NWA Lutte Internationale TV
Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC
Broadcasted December 28th, 1985
-Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier welcome the audience to this 2-hour special TV episode of Lutte TV. In the semi main event, the Vachons will be defending the NWA Canadian International Tag Team Titles against the Midnight Rockers. The Rockers have asked for one final match with the Vachons and state they will leave Lutte if they don't win the titles this week! Also, in the main event, 6-Men Tag Team action as the Sensationals take on the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion Rick Martel, Quebec Heavyweight Champion Armand Rougeau & NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Jacques Rougeau!
-In this week's opening match, Bob Backlund went one-on-one with Gino Brito. Good technical match to kick off this week's show with the momentum switching between both guys. Gino Brito pins Backlund after a backslide. Postmatch, Brito shakes hands with Backlund and raises his hand and it looks like Backlund is saying his goodbyes to Lutte Internationale.
-Up next, a 6-Men Elimination Tag Match between The Creatchman Family and the enhancement team of Reagan Addison, Geoff Jeffers & Ashley Frost. Botswana Beast & Lord Humongous, just fresh of losing the NWA World Tag Team Championships to the Andersons at Starrcade, are on a complete tear, just like The Great Samu as they completely obliterate their opposition in about 4 minutes. Postmatch, both Creatchmans, Eddy & Floyd, join the commentary booth and they vow to regain the titles from the Andersons in 1986. The Brain says he isn't down yet and vows to bring in a new monster to his Creatchman Family. He has scoured the world and found someone in the Orient who perhaps is the cruelest man he has ever known. 1986 will be the year of the Creatchman Family.
-In the next match, Keith Hart makes his official TV debut for Lutte, taking on enhancement talent Rowland Kellogg. The broadcast team hypes his brother Bruce's TV debut a bit later on against King Tonga. Impressive showing for Keith Hart as he finishes Kellogg with a figure four leglock to score the win.
-Up next, Gilles "The Fish" Poisson takes on "Maniac" Matt Borne, strong off his performance in the $100,000 2-ring battle royal at Starrcade. Borne continues on his momentum and he is as dominant as he was in the Starrcade battle royal. Borne is well on his way for another victory but an accidental elbow in referee André Roy's face sends him flying. That's the moment when 2 men dressed in biker gear with a full-face helmet attack Borne! They hold Borne and one of them strikes Borne with a chair to the head! As the chair assailant awakes the referee, the other places Gilles Poisson over Matt Borne and referee André Roy is making the pinfall, having no clue what just happened. But who are those guys? And why did they target a Maniac like Matt Borne?
-The next match features Raymond Rougeau taking on Tommie Adamson. The broadcast team discusses the role that Raymond played in his brother regaining the NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Championship at Starrcade by slamming the cage door in Black Bart's face. Another quick outing for Raymond as he scores a win with his Savate Kick. After the match, Raymond is interviewed by Guy Hauray and expresses his happiness with both of his brothers being champions again. Raymond vows that 1986 will be the Rougeaus year as they are looking to regain the NWA World Tag Team Championship and they're looking forward to face off with the Andersons or any other tag team in the NWA, whether it is the Freebirds, the Von Erichs or anyone else.
-Up next, King Tonga goes one-on-one with Bruce Hart, who makes his TV debut for Lutte. The broadcast team discuss once again the controversial ending to the no DQ match at Starrcade in which Tonga choked out Jos LeDuc with a cable cord, hanging him from the apron. Tonga has been fined $5000 for this despicable action. Visibly, Tonga isn't too fazed about this disciplinary actions against him as he keeps going with his aggressiveness. Bruce Hart's quickness can give him some advantage for a while but eventually, King Tonga's savagery is too much for Bruce. Referee Luigi Macera tries to restrain Tonga but Tonga hits Macera with a headbutt! This causes an automatic DQ of Tonga but Frenchy Martin orders Tonga to continue his rampage and just like with Jos LeDuc at Starrcade, Bruce suffers the same fate! Bruce's brother Keith comes to the ring with a chair and Frenchy instructs his new protégé to walk away as Keith checks on Bruce. What will be done to King Tonga this time?
-Semi main event time as the Vachons are defending their NWA Canadian International Tag Team Championship against the Midnight Rockers. Prior to the match starting, Shawn Michaels takes the mic and reiterates that what people have heard is true; if they don't win the titles, this will be their last time in Lutte Internationale! Obviously, the Midnight Rockers are still upset at being eliminated first at Starrcade in the Triangle Match. Desperation can do some crazy things as the Rockers are at the top of their game here early as their quickness and chemistry seem to be a tad too much for both Mad Dog & Butcher. At one point, both Rockers are showing a bit of cockiness and in the end, this proves to be their downfall. Perched on the top rope for a top rope fist drop, Butcher Vachon shoves Marty Jannetty, who falls on Shawn Michaels and both men stumble on the floor outside! Jannetty and Michaels have wasted too much time and it looks like Jannetty might've knocked himself out by falling outside. Michaels is pleading with Marty to get up but it is too late! The match ends in a countout and what a dastardly way for the Rockers to go out! The Vachons celebrate in the ring as a dejected Shawn Michaels helps Marty back to his feet and they now must leave Lutte Internationale!
-Main event time as the Sensationals without Sherri Martel takes on the trio of new NWA World Heavyweight Champion Rick Martel, Quebec Heavyweight Champion Armand Rougeau and new NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Jacques Rougeau. Great ovation for all faces as the broadcast team discuss the future of Billy Robinson, Bobby Jaggers & Bob Orton now that Sherri Martel have turned their back on them at Starrcade, by siding with Buddy Rose in the Texas Death Match. Despite the Starrcade turn of events, the now former Sensationals are showing great focus as they work on Rick Martel, still a bit reeling from his grueling match with Ric Flair at Starrcade. Martel is able to tag in Armand and the younger Rougeau is on fire for a moment. However, a well timed knee in the back by "Ace" Bob Orton regives the momentum to his team. Triple team is the name of the game on Armand as the Sensationals are getting several nearfalls on Armand. However, a this time badly-timed forearm to Jaggers' face by Orton allows Armand to tag in Jacques, who cleans house himself! The crowd is solidly behind the Rougeaus & Martel as they mount a spectacular comeback. The end comes with La Bombe Rougeau by Armand & Jacques on Bobby Jaggers while Rick Martel neutralizes Billy Robinson with the Quebec Crab! This week's 2-hour special ends with Rick Martel and the Rougeaus celebrating together in the ring.
Next week will feature a recap of the year that was 1985 in NWA Lutte Internationale!
