[2014-07-26-PWG-ELEVEN] Young Bucks vs The World's Cutest Tag Team (Candice LeRae & Joey Ryan)
This was a spectacle. Truly a Guerrilla Warfare, because when it was over, it truly felt like Candice & Joey had won a war against The Bucks. Candice with that face covered of blood holding the tag title belt is probably the most iconic PWG image of all-time. Not much else to add, just a fantastic match. ****1/2 "Gummy bears are stupid & delicious." - Kevin Steen

[2017-02-27-NJPW/ROH-Honor Rising: Night Two] Cody & Kenny Omega & Matt & Nick Jackson vs Will Ospreay & Kazuchika Okada & Mark & Jay Briscoe
This was soooooo much fun. I had an absolute blast watching it - never a dull moment, red hot crowd, great interactions between everyone. Loved it. ****

[2017-02-27-NJPW/ROH-Honor Rising: Night Two] YOSHI-HASHI vs Adam Cole
Adam Cole is someone I don't find to be good, so I didn't have any expectations going in - but what a pleasant surprise this was! A really good match! Adam Cole's work on top wasn't actually boring, which is VERY rare & YOSHI-HASHI was a damn great underdog trying to pull off the upset. Best Adam Cole singles match since the one vs. Chris Daniels from 2015 Field of Honor. Really good stuff. ***3/4

[2017-02-26-NJPW/ROH-Honor Rising: Night One] Jay & Mark Briscoe vs Adam Cole & Kenny Omega
Meeehhh. The beginning was good, but after that the match just went on & went on & went on. Those 22 minutes felt like 40 minutes. *

[2017-02-26-NJPW/ROH-Honor Rising: Night One] Young Bucks vs War Machine
Thought that this was WAY better than the ROH match they had recently - just a total blast. So, so, SO much fun from start to finish. ****

[2017-02-25-EVOLVE 79] Timothy Thatcher vs Zack Sabre Jr
One of those matches where everything from the entrances to the finish seem to go perfect. The introductions, the crowd (seriously the loudest I've EVER heard EVOLVE crowd be) & the masterful in ring work of two of the best in the world in Thatcher & ZSJ. Absolutely loved how Thatcher finally fully embraced the dark side w/ his cocky antics & amazing facial expressions. A perfect performance by the man. The mat work, the sense of urgency, the drama, the strikes - everything about this just worked. Hats off to both guys. ****3/4

[2017-02-25-EVOLVE 79] Darby Allin vs Ethan Page
A fantastic brawl full of hate. You could feel Allin's hatred towards Mr. All Ego, he really sold the idea of this grudge match super well. The stuff w/ the handcuffs were awesome - loved Darby's comeback with them on, creative & great stuff. He looked really damn good in defeat. ****

[2017-02-25-EVOLVE 79] Keith Lee vs Tracy Williams
Much like the match Keith Lee had vs. Zack Sabre Jr the night before, this was a tremendous David vs. Goliath battle. Keith Lee continued his streak of great performances - just love him do his work on top. He's tremendous at that. Hot Sauce was great as the fiery hard hitting babyface working from underneath. Great match. ****

[2017-02-24-EVOLVE 78] Anthony Henry vs Matt Riddle
Anthony Henry's EVOLVE debut & he looked damn good. He got most of the match, and he shined - great showcase for him. Riddle was great as usual. ***1/2

[2017-01-15-WWE-UK Championship Tournament] Tyler Bate vs Pete Dunne
Quite a banger to close out the tournament - Peter gave another VERY strong performance, loved his work over Tyler's taped up shoulder & his work on top was very good in general. Tyler gave a very textbook babyface performance, good fire, his selling was very spotty though, and that is ultimately why I didn't go ****+ for this. ***3/4

[2017-01-15-WWE-UK Championship Tournament] Mark Andrews vs Pete Dunne
This was VERY enjoyable - coming into the tournament these 2 were the ones I was most familiar with, and this was definitely my most awaited match of the tournament - you got Peter doing awesome work on top, displaying his nasty offense, Mandrews being the ultimate underdog with his selling & flippy hope spots. Just as good as their BOLA '16 match. ***3/4

[2009-04-24-ROH-A Cut Above] Jerry Lynn vs Roderick Strong
Once Roddy got busted open, things got real - before that this was just a solid match between the 2, but when the blood happens, the story of the match becomes more clear as Roddy becomes the underdog & delivers a SUPER awesome performance. ****

[2004-02-22-PWG-Taste The Radness] American Dragon vs Bobby Quance
A very good match. The first half is worked pretty much all on the mat, and Quance actually got most of it - he looked good. They told a good story of Dragon getting frustrated by Quance's technical skills matching him, so the 2nd half wasn't as mat-heavy as the first one - it very much was about them trying to find the one move, the one hold to put each other away. ***1/2

[2005-08-13-ROH-Punk: The Final Chapter] Samoa Joe & Jay Lethal vs Homicide & Low Ki
This was great. Lethal was a tremendous FIP, and the Rottweilers were fantastic working over him - and then you got Joe just getting more & more angry w/ Low Ki & Homicide as the match goes on, and then in the end when he finally gets his hands on them - good stuff. Great match. ****

[2015-10-04-wXw-World Tag Team Tournament] A.J. Styles vs Tommy End
I was really excited about the idea of AJ Styles selling & bumping for Tommy End's strikes - and I sure was not disappointed, because I got plenty of that. AJ Styles was absolutely great, fantastic work over Tommy, and then fantastic selling when it was Tommy's time to shine w/ his offense. ****

[2017-02-22-WWE-NXT] Mark Andrews vs Pete Dunne
Thought that this was a bit better than their BOLA & UK Tournament matches (***3/4 for both of those) - Pete's work over Mandrews was awesome, as far as I am concerned he truly is UK's THE Villain, because he actually wrestles like it. Mandrews is always really good as the underdog & that was the case here too, his counters to Pete's moves were great - as all of his hope spots were, really. Great match. ****

[2016-05-06-EVOLVE 60] Chris Hero vs Zack Sabre Jr
I absolutely love the rivalry between Hero & ZSJ. Their matches are always amazing, and this year their rivalry got even more heated up as Hero took offense in people calling ZSJ the "best in the world" - so now he calls himself the "greatest of all-time". At Mercury Rising, Zack didn't keep his emotions in check (in what was an amazing match btw), so here he was his usual stoic self, but it still wasn't enough to beat the man who ain't nothing to fuck with, Chris Hero. Fantastic match. ****1/2

[2006-04-22-ROH-100th Show] Samoa Joe & B.J. Whitmer & Adam Pearce vs Chris Hero & Necro Butcher & Super Dragon
This was on par w/ the Cage of Death match that ended this all-time great feud; just pure brutal frickin' chaos from start to finish. Brutal spots, amazing atmosphere as w/ every ROH vs. CZW match up, everyone playing their part perfectly & just amazing, super heated action. An instant classic. ****3/4

[2011-08-20-PWG-Battle of Los Angeles] Kevin Steen vs El Generico
This is the best straight up normal singles match these 2 have had against each other. It was fairly simple w/ Steen being the heel, and Generico being the babyface, but in that moment, it all was magical. You got the little kid wearing a Generico mask cheering him on while Steen keeps talking crap to him. It was just perfect. One of the best PWG matches ever - it's one of those ones where pretty much everything seemed to click. ****3/4

[2017-02-21-NJPW-Togi Makabe 20th Anniversary Show] Jushin Liger & Katsuyori Shibata & Tiger Mask & Yuji Nagata vs Minoru Suzuki & Taichi & Takashi Iizuka & Yoshinobu Kanemaru
Had to check this out because of the potential Suzuki vs. Shibata interactions, and I sure wasn't disappointed, because I got some awesome action between those 2! It looks like they might do a singles program between them, it sure felt like it w/ Suzuki constantly targeting Shibata & staring him down + attacking him post-match. I am hyped for that. The match was super fun - you got Liger as the FIP, and he was awesome, as you'd expect. Suzuki-gun did some solid heel work over him, ripping his mask & all - but the highlight of the match was indeed the Minoru Suzuki vs. Katsuyori Shibata sequence when they were both in the ring. Their interaction did not disappoint. Awesome match. ***1/2

[2017-02-20-WWE-Raw] Big Show vs Braun Strowman
BIG LADS WRESTLING. This was awesome - them busting out some chain wrestling & kip ups in the beginning was great - then the match transitioned into Braun working on top while Show fought from underneath & both parties played their parts very well. Really fun stuff from start to finish. ***1/2
