Shit, it seems Hangman just spat some fire on the mic, but I lost most of it.

They might be banking on tournament winner coming from Storm/Baker seem like a foregone conclusion just to have Soho pull the upset, but to me they should've just done Ruby/Britt in the semis. Soho, sadly, has been a flop.

Britt better not win. Just gimme a straight face vs face finals.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
It's up there with Lita's moonsault as one of the worst fucking moves to watch.

I do enjoy the twist of the spoiled daddy's girl being super buff.

It kinda is. He looked pretty much the same back in his Indus Sher days. One of them goombahs actually got squashed by Archer during the pandemic days. Seemed solid.

At this point I am BEGGING Tony Khan to sign Cesaro. He honestly had the last GREAT title reign in AEW if we are into spicy hot takes. He certainly worked bigger than he looked.

Not really. Miz had just defended his title against Apollo Crews, who Bryan loved, and then Danielson went on to say that Miz embodied the soft style of wrestling, and called him a coward. It felt real, but it didn't really rely on shoot shit. It managed to be pretty consistent with their previous history and with their on-screen characters. I miss that show so much. Managed to make people feel so damn real. Renee was perfect in that role, too.

Joey Janela melting his foot on a poorly planned fire superkick spot is some fantastic stuff. GCW truly brings the best deathmatch wrestling spots.

Miz can absolutely talk outside a scripted environment. Did we just forget 2016 and Talking Smack were things that existed and how that promo he cut on Bryan still holds up? I think that what bubba Migs mentioned on the second paragraph is another parallel one can trace between MJF and Miz. Max is still putting things together, he still looks nervous in more high profile matches and occasionally he still goes for the lowest hanging fruit in promos (although he did get SO MUCH BETTER after the Punk feud in that department). One thing I do think MJF has over Miz - and I say this as someone who's low on him and high on Miz - is that he started very young, essentially a teen. He's 26 now. When Miz was 26, he was basically a rookie, looking like a doofus and being overall pretty bad. Comparatively speaking, it's clear that one is better than the other at that given age. And yeah, in terms of physicality Miz is pretty much a stiff. No flexibility, no remarkable strength, form, jumping height, speed. I guess him being able to work around that for so long and so well kinda shows he IS very good!

It's okay, Miz had to slow down to show that contrary to popular belief, he also makes mistakes (the bow and arrow is on Cody tbh)

I have zero interest in today's episode, truth be told. However, I do enjoy Becky's fashion sense. The true visionary in that relationship.

A work would see Sasha and Naomi throwing the belts on a garbage can, not Michael Cole being fed lines about them being unprofessional and how they let down millions of fans.

But Miz does just that! No one *likes* him or cheers for him. He isn't even a homer for his hometown like MJF is for Long Island!

Yup. We got Cassius' pulsating ear over here in the early 90s as well. I believe it was the first major exposure to Japanese animation, and it never really stopped being popular. One other parallel that came to my mind and it has a bit to do with what you said, is that nowadays the popular anime and manga are ones that either are completely out of the box, like Chainsaw Man, and did their own brand of adventures, or that are just going back to the fundamentals, doing that really strongly, like Jujutsu Kaisen or Kimetsu no Yaiba. It makes me think of how modern wrestling shows/companies have approached the subject. Stuff like LU had that fresh, unique take on wrestling, Omega and the Bucks have inserted a self-aware, wink wink nudge nudge flair to a mainstream show, and AEW as a whole has lots of "basic", fundamentally sound wrestling and angles. People like Dustin and Punk aren't doing crazy, new stuff. They are putting old tropes to their best use and making you realize why those tropes are effective. Less is more, sometimes.

They have started that angle in December, when Malakai was just a singles wrestler. We are almost in JUNE and Black now has two other dudes by his side. I fear that ship has sailed and we are not getting anything out of this but a sense of wasted time.

Have fond memories of the show, but Kurumada's writing is all over the place. Still, the Hades Sanctuary arc is great, great stuff. After that... literally goes down a hole. You just know Mu is also like that. Dude is out there fixing armor with blood, who knows what kind of stuff he's doing to treat other diseases. Unless they flat out start with some fuckery, like hitting Wardlow with everything plus the kitchen sink, I cannot see MJF getting much offense in, given the build they have done. It's the match I am looking forward the most, yet I have no idea how it will turn out.

Yup. All that's left is for them to be called "lazy". I do wonder what the fuck that tournament is going to look like, though. Riddle working with a bad hip. Match is flames.

He will turn Otis into a mega male model and get that shit over. I mean, it's the logical payoff to such a gimmick. MAGAel Rodriguez vs Shotzi? I mean sure Raquel is winning but nice to see Blackheart getting some time after so many injuries.
