Honestly I am looking at it from the perspective that you need to build new stars along with whoever you have that is established. I feel Cody is going to get his 15 mins a week no matter what he is doing, so why not give someone else a reason to be showcased? Best way is by being the secondary champion fighting different challengers every week. Cody could fit this but I'd prefer seeing someone else in this role.

That I will agree with. The followup is the key. If Darby was booked like a midcarder who happened to win a belt, I would agree it wouldn't work. I don't think that is what would happen though.

I would agree that if WWE decided to create a belt for the midcarders, the level of skepticism for its chances of getting over. AEW has done nothing really to make me think they would botch a Darby run or a Sammy run.

It's AEW. They will be fine with whoever they put the belt on. Why not use it as an opportunity to make a bigger star? Parking it with Cody is just the least imaginative thing they could do with it. If they put the TNT title on Darby and told him to go tear down the house with challengers, he'll get it over. Same goes for the Spanish Sex God. Really, I'd put it on TNA era Lance Hoyt before I'd put it on Cody.

If Cody wins the belt, I would definitely be disappointed. It should go to Darby or Sammy Guevara.

Unless they had Archer distract Cody during the semis, and Cody returns the favor in the finals against Darby, so you can have a new champion, a program thats a bit hotter and with minimal effort required.

The Gobert stuff needs to stop. It's not a good comparison or even similar. Gobert completely treated the whole thing like a joke with the mics stuff, and screwed up. The Miz knows better than to come in, but I doubt his intentions were as bad as Gobert's was.

Braun definitely devalued himself the past year or more, both in character on the shows and in real life. However, I am stoked to see what Braun as champion would look like. That said, I don't think that whoever replaces Roman would automatically be put over Goldberg. Its likely they have Braun eat the pin and try the Reigns/Goldy match again later.

I was happy to pay 50 for Full Gear but my wife was not amused at all when I told her about it after the fact. Even with disposable income, 50 dollars is a big ask for a single three hour or four hour event in this day and age.

AAF's problem was trying to beat XFL to the punch by starting their season a year or two too early. They were just not ready to handle all of the costs and issues that arose, as evident by them needing a billionaire to bail them out. And that guy may or may not have only bought the league for the technology they were using. Once he realized he couldn't make money off the patents for the tech, he closed the league almost immediately. Not exactly a story of triumph for the XFL.
