WWE TV 08/16 - 08/22 avoiding political topics much like [REDACTED] avoided responsibility
It's even worse because there it's something that is still going on. It is unfolding. Touching that is even worse and more short-sighted. AJ and Riddle are a nice pairing. They've had some matches in 2020 and earlier this year IIRC that were dope, too. The addition of a butterfly to Nikki's attire makes a huge difference.

Kushida's booking is all over the place. He seems happy to be at least wrestling different people, but he faced WALTER early on his NXT run and never really rose above that.

This is true, but at the same time there wasn't a huge drop between hour 1 and hour 2, which was around 2.4m viewers. Does that factor in, in the end? In this economy, it's impressive nonetheless.

AEW Rampage - August 13, 2021
The best Brazilian wrestler in the world right now and honestly it's SHOCKING how much she's improved in such a short time. She's great!

SmackDown did absolutely great numbers. Roman/Cena/Sasha do move the needle somehow.

Is Bianca Belair the biggest NXT success story post-2016?

Regarding Cena's line, it rocks because it's just a flat out lie. It's closer to the opposite, even - Cena fucking merked Ambrose back in 2016, and that was basically the beginning of the end for him in the Fed.

Meanwhile, Corbin still keeps on shining, asking 1k from every individual in the crowd.

Yeah, him being there at all is good enough for me. Props to Mia Yim and may Lee have a nice, speedy recovery.

What worried me about his presentation at the Survivor Series wasn't that he was one of the first to be eliminated, but his aura as a chopping machine got kinda destroyed there IMO. I mean, he still chops hard as shit, but Drew clearly outdid him there.

Ilja is actually pretty decent looking, but he's always looking like he's been through a meat grinder after his matches. Has some sort of appeal tbh.

Dragunov could work, tho. He's endearing because he gets his ass kicked and never really stays down. It was with this kind of attitude that Jeff Hardy got massively over, it's easy to root for people like him. Cole is the cocky heel who almost never lost despite the size advantage. Not really the same thing

At the very least, he would be on a bigger stage. Dude IS built like an action figure, much like Finn Balor, and is a great promo. His accent wouldn't hinder him, too. He's probably THE "never say die"face of his generation. I mean, even Raw or SD would be a better use of him than NXT UK Odyssey needs a bit of seasoning but a tag with a fellow big guy would do wonders. Doubt they would pull the trigger on him there.

Get Dragunov and Jones out of NXT, man. Both are way too big for that brand and HHH's awful booking.

Odyssey Jones feels like he won't get anywhere staying in NXT.

Cole's "redesign" feels like X-Pac going from DX to X-Factor but having basically the same attire and same everything.

Ilja is a good babyface promo and his in-ring presence is off the charts too. One of the best fiery babyfaces around.

Deathmatch Wrestling: How much is Too Much?
Alternatively, how much is Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor Stemming from the discussion in the "Comments that don't warrant a thread", I thought that maybe this topic indeed warrants a thread, so there it is. So, just to contextualize: this week, GCW had a show which saw a tag match between EFFIE and Allie Katch going up against Matthew Justice and Mance Warner. This match had a spot in which Justice, tied against the rope, had his belly slashed by Allie, who was using a pocket knife. It is as sickening as you can imagine. Then, it came to me: how effective is this, even? Not just as a storytelling tool, but as a spot, or even as a promotion stunt. Is this comparable to Mr. Pogo using a fucking sickle to Onita's belly, or is a more realistic, "dry" weapon something less charming? I remember when I was younger and came across CZW matches using damn weedwackers and I thought to myself how that was overkill, but still was cartoonish despite the gruesome results. So, what are your thoughts?
