WWE spoiling outcomes of Title Changes
It wasn't so much that Schiavone and Bischoff got "heat" for it. Although everyone pretty much thought it was a dick move to try to shit on Mick's big moment. But it's more of an "LOL" moment, because their big mouths caused them to lose a lot of viewers that night.

WWE Network... It's Here
Beyond the ring lists the Heyman doc as being available, but when I click to watch it, I'm told there is a problem . . . . .

CM Punk on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling
That's brilliant!

[1981-09-23-NJPW-Bloody Fight Series] Andre the Giant vs Stan Hansen
I'll be a monkey's bare-assed Uncle! This is awesome. There are probably only three or four actual wrestling moves, but the stiffness and intensity that Andre and Stan use more than make up for it. Everything takes a back seat to beating the piss out of each other. Andre takes a few nice bumps from Stan, and even the Giant can't withstand the Western Lariat! Then Andre pulls out his own elbow pad and makes Hansen eat the European Lariat!

[1981-01-18-AJPW] Giant Baba vs Verne Gagne
This is an attempt to unify Verne's AWA Title with Baba's PWF Title, so the finish is almost blatantly obvious. But, this winds up being a fun match, even more so when you consider that both Baba and Gagne had age, and other factors, catching up with them. The first fall is a bit dull, with Verne keeping things on the ground, but, Verne does bust out a nice pair of dropkicks. The second and third falls are more like sprints, with Baba bumping Verne, and Verne doing a surprisingly nice job of stooging, but not overdoing it, until they eventually go to the double count out.

Nicest person in wrestling
I met him in 2011, and got to hang out with him for a bit after the show. Super cool guy.

It looks like the raw replays jumped ahead a coupe of weeks. I'm sure there wasn't a raw on 12/25/95, but wasn't the "Raw Bowl" on New Years day?

Most unruly crowds you've ever seen
The Mid South crowds, especially in Tulsa and Houma were said to have been especially bad. As bad and annoying as the ECW crowds could be, when Paul ran an especially hot angle, they could get ugly. Until I see differently, I consider Shane Douglas grabbing Gary Wolfe by the halo, to be the heat record.

PWO FEEDBACK
I'm with Bill here. The fact that Will and Loss actually had to make an official rule over this is fucking ridiculous. That shit should be common fucking sense. As much as we all groaned and rolled our eyes over WP/RE and some of his opinions, at least that's what he was arguing, instead of saying that the only reason a bunch of people liked Lawler was because PWO is a Lawler fan's board.

Terminology of match quality
Wow. I'm late to the party! I think OJ nailed it. Fun is simply one of the first rungs on the proverbial ladder when giving an overall positive assessment of match quality. To me, it's like saying that all boxers are dogs, but all dogs are not boxers. All great matches are fun, but all fun matches are not great.

Nicest person in wrestling
Seconded! I'll also say that Eddie Edwards does belong on the list. Of all the times I've seen and talked to him, he's always been a really cool guy.

I'm a bit more than halfway through the first edition of Back to Territories, and this first one is a winner. Corny and Duggan discuss the various names and faces associated with the territory, and talk about the horrendous road trips and crazed fans, along with plenty of good stories, and little cutaways for Cornette to discus the history of the promotion. But, I have to wonder how it's going to work for future editions though, when it's a territory that JC hasn't worked in, and, thus, won't have anything to really add to the mix.

Jumbo Tsuruta
I'm not sure of the source, but the date is what jumped out to me. It's right between two of the matches often listed as being the best of the '70's. Jumbo/Terry from 6/11/76 and Baba/Robinson from 7/24/76.

Jumbo Tsuruta
How is the Jumbo/Robinson 6/17/76 match?

New TNA Home
And the boys get royally screwed, unless, like FPT said, TNA eases up on them working indies and doesn't take huge cuts of their payoff.

[1952-01-25-Kohler Chicago] Lou Thesz vs Verne Gagne
I don't have much to really add here, that wasn't already said. But, I absolutely loved this! The work was very engaging, and Lou was exactly what he needed to be. I especially loved Verne getting fed up with the cheap shots and just going to town on Lou during the second fall. The crowd heat also made this a lot of fun. Every time Lou went for the ropes to halt a Verne comeback, they went nuts.

How about Jumbo/Funk 6/11/76?

Kobashi didn't come over *JUST* for ROH. He was also working for Harley Race in WLW, and Harley had been sending his boys over to NOAH for years. So, it's more likley that Gabe and/or Cary found out he was coming over and jumped at the chance to get him.

Bruiser Brody
I can see consideration for Brody and Hansen as a team. But, there's just no way that Brody belongs anywhere near a list of all time greats.

WWE Network... It's Here
Kobashi was Triple Crown Champion in August of '98. I doubt Baba was going to let him go anywhere period. Let alone the American equivalent of FMW to put over their tag champs, unless he *REALLY* liked RVD from his time in AJPW.

Jumbo Tsuruta
The reason I've always ranked Jumbo over Misawa is in the way Jumbo works with lower-ranked workers. Simply put, Misawa didn't *work* with them. He just let them tee off on him for 9/10 of the match, and then took it home when he was ready. Taiyo Kea in '98, Hiroshi Hase in 2000, Takuma Sano in 2003. Jumbo worked with them and made them look credible. I reviewed a bunch of Jumbo's AWA Title matches, both in Japan and the U.S. and he was going out of his way to make Jim Brunzell look like he was only an eyelash away from winning the title.

Quotable Wrestling
Jesse at his best. I actually prefer him and Monsoon over Monsoon and Heenan. Another good Jesse line: Ventura: Now why would Warrior do that? Hogan eliminates the warrior, so he gets in the ring and nails the other two opponents? That don't make sense to me Schivone! Shaivone: He's a wild man! Ventura: He's an idiot! SummerSlam '89 after Warrior used the belt. Jesse: That's a disqualification!! Where in the hell is the referee? Tony: That's outside of the ring Jesse. Jesse: So what? Tony: As much as it can just be a coun tout here. Jesse: What are you going to tell me Schiavone? You can shoot somebody outside the ring, as long as it's outside the ring? Royal Rumble '90 after Hogan slingshots Perfect into the post. Jesse: He put him into the post! See what Perfect did to the post! Tony: Actually, he was saved by the post that time, I think. Jesse: Saved? How do you get saved hitting the post? Tony: Well, if he hadn't hit the post, he would've gone over the top.

KC's Teddy Long Youshoot is solid, but not great.

The fifth member of Team Cena
Everyone seems sure, for good reasons, that it's going to be Ryback. I'd say use the PPV kick off show, to show an angle of Ryback getting jumped by Harper and carted off in an ambulance. This takes Ryback out of the match and sets up a program with Harper. Team Cena comes down and Cena gets on the mic, and says that the Authority took Ryback out. But, if they think that the match is going to be 5-on-4, "I'M AFRAID I'VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS!" and the returning Bad News Barrett is the fifth member. It gives Barrett a big return, and also can play off the fact that HHH was seemingly a huge supporter of him before he got hurt. And the announcers can talk about the history of Cena and Barrett going back to the Nexus days.

KC wanted Backlund for 1981, but they couldn't come to terms on a price tag. Too bad too, I would have loved hearing about the famous Valentine match where Greg was announced as new champ. I guess we can hold out hope for Bob for 1982, because I have no idea who else they can get besides Snuka, and that would be a trainwreck. Maybe Afa and/or Sika?
