[2017-04-02-WWE-Wrestlemania XXXIII] The Undertaker vs Roman Reigns
I thought that this was a very good main event. Just them slugging it out & the story of Taker obviously being on his last legs against the younger man in Reigns - I loved that failing to sit-up spot as well. Great character work. Pretty easily the best singles match Taker has had since the Punk one. ***1/2

Wrestlemania
You must hate fun, hard hitting action with great selling and bumping. Good escalation. Moves that actually have consequence. Two really good nearfalls instead of sixty. Then a really well-built finish. Wow that's a lot of things you must hate. Hard hitting action w/ Shane O putting Lawler to shame with those GOAT punches of his. Loved his whole MMA expert shtick too. LOVED that spot with him outwrestling AJ, truly genius stuff. Sure there were some genuinely memorable spots, but those don't make a good match for me if everything else is complete shits.

Wrestlemania
Wow, that AJ v Shane match was even worse than I thought it would be. Legit DUD levels on live viewing, will re-watch when I wake up tomorrow though, but I don't see my opinion changing much. Garbage match.

[2017-04-01-WWE-NXT Takeover: Orlando] Sanity (Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe & Killian Dain & Nikki Cross] vs Kassius Ohno & Roderick Strong & Ruby Riot & Tye Dillinger
This was a great way to kick off the show. Everybody looked good with Roderick Strong in particular being on FIRE. Truly great seeing him shine. ***1/2

[2017-03-31-EVOLVE 81] Fred Yehi vs Matt Riddle
This was my most awaited match of the weekend - and it didn't disappoint. Freaking loved this; awesome mat work, the work on the neck by Yehi was tremendous as was his work on top in general & there was a fantastic sense of physicality, urgency & competition. ****1/2

[2017-03-31-EVOLVE 81] Donovan Dijak vs Keith Lee
Such a fun heavyweight bombfest. There wasn't any feeling out processes or anything - just straight full on big boy action from start to finish. Keith Lee continues to prove himself as one of the best wrestlers in the world & Donovan Dijak looked very impressive in defeat - one of those cases where even though he lost, he still won. Awesome, awesome match. ****

[2017-03-31-EVOLVE 81] Michael Elgin vs Zack Sabre Jr
This was a fantastic way to start EVOLVE 81. Really good opener - David vs. Goliath dynamic w/ Big Mike throwing ZSJ around quite a bit & ZSJ answering with those nifty submissions & awesome strikes of his. ***3/4

[2017-03-30-GCW-Joey Janela's Spring Break] Dan Severn vs Matt Riddle
Well what the hell. This was such a spectacle - and I thought it was a legitimately great pro rasslin' match. Shoot stylish (as you would expect), with a real element of danger to it - Dan Severn, at 58 years old, worked this match with such sense of urgency. What a man. They just beat the crap out of each other & I friggin' loved it. ****

[2017-03-20-Stardom] Io Shirai vs Kairi Hojo
The first half of the match is dominated by Io, who does such a great job working over Kairi & being the cocky ace. Love it. Once Kairi starts to get more & more offense in, the match gets super intense & the sense of urgency was through the roof. Kairi's comebacks ruled. As did Io's selling during those - her selling was absolutely excellent. Amazing match. ****1/2

[2017-02-18-wXw-Road to 16 Carat Gold 2017] A4 (Absolute Andy & Marius Al-Ani) & Jurn Simmons vs Ringkampf (Axel Dieter Jr & WALTER & Timothy Thatcher)
This was such a fantastic match. They told a great story w/ Ringkampf - who were absolutely tremendous in this - being one step ahead of Andy, Al-Ani & Simmons. Dieter Jr, Thatcher & WALTER just dominated them w/ their amazing team work - they worked the heat on them in such compelling fashion. Loved it. Eventually it was Absolute Andy in the ring - then Ringkampf decides to start targeting his knee, and my god, it was so fantastic. Andy sold it like a boss all the way till the end, and the work WALTER, Dieter Jr & Thatcher did to that knee was great. The super hot finishing stretch capped off this fantastic classic 6-Man Tag. ****1/2

[2017-02-18-PWG-Only Kings Understand Each Other] Chuck Taylor vs Zack Sabre Jr
Thought that Zack was really excellent in this one. He worked the match more aggressively than he has in PWG before, which planted the seeds for what was to come post-match. Chuckie T gave a fine performance as well, but for me, for the most part, this was a ZSJ show. Very good main event. ***1/2

[2017-02-18-PWG-Only Kings Understand Each Other] Lio Rush vs Ricochet
This ruled - Lio Rush embarrassed Ricochet during the insane opening sequence, so as a result, we get pissed off, cocky veteran Ricochet dominating the newcomer. He did a really good job doing that & Lio Rush always brings good fire to his matches. Really impressive PWG debut for the man. ***3/4

[2017-02-18-PWG-Only Kings Understand Each Other] The Chosen Bros (Matt Riddle & Jeff Cobb) vs The Unbreakable F'N Machines (Brian Cage & Michael Elgin)
This was just the 4 lads involved beating the crap out of each other + throwing each other around. Liked how Cage & Elgin isolated Cobb - Cobb did a solid job as the FIP & Riddle was a tremendous hot tag. The finishing stretch was fantastic. ***1/2

[2017-03-05-Stardom] Io Shirai vs Kagetsu
Big Match Io strikes again! This was a great match which saw great struggle in it - Kagetsu looked damn good during her control segments and Io on the offense during her shine & comebacks is always a blast. Really good selling on her part, too. ****

[2017-03-17-AAW-Homecoming] Sami Callihan vs Low Ki
On paper this had me very excited, and they delivered a match I knew it had all the potential in the world to be. Callihan was a man on a mission - he wanted to prove that he has learned from his mistakes & that he is just as bad as Low Ki. This was just them beating the shit out of each other w/ awesome looking strikes (Low Ki is still the fucking man) & submissions which were applied with extra intensity behind them. Low Ki looked like a killer, which doesn't surprise me, he just beat the shit out of ol' Callihan Death Machine w/ that killer offense of his. Every time Callihan got the control, even for lengthy amounts of time, Ki always had something in his backpocket to bust out and stun the champ. The ending w/ Abyss was a bit annoying, but when I think about, it was actually some solid storytelling w/ Callihan realizing he just can't knock Ki down, he needs the help of his mates to do it. ****1/2

[2017-02-17-AAW-Art of War 2017] ACH & AR Fox & Rey Fenix vs OI4K (Jake & Dave Crist & Sami Callihan)
I have a feeling that if this had taken place in Reseda instead of Illinois, this would've got some near 5-star MOTYC hype already. This was just an insane, all action spotfest - they started it right away, and it NEVER slowed down. Just pure spot action from start to finish. I think it was really great. ****1/4

[2017-03-19-PROGRESS-Chapter 45: Galvanize] Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven & Tyler Bate) vs The South Pacific Power Trip (T.K. Cooper & Travis Banks)
Started off with some comedy w/ the crowd chants & all, but once we got down to the real business here, things got really good. Got an awesome FIP segment w/ TK Cooper, loved the work that Trent & Tyler did over him. Really good hot tag by Travis Banks too. After that they decide to go balls to the walls with all action, and it was so, so, SO much fun - helps that they didn't go into the overkill zone either. Great opener. ***3/4

[2013-08-18-JWP-Pure Slam] Arisa Nakajima vs Kana
This was really good. Kana dominated most of it, and Nakajima fought from under. Kana was great with her killer looking offense while Nakajima had some really fun comebacks. ***3/4

[2011-04-03-WWE-Wrestlemania XXVII] CM Punk vs Randy Orton
An underrated WrestleMania gem! Orton came out w/ a taped up knee - that set up the story of the match. You got CM Punk doing absolutely awesome work over that taped up knee, which Orton sold pretty damn well. CM Punk's facial expressions and overall body language during his beatdown of Randy were tremendous. Such a great performance by the man. Loved the ending w/ Punk getting all cocky & proud of avoiding the RKO too, only for him to get RKO'd right after. Great match. ****1/4

[2015-12-16-WWE-NXT Takeover: London] Emma vs Asuka
This definitely went up on a re-watch - really great match which made both women look fantastic. Loved the early shine by Asuka, she was just kicking Emma's ass all over the place & it was great. Then it was time for Emma to work the heat on Asuka, and they transitioned into that very well w/ Dana talking smack to Asuka outside which distracted her for a second. Emma was GREAT working on top, truly loved how violent she came off looking - her offense looked amazing. Asuka's comeback was also great, and so was Emma cutting that comeback off. The finishing stretch was really damn good to finish off a great match w/ the ref bump and all. ****

[2017-03-22-WWE-NXT] Asuka vs Priscilla Zuniga
Love me some awesome squash matches, and this sure was one of those. Watching Asuka on the offense is always a thing of beauty, her offense is just so fantastic, and I loved the cocky character work she showed here. ***1/2

[2017-02-25-CWF Mid-Atlantic-End of an Era] Trevor Lee vs Aric Andrews vs Cain Justice vs Chip Day vs Otto Schwanz vs Smith Garrett
Yet another fantastic Trevor Lee title defense! Can't say that I am surprised. The first third of the match featured some fun, easy to watch action, nothing spectacular, but really good stuff. Once Smith Garrett got eliminated things got really damn great w/ Trevor Lee having fantastic interactions with Cain Justice & ESPECIALLY Chip Day - they just kicked the shit out of each other. That's when the match solidified itself in being ****+ to me. Loved how Trevor & Chip worked together to eliminate the bigger man in Otto Schwanz too. The storytelling throughout w/ Trevor wanting to be in there as much as he could, and only being out of the match when he was being thrown outside was done fantastically, and Trevor sold the exhaustion of that absolutely perfectly. Really can't praise him enough. What a wrestler, what a champion & what a match! ****1/4

[2007-01-28-WWE-Royal Rumble] Matt & Jeff Hardy vs MNM
We get a couple of really good FIP segments w/ both of the Hardys, both of those said segments were awesome, in particular I really loved the first one which had Matt Hardy selling his ass off for MNM - great stuff. MNM were really good as the heels constantly cutting off the babyface comebacks until the Hardys got to muster enough of their high energy offense in to defeat them. Truly an underrated tag match I feel. ****
