[2018-04-08-WWE-Wrestlemania XXXIV] Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
My initial review: Rewatched this and I stand by almost all of what I had said. Having said that, I enjoyed it slightly more than I did initially. Watching it in a vacuum helped. It's still reasonably hard hitting and there are cool individuals spots. But ultimately, it's a bit of a mess and all the F5 kickouts killed any chance of it being decent. The apathetic crowd didn't help either. **1/4 Speaking of, were the repeated F5s Brock's creative choice or were they incorporated by someone backstage using the "Roman's loses but gets to kick out of a bazillion finishers in row to look resilient" logic?

[1976-08-28-AJPW] Jumbo Tsuruta vs Jack Brisco
Man, I don’t get the criticisms of 70s Jumbo at all. He is so great as the dynamic young technician. Great babyface work and sublime selling. All that’s on display here against an awesome subtle heel performance by Brisco. ****1/4

[1998-06-03-NJPW-Best of the Super Juniors] Koji Kanemoto vs Dr Wagner Jr
Lucha maestro Wagner comes to New Japan and twists Koji into knots while adapting well to the high impact juniors style. Great heel work. Kanemoto is great in the underdog babyface role as well. I can understand the finishing stretch criticisms but I think it was earned and put over Koji's resilience. 1998 low end MOTYC. ****1/4

[1975-07-25-AJPW] The Destroyer vs The Spirit
Lovely match and a really unique one. Cheating, headbutts, punches, blood and more cheating. Great selling and character work. Possible top 5 match for the 70s. ****1/2

[2016-06-11-CaraLucha] Black Terry vs Barbaro Cavenario
The top match of Black Terry's stellar 2016, IMO. Tough as nails vet vs. the young bruiser. Great mix of slick matwork and grisly brawling. ****3/8

[1975-11-20-Joint Promotions] Clive Myers vs Steve Grey
A great mix of superb technical skill, high end storytelling and character work and some nice comedy. Narrative wise, builds off their 10/75 flawlessly. Not really hateful or violent but still manages to be very hard fought, struggle filled and intense.

[1989-08-13-UWF] Akira Maeda vs Yoshiaki Fujiwara
Wily veteran using different strategies to survive the UWF ace juggernaut. Fujiwara's performance in this is about as good as it gets. The best shoot style match of the 80s. ****1/2

[1984-01-27-EMLL] Mocho Cota vs Americo Rocca
The first fall has the greatest lucha matwork this side of Dandy/Azteca. Cota's assault on Rocca's arm second fall onwards is truly incredible and the selling is great. I even like the controversial finish, thought it was a nice twist and fit the narrative. One of the best matches of the 80s. ****5/8

Fantastic lucha title bout with typical attention to detail and rudoing from Morgan, awesome limb psychology, great selling by Brazo and an amazing 3rd fall finish. ****1/4
