  1. It's interesting, Bray supposedly twisted his ankle shortly before the show and had he been unable to wrestle, they would've had Sheamus replace him who was set to make his return the following night.

I think Onita had a schedule conflict.
  3. I wouldn't say it was a "bad" ending, but the finish to Valentine-Piper at Starrcade '83 always felt just a tad anti-climactic. Rather than a big punch or move like a piledriver, Piper tosses Valentine off the top rope and sorta wraps the chain around him. Same with the Dump-Nagayo '86 hair vs. hair match. Fluky pin with a 2.9 kick-out.

Lame ending aside, I really enjoyed this show. Shida-Mizunami and the ME were the best matches of the night, the ladder match was solid if too long, the street fight was a lot of fun, and Page-Hardy gave us the power of friendship.

Lame fake explosion aside, that was a great match.

  7. I actually wasn't as high on those other two matches today. But I caught up on Taichi-Goto and that was quite good.
  8. Shingo-Okada was great although not quite on the level of their G1 match. Shingo was a monster on offense and Okada sold everything spectacularly. A bit too many Money Clips but all in all easily the best match of the tournament thus far.
  9. I remember watching Mania 28 and biting it on the Sweet Chin Music-Pedigree combo. Legit thought that was it. I re-watched it recently and it's certainly an over-bloated "epic" with way too much "drama". But it wasn't terrible.
  10. Yanking one's tights up as high as possible always befuddled me. Never understood why Misawa kept doing it.
  11. User-Agent Switcher for Chrome.
  12. I think Shibata had a torn rotator cuff up until he was forced to retire.
  13. Trust me, I'm expecting him versus EVIL to suck haha. I wasn't even super high on the last Tana match. The chop match with Tenzan was better IMO.
  14. I'm still not sold on O-Khan's gimmick, but I thought he did fairly well. Nothing mind-blowing and I wouldn't give him a title, but he acquitted himself well. Cobb looks like he's in the best shape of his life and it's evident in his match performances. Ibushi-Desperado was really good, as was Ibushi-Naito a few days ago. It seems like a lot of wrestlers are kayfabe shitting on the unified title. Ibushi heel turn coming? While I don't think Okada's 2020 was as bad as most say, per Dave in the Observer he's working through 2 slipped discs (hence the back tape). That probably explains why he's taken it easy in certain matches.
  15. Yeah this is what I meant, sorry for the confusion. I have a browser switch add-on that I can watch it with Opera, but still ridiculous.
  16. The fact that it still won't work on a Chrome book is insane. Even WWE fixed that one.
  17. FWIW, Kevin Eck said on one of Wade Keller's podcasts that during the Cena-Ziggler feud that Cena wasn't impressed by Ziggler's ability to call a match and relayed that to Vince. That may be why Dolph never got a sustained push.
  18. I don't quite understand the love Tanahashi-O-Khan has been getting. It was a fine enough match but not much better if at all than their largely average WK match. O-Khan has a cool move or two but is still pretty dang mediocre. Honestly, the Tenzan match was better.
  19. Mutoh and Jun already won titles, why not Kojima?
  20. Was surprised (albeit pleasantly) about some of these results.
  21. This match isnt quite as good as I remembered, but it's still really good and a feather in both guys' caps at that point in their careers.
  22. Oh yeah I'd say he's regressed big time. He wasn't always the most consistent guy but you could count on him to pull out the occasional banger. Outside of the Hiromu match which was a pretty monumental carry job, he's never gotten back to that level.
  23. I only caught Okada-EVIL which was pretty good but not must-see. It was a step-up from their NJ Cup final but never reached the levels of their previous G1 or title matches. Also caught KENTA-Moxley which was very good. Best KENTA match in a while.
