I don't know if it is too much time to think about it, the leaks of what and what will not be on there or the amount of overall lackluster PPVs that have happened lately but I may wait awhile before I pick up the network. I want to see what technical issues people are having, what the line-ups end up being for the live stream and what actual rare and new content is on demand before dropping the cash.

Joe, go in the good wrestling thread I created and let us know what you think makes wrestling good. I know Dylan briefly mentioned you were an action guy and I only know what is in my head when i watch the guys on your list. However, I am fascinated by the idea of what you think creates a good or great wrestling match.

Don't waste your time. I believe Joe said he would rather claw his eyes out or burn in a house of fire than watch a Bill Dundee match.

OK, so I heard Dylan say on a podcast (maybe it was the HHH one I moderated) that everyone he doesn't hide his pro wrestling fandom from anyone. Then in another thread, Matt D made a comment about "embarrassed" wreslting fans. I thought about it and I don't hide it from my closest friends. However, I definitely don't mention it ever at work and I would probably deny it if it came up or keep my mouth shut. I have a huge network of relatives who knew I liked wrestling as a kid but I don't think i would volunteer the information to anyone now that i have 20,000 wrestling DVDs. I wear a handful of wrestling T-shirts but none of them mention wrestling. So, how open are you in your pro wrestling fandom? Will you ever come out of the closet?

Yeah Johnny, you need to still claim it. It makes a perfect contrast of the sleazy American vs. the stuffy Euro.

This deserves its own topic. I don't want to detract from the Meltzer talk too much.

The problem is who you consider the masses. You clearly see Meltzer's niche community as part of the masses but this one is excluded.

I guess it just depends what you mean by workrate territory. WWF was not known as a workrate territory either even when Bret and Shawn were on top.

I agree with Loss. You can absolutely shit on the idea that Cornette is using his show as a pulpit for his religious and political beliefs. What we don't want is this thread devolving into arguments about his political and religious beliefs. With all that said, I enjoyed his discussion with Cyrus. I had no idea he had a rep as a good worker. EDIT: Also, don't respond to Tim's points about the merit of his argument. I will delete your post and you will be wasting your time.

I didn't list those names to imply we should have to respect wrestler's opinions. In fact, I am usually in the "Take what wrestlers say with a grain of salt" camp. I listed them as people OUTSIDE this little community of ours. To add another group... in the 80s, Philly fans would take trips to Memphis because they loved the territory so much. Blue Meanie and Johnny Sorrow could give you the details to who was running those little trips but it was some guy who had a radio wrestling show back then. Loving Memphis wrestling isn't something exclusive to this community. I don't know how old W2BTD is or where he grew up with but age and region will affect your perception of what great wrestling is.

Also, people who actually experienced Memphis wrestling like Cornette, Punk, Raven and Steve Austin list Lawler as one of their favorites and/or wrestling genius. This isn't some niche fetishism.

I really liked his Dead Kennedys logo. If he had that logo in red on a black or white shirt, I could see tons of people wearing it.

That would have been awesome.... Even better if he said.... "Hey Terra! Haven't seen you since you were a cruiserweight in WCW!"

It is in the ether. Johnny, his old co host Brian and I ran down every Beatles album. If you heard us live, you heard the show.

OK, loved the show talking about the Beatles. Not as good as the one I did with Johnny Sorrow back in the day but I can always listen to a good Beatles podcast.
