Awesome segment with Al Madril. So well done. Also great promo with Cannonball and Sandman. Very creative. I wonder what's the future of Kendall. Also, like the use of your two heel managers. DJ and Humperdink are so different but both know how to get the heat. So far, I think the heels are staking a claim to the PWF. Mulligan has his work cut out for him and I'm looking forward to seeing his response. This is so fun to read. Thanks for all the work on your promos. I know they must take a while to come up with such great material.

Memphis Wrestling
There will be a shared USWA champion who is Curt Hennig right now. We still need to discuss the tag team title situation.

Memphis Wrestling
First, one note on the show. It seems that USWA World Champion, Curt Hennig, holds much of the power in the new alliance between the UWF and the CWA. He announced that the next time he faced Jerry “The King” Lawler, Lawler would have to come to him as he would not return to Memphis. This seemed to be a problem for Jerry Jarrett and Bill Watts as the next big USWA event was already booked for December 30th at the Midsouth Coliseum and both knew that the “Coin Flip” match where Hennig became the champ has left a bad taste in the mouths of all the fans in Memphis and that a rematch needed to happen. Jarrett and Watts were able to come up with a solution… a split venue card with closed caption viewing available to both sets of fans. This resulted in a 12 match card with 6 matches at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana and 6 matches at the Midsouth Coliseum. With Hennig refusing to come to Memphis, Lawler will still get his rematch for the world title; only this time it’ll be in Louisiana. The Undertaker with Paul Bearer vs Eric Embry (Midsouth Coliseum) Eric Embry has gained the reputation of being an individual who will not back down from any opponent regardless of the size, but this is a different level. The Undertaker arrived in Memphis about a month ago and has run roughshod over everyone. He’s truly the most athletic big man that Lance Russell has ever seen and his forward facing piledriver that Paul Bearer has called the Tombstone has left each opponent needing help to the locker room. If that wasn’t enough, the creepy interviews with Paul Bearer and his talk of coffins and the dead have Lance and Dave Brown on edge. Also, for some strange reason, each time the Undertaker has left the studio, the lights have flickered on and off with the words, “The Madness is Coming” flashing across the screen. The only question left to be answered as Last Stand 89 gets started is can Embry slow down the big man… most people doubt it. As for the match, it is all Undertsker. From his top rope waking elbow smashes, to his running shoulder blocks to his Tombstone Piledriver, Eric Embry never had a moment to wrestle on top. In fact, this 2-minute match had the fans worried if Embry would need one of those coffins that Paul Bearer had been talking about. The high-pitched voice of Bearer moaning, “I wonder who will dare to be next” had fans nervous as the Deadly Duo exited the Coliseum. Rick & Scott Steiner vs The New Breed (Chris Champion & Sean Royal)- (Cajundome) The New Breed arrived in the UWF a few shorts weeks ago and have been claiming they are the future of tag team wrestling. They come to the ring in their outfits from “the future” and seemed to have little difficult in defeating the jobbers they have faced so far. Their gimmick has not gotten over very well with the fans in the down and dirty territory, but the New Breed just says that’s because they are stuck in the past in this hick state. The bigger problem for the New Breed came last week when they interrupted the Steiner Brothers who were doing their first interview in UWF. The New Breed tried to claim that they were the future of tag team wrestling and the Steiners should stick to singles matches. This led to the Steiners tearing of the new aged outfits of the tag team from the future and leaving them in there in their boxer shorts… So here we go. Much like the first match in the Midsouth Coliseum, this one was rather quick and one sided as the Steiners showed the New Breed who the real tag team of the future was. While Champion and Royal have pretty good size and power, they were not ready for the Steiners combination of technical throws and brute force. The end came with a devasting two move combo that left both Champion and Royal down for the count. First, Rick scooped up Sean and walked him over to Scott who was standing on the top rope…. WHAM… DDT on Royal by Scott from the top rope…. Next, Rick lifted Champion onto the middle rope and connected with a belly to belly suplex from the middle rope. Both men were left motionless on the mat for the pin as Scott Steiner pulls out a red towel and places it over Royal and Champion and yells, “You two have just been Steinerized!” Jimmy Golden vs Buddy Robert: Winner is the Special Guest Referee between the Freebirds and The Studd Stable for the Southern Tag Team Titles (Midsouth Coliseum) This has been developing for a while now as we’ve had two “family feuds” intermingling. First, Buddy Roberts appeared in the CWA and went after Michael Hayes as he was unhappy that he wasn’t part of the new Freebirds with Hayes and Jimmy Garvin. Next, Jimmy Golden appeared in the CWA and was unhappy with Robert Fuller who tossed him out of the Studd Stable in favor of Sid Eudy. Tonight, it’ll once again by Hayes and Garvin vs Fuller and Eudy but with one twist… a special referee…. And in this case… most likely a very biased referee. Golden vs Roberts to see who will ref and most likely decide the Southern Tag Team Title Match. As for this match, because of the Family Feuds, these two have grown to hate each other in a very short period of time. It is a brawl from the opening bell. Eventually, Buddy Roberts seems to have gained some control as Golden has injured his shoulder as he went for a shoulder block and Roberts moved away and Golden crashed into the ring post. Buddy Roberts heads up to the top rope and is going for a big-time knee drop… WHAM… Golden moved at the last second and Buddy crashed hard. Golden quickly recovers and connects with a few big right hands and then whips Buddy into the ropes and connects with a big boot. WHAM… Piledriver by Golden and he gets the win and the honor of being the ref in the big match tonight. “The World’s Strongest Man” Bill Kazmaier vs Jimmy Jack Funk (Cajundome) Kazmaier has recently appeared in the UWF and his power and huge smile has endeared him to the fans as they seem him like a giant cuddly teddy bear. This niceness has gotten on the nerves of one individual specifically… Jimmy Jack Funk, the masked cousin of Terry and Dory. As for the match, we have Jimmy Jack starting fast as a result of attacking before the bell. Kazmaier, due to his power soon gets to wrestle from the top and in the third and final stage, Funk managed to toss the big man out of the ring where all hell seemed to break loose, Funk nailed Kazmaier with anything that wasn’t nailed down… from chairs, to the actually ring bell, Funk was like man possessed. In the end we get three things. First, a Double Count-out as a result of the chaos. Second, a bloody Kazmaier and third… A very angry Wild Bill. Funk seemed to notice the change in the big man, and decided it was smarter to head for the exit rather than risk Kazmaier getting his hands on him. As Funk headed up the aisle, we see Kazmaier shake the cobwebs off and race after Jimmy Jack. What happened behind that curtain, we will never know. Brad Armstrong © vs Dirty Dutch Mantell for the Tri-State Title (Memphis) A few weeks ago, this match was not going to happen. Dirty Dutch had asked Brad for a title match but Brad said that he didn’t deserve a title match as so many of his wins came as a result of cheating and using his whip Shoo Baby. Eddie Marlin, the CWA president seemed to agree. He explained since the Dirty White Boy was not getting a rematch for the title he lost as a result of cheating in his match with an illegal object, Dirty Dutch shouldn’t get that title match either. This all changed last week when Dutch interrupted an interview with Brad Armstrong and called him a coward and then spit in his face. This set Brad off and when the brawl was over, he begged Eddie Marlin to sign the title match for Last Stand and that is what happened. Nobody can deny that Dutch used his “Dirtiness” to get exactly what he wanted. As for the match, Brad Armstrong bumped and sold so beautifully that this match was one of the highlights of the event. Unfortunately, he might have bumped and sold to good. Dutch whipped Brad Armstrong right into the ref and down went the ref. As Brad went to check on him, it appeared that Dutch pulled something out of his trunks and put it in his right hand… WHAM…. Dutch with the loaded fist knocks Brad down and he is basically out…. The ref starts to struggle to his feet. Dutch tossed the object into the crowd. WHAM… Dutch with a powerslam. The ref thinks nothing else has happened as the two appear to be wrestling. WHAM…. Running elbow drop on Armstrong. The cover…. 1…2…3! The ref calls for the bell and awards Dutch the title. The crowd is screaming that Dutch cheated and used an object. The ref asks Dutch who vehemently denies it. The crowd is still screaming. The ref searches Dutch… finds nothing… shrugs his shoulders and raises the new champ’s hand. The ref goes to check on Brad as Dutch leaves with his new title raised high above his head. Dutch is gone when suddenly a fan appears at ringside with a small steel bar that he is claiming Dutch used in the ring. The ref with no reply or anything just waves him off. “The Rebel” Dick Slater vs The Angel of Death with Woman (Cajundome) It was hard to tell who the babyface was in this match as it was just a brawl from the beginning to the end with the only real wrestling move coming at the end as Slater locked in the Figure Four on the Angel of Death after he came up lame after coming down wrong on the knee jumping from the middle rope. Angle of Death had no choice but to submit. The end was also interesting as Woman seemed to be eyeing Slater as if she liked what she saw. Dustin Rhodes & Sgt. Slaughter vs Tarzan Goto & Tojo Yamamota: (Loser Leave Town/No DQ Match: (Midsouth Coliseum) No need to get into too much of this Patriotic match as we know this one is going to be a brawl so let’s just get to the big momentum swing… Sarge had just been thrown into the ring post and was down. Tarzan grabbed Dustin from behind while Tojo reached into his trunks and came out with some powder which he tossed into the eyes of Dustin. Rhodes began to flail all around and then was rolling in agony, reaching and scratching his eyes. As this was a No DQ match, the ref could do nothing about it. Tojo and Goto then turned their attention to Slaughter and they double teamed him for a few minutes. Rhodes was of no use as he seemed to be completely blind. WHAM… Kendo Stick by Tojo to the head of Sgt…. Over and over again Tojo beat on Slaughter but he kept coming. No matter what they do Japanese wrestlers did, Slaughter wouldn’t stay down. It was a miracle he was still breathing, never mind still fighting. Unfortunately, in the end, the 2-1 attack proved to much and Slaughter was defeated after back to back powerslams by the nearly 400 pound Tarzan! While Slaughters time in the CWA was short, the fans really appreciated what he tried to do and gave him a great ovation on his way out. With the stipulation of the match, only Sarge will be moving on while Dustin Rhodes is going to have to find a new helper in his battle against Tojo and his monster. Buddy Landel © vs Kerry Von Erich: UWF Title Match (Cajundome) The Nature Boy has been strutting around the UWF proclaiming that nobody was in his class as a wrestler…. Even though he kept refusing to fight Kerry VonErich. Bill Watts finally had enough and signed the deal. At first, Landel was fuming but his arrogance soon kicked in and he was sure that he would leave Last Stand as the champion. As for the match, Landel tried every dirty trick in the book but VonErich would not be denied. After chasing Landel all around the ring, he finally caught the champ with a Tornado Punch and followed it up for the win with the Iron Claw. Jeff Jarrett © vs Eddie Gilbert with Missy Hyatt: 2 out of 3 Falls for the Southern Heavyweight Title (Midsouth Coliseum) The big talk around Memphis was not so much about the match but that Jimmy Hart would not be with his main man today as he headed down to Louisiana with his UWF tag team champs, Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and Honky Tonk Man. Eddie Gilbert didn’t seem to mind as Missy was still with him and he knew that he could beat Jarrett with two hands tied behind his back. As for the match, Gilbert used every dirty trick in the book to keep control of the first fall which he eventually won with a Hot Shot Suplex. The second fall was rather strange as Eddie Gilbert asked Missy for a chair which he sat on in the corner for the one minute break between falls …. but Eddie was not being his normal cocky self. He had a plan. The bell rings to start the fall and Eddie calmly stands up, folds the chair, walks over to JJ and cracks him over the head with the chair. The crowd is stunned as the ref calls for the bell and he disqualifies Eddie Gilbert… for the second fall. It is now 1-1 but JJ is basically out cold as Eddie Gilbert waits for the last fall to begin. The crowd suddenly erupts as Miss. Tennessee is rushing to the ring. Missy Hyatt gets in her way but she is tossed away like a rag doll. Miss. Tennessee is up on the apron and trying to get in the ring but the ref is restraining her. Eddie is daring her to come on in the ring… The bell sounds… the chaos continues until…. From behind… JJ rolls up Eddie Gilbert for the win. This is the third time that Eddie has lost focus against JJ and cost himself the Southern Heavyweight Title! Eddie is throwing a hissy fit of all hissy fits as Miss. Tennessee is laughing as hard as she could. Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and The Honky Tonk Man © with Jimmy Hart vs Hacksaw Butch Reed & Ron Simmons with Teddy Long: UWF Tag Title Match (Cajundome) Again, the interesting thing here is that Valnetine and Hony Tonk Man really work for the CWA but are the UWF tag team champions. This all occurred when Reed and Simmons put their titles on the line up in Memphis at Thanksgiving just to get their hands on the First Family. While this plan ultimately backfired, Valentine and HTM are required to wrestle at least once a month in the UWF to retain these titles so there will be opportunities for the UWF to get their titles back and tonight might just be the time. As for the match, Reed and Simmons start hot but Hart is able to trip up Simmons for the first momentum change. This seems to be the pattern of the match as neither Long or Hart will be outdone in the dirty tactic department. In the end, we see Reed hit the Military Press Slam on HTM and it looked like we were going to have new champs but Jimmy Hart, risking life and limb came crashing down on the Reed from the top rope causing the immediate DQ. While Hart did save the title, he and his First Family did take a bit of a beating in the brawl that ensued. The Freebirds (Hayes & Garvin) vs The Studd Stable (Robert Fuller & Sid Eudy): Southern Tag Team Title Match with Special Guest Referee Jimmy Golden (Memphis) This match starts as a wild melee with special referee Jimmy Golden almost acting as a 3rd Freebird. There is nothing unbiased about his actions and this almost seems like a handicap match. The Freebirds might be the fan favorites but they have no problem acting like the heels. Nearing the end, the Freebirds and Jimmy Golden toss big Sid Eudy out onto the floor. Now they focus on Robert Fuller. WHAM… Big Boot by Golden on Fuller WHAM… Running Bulldog by Hayes on Fuller WHAM …. Brainbuster by Garvin on Fuller. Hayes covers Fuller as Jimmy Garvin starts to jump up and down in celebration. Golden with the count… 1….2….. Suddenly Golden stops but Garvin thinks he has made the three count. WHAM… DDT by Golden on Garvin!!!! Hayes looks up and is confused! WHAM…. Big Boot by Golden on Hayes!!!! Sid Eudy is now back in the ring. WHAM…. Eudy nearly breaks Hayes in half with the powerbomb! Golden drags Robert Fuller onto Hayes! 1…2…3! The Studd Stable with? Jimmy Golden have defeated the Freebirds for the Southern Tag Titles. As the trio leaves in celebration, they are being pelted with debris but they could care less! “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig © vs Jerry “The King” Lawler: USWA World Title Match (Cajundome) Even in his “home” territory. Hennig is not receiving any love from the fans tonight as Jerry Lawler showed a video tape of the coin flip to make Hennig the champ. Not that the coin flip made Henning look like the heel, it was his lies that he dominated the King in Memphis that made him look bad. As for the match, it was a carbon copy of the last match in the Mid-South Coliseum. Action packed with many momentum changes that saw the King nearing victory as the time-limit was expiring. After Lawler had connected with the middle rope fist drop, he connected with the piledriver and went for the pin. Referee saw Lawler cover Hennig but that was all as the lights went out. We now have a strobe light flashing…. “The Madness is Here,” The Madness is Here” Those watching in Memphis are confused as this saying has been repeated after each Undertaker interview and they thought it was linked to him. The lights come back on and Lawler is still covering Hennig. The ref is still set to begin the count …. But unbeknownst to the three in the ring, there is a figure is now perched atop the rope behind where the cover is about to take place. 1….. A gasp comes over the crowd as the recognize the figure on the top rope…. 2…. It is Randy Savage and he leaps…… The ref’s hand begins to fall for the third time….. WHAM…. Savage has just hit his famous elbow drop on Lawler and Lawler rolls off of Hennig. Savage is all over Lawler! Eventually, the locker room empties and Savage, who is like a madman, is finally pulled off of Lawler! One finally note, Jeff819 will be taking over the UWF side of the USWA. I am really looking forward to working with him.

Well done show that helps us all get ready for Superclash. Nikita does his best to get hype up the big match by putting Hogan down but to me, it is Debeers that makes this match soo much better. He is even more heat then a Russian. Awesome job putting these two together. Also, I can't wait to see your plans for the Fantastics and the RnR Express. This has so many possibilities.

Memphis Wrestling
Championship Wrestling Association: Episode #10 December 7, 1989 The traditional CWA opening is played with some music being played as we see all the big stars of Memphis past hitting big moves. Before we get to Lance Russell and Dave Brown, we see a video with Jerry “The King” Lawler, Jerry Jarrett, “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig and Bill Watts. They seem to be in some hallway as Jerry Jarrett asks Mr. Perfect to call it. Curt Hennig: Tails… Jerry Jarrett flips a coin in the air. We see him catch it and slap it on his wrist. Lance Russell: Yellow again everybody. Lance Russell and Dave Brown here for Championship Wrestling. By golly we’ve got a great week instore for everyone but before that, we’ve got to get to e some unfinished business from WrestlWar. Dave Brown: You said a mouth full there Lance. As you just witnessed, there was an historic coin flip in the back of the Mid-South Coliseum and that coin flip was for the USWA World Heavyweight Championship. Before we go any further, I want to bring out Jerry “The King” Lawler. Jerry Lawler: How are you Lance… Dave? Lance Russell: We’re okay King. Why don’t you tell us about Thanksgiving Night… and your match against Curt Hennig. Jerry Lawler: Lance, it was one of the toughest matches of my life. I will take nothing from Curt Hennig. He is a tremendous wrestler… but so am I. Unfortunately, neither one of us was able to get a win against each other. Also, unfortunately, we both knew what was going to happen. The last line of the contract stated that if the match was a 1 Hour Time Limit Draw, the USWA title would be decided by a coin flip. A coin flip that I lost. While I did not lose the match, I did lose the title. Lance Russell: Now King, that really stinks. Jerry Lawler: I agree. I totally agree. As I said before, Curt Hennig is a great wrestle but I truly believe that I would’ve never lost to him. I went to Jerry Jarrett when I Iooked over the contract and told him there must be a better way. Jerry told me that both the CWA and the UWF hopes it won’t come down to a coin flip but if it did, it was in the best interest of all involved, to make sure we left Thanksgiving with a champion… this would allow the USWA to move forward and hopefully have larger crowds and make more money with the title being defended in the biggest cities in the alliance…. Yada yada yada… to me… this was about money and not what is right! Lance Russell: I agree with you King. Hopefully, you’ll get a chance to win the title you never lost real soon. As Lawler walks off. Lance Russell: Man oh man, I just feel awful for Jerry. Dave Brown: I agree…. And that’s night the only unresolved business from Thanksgiving night and we’ll get to all that this hour. First, we actually have two other title changes to tell you about. Brad Armstrong defeated The Dirty White Boy to win the Tri-State Title and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and the Honky Tonk Man are actually your new UWF Tag Team Champions. It will be very interesting to see how that works as they’re under contract here in the CWA. As for today, we have 5 great matches for you. First it will be "The Fab One" Steve Keirn taking on The Assassin. Our second bout will see a newcomer who goes by the name of The Undertaker and he will be taking on JT Southern. Tojo Yamamato and his man Tarzan Goto will be in action against Mike Jackson. The new Tri-State Champion, Brad Armstrong will also be in action in a non-title match against against “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers and in the main event, it will be Eddie Gilbert, Greg Valentine and the Honky Tonk Man taking on the Freebirds and Jimmy Golden. That and much, much more. It looks like the timekeeper is all set so let’s get to the ring. Match #1 Steve Keirn defeats the Assassin with the Russian Legsweep in a good showcase for the fan favorite. After the bout, Brad Armstrong is with Lance Russell. Lance Russell: Congratulations are in order Brad on your win against the Dirty White Boy on Thanksgiving Night to become the Tri-State Champion. I also must note you’re not wearing the cast that you had on that right hand of yours. Brad Armstrong: Thanks Lance and about my right hand… it was actually feeling a lot better yesterday and I went back in for another X-Ray and it seems like my hand was not broken at all but was just badly bruised. Lance Russell: Speaking of things that were not actually injured, it seems that you proved to everyone that the Dirty White Boy was faking his injury to the forearm as you were able to rip that brace of his off and show everyone that he had it loaded with metal rods. Brad Armstrong: Not a surprise Lance. The DWB has been stealing victories for months now. I’m just glad that’s over. I am looking forward to defending this title against whoever Eddie Marlin puts in front of me. On que, Eddie Marlin comes out… Eddie Marlin: Lance… Brad… I just want to make a few announcements. First, for his use of a loaded forearm brace, the Dirty White Boy has been suspended for two weeks without pay and he won’t be getting a rematch for the Tri-State Title. By CWA rules, all champions are given a guaranteed rematch when they lose their titles but because of the tactics of the DWB, this rule is being voided. Next, we are pleased to announce that as a result of the great success of the first interpromtional event between the UWF and the CWF, Jerry Jarrett and Bill Watts have agreed to have a second such event…. on December 30, 1989. This event, titled Last Stand 89, will also be the next big event at the Mid-South Coliseum. Suddenly, Dirty Dutch Mantel appears… Dutch Mantel: Brad… I guess … congratulations are in order… I mean somehow you got a title around your waist. Now Eddie, I think you know what you need to do… and that is to give me a Tri-State Title shot at Last Stand. I mean Brad and I have had our battles in recent months and I believe that I have come out on top of most of those matches. Eddie Marlin: To tell you the truth Dutch, we’ve not even began to think of who will get that big match for the Tri-State Title but … Brad Armstrong: With all due respect Eddie, I’m not sure you want to go from one cheating champ in the Dirty White Boy to rewarding another cheater with a title match so soon. I mean, part of the reason you made the strict policy of not allowing weapons near the ring was Dirty Dutch and his Bullwhip…. Eddie Marlin: Both of you have some excellent points. Dutch, you do have some pretty good wins of late but as Brad said, many of these wins were um, tainted. I will take both of what you said under advisement and you will have my decision next week. Brad and Dutch stare each other down as we head into break. COMMERCIAL BREAK & PROMOS FOR LAST STAND @ THE MID-SOUTH COLISEUM As we come out of break, a bald Jimmy Hart and the First Family are with Lance Russell. The fans are getting him all riled up with a “Baldy” chant which continues throughout the interview. Jimmy Hart: Yeah, yeah yeah…. Baldy….you people just don’t get it. Sacrifice Baby… Sacrifice. The First Family is willing to do anything to control Wrestling. First of all, I haven’t heard any congratulations on how my men, Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and the Honky Ton Man are the new tag team champions of a company they don’t even work for. Lance Russell: I don’t think congratulations are in order as I’ve never seen such a disgusting way to cheat another team out of their championship. As far as I’m concerned, Reed and Simmons are the rightful owners of the UWF Tag Team Titles. Jimmy Hart: I mean, I thought all you people here in Memphis were the dumbest people I’ve ever seen but those morons down there in Louisiana make a Kindergarten look advanced. I mean Butch Reed, Ron Simmons and Teddy Long would be better off getting eaten by an alligator then trying to come up with a plan. Now, the only reason why Eddie Gilbert is not the Southern Heavyweight Champion is because Jeff Jarrett is a male chauvinist pig! I mean he jumped right on Missy Hyatt and she fell onto the cement floor and he was the only person who didn’t check to see if she was ok. I mean Missy could have broken her neck! Lance Russell: Well I’ve heard about enough of this. Let’s get to the ring Match #2 The Undertaker with Paul Bearer vs JT Southern This is just eerie. From the ring announcer announcing the Undertaker being from Death Valley to his black hat, long black coat, black gloves and triple wide black tie… and that is not even mentioning his manager, Paul Bearer dressed as the perfect mortician. While the attire of both was almost Halloweenish… it was their death like pale skin and eerie organ music that had everyone a bit frightened. As for the match, this 6’10, 300-pound dead man was as agile as they come. Fans were amazed as he walked the top rope and then came down hard with a chop to JT Southern’s head. That was nothing compared to how hard he hit the ropes and flew through the air with the most powerful shoulder block in wrestling…. And then the finisher… a front-facing piledriver. Lance Russell: Mr. Bearer, I must admit that I’ve never seen anything quite like you or your man, the Undertaker. Paul Bearer: (in an eerie, high pitched, slow talking voice) Ohhhh Lance Russell …. I could not sleep last night so I decided to walk around the funeral home…. I soon ventured downstairs into the casket room … where I saw that our supplies might be just a little on the short side. Knowing what the Undertaker can do to any mortal man, I need to buy many, many more caskets as their will be a lot of devastation coming to Memphis… As these two walk off, Dave Brown asks Lance if it is just him whose hair is standing up on his arms. Lance actually studders as he tries to speak, so he obviously feels the same way! Suddenly, the studio lights go black and we get a strobe light flashing Welcome to the Madness …. Neither Lance and Dave speak as we go to break… They both look very nervous. COMMERCIAL BREAK & PROMOS FOR LAST STAND @ THE MID-SOUTH COLISEUM When we come out of break, Lance introduces us to a new segment called “Spanning the USWA” where we’ll catch up on all the important news coming from the UWF. This week, we see Jim Ross interviewing the new USWA World Champion, Curt Hennig “Spanning the USWA” Jim Ross: Well, I guess congratulations are in order as you, Mr. Hennig are the first ever USWA World Champion. Curt Henning: What do you mean you guess. I told you and all the fans here in the land of the toothless that I was going to march up there to Memphis and beat the so-called King of Wrestling from pillar to post and come back down here as the first ever USWA World Champion. Jim Ross: I not sure you beat him from pillar to post. In fact, I’m not even sure you beat him. Curt Hennig: Jim Ross… do you see this gold belt around my waist? This means I’m the world champion. This means I went to up to Memphis … beat Jerry Lawler… and I am the champion. The Perfect Champion in fact…. And I’ll tell all you losers up in Memphis that if Jerry Lawler wants another shot at this title, he better come down here to the UWF as I’m sure not making that trip up there to see the cow folk any time soon! As we come back to Memphis, Lance and Dave Brown are just shaking their head about how Hennig didn’t even bring up the coin flip that allowed him to be the champion. Dave goes on to say that somebody better get that video we saw at the opening of the show to the folks down their un the UWF. Suddenly, Tojo Yamamota and Tarzan Goto appear! Tojo: Sgt. Slaughter… you are just like every other American I have ever met. You are a cheater. You know that there was no way you were going to beat Tarzan on Thanksgiving night, so you put someone in the stands to attack us from behind. Lance Russell: You mean just like you did to Sgt. Slaughter with the bamboo stick you had at ringside. Tojo: Lance Russell… you never learn. You better have eyes in the back of your head if you don’t learn some respect. Lance Russell: I think its time for you to get your man to the ring for his match! Match #3 Tarzan Goto with Tojo Yamamota vs Mike Jackson Goto just beats Mike Jackson to a pulp. The problem was that he had no interest in winning and just wanted to hurt Jackson. We get multiple power slams and big splashes but no pin attempt. Lance Russell is getting sick and what he is watching and demanding Tojo put an end to this. Instead, we get the save from the tall, lanky blonde wrestler that helped Sgt. Slaughter. He’s wailing away on Goto until Tojo finally pulls his man to the outside of the ring and both heels high tail it to the locker room. While nobody in the crowd knows who this man is, Lance Russell knows exactly who he is. Lance Russell: Fans … I must let everyone know who this man is… he is the son of none other than “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes…. Welcome to the CWA…. Dustin Rhodes. Dustin Rhodes: Thank you Lance… and as you said, I’m the son of The American Dream and I just want you to know that my father taught me something real important… This is the greatest country on the face of the Earth and Tojo and Tarzan Goto … . every time you do anything to try and make it look bad or disrespect it, I will be there with something to say about it. How about next week… you and me Tarzan and we’ll see what happens when you pick on someone your own size! Lance Russell: Boy oh boy… Dustin you sure have your Daddy’s fighting spirit. It is going to be awesome to have you here in the CWA. COMMERCIAL BREAK & PROMOS FOR LAST STAND @ THE MID-SOUTH COLISEUM This segment starts with Brad Armstrong, the Tri-State Champion, with Lance Russell when suddenly, Dirty Dutch Mantel comes out to the interview area. He is in his complete attire including the bull rope! Lance Russell: Dutch, what are you doing here. Dutch Mantel: I’ll tell you Lance, I’m here for what I deserve and that’s a Tri-State Title Match. This man here, Brad Armstrong has never actually beaten me in a match and there is no way he would ever beat me. BA: Now listen up Dutch… the only reason I’ve never beaten you is because you get disqualified ever time we wrestle before I can beat you. You’re afraid to actually wrestle me. Dutch Mantel: Afraid? Are you kidding me? BA: I’m dead serious … oh and by the way, you will get a title shot when Eddie Marlin deems you worthy and right no brother… you’re not worthy! Dutch Mantel: Watch it punk… we all know Eddie Marlin is just a puppet for your daddy… and you know as well as I do … you’re daddy won’t put me in the ring with you because he knows I’d beat your sorry butt all over the place. Lance Russell: Ok, ok… that’ll be enough. Jeff, you got a match in the ring. Match # 4 Non-Title Match Brad Armstrong © vs “Pretty Boy” Doug Sommers Before the bell rings, Dutch enters the ring and goes up to Doug and says something to him. Dave Brown wonders what is going on and Lance just shakes his head as he wouldn’t put anything past him! Dutch reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out some cash. He counts off 5 or 6 bills and then hands it to Doug Somers who takes the cash, shakes Dutch’s hand and then heads off to the locker room. Armstrong comes over from behind Dutch and wants to know what is going on…. WHAM …. A rolled up Shoo Baby across the head of Armstrong. Brad goes down and Dutch is all over him. We get about 2 or 3 good minutes of a beat down before Jerry Lawler and Dustin Rhodes rush out to make the save. Lance Russell: Nothing, I mean nothing Dutch Mantel does surprises me. He is just not to ever be trusted! Let’s take a break. COMMERCIAL BREAK & PROMOS FOR LAST STAND @ THE MID-SOUTH COLISEUM Match #5 Main Event The First Family (Eddie Gilbert, HTM & Greg “The Hammer” Valentine with Jimmy Hart Vs The Freebirds & Jimmy Golden This match seems more like an impromptu lumberjack match as other wrestlers are out to watch and get closer and closer to the ring as the match begins to heat up. We have the Studd Stable (Fuller, Eudy and Buddy Jack) eyeing the Freebirds. Lawler, Jeff Jarrett, and Dustin Rhodes are now out to make sure no funny business happens. This brought out Dutch Mantel, Tojo and Tarzan Goto to see if they can get to Jarrett and Rhodes. The match was a good showcase for all six men in the ring but most of the eyes were on those around the ring. At one point, Honky Tonk Man and Jimmy Golden were brawling in the ring and their action spilled out onto the floor. This brought everyone together and one side began shoving the other and back and forth we went. Just as it appeared that the roof was going to blow…. Lance Russell: Sorry folks, we are out of time. Until next week… So long from Memphis.
