  1. Lmao the only way that could make this Dan Lambert stuff worse is add Jericho
  2. Tommy End cutting a promo on Rosario Dawson on TNT in 2021 what the fuck is wrestling
  3. Yes, I understand that's the gimmick. But it's not the 80s, that shit is is just try hard nonsense that isn't entertaining in a heel heat way or even go away heat kind of way. It just makes me roll my eyes and not want to watch anything he's involved with because it's just lame. Of course anyone can get heat saying the most offensive things they can possibly think of and still say on TV. That's not hard, man.
  4. This is already corny as hell. It's getting the reaction they want but it is so lame and try hard shtick like everything related to MJF.

Cage doesn't carry himself as anything other than a random meat heat. Dude has no personality in or out of the ring at all, Brian Cage is a fucking machine was more accurate than Excalibur intended.
  6. The Wild Samoans were big draws and headlined a lot of shows both as a team and solo, and Cowboy Bob himself was involved in the main event of the first WM, though.
  7. The WM headlined by Wayne Bloom's, Rick Steiner's, and Bull Buchanan's sons is gonna be lit
  8. I don't think Pillman ever really pulled it together. Dude was just sloppy all around, imo. He did a lot of stuff but none of it was ever clean, transitions to and from high spots were never fluid, always looked like he was thinking about his spots, selling is always wonky, promos were never good even as Loose Cannon Pillman. I've always found him to be very overrated as an in ring guy and as a character. The Loose Cannon period in particular might be the single most overrated thing in wrestling lore. That shit was Pillman acting like a complete cartoon for a couple of weeks while Bischoff would say things like "He's really pushing it" and then he was gone.
  9. I only saw literally a few seconds, which was the very end of the Imperium tag. When did they, especially MB, get so fucking lean? Anyway, definitely a massive upgrade in visuals. It definitely feels like a developmental show, but the brighter atmosphere, more domed look with stadium seating, and the colors definitely at least gave things a fresher aesthetic. I saw clips of Rick Steiner's son and lol'd for real when he gave his name. The fuck lmao. The clip I saw of him in the ring, he looked a bit shaky but I guess he's very young and has very little training. I wonder if they changed to avoid people talking about Scott or something.
  10. Lol that if you go to WWE.com, they have a little hype video about NXT 2.0 tonight and the new logo and shit, but all the branding for all the matches on the main page is still the black and gold skullz bro bullshit and all the same people that have been on TV nonstop for the past 2 years.
  11. Austin was also better before they got paired up. And during. And after.
  12. There was never a point in the HB pairing where Austin wasn't better than Pillman.
  13. Truly my favorite thing about AEW is Tony getting to enjoy calling wrestling again and people realizing actually Tony Schiavone is a great at PBP AND color and always was. I really have no idea why he got so much shit in the 90s for being a terrible commentator. He might truly be the GOAT, imo.
  14. Tony, Brain, Dusty at PPVs is the GOAT three man booth and I'll hear nothing to the contrary. Perfect blend of personalities, perfect chemistry, always having fun with each other, can make bad matches entertaining, can elevate good matches when things really need to be serious.
  15. Agreed, Generico is well past Sami, but I do want Sami to get past this super annoying scum bag heel guy shtick he's been running with for what feels like 4-5 years now. He was the best babyface in the business for a couple of years and WWE being WWE completely squandered it by making him look like a goober as a face until they had to turn him heel .
  16. They didn't get a non PC trainees/other NXT workers audience until around the WM Takeover so it's hard to say. They moved out of Full Sail and into the PC all together for filming.
  17. Not really in US wrestling, just WWE specifically because it's a Vince hang up when someone has been billed as a cruiserweight or light heavyweight. WCW had cruiserweights mixing it up with heavyweights all the time, taking heavyweight champions in US/TV divisions to the limit and winning those titles as well. They never got top spots in WCW not because they were cruisers or juniors but because of all the old guys that wouldn't put over younger talent at all regardless of size. The creation of 205 Live gave a lot of guys paychecks they probably otherwise wouldn't have had, but also immediately a very specific perception on them that they would never be able to truly break free of from the guy in charge. This goes for all the guys in NXT that were pushed at the top of the cards but billed at 205 or under. Guys like Bryan and Balor actually got their weights bumped up to 206 once 205 Live started lol.
  18. Nattie has absolutely zero charisma or presence whatsoever. She's been around for what feels like 15 years and I can think of maybe 5 matches that stand out for good or bad over her entire run.
  19. strobogo replied to goodhelmet's topic in AEW
That's the thing: Cage isn't a superheavyweight. He's probably the same size as Jim Powers.
  20. I don't think WWE was hitting 200k outside of the Big Four since like 2003-2005. And even then, some of the big four weren't hitting 200k buys in the last couple of years before the Network.
  21. Larry Zbyzsko in the Nitro era has to be the most unlikable commentator that wasn't an explicitly heel commentator meant to intentionally annoy the shit out of you (like 2011 Cole, later stage JBL, Corey Graves at various times, Mark Madden). It's not even that he's constantly putting himself over and very often outright burying talent for no apparent reason, but he's just such an asshole all the time. There's the questionable commentary that frequently had racist, sexist, homophobic, or once in a while even transphobic statements even nominally being a face or at least neutral commentator. I'm not even talking about that stuff. I'm talking about the constant talk of the virtue of MANLINESS and being a real tough guy, yet when The Outsiders come to the booth to fuck with him and Tony, he never defends Tony, even when Nash more or less threatens to break Tony's neck just so his kids won't have their dad be able to pick them up the rest of their lives. And when Tony says fuck this shit and leaves the set, Larry spends the rest of the hour calling Tony unprofessional and unmanly for leaving. Now, Larry was a former world champion wrestler, a multiple times black belt in various martial arts. Tony is just an announcer, never been a wrestler or combat athlete. Larry just stands by and lets them threaten his partner like that and then calls the guy a pussy for not wanting to be out there anymore. And then like a week later, Lee Marshall actually does get attacked by wrestlers at WW3, and Larry just stands by and lets it happen, then talks shit about him shortly after. I have no idea how this guy, at that stage in his career as an announcer, got so over with the crowds. Because he said New World ODOR and ED WOOD Hogan 85 times an hour? Dude is significantly more unlikable as a neutral to face announcer than he was as the ultimate chickenshit stooge heel wrestler.
  22. They didn't do a very good job of following when Dynamite has been preempted despite telling the audience all show what time and day the next show is on
  23. strobogo replied to goodhelmet's topic in AEW
About the only bit of good fortune for NJPW in the past year and a half
  24. I think it's likely that Dynamite will overtake Raw for the first time in the next 3-6 months based on their momentum and Raw's viewership declining. They're going to intersect before too long, imo. I don't think that Dynamite will have an 83 week or whatever win streak, but the time is coming that another show is going to be outdoing Raw in the ratings from time to time again. Hope the move to TBS doesn't fuck their momentum.
