[1995-08-21-WWF-Raw] Diesel & Davey Boy Smith vs Men on a Mission
I'm guessing Davey Boy would have beaten Luger at the September IYH to prep him for facing Diesel in October, rather than beating the rapidly falling down the card Bam Bam Bigelow. I think WWF did tape four weeks of Luger stuff for tv that wound up being thrown out when he went back to WCW.

[1995-07-07-WAR-3rd Anniversary Show] Chris Jericho vs Ultimo Dragon
Was this the match that (allegedly) got Jericho his job with ECW? If it is, Dave has talked about it in the WON where he might have reviewed it at some point.

Who from the 70s and 80 would have got world title runs ...
I once saw something on a baseball site trying to forecast what the playoff races would have looked like in the 70's and 80's had there been three divisions and a wild card in those seasons rather than just the two divisions. I wonder what a hypothetical brand extension would have looked like in WWF in the 80's. One could be the Superstars brand and the other the Challenge brand, with different rosters for each show and monthly PPVs. I'm guessing a LOT of guys not even being considered would have gotten runs with one of the two belts had there been two world champions and monthly PPVs in the 80's.

The JTTS
I don't know if that was intentional or not, but it definitely makes sense. Spike Dudley and Crash Holly were on the same basic level for most of their WWE stints.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I may have said this before, but honestly, I mostly subscribe for the classic Observers at this point. There is a joy in his wrestling coverage that is so obviously absent from the current issues that makes them a lot more enjoyable to read. Granted, the wrestling of 1994 was so much better than the wrestling of today, but still, what does it say when I'd rather read Dave's takes on things from 17 years ago than anything he writes today?

UWC Championship Wrestling
As I mentioned, I've largely stopped posting about these here, as I really don't like plugging my own stuff and it wasn't generating much discussion at all here, so I'm not looking to clog the board with my own shills. That said, I'm really happy with how the last two weeks of TV have turned out, with a couple of big angles to help set up our big year end show which doubles as a Toys For Tots fundraiser, so I wanted to share and would love feedback if anybody has any to provide. Little background: Our lead heel manager Joe Rules put a bounty on the head of Silly Billy (yes, I know the name is kinda ridiculous, but the guy is super over to our largely kid-oriented crowd and he's not a bad worker to boot). Unfortunately, Joe had to leave UWC for a while afterwards, so we had to create a new stable based on the two wrestlers he had left (our heavyweight champion Geoffrey Bravo and Big Rig) and our best talker not affiliated with anybody and his tag team partner. We used this as a way to kick off the new stable on this show and put some heat on them to build to our big heavyweight title match at our Toys For Tots event. The second show, in particular, I think is really strong and features the best pop I can ever remember at a UWC event, that I don't think is totally captured on camera. Episode 39: Episode 40:

This. I send Dave plugs for the UWC stuff I do every week. It is about a 50/50 chance that the plug will run in that day's update I've sent him plugs on Wednesday that didn't run until Saturday, in some cases, after sending emails every day to remind him.

I like how Andre was just chilling at the bar with Pat Patterson and Arnold Skaaland before Sherri showed up.

[1995-03-25-SMW-TV] Interview: Dirty White Boy / Interview: The Gangstas / Interview: Al Snow & Unabomb
Yeah, it probably wasn't fair that Al Snow had to replace Eddie Gilbert as the mouthpiece in this tag team as he wasn't anywhere near that level. SMW also gets to be the answer to a trivia question, "What was the last wrestling promotion Eddie Gilbert walked out of before he died?" as he left SMW to go back to Puerto Rico about two weeks before he died.

[1995-02-18-SMW-TV] Interview: Chris Candido
I saw this probably about 10-15 years ago, and after years of going to Dennis Coralluzzo shows down the street from my house and hearing Dennis stories and such, this had me howling with laughter. I miss both Candido and Dennis, New Jersey-area indy wrestling is poorer without both of them.

Is "Old Lady in the Front Row" just a thing that happens at every wrestling show? Even at the local UWC shows that I work with, we have our old lady with the cane who yells at all of the heels.

What about a parody workrate indy where guys dress in clown outfits and do Davey Richards-esque matches? I feel like there is an extremely small amount of money to be made parodying ROH and Evolve and these other workrate indies, but done correctly it could be hilarious.
