If that happens then Angle is the dumbest GM ever.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Cena and Nikki are no longer together. I'm sad.

Wrestlemania 34
My opinion is the same as DMJ's. Yeah, it's Wrestlemania, but it doesn't need to be some serious shit through and through. I hardly believe it buries the titles - The Bar plowed through the division and while it seemed that in a proper tag setting they would indeed get the upper hand over Braun, all the planning goes downhill when the partner was picked on the spot. It's a fun a fresh angle that gives Braun at least a title celebration, shakes up the RAW tag team division (God knows it needs something new) and gave the crowd a nice little pop.

Dave Meltzer stuff
Actually it's not that the quote system is broken. Since SPS quoted Eduardo, and he himself quoted you in his post, it's much more likely that he made a mistake formatting his post in order to avoid a quote pyramid.

[2018-04-06-Joey Janela's Spring Break II] PCO vs WALTER
Big boys doing batshit insane things. PCO sure showed how to build a comeback, and my God, he is giving his all to the fans while doing that. Tanking WALTER's chops while dishing out his own is one of the craziest feats in current pro wrestling. Dude's chest was looking like a crime scene afterwards.

Wrestlers loved by hardcore fans but not so much respected by their peers
Orton's curious because when he does give a shit he's legit fantastic. He is one of the smoothest guys that ever wrestled, but the thing is, he rarely gives a shit. So the fans don't, either.

Wrestlers loved by hardcore fans but not so much respected by their peers
In your opinion, why did Bryan get few votes in 2015 among his peers, in comparison to Angle and Benoit? In my opinion, it's similar to people who herald HBK and Bret as the best of all time. They are legends in their own right, and I think many people inside their business look up to Angle, Michaels or Hart more than they do look up to Styles or Bryan, sometimes because they were closer to them, or were inspired by them.

I would say that CM Punk is revered by his fans, but he burned so many bridges that he's almost a joke, specially by his peers.

[2014-07-20-WWE-Battleground] John Cena vs Roman Reigns vs Randy Orton vs Kane
This match for the WWE Heavyweight Championship made me a little bit sad. The story going in is that the Authority wants to screw Cena out of the title by pitting him against 3 other guys - the typical situation where he doesn't even have to take the fall in order to lose the belts. Orton and Kane work together early on, with the latter making sure the former's pinfall attempts go without interruption. However, the crowd doesn't really care, because while the heels get their heat on Cena, they are chanting for Roman Reigns. They are hot for the interactions between Cena and Roman, and they teased them duking it out twice in the match before it finally happened. And well, what can I say other than Reigns is clearly the MVP in this match? During a stretch later in the match where he takes on the other 3 competitors, the crowd is pleading for Roman to win this. But in the end, it's an AA from Cena to Orton (with Kane being the landing spot) that seals the deal. He outsmarted everyone and retained the titles. It's sad. Roman was clearly one of the most over people in the company at that point. And now...

Most Overrated 5 Star Matches
I'm baffled by that TMII/Kobayashi match even taking in consideration his tastes.

When did they make the leap?
Reigns didn't have much going on for him after Summerslam '14. He had an incarcerated hernia in September and came back at the end of the year. It seemed like he was going to feud with Seth at that time of the injury. Noteworthy matches were the one against Orton and the Fatal 4 Way between him, Cena, Kane and Orton.

Most Overrated 5 Star Matches
Samoa Joe vs Kenta Kobashi. I know people still love that, and I remember it being a huge fucking deal at the time - and it still is, when you think about it - but I wouldn't rank it *that* high. Joe cosplaying as a 90s AJPW wrestler is fun and all, but it kinda made him look a little bit like a geek.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I agree with El-P about Ricochet. I feel like making a debut in a multi-man match and at the same time just being another dude in the mix is not the best way to have your first broadcast match. Dream had a much better showing than Ricochet did (and he has way more charisma, too).

Dave Meltzer stuff
Meltzer just gave Gargano/Ciampa AND the NA Ladder Match 5 stars. Kind of weird, but ok. At least Gargano is getting the recognition he deserves.

When did they make the leap?
2015 Reigns was pretty much his marquee year as an elite perfomer, even if to me he made the leap @ Summerslam 2014. I mean, while Rollins kidnapped the belt, Roman was having bangers with BIG SHOW (way less mobile than when he fought Braun, mind you), Wyatt (to this day, his best match was at HiaC 2015 against Roman), goddamn Alberto Del Rio, and against Cesaro and Ambrose at Survivor Series. The Sheamus feud was also fucking incredible, so yeah, I'd say that he's made that second leap before ER'16

Post-Mania WWE TV (04/09 - 04/15)
Y'know, the Iconic Duo (or IIconics, whatever WWE thinks is more marketable) being a superior version of KO/SZ in every possible way sure is something.
-
Greatest Royal Rumble?
Y'know, having 2018 Undertaker vs 2018 Chris Jericho might win the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Award for Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic. Imagine being in the live crowd for a match like that?

Post-Mania WWE TV (04/09 - 04/15)
Jesus, dude. But to be honest, Charlotte being bigger actually added to the visuals of the Iconic Duo dragging her dead weight to the ring. Kind of like slaying a giant. On that matter, I'd say the beatdown started on the mic. They KILLED Charlotte's face promos to the point where if she does that again, she'll be proving the heels right.

My posts
It's all fun and games, bubba. I find it rather fun having an username linked to a more famous person, but being the go-to individual when you think about said notorious someone. That "dissonance" is something I will always find curious and amusing. Kind of creates a bigger sense of community, to me.
