Out of everyone of the NXT main event scene, the one that has the biggest potential as a star is Velveteen - which is not to say Black, Ricochet or even Lars can't be big deals, but Dream's appeal is just insane. Mixing Prince with Rick Rude while bringing your own flavor to the character is some A+ gimmick

Give Dave a couple of years. Considering how he's (or his agent) is picking some more varied movies than you'd expect, I can see him getting to Rock's overall level pretty soon in terms of presence. Rock does benefit from being one of the top stars when wrestling was at one of its all-time peaks and he did make that transition nearly seamlessly, making use of his already established name, while not having D-grade movies like Hulk Hogan did. Scorpion King still rocks. He does have merit, and a lot of it, but I think Batista was even smarter than Rock with his movie selection - being featured in some action schlock, in some of Marvel's best movies, in spy thrillers and in sci-fi classics like Bladerunner 2049 is some very smart selection. His upcoming movie Hotel Artemis sounds fun, too. Happy for him.

I'd argue that "lucking out" in record breaking Marvel movies tops headlining Jumanji remakes.

It helps that Roman is one of the few guys that actually manages to express character through in-ring actions, no wonder I defend him But the overall point of the post is something I agree. I believe that while the content we get is usually great on the mechanical sense, having hours and hours of wrestling readily avaiable each and every day kinda makes it hard for the performers to, y'know, perform. For each Miz or Roman or prime DB, that you get what they are doing and how and why, there are dozens and dozens of people that are just having a match - Orton being the go-to example (although I do think he is capable of doing so much more). For every Gargano/Ciampa there's a thousand Jose/Corbin
