NXT talk
Yes, and I wrote up a few thoughts about it on this forum in the Live Wrestling thread, as did Ricky J, with whom I went to the show, although we were not sitting together. Black was there and wrestled a very good match vs. Velveteen Dream, which got main event time, but it went on third from last. I thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Live Wrestling: What are you watching, what are you going to watch?
Yep, great experience. It was appropriate that the simulation of an old territory that is NXT held a show in an old barn of arena in Vancouver that's over 50 years old. To add to the ambience, two idiot fans in the second row got into a violent confrontation with security and police just as the participants in the main event were coming to the ring. Never change, west coast Canadian wrestling fans. My favorite match was AOP vs Heavy Machinery. Big time hoss fight with the ring literally shifting multiple times. AOP seem fairly polished these days. Velveteen Dream vs Aleistar Black was also good, as they were given main event time and the crowd was hot for the match. And of course I got to see Asuka *swoon*. Awesome evening with a bunch of hardcore wrestling fan pals (including Shrike02) and easily one of my favorite live experiences ever I should add that I played hockey in this old barn in the late 80s and early 90s. It really is a barn in the sense that it's called the Agrodome! Velveteen Dream had a short video promo before his match where he appropriated Bret Hart's catchphrase - tremendous fun and he got a lot of heat for it - and he teased using the sharpshooter during his match, which again got the crowd riled up. Great stuff. Aleistar Black has a unique gimmick and he really seems like he can wrestle. Reminds me a bit of Sheamus, and that's a compliment.

Live Wrestling: What are you watching, what are you going to watch?
Just saw my first NXT show tonight as they came to Vancouver for the first time. I give it a thumbs up, although the Asuka match was sadly a bit too short for my liking. Bobby Roode's entrance in the main event tag match was pretty great, and he was very over, even after he did the heel promo at the start of the match trashing Vancouver after setting it up by saying he was thrilled to be wrestling back home in Canada. Roode and Asuka both have tons of charisma. I didn't get a match card - maybe a certain podcaster extraordinaire who was also at the show can fill in some gaps.

Your first memory of Pro Wrestling
Just went back and realized I posted in this thread the first go round. I'm running out of material Face it we're getting old and forgetful.

Best wrestler to never have a big money run
Owen Hart.

Netflix creating a comedy series based on G.L.O.W.
Just watched episode 5. By far the best one so far. Show is really entertaining.

Have you ever cried watching wrestling?
Has this opus made its way here?

Netflix creating a comedy series based on G.L.O.W.
Managed to watch two episodes so far. Enjoyable show. Betty Gilpin, who I recognized from a small but memorable part in American Gods, is definitely a 10 (she plays Ruth's best friend in the show, and was prominent in the conclusion of episode one, to say the least).

I will be checking this out on the long weekend. Canada Day, most likely, after the bbq. Can't wait.

[1973-10-09-AJPW] Terry & Dory Funk Jr vs Giant Baba & Jumbo Tsuruta
Phenomenal match. It's such a shame it's not complete. I can only imagine how good it was in its entirety, but even so ... it's great. The version I watched is 41 minutes long.

Best Squash Match ever?
It's hard to pick just one, so Ronnie Garvin vs. any number of opponents is my pick.

Greetings From Allentown podcast
I've been steadily listening too all of these. Episode 9, in particular, had me laughing out loud. This podcast is tremendous. Anyone who can make fun of Angelo Mosca is a good listen.

[1985-11-04-AJPW] Jumbo Tsuruta vs Riki Choshu
This one-hour match came to my attention as it was posted to YouTube a day or so ago. Presumably, this is a well-known match but I haven't seen anything about it here. What is the prevailing thought on singles matches between Jumbo and Choshu in this time period, as compared to the all-time classic tags they were in around this time?

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Gave this another chance with the episode on Owen, but this was clearly a mistake. 2+ hours of boredom followed by a big annoying "no we're not going to talk about his death, so there" to the audience. What a waste of time.

Randy Savage
That Toronto house show was pretty fun. The Savage/Tito match was clearly better than the main event ...

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
I can't bring myself to listen to this show unless I have a drink first. Conrad just offends the hell out of me even though I am fully aware Pritchard's not always being fully truthful. Show would be much better if the host could actually ask good questions without being a complete asshole.

Titans of Wrestling coming to an end
Really sad Titans has ended. Will have to go watch more Titans mystery theatre.
