AEW Rampage - Grand Slam - Sep 24 2021
I honestly thought this was the best Rampage ever, or at least since Punk's debut. Punk-Hobbs and Superkliq-Jurassic Express were the highlights. 8-man tag was a lotta fun even if commerials ate up a ton of it. Main event was also really good. Only real low points were the MOTY-Jericho/Hager tag and Penelope-Anna which didn't get a ton of time. As far as ATT, I don't quite know how I feel about it. Definitely think PVZ should make the jump to pro wrestling but the only other person I would be interested in seeing is Arlovski. As old as he is, him wrecking dudes with the fangs mouthguard would be awesome to see.

Terrible luck, especially given Naito's knee issues. I was a bit concerned when he didn't get up for a while, but I just thought it was excellent selling.

Okada-Tanahashi was great although probably still on the lower end of their series. A bit too slow but the long-term selling was good and the finishing stretch was excellent as expected. Surprisingly really strong card. I expect there to be some largely skippable shows, but perhaps this tournament will exceed my expectations.

Naito-Sabre and Ishii-Shingo delivered as expected. Finish to Yano-KENTA was also amusing and clever.

I will definitely check a few out, but whew if there was a year they desperately needed outside talent, it was this.

G1 starts tomorrow and...I just don't really care unfortunately.

AEW Dynamite - Sept 8 2021
Zayn strikes me as the guy who has given everything his all but has wanted out for a while.

AEW Dynamite - Sept 8 2021
I don't think there's ever been anyone who changed my opinion of them more drastically than Page. When I first saw him in ROH and NJPW I could tell he was a young guy with some potential, but never cared for him. The same thing happened when he came to AEW and fought Jericho for the title. Yeah, he was a well-enough known name who could put over Jericho, but he still wasn't all that great.. It's almost like as soon as he lost the Dynamite Diamond Ring match to MJF, it all immediately clicked for him. He not only found a character that was interesting and relatable, but he was starting to put on really good matches. Now he's one of my favorite wrestlers.

I'd like to be wrong but I assume Page won't be back in time for Full Gear. At that rate I expect him to return to confront Omega and ideally you build that to another Winter is Coming-esque Dynamite to close out the year. No need to wait until Revolution.

Darius Lockhart was also there wrestling Ricky Starks.

They're calling it the All Elite Zone. Nice.

AEW Rampage - Sep 10 2021
Another solid Rampage. Didn't like the Pac-Andrade finish even if it is the setup for Flair. Match was really good though. Trios match was fun and the main event was a bit rough, but the hometown hero won and celebrated with another hometown hero. The 1 hour format really works and makes for such an easy watch. And the head-to-heads with Henry before every main event rule.

Haha, math was never my best subject. And how could I forget Ishii? Mr. G1 himself.

As for Cage, he works best as a mid-card heel or tag worker. I enjoyed his work as a heel in LU.

The last UFC ppv, Gane vs. Lewis, is estimated to have done about 400k. https://www.itnwwe.com/mma/ufc-265-ppv-buys-payouts-salaries/. That's about their average for a non-stacked card or a main event that doesn't have huge name value.

I'm confident Page will be fine.

La Sombra/Andrade
Live reports were that the match was really good.

AEW Dynamite - Sept 8 2021
Shame about Kaze Ni Nare, but what I was able to catch tonight was pretty damn good. I mean, Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson in the same ring together. That's like fantasy promotion stuff.

Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Dante Martin also for tonight. That should be a load of fun. Bryan also addresses the fans and Cole is supposed to be there too.

Refreshing honesty. Also, I'm glad Gedo has seemingly so much faith in Shingo to not only give him a sustained title run but also hearing him out creative-wise.

I'll probably still watch all of the usual suspects' matches (Okada, Ibushi, Tanahashi, Naito, Shingo, ZSJ) but that's probably it. I'm usually a completionist with the G1 but I skipped all but one match on the final day of the A block in 2018 the last two shows or so of last year's B block. This year will be even less, ha.

AEW All Out 2021 - September 5, 2021
Definitely one of the best I've ever seen.

The Cole debut honestly surprised me. I knew he was coming, but the same night as Bryan? Fantastic.

AEW All Out 2021 - September 5, 2021
I was concerned that expectations were so high for this show that it would fail, but nope. It exceeded even my highest expectations.

Matt Hardy vs Christian
I think Matt's best singles match (Edge-Unforgiven) is better than any Christian singles match I've seen. But I think Christian has more volume, so I'll go with him.
