Guest Booker with Bruce Prichard is a really interesting interview, but the booking itself is fucking abysmal. The idea is supposed to be getting from points A to B without having to screw Bret. But, Prichard is just all over map with ideas and, there's nothing realistic. He talks about bringing in Hogan (like they could afford him when they couldn't afford Bret) and then having Bret's sendoff be working UT at WM14, when UT/Kane was already started by the time Montreal happened. But, the actual interview itself, getting his take on what happened, and getting some insight as to how Vince's mind works (including what made Vince come up with the Red Rooster) is great stuff.

1990s All Japan
The best I've been able to figure is that the idea was to start some sort of push for Omori, after he'd largely been wasted during the previous decade. And/or to establish that Jun wasn't a main event player quite yet.

An interim champion isn't the worst idea in the world. It would even give WWE a hint of credibility. They can bring out Vince to say that the board of directors voted, and decided to not strip him of the title. They can crown an interim champion at Payback, and then sell MITB or even Summerslam, to give Bryan more time to heal up, on the unification match.

I felt like Russo's Guest Booker had a strong start, with the Hall, Nash, and Hogan angles, which leads to them reforming the nWo, but then, eventually leveled itself off. Much like Russo's real booking tenures. I'd put Russo's invasion ahead of Cornette's. But overall, I'd put Cornette's GB interview over Russo's.

Do you resent Brock Lesnar's deal?
I don't see why any fans would resent Brock's deal. We can look back on how he's been used the past coupe of years and see that they've really done a shitty job of using him. So, they haven't gotten as much for their money as they probably could have, but that's not Brock's fault nor is it his problem. Like everyone else has said, good for him. He left ten years ago because he didn't like all the travel. So, he worked hard and became a huge name in the UFC. And now, he's back, with a big money deal and working the limited dates to account for his dislike of the heavy travel.

I think the more interesting question is this: Would have Billy Gunn gotten that pop? More or less of one? Had they not pulled the double title switch, and Billy won the IC Title that night, then I think he MIGHT have gotten as good a reaction as Road Dogg did for retaining. Only because that actually would have paid off the storyline of Billy chasing it.

Something that crossed my mind as I'm watching and reviewing Wrestlemania XV: Would it be fair to say that that show was the peak of Road Dogg's popularity? The four way IC Title match is horrendous, but when Dogg wins, the pop is amazing.

My favorite memory of myself and my late grandfather was when I was about ten years old, or so. I'd found an old VHS recording of the 1990 Royal Runmble PPV at my grandparents house and popped it in at something like midnight. Grandpa got up to use the bathroom, heard it on the TV, and came out to watch with me. We both fell asleep in front of the TV.

[2011-08-20-PWG-Battle of Los Angeles] El Generico vs Claudio Castagnoli
The best match of the tournament, and a nice preview of how they'd tear things up in NXT a couple of years down the road. Their chemistry is obvious, and they take the time to lay this out in such a way that, while Generico's flash cradle win looks like a bit of a fluke, it works in the context of the story they'd been telling.

[2011-08-20-PWG-Battle of Los Angeles] Kevin Steen vs El Generico
This was good for what it was, and that's really all there is to say about it. Compared to some of the other garbage on the show, it was an all time classic.

The Syracuse collectables convention was yesterday, and I found more luchdores. In this case, its AAA figures of Konnan (with hair!) and La Parka. The guy who was selling them said the cost him about $100 each, but he sold them to me for $20 for both. I was the only person who showed any real interest in them, and even knew who, and what, they were. The missus thought I was nust for buying them, until we jumped on eBay and found that same Konnan figure going for more than $80.

I didn't think Cena/Wyatt was horrible or anything, but it could have chopped off ten minutes and not lost anything. Supercena overcoming the impossible odds has been done to death though.

Because every 3-way match that features a title change, has to have it end without the champion losing directly. It's in the handbook.

It's the only explanation that really makes sense. He's been fiercely loyal to NOAH, he could have easily jumped to All Japan with Akiyama, or to New Japan any number of times.

I'm dragging this over from the 2013 match discussion thread, because it doesn't quite apply there anymore. The Young Bucks have got to be one of the worst teams at at working a heel control segment. Between the Steen/Generico match from last January and the KOW match from the BOLA in 2011, I could never see them again and would be fine with it.

KC could probably lump 1992 and 93 together with Gordon, since I highly doubt there's much to talk about with 1992.

In an awesome bit of randomness, the Syracuse, NY Quaker Steak and Lube has a crane machine with CMLL Plush figures (complete with official tags) there was a Mistico right on top, and another Luchadore I didn't recognize (I think Mephisto or Ephesto) and I figured it was some sort of knockoff, until I saw the CMLL tag. I thought about trying to get it, but I didn't have any cash. And, it also hit me, that if I got it, I'd really have nothing to do with it, after I showed my two or three friends who would actually care about it.
