AEW Dynamite Week 2 - 9th October 2019
If a tree falls in a forest, and nobody is there to see it... did it really happen?

WWE TV 10/07 - 10/13 Mamma Mia Nigel! The crowd is turning on Seth much like [REDACTED COMPARISON]
Moved the NXT talk into the weekly thread since it is now on Network TV.

AEW Dark Megathread
I enjoyed it also although I skipped the women's match. The only thing that bothered me was the liberal use of backstabbers in every match

@FMKK Edit the date into the title. Thanks!

Does that make Seamus ginjured?

Hell in a Cell 2019 - Card is not only subject to change, but is bound to
This is exactly how it felt at last year's Hell in a Cell PPV. It was the 1st live WWE experience where I saw the crowd walk out in silence.

WWE TV 09/30 - 10/6 Posting quickly to avoid politics-inspired subtitles
I am almost positive ratings went up initially when Edge was on top but they were also doing things like "Edge and Lita will fuck in the ring".

All Elite Wrestling
With the TV, I agree with both of you. With Full Gear, I expected a sellout on par with the other PPVs.

All Elite Wrestling
Sold Out: Washington Oct.. 2 Boston Oct. 9 Philly Oct. 16 Not Sold Out: PIttsburgh Oct. 23 Charleston Oct. 30 Charlotte Nov. 6 Baltimore Nov. 9 (Full Gear) Nashville Nov. 13 Chicago Nov. 27 I don't expect AEW to sell out every show but do we have any idea on if any of these shows that have tickets remaining are near sell outs or are half full? It seems like they were on a roll and momentum just stalled immediately. I was really surprised that Full Gear didn't sell out with the 2 best possible main events they could give fans at this point.

California legislature passes AB5 gig-work bill, which could turn contractors into employees
Nobody is getting banned. Far worse things have been said about people on this board without bannings. With that said, let's stick to how this bill specifically relates to the wrestling industry.

Luchasaurus vs. Rusev is my new dream match.

All Elite Wrestling
I'm not a fan but there have been worse names.
-
Dave Meltzer stuff
This hasn't been mentioned but if that was the case, the ladder match shouldn't have been booked. If they wanted the world title to be the peak of the show, don't book another match that has the potential to upstage it.

AEW All Out
I am pretty sure it was just having specific names on board. Jericho and Ross were the 2 big ones. People shit on Ross but I don't think they get a TV deal without him. I also think they have one more big name in the bag (not named Moxley) that helped them secure the TV deal and who doesn't appear until tonight or on the debut show. That is just a gut feeling, not insider bullshit.

AEW All Out
Here is the card for tonight. Still on the fence on if I'm ordering the show. AEW World Championship: Chris Jericho vs. "Hangman" Page Kenny Omega vs. PAC Cody vs. Shawn Spears AAA Tag Team Championship (Ladder Match): Lucha Bros. (c) vs. The Young Bucks Joey Janela vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Darby Allin Best Friends vs. The Dark Order (Winners earn first-round by in tag title tournament) Riho vs. Hikaru Shida Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt vs. SCU Private Party vs. Angelico & Jack Evans (The Buy-In pre-show) Women's Casino Battle Royale (The Buy-In pre-show; winner receives women's title shot)

WWE TV 08/19 - 08/25 The Return of the King of the Ring
Never seen a Mae Young classic. Having said that, I don't know if the original comment was made in jest. If not, um... here's hoping both couples live a long happy life together?

WWE TV 08/19 - 08/25 The Return of the King of the Ring
I was reading the Observer after I posted this and found out who they were. I have never watched Impact so had no idea who they were.

Who?

We have discussed getting those lapsed fans. Putting Tony in a booth on TV with JR and Excalibur makes sense. AEW can't be deaf to the criticisms that Marvez has been receiving so i can see Marvez moving to the backstage role. With JR, you have the face and voice of wrestling at its biggest peak. With Tony, you have the voice of WCW on TNT for so many years. Excalibur is the darling voiceof the indys. That team would be the perfect mix of having your cake and eating it too.

WWE TV 08/12 - 08/18 Poop every other day to stop global warming
At no point has El-P ever been reprimanded for being a racist in his decade+ of posting here so lets be careful about labeling posters as such without actual specific proof. Thanks!

WWE Summerslam 2019
Most of the Takeover thread was complaining about Mauro. That is why the thread was longer.
-
NXT Takeover: Toronto 2019
I am pretty sure they are just going to follow the formula from the Austin-HHH 3 Stages of Hell... Regular match, garbage match then a cage/Hell in a Cell match.
-
AEW on TNT
Ok I am confused... so AEW IS running Boston proper???
-
AEW on TNT
Also, this was a small line in the Observer this week... I think this is a great move.

AEW on TNT
If that's the case, why have a pre-show in the first place? This was another criticism... what is the purpose of having a pre-show? If it's because that's just how things are done, not a very forward thinking or reasonable move. If it's to give a teaser of what's on the main show, it's a fail. If it's to warm up the crowd then why not make it dark and not air it? If it's to get people who are on the fence to buy your product then why put crap on the pre-show? I understand that Cornette gets a lot of play because he is the loudest voice but many of the criticisms are valid and trying to dismiss these as "small" issues is a mistake that every defunct promotion has made... including companies that Cornette has run. Nobody wants this promotion to succeed more than me but I won't ignore the bad while I am too busy singing the praises of the good.
