Backlund was subbing for Shawn Michaels who had travel issues and couldn't make it in time to Richmond. He however made it in time for the Duncan show later in the night. July 5th, 1985 Duncan, BC 8 PM start -Baron Von Raschke beat Larry Zbyszko in 8:14 -Mad Dog Lefebvre (w/Frenchy Martin) beat Billy Robinson (w/Sherri Martel) in 19:54 -Steve Strong beat NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion Shawn Michaels in 13:11 3-Way Dance: Bob Backlund & NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Andre the Giant beat The Creatchman Family (Prince Alofa Fatu & The Great Samu) & The Sensationals (Rip Oliver & Crusher Blackwell, w/Sherri Martel) in 50:04. Postmatch, The Bolshevik Revolution attacked Andre the Giant but Andre was able to fend them off with the help of Backlund!

Oh yeah, one of the best supercards of the year so far! Also loved Greg Gagne vs Jimmy Garvin!

Omega vs Big Mike is probably my favorite match of this year so far. But then again, I haven't seen Omega vs Ishii from Night 2 so I might change my mind when I see it.

I was wondering the same thing about the teardrop tattoo. I didn't notice anything unusual on Enzo's Instagram right up until I saw that teardrop tonight so I don't know. But with that said, Enzo killed it on the mic tonight and that's exactly what that match needed prior to Sunday. However, I wish that they could've built that up all the way to Summerslam in Brooklyn, where they'd benefit from a much hotter crowd than Dallas, and have the crowd in the palm of their hands.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Death Wish is Ray Traylor under a mask but I could be wrong. Also, Honky Tonk Man is a fantastic addition to the Stud Stable (I'm gonna have a headache eventually trying not to mix those two Stud Stables up ) and it's only heating up!

I don't think Night 2 will air on Fight Network. They probably only planned to air Night 1.

That finish looked like a twist of a finish between Decay and The Wolves from last year when Eddie Edwards did something similar to Rosemary and then Davey sprayed the mist in Rosemary's eyes.

Not fully aware of this myself, given how late I came in the game but it's always fun indeed to have some continuity in the project, even so subtle.

Thanks. I try as much as possible to book gimmick matches as logically as possible, even without much build-ups. In that case, given that Zhukov is allied with Smirnoff & Von Raschke, from a kayfabe standpoint, it was plausible to me that the cage was set up to make sure they wouldn't interfere for him. To be honest, I'm not planning to hold shows in the United States on a regular basis but having the partnership with Mid-Atlantic & Smokey Mountain in the NWA is a tremendous asset to me. I probably wouldn't have gone forward with something like the Pre-Bash Tour if I hadn't those working agreements in place.
