in the ring.” Reed now stands up and pokes Piper in the chest and says, “I guarantee you that I would be worth your time. I also guarantee you that I would woop your skirt wearing behind and take you to the woodshed like your mama should have down to you when you was a spoiled brat of a kid. The Sheepherders start to inch in and Reed basically dares the three of them to make a move. The crowd begins to cheer as Eddie Graham walks on the set. Piper wonders why he is here but insinuates that Reed is lucky he did. Eddie Graham, to the delight of the crowd, tells Piper to Shut Up. He goes on to say that he is sick and tired of Piper using this forum to insult and then physically attack other wrestlers. He runs down the list from Bill Dundee to his son Mike to Rick McGraw. Piper tells him to “hold on just a minute. I get it now. You are out here interfering in my show because you are mad that I had the guts to slap the taste out of that boy of yours a few weeks ago. Eddie Graham continues to say that is not the reason why he is here tonight. He continues to say that he is here because he agrees with Hacksaw Reed and that Piper has been hiding behind the Sheepherders and the rules of the USWA for long enough. It is time to become a fighting champion. Piper does some quick back-peddling and goes on to say that he already has a tough match with Rick McGraw this week. Graham interrupts by saying “that match has just been changed. You will now wrestle Hacksaw Butch Reed this week in the Columbus Municipal Auditorium and the title will be on the line. He goes on to say that he is sick and tired of Piper using illegal objects, intimidating referees and getting help from outsiders like the Sheepherders so he has hired a special referee for this match. Piper, still arrogant as ever, asks who this referee would be. Graham goes on to say that instead of telling you, I would rather show you. All of a sudden the crowd goes wild as Tony Atlas walks out in a referee shirt with the sleeves torn off. Piper starts yelling furiously as Atlas and Reed shake hands with a big smile on their faces. Graham ends the segment by saying just so Mr. Piper can see what type of referee Tony will make, he is going to ref the next match which is coming up right after this segment. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: Crusher Ottman vs The Missing Link with Tony Atlas as the Guest Refere The match is pretty wild from the beginning to the end. Both men have their chance with the momentum but one thing that is certain is that Tony Atlas is in complete control. Anytime either one of the wrestlers tried to bend the rules, Atlas got right in the middle of it and kept them on the straight and narrow. He showed no fear in pushing the maniac Link back from the turnbuckle when he threatened an illegal break. He also grabbed the arm of Ottman and prevented the big boy from throwing a closed fist. The end of the match came after Ottman connected with a running splash and Atlas made the three count. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: Buzz & Brett Sawyer vs The Nightmares (Ted Allen and Steve Travis under masks) The Sawyers continue to get better and better as a tag team and this match was rather one sided with the end coming with a Power Slam by Buzz Sawyer on Steve Travis The Sawyers go over to Gordon Solie and rant about how they want the House of Humperdink and that demon Kevin Sullivan. Buzz says that he has heard Kevin Sullivan is called the task master but after what he just saw in the back, Dusty Rhodes is the true Task Master and that the end is near for Sir Oliver Humperdink and Sullivan and his Army of Minions. Kevin Sullivan comes out to the desk as the crowd boos loudly. Solie begs for everybody to remain calm but Sullivan ignores him. “Buzz Sawyer. We all know you are the Mad Dog but if you believe that fat slob Dusty Rhodes will evar get the best of me, you are sadly mistaken. Rememba I am protected by the infinite layers of my Minions. I have traveled the world to find the most loyal and most dangerous men in the world. One day I used to have high hopes for you. I mean you are the Mad Dog and who is more loyal than a dog. How about you just tell me what information you have in that pea brain of your and I might just throw you a doggy biscuit. Buzz Sawyer just laughs and laughs and you can just tell he is not right in his head as Gordon Solie tells the fans to stay put as the Main event is up next and it will feature Dusty Rhodes and Mike Graham vs Abdullah The Butcher and The Botswana Man-Eater ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: DUSTY RHODES & MIKE GRAHAM VS ADBULLAH THE BUTCHER & THE BOTSWANA MAN EATER with SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK Sir Oliver Humperdink and Kevin Sullivan are at the interview desk and they are both verbally attacking Buzz Sawyer and what he just said. He reminds Gordon Solie that they have a Master Plan and that they are in charge of USWA Wrestling. Solie does he best to remain impartial but you can tell he is sick to his stomach that this two are at the desk. He does his best to put over this feud and this match in a way that makes him sound impartial. As you would expect the match is wild from the beginning. The House is brutal in everything they do but Graham and Rhodes are up to the challenge. The action spills out onto the floor and once again Sullivan seems to go into some sort of trance as he begins to rant “The sins of the father are the sins of the son.” As normal of late, Humperdink calls for reinforcements and out rushes Hercules Hernandez and Purple Haze but before they can reach the ring the Sawyers and Crusher Ottman hit the arena floor. It is now 5-5 and the brawl is all over the studio. Gordon Solie announces that this must have been what the Sawyers were talking about. Dusty really seems to have been ready for this attack. The Sawyers are battling Hernandez and Purple Haze. Crusher Ottman and Abdullah are beating each other and Mike Graham is taking it to Hercules Hernandez. DUSTY HAS FINALLY GOTTEN HIS HANDS ON KEVIN SULLIVAN. After another moment of a Pier 6 Brawl, Gordon Solie is heard saying, “Waitaminute. Could it be? Yes it is. It is BLACKJACK MULLIGAN and he is coming out with a steel chain. He heads right for Sullivan as does Mike Graham and Dusty Rhodes. They place the chain around Sullivan’s neck. Dusty and Mulligan begin to choke the life out of Sullivan and then they actually toss the other end over the top rope and then begin to lift Sullivan off the ground. They are actually hanging him. Officials and wrestlers pour out of the back and try and stop this wild scene as Gordon Solie announces that “Sometimes a man gets pushed too far and this seems to be one of those times. It is obvious that Dusty has lost it but who can blame. Sorry but we are out of time for this week. “So long from Atlanta.”

WWA results 1984
Good show with great lead-ins to the next show. Like the Marathon Match idea Interested to see a potential Garea-Larry Z feud. I always hated Zbyszko but I guess that is why he was great. Interested to see who Flair will face.

UNITED STATES WRESTLING ASSOCIATION
THIS WEEK IN USWA WRESTLING: HOSTED BY GORDON SOLIE 5/19/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 9:05 AM- 10:05 AM SPONSERED BY PRO WRESTLING ILLUSTRATED “Hello again everybody. Welcome to This Week in USWA Wrestling. I am Gordon Solie joined this week by Bill Apter and together we will catch you up to date on all the comings and goings here in the USWA. The show begins with Solie and Apter talking about how hot this feud between Hacksaw Reed and Ernie Ladd is getting. They go over how USWA President Eddie Graham has decided that the two will meet in a steel cage and the loser will have to leave the USWA for 30 days in an attempt to cool off this feud. Ernie Ladd then comes out and joins Solie and Apter and puts over his hatred for Reed. “I am sick and tired of tat drunken Reed putting his nose in my business. He is full of whiskey and we all know it and there is no way he is going to beat me. They all now I am the biggest and baddest athlete here in the USWA and I am going to send that drunk back to Africa for a 30 day vacation. There aint no doubt about it. What do you think of that Solie . Solie says “Well I think we can terminate this interview. Fair enough. Solie and Apter then begin to discuss the USWA World Tag Team situation and really put over what a week it was for Wildfire Rich and Dusty Rhodes. They head right to the video tape from the Richmond County Coliseum in Augusta, Georgia and show the end of the match between the champs and the team of Kendo Nagasaki and Carlos Colon. The tape shows that the challengers had no interest in winning the titles but in hurting the champs, especially Rich. Ref Scrappy McGowan stopped the match after Nagasaki went to the Kendo Stick and Colon went to the steel pipe. In the end Rich and Rhodes were left a bloody mess and Rich was unable to even walk. He was carried out on a stretcher as Nagasaki and Colon celebrated by making the money sign with their fingers. Solie and Apter say this must be in reference to the bounty put on the head of Tommy Rich by the NWA Southern Champion Jerry Lawler. They go on to say that because of their actions, Carlos Colon and Kendo Nagasaki have been suspended indefinatly form the USWA. Solie and Apter then turn to another video tape from 2 days later in the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama. This is another title defense between the champs and the #1 challengers The Sheepherders. As the tape begins, it is evident the champs are still suffering from the beating two days earlier from Colon and Nagasaki. In fact they are so slow that the Sheepherders are in control of much of the match. The end came when Bill Lampier was distracted by Luke Williams which allowed Butch Miller to clock Wildfire with the flag pole in the head. Lampier turned around just in time to make the 3 count. Solie and Apter put over the fact that we now have new World Tag Team Champions and say that the Sheepherders will be double tough to defeat. Solie then calls out Tommy Rich who is carrying only the World Title. Rich thanks Solie and Apter for having him on the show today but you can tell he is a little depressed. He can’t believe that he has let that stinking King Jerry Lawler get the best of him and he doesn’t want to make any excuses but he feels that if it wasn’t for Colon and Kagasaki, he and Rhodes would still be the champs. He thanks Eddie Graham for suspending them and he vows that Dusty and he will get the titles back. Gordon goes on to say that he must now focus and beating Lawler in Dothan on May 27th and again he wants to show Wildfire a short tape from Memphis and CWA Wrestling on Ch. 5 with Lance Russell and Jerry Lawler. Lance: "now speaking of World Champions, apparently your comments last week raised the ire of the USWA World Champion, Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich…he made some comments about you on the USWA show this week, let's take a look at a video.." (Lawler interupts) King: "No Lance, we're not going to listen to any crap from Tommy Rich…the so-called USWA Champion…..notice I didn't say WORLD champion…because he's not! You know what USWA stands for Lance?" Lance: "United States Wrestling Association?" King: (laughs) "No, it stands for Ugly Stupid Worthless A-holes…" Lance: "Ok, now take it easy Jerry." King: "Sorry Lance, but every time someone even mentions that jerk Tommy Rich it gets my blood boiling! I can't stand that guy and I can't stand anybody associated with the USWA…." Again Rich is on fire and furious about Lawler’s comments. Rich goes on to say that he can put down me all he wants but he has no right to put down this belt, this organization and these great fans. Rich goes on to wonder why if Lawler doesn’t recognize this Championship, he is trying so hard to win it. Rich goes on to say that he might not be able to wait until May 27th in Dothan and that he might have to make a little trip up there to Memphis to start “whooping on the Queen.” He goes on to say that “Austin Idol and I have not always been on the same side but that anyone who is an enemy of the Lawler is a friend of his.” Rich continues by saying I am sorry about being so angry but when a wrestle whose greatest claim to fame is beating an midget actor like Andy Kauffman puts me down, it is time to take a stand.” Solie ends the segment with “Katie Bar the door. This one is going to be wild.” He then says that when the get back they will show more highlights from that great card from the Boutwell Auditorim. ----------------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK ------------------------------ Apter and Solie review and show some highlights from this week’s major card from the Boutwell Auditorium. · The Botswana Man-Eater with Sir Oliver Humperdink defeated King Cobra · Ernie Ladd defeated Steve Travis and Ricky Gibson in a Handicap Match with the Big Boot. · Kevin Sullivan & The Purple Haze defeated Mike Graham and PVT. Kernodle when Haze caught Kernodle in the Sleeper. This allowed them to attack Graham 2-1 after the match was over and they beat him until help came from the back. · Hacksaw Butch Reed defeated Moondog Cujo with a Gorilla Press Slam · USWA NATIONAL NON-TITLE MATCH: Roddy Piper defeated Rick Quick Draw McGraw after using a foreign object. · USWA NATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The Fabulous Ones defeated The Missing Link & Killer Khan when Keirn caught Link in a reverse DDT. · The House of Humperdink (Abdullah the Butcher and Hercules Hernandez) defeated The Sawyers while the ref was down and Kevin Sullivan entered the ring and nailed Buzz with a spike to the forehead and busted him wide open. As they go to break, Solie and Apter saw they have a special guest up next and that they have footage from this week’s TNT card from the Civic Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. ----------------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK ------------------------------ Gordon Solie and Bill Apter are very excited about their next guest. They announce the newest member of the USWA and out walks Mr. Wrestling II. Gordon Solie says this is like welcoming an old friend home and then he goes in to the rumors that were coming out of Mid–South Wrestling that II was going to retire. Mr. Wrestling II says that retirement is on his mind and that he is battling some injuries but he could not sit at home and watch old buddies like Dusty Rhodes and Tommy Rich deal with such scumas Kevin Sullivan and Jerry Lawler. He says that he is going to give this everything he has left and he is ready to go to war in the USWA. Gordon Solie says that he knows II will give it everything he has and again, that it is great to have him back. Solie and Apter now turn their attention to TNT wrestling and review some of the great feuds that are going on including The Outlaws vs The VonErichs and Curt Hennig and Baby Doll against Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and his manager Sheri Martel. Apter says “speaking of the VonErichs, Kerry and Kevin have a huge match in the CWA against Jack and Jerry Brisco for the NWA Southern Tag Title. Apter and Solie now review and show some highlights from this week’s major card from Tulsa, Oklahoma. · Mike VonErich defeated Wendell Cooley with the Iron Claw · Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Bobby Jaggers after connecting with a Top Rope Moonsault. The fans were again awed by his agility. Bigelow was attacked by the rest of the Outlaws after the match. · Sweet Brown Sugar & Brickhouse Brown defeated Steve Simpson and Ted Allen after a double dropkick on Allen. · Baby Doll defeated Sheri Martel after connecting with what she later called The Perfect 10 Slam. This was more of a catfight then a wrestling match as these two just tried to beat on each other. Martel was obviously more skilled but the size and power of Baby Doll wore her down. This victory gave Curt Hennig a title shot on the next TNT television show. · USWA NATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The Fabulous Ones defeated Ron Bass and Black Bart when the Outlaws were disqualified for using the cow bell to bust open Steve Keirn. · Kevin Von Erich and Curt Hennig defeated Mr. Saito, Great Kabuki when Kevin VonErich connected with a Top Rope VonErich Splash. · TNT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert with Sherri Martel defeated challenger Bruiser Brody when Sheri Martel tripped Bordy which allowed Gilbert to connect with a DDT. · MAIN EVENT: USWA WORLD TITLE MATCH Tommy “Wildfire” Rich and Kerry VonErich wrestled to a 30 minute draw. Rich almost gained the victory after he locked in the sleeper but Kerry was able to break the hold. VonErich did actually lock in the Iron Claw and almost became the new champion but Rich reached the ropes. Both wrestlers shook hands after the bout and the fans were really appreciative of the sportsmanship. Gordon Solie and Bill Apter really put over how great this show was and that the match between Tommy Rich and Kerry VonErich was a classic. Solie pushes how exciting the USWA and TNT is and then they start to push the next major show which is May 26th in Dothan, Alabama at the Farm Center Solie reminds everyone to join them on TBS tonight at 6:05 for the next USWA show as the credits roll and the screen turns to black.

CWA Championship Wrestling (Memphis)
Love the report from the Mid-South Coliseum. Nice to see the VonErichs come up and get a win. You seem to have a great handle on Memphis Wrestling. I never saw it when I was young and it is a pleasure to read your promotion. Just a question.... Was Dutch Mantell called Dirty Dutch even when he was a babyface? And did Lawler, Dundee, Idol, Rich, Valiant and Mantell just keeping switching form heel to face or were any of them consistently one or the other?

Stampede Wrestling Results
Loved the show. You have some really interesting angles going on. Keith Hart vs Stu Hart seems titanic. Brett Hart vs Jake The Snake is as big as we have in the game. Love the High Flyers. Using young talent is always tricky but when one of them has the last name Hart in Stampede Wrestling, their is no limit I also have trouble with the images. I joined imgur.com and that has helped. I first save an image to my own file and then upload it to imgur. I then copy the image address into the box above that looks like the tree. Hope that helps. My computer knowledge is almost zero.

UNITED STATES WRESTLING ASSOCIATION
5/20/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 5:05-6:05 TAPED IN DALLAS, TEXAS BILL MERCER welcomes all the fans to TNT Wrestling from the World’s most Famous Wrestling Arena, the Sportatorium in downtown Dallas. Mercer gives a rundown of tonight’s show and really puts over the fact that there will be a #1 contender’s match between Kerry VonErich and Dr. D David Schultz for the USWA World Title and that the winner will face World Champion Tommy Rich in the Tulsa Civic Center this week. The three VonErich brother s come out to the set and Mercer really puts over how big their return has been for everybody in TNT Wrestling. All the VonErich’s thank Bill and say it is wonderful to be back and how great it is to be back together again as a family. All of a sudden the crowd starts to Boo as Ron Bass and the rest of the Outlaws, Bobby Jaggers ad Black Bart, come to the set where Bass is all fired up. Bass starts screaming about the favoritism Kerry is getting. He announces that he deserves to be in the #1 contender’s match and that it is ridiculous that just because Papa Frito runs this company that his son gets the shot. Kerry smiles and responds by saying that he doesn’t want any favoritism but he does deserve the match tonight. The Outlaws are furious and just stomp off muttering under their breath. Bill tells Kerry to go and get ready for his match and sends Kevin and Kerry and wises them luck because they are in for a real tough match with The Missing Link and Killer Khan Bill Mercer now turns it over to newly hired ring announcer Marc Lawrence for the first match. Match: Kevin & Mike VonErich Vs The Missing Link & Killer Khan Now this match is wild from the beginning. The unorthodox Khan and Link are giving the VonErichs everything they can handle. Khan actually locked in the Cobra Clutch on Mike but Kevin made the save. This lead to a few minutes where all 4 men were in the ring. Kevin nailed Link with a huge flying forearm and then headed to the top rope where he connected with a huge VonErich leap and to the delight on the fans, gained the 3 count for the victory in 8:03. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH TNT CHAMPION HOT STUFF EDDIE GILBERT with SHERI MARTELL Vs STEVE SIMPSON When they come out of break, Bill Mercer really puts over how dangerous the team of Gilbert and Martell are and that their opponents better have eyes in the back of their heads as you never know when Sheri will get involved. As for the match, Steve Simpson gave a good showing but once Sheri distracted ref Bronco Lubich and Gilbert raked the eyes of his opponent, the champ was on his way. The match ended with a DDT by the champ at only 4:32. Gilbert and Sheri head over to Bill Mercer and also start screaming about the favoritism given to the Von Erich boys and that there is no way Kerry deserves that shot tonight. Bill tells him he should not worry about Kerry but focus on Curt Hennig and Baby Doll. This time it is Sheri who goes wild and starts screaming about how Hennig and the big dumb bimbo don’t deserve to be in the same room as Hot Stuff and herself. Fritz now comes out to the roar of the crowd and Eddie Gilbert starts complaining how corrupt Fritz is and that he is sick and tired of him cheating for his sons. Fritz tells Eddie to watch his mouth and that it is he who is sick and tired of both Gilbert and Sheri running their mouths around here. Sheri starts yelling at him that if he is sick and tired of her, then he should do something about it and that she would slap the taste right out of his old sticking mouth. Fritz goes on to say that he was raised correctly by his Mama and that he would never hit a women but he knows someone who would. He goes on to say that she is going to face Baby Doll inside the ring this week at the Tulsa Civic Center and if Baby Doll wins, Curt Hennig will get a title shot right here next week on TV. COMMERCIAL BREAK Baby Doll and Curt Hennig are at the interview desk as they are both really excited. Baby Doll says there are certain things you don’t ask a women and one is her weight. Well I am going to tell each and every one of you here that I am 190 pounds and I am going to use each and every one of them to beat Sherri Martel all over the Tulsa Civic Center. Not only will I be enjoying this but my main, Mr. Perfect will get a title shot against that weak little cry baby Eddie Gilbert. OHHHHH, this is going to be a Perfect Week for the Perfect 10. Curt Hennig says I would just like to thank Baby Doll in advance for the beating she is going to give that witch Sheri Martel. I am also going to tell Eddie Gilbert to shine up that belt for me! Bill Mercer thanks them for coming out and as they walk away he turns it over to Marc Lawrence and our next match. MATCH THE OUTLAWS (RON BASS, BLACK BART & BOBBY JAGGERS) VS BRICKHOUSE BROWN, SWEET BROWN SUGAR AND KING COBRA Bill Mercer reminds us of the depth of the tag team division here in TNT and puts over the upcoming 6 man tag match in a big way. In the end, ref Rick Hazzard lost control as didn’t see Black Bart clock King Cobra with the cow bell so when Bart covered him, Hazzard made the 3 count. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH: THE GREAT KABUKI & MR. SAITO VS STAN HANSEN & BRUISER BRODY Bill Mercer is really hyped up for this match as there are 4 wild and dangerous men in the ring. At one point, Saito and Kabuki had Stan Hansen trapped in their corner for so long that Bruiser Brody rushed in. Ref David Manning forced him back to his corner and out of the ring but this gave Kabuki a chance to spit the green mist into the eyes of Hansen. He was temporarily blinded and walked right into a thrust kick to the temple by Kabuki and Saito and Kabuki gained the three count. This didn’t stop the brawl as Brody went wild and cleared the ring of bodies all by himself. Bill Mercer was heard saying, “Down goes Saito. Down goes Kabuki. Bruiser Brody has tossed them both to the arena floor and has followed them out. Brody’s got a chair. Look Out! He nails Saito. He nails Kabuki. Holy Cow, Brody has taken Saito and Kabuki to Woodshed City here at the Sportatorium. As we head to break to try and restore order, Mercer warns us that we probably have not seen the last of this wild feud. COMMERCIAL BREAK #1 CONTENDERS MATCH DR. D DAVID SCHULTZ VS KERRY VON ERICH Kerry Von Erich enters the ring with “Tom Sawyer” by Rush blaring from the speakers as Bill Mercer hypes it up a lot. Just the opposite happens when Dr. D David Schultz enters the ring. The fans are booing him as loud as they can but him seems to be enjoying it and gives it right back to them. As for the match it is a great back and forth bout for about eight minutes with Kerry using his skill and Dr. D breaking every rule in the book. Kerry is able to duck under a huge clothesline from Dr. D and comes off the ropes with one of his own. Schultz staggers to his feet and is nailed with a Tornado Punch. Kerry raises the right hand in the sign of the Iron law and the fans go wild. For the second week in a row Bill Mercer is heard announcing that the Outlaws are on their way to the ring. Bass, Jaggers and Black Bart are heading to the ring to get Kerry VonErich when all of a sudden they are intercepted by Kevin VonErich, Mike VonErich and Bam Bam Bigelow. These six brawl all over the arena floor as Kerry VonErich locks in the Iron Claw. Schultz is doing everything he can to break free but after a minute or so he taps out. Bronco Lubich quickly raises the hand of Kerry as other referees and wrestlers hit the arena floor to stop the war that is going on. Bill Mercer puts this brawl over in a big way and the show comes to a close with Mercer reminding everyone to join us next time and just maybe Kerry VonErich will be the new World Champion. So long from the Sportatorium. The screen fades to black,

Perfect show! Loved every segment. Each wrestler is in the right place so quickly in this promotion. The Fabs vs The Briscos: Awesome Lawler/Rich/Idol/Humongous/Bounty on Lawler: Perfect! Lawler put a bounty on Rich in USWA and their is a bounty on Lawler in CWA. VonErichs vs Briscos/Blassie: love this idea of sharing these guys. It actually makes me more interested to read yours then write mine. Dundee/HTM: Very cool feud where each tries to out gimmick the other. Elvis vs the Midget

USWA WRESTLING: 5/12/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 6:05-8:05 TAPED IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA “Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling here on WTBS. I am Gordon Solie and we have a jam packed show tonight. Gordon Solie gives a quick rundown of tonight’s show before bringing us to the ring for our first match. MATCH: USWA WORLD CHAMPION TOMMY RICH VS THE NIGHTMARE (NON-TITLE) The fans go wild as Tommy Rich hits the ring. He might have given them a little too much attention because The Nightmare attacks before the bells sounds and took Wildfire by complete surprise. Solie makes the point that the masked Nightmare is more aggressive and nasty than normal. He also questions he training of late as he says “he appears a little on the larger side.” The Nightmare had remained in control for the first few minutes and then he tossed Rich through the middle rope. Rich landed hard and The Nightmare followed him right out. He quickly tossed him into the ring post. He ignores the words of ref Scrappy McGowan to get back in the ring and picks Rich up by the hair and starts to bite his forehead. Rich is flailing in agony. The Nightmare once again holds the hair and hits Wildfire with 3 leaping head butts. Rich appears out on his feet as McGowan calls for the bell and declares the match a double count out. To Solie’s surprise, the Nightmare begins to untie his mask and pulls it off. Solie is heard saying, “I don’t believe that is Nightmare #1. It looks like….yes…. it is world famous Carlos Colon.” Colon just continues on the rampage and now hits Rich over the back with a steel pipe. The fans are stunned as Dusty Rhodes and Tony Atlas hit the scene and chase Colon away. Rich is in a bad way as we go to break. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Gordon Solie announces that for the second week in a row, Eddie Graham has just been handed a video tape by an unidentified delivery man and that it must be aired right away. Solie says he is not sure what is on the tape but he has an idea. As the tape begins, we again see Jerry Lawler. “Greeting again Rednecks! This is your King in Memphis, Tennessee. I was just wondering how Tommy Rich enjoyed the beating from the greatest wrestler in Puerto Rico, Carlos Colon. I think you are finding out my power in this industry and that my wealth can buy a lot of people. I enjoyed paying Kendo Nagasaki last week and enjoyed paying Carlos Colon even more this week. Oh, don’t forget. I also had to pay the real Nightmare a fee for letting us borrow his mask. Wow, this is really fun and a great use of my money from all my restaurants the Rich complained about last week. Rich and the rest of you stupid hicks better be ready for anything. Whatever I want, whenever I want, I can make it happen. Again, I stay at home and watch Rich get beat on the Stupidstation each and every week. Don’t worry Rich. You will get your chance at revenge in Dothan, Alabama at the end of the month. That is if there is anything left of you by then. As the tape comes to an end, Gordon Solie is joined by Eddie Graham who announces that Rich is a little banged up but is okay. He goes on to announce that against his better judgement, he has given into Rich’s request for a match this week at the Richmond County Coliseum in Augusta, Georgia for the World Tag Team Titles between himself and Rhodes against Kendo Nagasaki and Carlos Colon. Solie goes on to say that Wildfire and Rhodes are in for a tough week as they are also facing the #1 contenders, the Sheepherders in the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama. Graham continues that he is disgusted by the actions of Jerry Lawler, Kendo Nagasaki and Carlos Colon. He goes on to say that placing bounties on people or trying to collect them has no place in this industry. Gordon Solie completely agrees. Solie responds by saying that Rich might just be falling into the trap set by Lawler. He goes on to thank Eddie Graham for the announcement and gets the fans back to the ring for the next match. MATCH: THE FABULOUS ONES & TONY ATLAS VS RODDY PIPER AND THE SHEEPHERDERS A great match that puts together two of the bigger feuds in the USWA. The end came with all six men are involved at the same time. The Sheepherders and The Fab Ones were on the outside while the legal men where Atlas and Piper. With the ref distracted, Piper reached into his trunks and pulled out a foreign object. With the object in his right hand, he threw a wild punch that Atlas ducked under. Atlas followed it with a huge right hand of his own which caused the object to fly out of his hand. Piper laid sprawled out on the floor when the ref turned back around. Atlas went for the cover but it was then that the ref saw the object. He put two and two together and disqualified the fan favorites. The result really set the fans off and Atlas almost lost it and hit the official. Gordon Solie was warning Atlas that would not be a good idea and might cost him some money or maybe even a suspension. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: HACKSAW REED VS MOONDOG CUJO The match is all Hacksaw. His huge, powerful body just throws the Moondog all around the ring with the end coming with the Gorilla Press Slam. Reed is furious at the comments last week by Ernie Ladd that he is a cheater. Reed says he is getting tired of wasting so much of his time dealing with Ladd and he wants to put an end to Ladd and once and for all. For the second time tonight, Eddie Graham comes to the set and announces that the feud between Reed and Ladd has been so hot that he fears for the safety of both men. He goes on to say that Ladd and Reed will face each other again in Dothan, Alabama on March 26th. Reed seems satisfied as Graham continues with the stipulations of the match. The match will be in a steel cage and the loser of the match cannot wrestle in the USWA for one month to allow this to cool off. Reed is now really excited and Solie puts this over in a big way as they head to break. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: CRUSHER OTTMAN VS KILLER KHAN This is a match of two of the larger men in the CWA and in the end Crusher Ottman gains the win after he broke free of a Cobra Clutch attempt by Khan by back peddling and squashing Khan into the turnbuckle. Ottman followed this up by turning a Bearhug into a Spinebuster for the count. Solie puts over Ottman and his ability and as they go to break he says, “Ottman is double wide and double tough!” ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Piper’s Pit with Special Guests: Rick “Quickdraw” McGraw Roddy Piper makes his way out to the set and sits in one of the two chairs that are there. The Sheepherders follow Piper out and are standing behind him with their arms folded. Piper has his USWA NATIONAL TITLE around and he is as cocky as ever. Piper then goes on to talk about his match earlier and how dirty a wrestler Tony Atlas is and that he doesn’t deserve anymore chances at the National Title. He thanked the ref for making the correct decision and he asked Eddie Graham to really think about suspending Tony Atlas. He then goes on to welcome Rick McGraw. Piper goes on to really put over McGraw’s strength and how he must spend a lot of time in the hitting the weights. McGraw thanks him but is cautious. Piper then goes on to tell McGraw “Maybe you should spend less time in the gym and more time learning how to wrestle. I mean I don’t think I have ever seen you win one match! What are you 0-100? McGraw angrily stands up and gets in Piper’s face. Piper responds, “Wait, Wait, Wait a minute. NOW! The Sheepherders both attack McGraw and the beating is on. The 3-0 beatings goes on for three or four before Piper and the Sheepherders walk off a destroyed set and McGraw is just face down and not moving. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: Buzz & Brett Sawyer vs Wendell Cooley and Steve Simpson The Sawyers are getting better and better as a tag team and this match was rather one sided with the end coming with a Power Slam by Buzz Sawyer on Steve Simpson. The Sawyers go over to Gordon Solie and rant about how they want the House of Humperdink and that demon Kevin Sullivan. Solie reminds them that the line to get to Sullivan is pretty long but hopefully someone will put an end to his reign of terror. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Sir Oliver Humperdink and Kevin Sullivan are at the interview desk and they are really in the face of Solie and demand an apology. They say that an announcer is supposed to be impartial but they just heard him say that he hopes that someone puts an end to Sullivan. Solie, out of fear, does a little back tracking to try at set things right in the eyes of the House of Humperdink. Sullivan goes on to say that in the upcoming match his Minions have with Don Kernodle and Mike Graham that they will continue their revenge on that low life Eddie Graham by taking it out on his son. Mike Graham can’t take anymore and comes out and attacks Kevin Sullivan. His partner in the match, Pvt Don Kernodle is there also. As Sullivan is struggling in this brutal two on one attack he is smiling and laughing. He seems to be enjoying getting hit. As everyone knew was coming, the rest of the House attacks. It is Abdullah the Butcher, Purple Haze, Hercules Hernandez and the huge Botswana Man-eater throwing Graham and Kernodle into ring posts, walls, tables and barricades. With the House in complete control, Sullivan is back on the microphone screaming over and over again that “The sins of the father are the sins of the son.” Gordon Solie seems relieved when help comes to aid Graham and Kernodle as he is heard saying, “Waitaminute…... Katie bar the door….it’s Dusty Rhodes, Tommy Rich and the Sawyers. The Calvary is here as the Minions and Sullivan scamper back to the locker room.” Dusty Rhodes and Wildfire and furious again and head over to Solie. Rhodes begins screaming, “Keebin! Keebin Sullivan! This is a battle between right and wrong and you are wrong baby! All these great people here tonight work hard all week to do what is right. Working 60 hours a week. Spending time praying to the Almighty one and then they tune in out there in TV land and in just 5 minutes you take away all the right in their lives. Keebin let me tell you something. You are the Devil and The American Dream here is the Angel and this place aint big enough for the Devil and the Angel. Every time I run out here, you run away. You keep saying this about you and Eddie Graham. We all know it is me you are after. Well why don’t you come and get some. Stop hiding between your ignorant Minions. Let’s finish this war once and for all.” Gordon Solie ends the show with “Indeed, Dusty. We are all tiring of Sullivan’s tactics. “So long from Atlanta.”

UNITED STATES WRESTLING ASSOCIATION
THIS WEEK IN USWA WRESTLING: HOSTED BY GORDON SOLIE 5/12/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 9:05 AM- 10:05 AM SPONSERED BY PRO WRESTLING ILLUSTRATED “Hello again everybody. Welcome to This Week in USWA Wrestling. I am Gordon Solie joined this week by Bill Apter and together we will catch you up to date on all the comings and goings here in the USWA. The show begins with Solie and Apter talking about how hot this feud between Tommy Rich and Jerry Lawler is getting. They go over how Lawler seems to have a bounty on Rich and how he paid Kendo Nagasaki last week to attack Rich. Solie then calls out Tommy Rich who is carrying both the World Title and the World Tag Title and Rich thanks Solie and Apter for having him on the show today. Solie begins by saying that he would like to show Wildfire a short clip from the return show of CWA Wrestling on Ch. 5 in Memphis. The clip begins with Lance Russell and Jerry Lawler on the set of Ch. 5. Lance: "I wanna welcome out the 'King' Jerry Lawler! Monday night you'll be competing for the NWA Southern Heavyweight Championship." King: "That's right Lance, I want that Southern Heavyweight Championship because it will bring me one step closer to getting a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship….and I'm talking about the REAL World Championship held by Ric Flair, not the one held by that backstabber Tommy Rich." Lance: "A lot of bad blood still between you two." King: "There certainly is….and Rich has all those dopey USWA fans duped into thinking he's innocent in all this and somehow I'm to blame….but these great fans here in Memphis know the truth and that's all that matters….I'll hunt down that clown and deal with him in due time…even if it means going to crappy places like Georgia or Texas…I'll get my revenge on him and hopefully Tommy Rich will never darken the doors of TV-5 studios ever again!" Well this really sets off Wildfire and he begins to go on a tirade. “Lawler, let me tell you a few things. First of all you call Ric Flair and the NWA Champion the real champion. Well that is all fine and daddy but remember this. I was also the NWA World Champion. I have been the World Champion in two different organizations while you have never been a World Champion. Next, Lawler called me a backstabber. We all know that is not true. He was just jealous that I was given the World Title Shot and not him. Maybe if he wasn’t such a Mama’s Boy and would have traveled and worked hard like Mr. Turner wanted him to, he could have been champ but all Lawler ever did was complain when he wasn’t in Memphis and sleeping in his mother’s house. I mean a grown man who can’t leave his Mother? King….. I don’t think so. Lastly, he insults the USWA fans and says he doesn’t want to show up here anymore. That is fine. I don’t mind going to Memphis and whooping him there. I know he owns the refs. I know he owns the fans because of his sleazy commercials and fast food dives. I know the fans hate me because they are jealous that I am the champ but that will make it all the more fun when I enter the Mid-South Coliseum and take his TOY CROWN!” Rich continues, “Lawler don’t forget, you are already signed for a title match with me in Dothan, Alabama at the Houston County Farm Center. The more you send people like Kendo Nagasaki after me to do your dirty work, the worse I am going to but your Royal Backside. Gordon thanks Wildfire for his time as Rich walks off set. Bill Apter and Solie say that Rich is really fired up and this feud is going to be one to watch. The two continue to talk about some of the feuds in the USWA including Hacksaw Reed vs Ernie Ladd and Dusty Rhodes vs Kevin Sullivan and the House of Humperdink. Solie really puts over the Rhodes/Sullivan issue and says that when they come back they have footage from this week’s card from the Bayfront Center in St. Petersburg, Florida where this feud became white hot. ----------------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK ------------------------------ Apter and Solie review and show some highlights from this week’s major card from the Bayfront Center. · Hercules Hernandez with Sir Oliver Humperdink defeated Rick “Quick Draw” McGraw · Ernie Ladd defeated Pvt. Don Kernodle with the Big Boot. · Kevin Sullivan defeated Mike Graham with the Tree of Woe followed up by Golden Spike. · Hacksaw Butch Reed defeated Hercules Hernandez with a Gorilla Press Slam · USWA NATIONAL TITLE MATCH: Roddy Piper defeated Crusher Ottman after using a foreign object. · USWA NATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The Fabulous Ones defeated The Missing Link & Killer Khan when Keirn caught Link in a reverse DDT. · Buzz & Brett Sawyer defeated The House of Humperdink (Botswana Beast and Purple Haze) by DQ when Sullivan entered the ring and the House really put a beating on the Sawyers. · MAIN EVENT: USWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Tommy Rich & Dusty Rhodes defeated the Sheepherders when Rhodes hit Williams with a Bionic Elbow. Solie and Apter really spend some time with the chaos the House of Humperdink is causing and also both agree that Rich and Rhodes were lucky to escape with their belts and they announce that they have a bunch of more matches already signed with the Sheepherders who are the #1 contenders. As they go to break, Solie and Apter really wonder if Tommy Rich can keep up the schedule of having to defend two world titles at the same time. Solie really puts over the p and coming promotion and says that when they come back they have footage from this week’s card from the Abrahams Center in Fort Hood, Texas. ----------------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK ------------------------------ Solie and Apter turn their attention to USWA territory, TNT Wrestling. They discuss the champion Eddie Gilbert and review all the people coming after his title including Curt Hennig and Kerry VonErich. They continue with the apparent feud between the VonErichs and the Ron Bass led Outlaws. They also discuss how TNT is becoming a hot bed of tag team action.
