AEW TV - 9/7-9/9 - Who Throws A Chair, Honestly
Yeah, but at the same time you have a tournament in which one part of another recent backstage scuffle got in and the other didn't. Mox *just* dropped the belt which he carried when Punk couldn't defend that. To make him go through another tournament is... not good.

Do I need to elaborate further on why I dislike MJF's tryhard shit?

Why does Mox look like Alex Jones

It's not subtle at all, but they want to root for MJF. ALL they had to do was build Mox vs MJF. Fuck that tournament.

Lol all titles were vacated. A tournament for the vacated AEW Champ is super bullshit.

Interim Trios Champions sounds like a fun idea

It's Ringside, but still...

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Bucks got beat up by an older dude who essentially has one foot and one arm, and a belly full of pastries. With a 5-2 advantage. I'd be embarrassed.

If it's a work, it's possibly the worst of all time. Who benefits from this? To think they would intentionally undercut MJF's big moment for a work that makes all of them look bad is just too wild. Not to mention having Mox (who was on a run) drop the belt just so they could get Punk kayfabe suspended.

Don't watch that series but hats off. MJF is lame to me, but he has this golden opportunity to become, at worst, the #2 guy in the promotion, behind Mox. He has to choose well his words, because he threatened to leave for the competition while the one poking holes at management was his idol-turned-rival. He was more over than Punk in Chicago, to twist that into a generic "lol boss begged me to come back" heel act would feel like a missed opportunity. Also, give Ricky Starks more things to do, please.

It's wild how the TALENT RELATIONS team not only let a bunch of other episodes happen on their watch (the whole MJF fiasco, multiple wrestlers saying they basically had no contact with their higher ups and being ghosted), they did NOTHING to ammend the situation and are actually joining a mob to single out another talent. It's a contest of who can come out of this looking the worst.

Word is Christopher Daniels was with The Elite when they went after Punk. Absurdly incompetent in his role.

Also, Quincy is a fun character. Hope they give him more than just a "haha look at the funny queer character he's so quirky" He can talk! He has presence! Don't let him be just a token!

Hangman cannot walk away from this without repercussions. I now wonder if him having fuck all to do since losing the belt indicated something more...

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Oh shit you're right. In this case, if the dude only has Roddy as his partner, what is the point? Either have the full UE squad or don't have him at all. Besides, I don't think they have people who would benefit from his style

Even on the off chance that Punk goes back to WWE as a trainer, it seems that his problems lied more on people thinking they were hot shit, running a big business like they were running indies, not taking advice from veterans, than anything. I am sure that if The Elite/Page were less of passive aggressive pricks, things could be defused. Like, I don't think someone like Bron Breakker or Grayson Waller or Melo Hayes would refuse listening to that guy.

CM Punk woke up feeling dangerous 0 Title defences 1 broken foot 1 torn pec 16 screws 1 backstage assault

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
I dunno, MJF will get himself some heat back, but we have to imagine people don't really want to know what HE has to say about such an episode. I mean, he talked a lot of shit during his shooty promo but Ace Steele DID that. He ain't about that. Details on what @Jmare007 was talking about (CM Punk's injury) within this thread.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Yup. That's why I think making this all a work is the dumbest fucking idea possible. When the Sixers, Doc Rivers and Joel Embiid started taking shots - deserved as they were - at Ben Simmons, the public thought about how hilarious that shit was and how much of a messy fucking organization they were. It's no different here.

If that is the case, holy shit. Bucks got punked by a dude who got tickled on a UFC fight. This is giving me life. I love gossip. I love when wrestling is wrestling and shit is carny.

He just gets that shit, at least in terms of character beats, crowd engagement. He is still someone I consider very good in the ring, even if not the most athletic dude ever. He made people care about Curtis Axel, Alex Riley, Damien Sandow, and Bo Rotunda. Truly, a miracle worker.

Somehow those two work very well together. Miz's ability to gel with seemingly everyone is unparalleled
