AEW TV March 2/4 2022
I remember being blown away by how much I enjoyed Erick vs. Reigns at Clash of Champions 2019. Felt that it ridiculously overachieved.

I've always wanted to get that shirt.

AEW Revolution 2022
Should be a great show and some matches that are genuinely unpredictable and could go a number of ways.

I also can't imagine TV ratings getting much lower. It seems like those still watching are going to keep watching regardless and will watch the entire show.

The All Things Cody Thread
Could end up not being related to Cody at all, but naturally folks are speculating.

Cobb is another one who's not particularly tall but carries himself and wrestles like a behemoth.

Deathmatch Wrestling: How much is Too Much?
Oh yeah, I will absolutely pass on those as well.

Really enjoyed the show. Rosa pinning Britt and the fact this feud wasn't given a ton of time makes me wonder if Britt retains and Thunder wins on a later Dynamite.

Deathmatch Wrestling: How much is Too Much?
I can handle and think barbed wire, light tubes, and glass can be done well. I personally really enjoyed Masashi Takeda's BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Championship run in 2018. The only things I took issue with were: strong style light tube spots (kinda dumb) and anything with knives, scissors, or box cutters. That stuff is just too much.

Yeah, the only real move left for him was to turn heel.

Current New Japan
Wasn't my favorite between them, but it was really good. Maybe it was because it wasn't a "big" show, but I hope both Okada-Naito and SANADA-Tana going under 30 minutes (but just barely, ha) is a sign they're shortening main events.

Show was still third on cable (only lost to basketball) and Big Bang Theory supposedly had low numbers as well. Just a weird night I guess.

Supposedly Cody considered returning to WWE before AEW took shape. He wanted to prove that he could be the star he was never pushed as and then return to a more prominent position a la Drew McIntyre.

Great show. Yeah, AEW will be just fine without Cody.

It'll be interesting to see if they actually give him a strong, consistent push as a way to try and go "Hey, we're actually not bad! You can sign with us and we'll treat you well!" But obviously that will not work for most and I can hardly trust WWE with doing any remotely competent booking.

Yeah I would certainly hope (and expect) they're going to throw lots of money at their long-term prospects. And Cody is not the investment folks like Bryan, Cole, and Punk are. But as much as it all makes sense to me, I still do wonder if there is a dollar amount that WWE could use to lure other top stars. I wouldn't be surprised if Jericho leaves next. Mox's deal is also up soon but I would be incredibly shocked if he went back.

Mixed feelings about the whole thing. Ultimately AEW doesn't "need" Cody as they're clearly building towards the future while making better investments in guys like Bryan and Punk. Not to mention his stuff always felt so disconnected from the product as a whole (even the good stuff). But at the same time, it's sad to see the guy who basically started it all leave and after just 3 years. I have to think this was about more than money and there was probably a great deal of backstage politics, but it's also a sign that WWE can and will poach talent and they've already got their eyes on MJF, Wardlow, and Jade.

Tatsumi Fujinami vs Bret Hart
I lean Fujinami just due to having a longer career with arguably more volume. But Bret has higher peaks.

AEW TV - February 9/11, 2022
Amazing that he scrambled to get Jay just because he misspoke. And after seeing Lee tonight really makes WWE's incompetence all the more shocking.

AEW Dynamite - February 2, 2022
As soon as I found out that the pressure is on the straight leg, I always have to go "wait, which leg has been worked over?" and more often than not it seems to be the wrong one.
