RIP Mae Young
My buddies and I got a huge kick out of the fact that when she did the table spot with Bubba, she took way more of a bump than Terri Runnels did a couple weeks before.

Most boring wrestler of all time?
I might be biased because Walters did some good stuff in 2CW years later, but Walters had that match with Daniels and the Xavier feud to his credit. I'm at a complete loss for anything from Rave that's even close to the Daniels match. And, Rave had a much longer run and a lot more quality opponents than Walters.

Most boring wrestler of all time?
I've always found it bizzare that there were only a few guys on the ROH roster that had more heat than Jimmy Rave in 2005-06, and that there were also fewer who were so boring to actually watch work.

C.M Punk
Punk is well known for how much of a dick he can be. Hell, his best friends have said it. Colt Cabana has worked 2CW a few times and if someone asks him about Punk, it's usually one of the first things he'll come out with.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
I was thinking the exact same thing, actually. Although I get the feeling that the match won't be as balls out awesome as the La Parka vs. L A Park match from TripleMania a few years back.

Smackdown Six Era
Found it, thanks to the wayback machine. From DVDVR Issue #139. It's not from Dean, it's actually from TKG: "Again, Takayama makes you believe in his opponents. Takayama fights for and out of German suplexes. It's amusing to see a single German be so meaningful when there must be thirty meaningless Germans in every Smackdown tag."

Smackdown Six Era
I'm not gonna say that it was "hating" on Smackdown, but I know there was some criticism of it on DVDVR. During whatever article had the Takayama roundtable discussion on it, one of them (I want to credit Dean, but I'm not sure) commented something along the lines of that it was great to see Takayama make his German seem important when there were probably 30 worthless Germans in every Smackdown tag match.

Current WWE
Praise the lord, I'd heard that it was an actual report. Bryan winning the Rumble is the only one that really seems to make a lick of sense right now, unless they want to do a surprise return, like Sheamus, and put him over in the match.

Wrestling Christmas Presents
I got Hulk Hogan bubblebath when I was five.

Wrestling Observer Recaps
I'd love for Loss to keep going with '89, and I'd love to bang out some more pre 1988, but typing them up is very time consuming and between a full time job, and a second full time job in the form of two little kids, I just don't have it in me right now.

The only examples I'm recalling are Memphis with Tommy Rich under the ring, and Continental with Doug Furnas' debut (which was stolen for Kane in Badd Blood).

Pro Wrestling Only On Twitter!
I see that Jamie Dundee is following the PWO account, and way back when, he tweeted a link to the PG-13 thread.

AJ styles in WWE, would you like to see it?
It'd be good for AJ to make it to the big time, a healthy and regular paycheck is a beautiful thing, but I can't say as though I'm going to be heartbroken if there's no interest in him. He can tour the indy scene and probably charge top dollar, and one of the major Japanese companies will probably want him.

Current WWE
Exactly. It's no different than the notion that you don't have to be a wrestler to know what makes good and bad wrestling. Or, like Dave used to say, you don't need to be a chef to know that the food stinks.

WWE Midcard Purges
A couple of years ago, when Dolph and Kofi were tearing things up every week, I thought it was criminal that they were stuck in the lower card, and feuding over the IC and US straps. Once Kofi got away from Dolph, things went downhill. I agree with Brad's point though, Kofi is the type of guy that you keep around for the kids and merch buying types.

Current WWE
Mistico was pretty shitty the last year or so of his run, so I don't doubt this for a second.

For sheer entertainment value, you can't beat Cornette. But, for sheer content (which is no surprise since this timelines covers six years), and good stories, Bruno's timeline leaves Corny's in the dust!

Shoots Review and Preview thread
I'm enjoying it a lot, the Bill Watts story from MSG that led to his leaving the territory is great stuff! The only problem I have with it, is that it's really geared for a much older crowd. Bruno drops quite a few names that I occasionally recognize, but on the whole, don't mean anything to me.

Pat Patterson and Ray Stevens Fightin' Words
Another plus in the Stevens column: Bruno Sammartino says that Stevens was so good that he's one of a very few that he'd allow to call an entire match, and just follow along.

The only really serious topic I can think of is Jim's overall love and passion for the business, which probably turns into why he despises guys like Jim Herd and Vince Russo so much.

I don't get why someone would actually ask to be banned. If I decide that I don't want to post here anymore, then I'll just stop coming here and stop posting.

Survivor Series 2013
I liked the opener, and I enjoyed the Wyatts vs. Punk/Bryan. The rest I could have done without. I'm happy to see Mark Henry return and beat Ryback, but the match itself did nothing for me. I did get a chuckle when Cole made a point of announcing that Nikki Bella was also a survivor. I yelled out "Now I can sleep tonight!" which got a laugh out of people.

Favourite submissions holds
I'm a sucker for tricked out looking armbars, Atushi Aoki of All Japan (and NOAH before that) always brings the goods.
