Yeah man all those businesses and workers that made so much money in the past year and a half being shut down constantly and not being able to work.
  2. A big man of today isn't anywhere near the size of a big man in the 90s and especially 80s. Those size dudes are not going into pro wrestling anymore and I don't think WWE is going to be able to recruit them from other sports anymore no matter how much they try. A dude like Kross is portrayed as this huge monster but he's like the same size as a Mike Enos.
  3. It's lol seeing HHH's baby be held in such contempt but really AEW ate its lunch as the super indie with high production values so NXT turning into something that AEW can't really do does make sense to a degree. It's not like they still can't poach indie guys whenever, just puut them straight to the main roster instead of toil around in NXT for 3-4 years.
  4. Cole has basically built himself from the ground up to be HBK x HHH so it's no wonder both love him. I don't think he really moves the needle in either direction for either WWE or AEW, but really only 4-5 talents in the world would imo.

I think Jeff was fine as a headliner in TNA, but definitely not in WCW. Even Russo realized that because his actual main event run in WCW really only lasted about 4 months from April to August and he was phased down the card. By the end of 2000 he was teaming with the Harris Bros to feud with Konnan. I also agree he was actually much better as a face, and the Southern Veteran Babyface run in TNA towards the end of his full time career was real good. Jarrett's push in 1999-2000 would have been like if Syxx was a 5 time WCW champion in 1997 or something.
  6. Ivan Putski was a lot of fun, both in his younger strong man beer bod and even at least part of his juiced to the tits disgusting hot dog body period.
  7. Well when people use QT Marshal and Shawn Spears as guys Cody put over, that's not a good read on Cody's abilities
  8. Cody stalled Darby's momentum twice but okay sure he made him because he eventually put him over after 4 tries
  9. Yeah basically. I feel the same way about Mongo, actually.
  10. I think Sid was actually really pretty solid for the big guy hired just for his look up through 1993 or so and from time to time even into 2000. He definitely needed a good opponent who could work around him, but he could be dragged to decent matches with the right workers and chemistry for most of his career. The worst period being his second WWF run where he appeared to be off the juice and his mullet was at its all time worst.
  11. FCW probably has a better track record of producing big talents from the ground up than PC does with NXT.
  12. The Activity Paul Levesque is ALL ELITE
  13. Most of the people cut this year have been NXT/205 people that weren't making money to begin with. NXT contracts seem insultingly low. I can't believe UK hasn't been completely shuttered and gutted, just keeping the Walter/Bate tier guys and cutting everyone else.
  14. Bronson is a weird cut considering he was just a title holder and was doing Main Event and dark matches.
  15. Oh I was looking at the home page figuring they'd have a notice for newly uploaded content and instead have to search all the way to the very bottom of the A-Z list which takes roughly 4 minutes.
  16. Are there any actual great matches on All Star Wrestling over the years? From time to time I'll check out something that has two big names but they usually seem to be either real dull studio matches or more of an angle than a match. Like Pedro vs Valentine for the IC title that goes like 4 minutes and then Valentine does a suplex on the floor and Pedro sells with full body convulsions as Martel, Garea, and Putski carry him off. I have a weird hankering for some pre-Hulkamania era WW(W)F stuff for some reason and none of the Old School arena shows are up yet although I'm sure they're very easy to find online.
  17. Jay White and Juice declined to work the G1 and will instead stay in the US to work NJ US and Impact shows. G1 is going to be fucking rough this year.
  18. Darby had already been arguably the most over act in the company for nearly a year by the time that happened. There was nowhere left to elevate to for him. He was already there. In fact the previous match with Cody had cooled him down for a while.
  19. I didn't even know he had ever been in ROH. The state of that company in the past 8 or 9 years my goodness.
  20. Who on earth has any emotion in any direction towards QT Marshall? I don't want to be too mean about the guy, but it really seems like he was some random indie dude that Dustin met in one of his dark periods and helped him get sober and now he has a job for life.
  21. Brodie was a long established guy, especially to the particular AEW audience. However his whole run was just keeping Cody's vanity title warm while he went off too shoot something and then immediately drop it back when Cody returned. I'm not sure where the elevation was in that.
  22. I take umbrage that he's elevated people. Especially dudes like Brodie or Black who did not need elevation and were arguably immediately more popular stars from their debuts than Cody. I don't think he did much for Darby either, as Darby got over on his own just doing Darby things and Cody would pop in to be "taken to the limit" every 6 months and Darby would have to start over from the bottom again. I'd argue that the association with Moxley in the early AEW days did more for Darby than anything involving Cody. Darby just toiled around in the undercard for a whole year before he beat Cody and by that point he was already super over. After the MJF/Cody feud, MJF did damn near nothing for a whole year before getting paired up with Jericho. Nothing Cody does elevates anyone or anything because he is so completely disconnected from the rest of the show that he feels like he's in his own little pocket universe where nothing matters. Also lol Spears
  23. Sure but I wasn't comparing him to HHH at all. There are comparisons to be made, intentionally by Cody, but I was just talking about how that feels like such a Dusty bullshit thing to do to get some sympathy back from the crowds that have grown bored or tired of him.
  24. Cody running a retirement angle at 36 in his own promotion as the fans are getting sick of him so he can take time off to do TV shit no one is going to watch and can get a pop when he's "dragged out of retirement" in 9-12 months is such a Rhodes move. It will probably be for War Games and he'll find a way to redo the Dusty/Dustin seal it with a hug and a kith promo with some random Nightmare Factory dweeb.
  25. I don't think this has been a good show, and especially not with all the focus on all the old guys and ex-WWE guys coming off the attention that Punk/Bryan/the Gage stuff from last week might have brought in with new eyes. Why did they go back to Daily's Place 3 weeks after saying that was their last show at the venue for a long, long time?
