[1994-09-18-WCW-Fall Brawl] Vader vs Guardian Angel / Vader vs Sting
We made a huge mistake not putting this on in full. Vader vs. Guardian was ok. Not as good as their other PPV matches but a solid TV affair. The complete Sting-Vader match was a war. Vader is killing Sting early. Sting makes his comeback and gives Vader some potatoes of his own. These guys throw everything but the kitchen sink until they go into overtime. Overtime was more bomb throwing and these guys are fucking spent. Fucking WCW's bell ringer missed the cue and Patrick had to cover the fuck up by saying Sting kicked out at 2 when Vader and Capetta had it timed perfectly. Still, this was fucking choice. The sudden death period was fun as it reminded me of the Valiant-Lawler slugfest when Vader was throwing potatoes. Not so much when Sting was throwing marshmallows. Stupid WCW booking ending but the entire thing was fucking awesome as a whole.

[1994-09-18-WCW-Fall Brawl] Cactus Jack vs Kevin Sullivan (Loser Leaves WCW)
Good thing we put this on JIP. The full thing was sad to watch. Cactus does a huge plunge to the concrete from the top rope about 2 minutes in and is up and brawling about 20 seconds later. It should have been the final moment to send him packing. About 2 or 3 minutes later, he takes a back body drop on the concrete. It takes interference from Evad to send Cactus packing. What a shit moment.

Yeah not disagreeing with anything you guys are saying... just weird that not one person addressed it in nominations.

Nobody mentioned half the match was missing when we put it on the Memphis project. Everyone just said how great it was when viewing it.

[1994-08-24-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXVIII] Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan
Man, I understand the complaints about this booking but I thought this was awesome as a standalone Hogan match. I don't think Hogan was inconsistent at all with the leg injury. Just like the Regal-Arn match, Flair knows he has the leg in the back pocket so why go to it too early? Before Flair jacks the knee mid match, Hogan is selling the leg but he is still moving gingerly because it fucking hurts. Not enough to keep him from beating Flair's ass. I love how early on, Flair came to wrestle but Hogan came to fight, stuffing the bandana down Flair's throat, using the towel to swing Flair into the ringpost, as a clothesline device. All good shit. Even when they were brawling in the aisle, Hogan was throwing fucking headbutts. If you accept that rationale, Flair doing the delayed suplex and Hogan no selling didn't even bother me. After Flair takes over on the leg, Hogan's selling was awesome. He falls after the big boot which visually looked great. He can't cover after the leg drop. He should have tapped to the figure four. I agree with the stupidity of the booking but I thought the match before the end was great, one of Hogan's best. I also don't think Flair holding the belt made him look stupid. The announcer just said he was the new world champ. He just fought and got his ass kicked for 20 minutes. Might not have snapped right away. His reaction was appropriate once it was corrected. Overall, loved this Clash and this main event.

[1994-08-24-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXVIII] Dusty & Dustin Rhodes vs Terry Funk & Bunkhouse Buck
Really fun match I love Funk and Dusty pairing off and Buck Dustin pairing off early. The heels are just human pinballs in this and I love the collision spots. This could really benefit from some heat segments Dusty's arm was just begging to be worked over for 3-5 minutes!!!! I enjoyed the PPV match way more even though Dustin was a one man show in that one. This continues the feud nicely and feels more like a TV match than a PPV caliber match. Couldn't disagree with Jerome more. Loved all of the Bunk-Dust matchups leading to the tags. So far, my WCW feud of the year.

[1994-08-24-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXVIII] Steve Austin vs Ricky Steamboat
I really enjoyed this match. It was the workrate match of the feud with no long term selling or sound story being told unlike the previous PPV match. However, beautiful work with some great go-go-go segments. I loved that Steamer was a little more vicious in this one slamming the arm into the ring post, being disrespected and unloading on Austin later in the match. Such a shame it ended for Steamboat here.

Wrestling Observer Awards Special (Voices of Wrestling)
Live, I think it was hurt by being able to tell up close when the teams were on different pages and a lot of spots were awkward as a result. I remember one of the early eliminations having a hot ending but there were other matches on the card we we enjoyed more. I am also aware that seeing a match live can change the way you view a match... see my reaction to TLC and everyone else's.

I was at the San Antonio match live. It wasn't very good.

At DVDVR there is an option where you can see who voted for what in every poll Ah that is interesting.

I usually don't stick up for Punk from a personality standpoint but at what specific points in that interview did he come across as a a dick to you?

Wrestling Observer Awards Special (Voices of Wrestling)
I have not listened to the show yet but I will soon. However, any discussion about Goldust usually has his age as a "By the way, he is old as shit and working at a high level". It's an afterthought, not the initial thought when watching the guy... especially when you have seen him work in the indies the last couple of years.

I think that is his point with Benoit vs. Angle.

Bob Backlund
I will wait until the 1980s set is finished before making that judgment. I think Bob has more high end matches than Hogan and both have annoying traits. However, I have really enjoyed 1984-1986 Hogan alot but alot of the things that Parv is complaining about with Backlund I don't think are a problem at all.
