Santa Barbara sees a clean sweep for Los Guerreros. Steamboat with a win over another credible veteran. Yamada gets a win over longtime rival Smothers & maybe puts a dent in the Hollywood Knight's armor. I'm with the crowd, we need more of that 6 man. Steamboat is proving to be a real friend to B. Adams, which he definitely needs.

The beef between Cooley & Sherri continues throughout the first 2 rounds. Slick may have fumbled with Robert but he did pretty well by Jimmy. I don't think I'm alone in saying I didn't expect Travis to make it to the semi's but the way it happened made sense. Oh man! Tommy's had enough of his "fake ass cousins"! Wildfire walks alone! Even though I knew it was happening (so sorry for the spoiler last episode) Mr Olympia still had to work for his new championship & his spot in the tournament.

Hart gets past Hart's Hitman. Bigelow corals a Outlaw on the way to San Diego. The Thundercats aren't getting the hang of the whole "rule breaking" thing. Black Tiger strikes (Black) Gold in the 6 man. Ok I know she had a tense encounter with Orton but Hyatt isn't doing Badd Company any favors no-showing their matches. Windham guts it out against Easy Ed while Rose puts his issue with St Clair to rest in the cage. Can't wait for their clash in San Diego.

Experience trumps technique as Condry defeats Regal. Orton crosses a line as Gilbert bests his Crazy Gang comrade. Badd Company is in a serious funk. Cameron wins a bruising brawl with Ganter. Windham wins a stacked battle royal to earn the biggest opportunity of his career! Great job peppering in details like who worked with whom & who went on a tear. OMG! Those 2 nights are going to be epic!

Les Thatcher has a lot to cover & he does it well. That's quite the tournament he got together on such short notice. Though it will be 2 matches shorter than planned if Bass & Brooks don't take their lashes. On top of all that, he suspens all of Starr Corporation! Plus Dusty'll be waiting for them when they get back. The first proper interaction between between Slick & the Stud Stable is everything we could've hoped. I can't wait to see Slick's "Stud Stable esque" attire. I find it hilarious that Bruno is simultaneously encouraging Travis's country singer act while never ACTUALLY letting him sing. We get a refreshing change of pace on the Fiesta Garden as Alvin gets trolled out of his own show! The Desperados finally get what's coming to them. On the bright side they secure their spots in the tournament Monday. Nice promo for Furnas. T&Z collide for the TV Title! Thankfully it seems cooler heads prevai...this time.

As Luger prepares to "welcome" Sullivan a man with a bizarre haircut & green facepaint comes through the crowd, sneaks in the ring & jumps Luger from behind. After a few minutes he backs off at Sullivan's command. When Luger pulls himself up the ref ask if he wants to continue. He says to start the match leading to... Bill Watts delivers the news regarding Magnum T.A with the dignity it deserves. RPM's are really pushing their luck. The Freebirds earn their spots in the battle royal. Precious & Garvin are in a very tricky situation... & i love it! Roberts shows Leduc why he didn't belong in the Shiek's army. A loss for Brown AND a fine? Bad night in Jackson for the "Big Cat" Fergie makes his most controversial call yet. No battle royal spot, no bounty, & a angry Casey on the loose. This was NOT Oliver's night!

Kernodle continues his workman's path. Haystacks pulls off a classic handicap monster squash. Lighting Strike vs The Union sounds like a fun 10 minutes "Rugged" Ron wrecks the Wrecking Machine... Jarrett starts us off with a huge announcement, Steamboat/Colon for the World Title at SuperClash! Canek is as ready for Haystacks as a man can be. Karachi Vice advances! You know there's something respectable about a man who knows how much his time is worth & Nick Bockwinkel is certainly that man. Whether by luck, skill or what have you, young Putski gets himself a title shot! Damn wasn't expecting Idol to step up like that. He has to have a plan. The Pitbull makes a huge debut laying out Blackwell! Priceless has the money AND gold. Of course they make the rules! I hope Snuka & Cabin Fever know what they're doing challenging Ox, Hayes & The Beasts to a 4-3 handicap match. Solid promos from Henning & Dream Machine. The Bruise Brothers are moving on! MACW TV Friday October 22nd 1986 On Commentary:Bob Caudle & Tony Schiavone Ring Announcer:David Crockett Airing from the Flora County Civic Center in Greenwood SC (We open the show with a series of clips from last weeks show in Richmond before the opening montage set to "The Hit" by Richard Myhill. We then send it to Caudle & Schiavone in front of a joint NWA MACW logo) BC: Wrestling fans welcome to Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, professional wrestling's most exciting hour sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance. I'm Bob Caudle alongside Tony Schiavone & Tony we're getting ever closer to what promises to be the wrestling event of the fall Halloween Havoc! TS: We certainly are Bob. We're just 9 days away from that event, the face of which has changed immensely. Fans who watch Continental Championship Wrestling already know this but earlier this week the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Magnum T.A was in a car accident. Magnum was taken to the nearest hospital, we can report that he is in stable condition & is resting comfortably but there are serious questions about his future in the wrestling business. We are asking you all to keep Magnum & his family in your prayers we here in Mid-Atlantic certainly are. Switching gears fans, there's more news from CCW. Last week they held a 2 ring battle royal to determine their final 2 representatives for the tournament at Halloween Havoc, Those 2 men being Brad Armstrong & "Wildfire" Tommy Rich. They'll be joining Buddy Landel & Terry Taylor. They were scheduled to be joining "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes but due to a injury suffered at the hands of Bruiser Brody & Killer Khan Dusty has not been cleared to compete. While that is unfortunate news to be sure CCW has found a suitable replacement in Mr Olympia. If you've never seen Mr Olympia fans you're in for a treat. Bob it's proving to be a winding road heading into Halloween Havoc. BC: That it is Tony. Fans we've got some more big news for you a little later in the broadcast but I think we've talked enough. (The Youngbloods enter the scene to a rousing ovation) Gentlemen welcome to Mid-Atlantic. The wrestling world wants to know, what is going through your minds becoming champions in such quick fashion. MY: Thank you Bob Caudle. This is a very emotional moment for Chris & myself. You see longtime fans of Mid-Atlantic will remember our brother Jay God rest his soul spent a good portion of his career in this part of the country & as I'm sure you remember Bob he held this Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Titles on 4 separate occasions. These belts have meant a lot to the Youngblood family & we were sick & tired of water those Rougeau twits bringing shame on the titles our brother worked so hard to make mean something. From now on these belts will be carried with the dignity & respect they deserve & that means they will be defended against ANY team with the courage to challenge for them. The Renegade Warriors are here & with God & Jay as witness we're on the warpath! (The Youngbloods leave to another rousing ovation) BC: Wrestling fans you'll see The Renegade Warriors in action later this broadcast but let's send to the ring for our next match. B.Adams quest for vengeance against Gary Hart's men begins with a win over Hito. A alliance with steam (& by extention the rest of Missy Hyatt International) would be a wise move. Masked Avenger just beat the General! Guerrero beats Yamada as much by experience as skill. I can imagine Black Gold taking a couple bruises in that match with the Dog Pound. Interesting to see The Thunderbirds get a little dirty against the MXE, even if it didn't work. Windham gets a big win over the leader of the Crazy Gang. I don't blame St Clair being pissed. Being dq'd because of a accident? I'd want another piece of Rose's (considerable) ass too.

It was only a matter of time till Madril's open challenge backfired on him. Good on Pride. Well The Super Ds may have dropped the ball but Prichard retains the gold. Sweet of Ron to console his cousin. Oh Damn! I wasn't expecting Sherri to bring in Jason! Cooley learned a hard lesson about messing with a woman's heart. Not only do The Desperados lose but they can't wrestle again till they take their lashes! The Slickster is back in Continental! He & the Stud Stable are gonna be so much fun. LOL. I love that Street was able to creep Man out. Interesting strategy by Poffo with the latex. Too bad it didn't work. Me: You can't possibly get scarier then teaming Bruiser Brody with Killer Khan. Chicky: I just hired Abdullah the Butcher. Me: My apologies Senior Starr.

TNT makes his explosive in ring debut. Mando tries to do his hermano a solid & take out Pillman but it doesn't work out. Big Bubba bests Brickhouse but Camp Cornette ends up making a huge deal with British Steel giving San Diego Battleground it's first match. The Crazy Gang excel in chaos as Gilbert & Steamboat find out the hard way. Douglas probably shouldn't have been a convincing challenger but to your credit he surely had the crowd believing.

Dream Machine gets nasty hanging Garea. Iceman & The Bruise Brothers sounds like a trio with potential. Bockwinkel may want to put a pause on chasing the world title, don't wanna risk pissing off Colon right now. Snuka beats Billy Jack but pays big time. Rock n Roll is on the board! Lawler is two-thirds of the way to his rematch with Idol. But thanks to him Garvin has a win over the champ giving him a strong case for a rematch. It may not have been the smart thing but Lawler definitely did the right thing.

Florida better find a couple of tough guys for Boone & Sawyer & quick. Sabu claims his first notable scalp. And we have the next round in the epic Glamor Boys/Highwaymen saga. Kazaharu busts out the mist against Regal! A rematch seems inevitable. Good & Plenty promises to be a entertaining counterbalance to the "main" semifinal match. Herc & Hacksaw boil over to the surprise of no one. Clearly something more substantial is in order.

I agree there's a argument that a number of these tragedies wouldn't have happened if the wrestler had simply been somewhere else. Brody in particular stands out in this regard.
