Nah, if nothing else, Triple H would hire Flair to be his poolboy. But at this point, an indy promoter would have to be an absolute idiot to book Ric Flair given his track record.

I always assumed when a diva is a favorite of management, it's code for "diva who is willing to fuck John Laurinaitis."

20 Years Ago - WON 09/19/88
I like reading the Continental stuff, but it's sad knowing that there's only a few more weeks before Eddie has his blowup with Woods and the whole thing goes to shit. Does anybody have the Gilbert-booked run on DVD in decent quality? Wouldn't mind owning that.

The entire Konnan bio is amazing. Just page after page of self-congratulatory nonsense. I mean, I'm glad he made it in, and I think he probably deserved to make it, but there has never been as glowing a biography in the history of the WON. Here's another exerpt:

I mean, what the fuck? How magnanimous of Konnan!

Sims with a heaping dose of Konnan. I'm in 1992 and so far I haven't read a disparaging word about Konnan. I'm not sure I'll be able to get through this.

So quiet, in fact, that I as a subscriber had no idea they had done this until I read this post. Rat bastards!

The "Confirmed Stories of Triple H Being A Total Douchebag" Thread
A Jericho DVD comp by WWE would be really good too, as they could go back to 1994 SMW, 1996 ECW, 1996-1999 WCW, and 1999-present WWE. That's sixteen years worth of stuff, not including any Sudden Impact stuff they might dig up if they looked for it from Canada. As it is, 80% of Jericho's career is laying in the WWE archives somewhere, which is remarkable considering the legnth of his career (and as an aside, is anybody else stunned that Jericho has been around for 20 years now? I feel old).

Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
Actually, I think his in-ring has been pretty good as a babyface, he has a few signature spots that the crowd knows and pops for, and knows how to build towards those spots to get the maximum pop. The crowd always pops huge for the set-up moves to the RKO. I just don't see how anybody could ever cheer Randy Orton. I mean, look at that guy. He just looks like an asshole. I think that's why folks are burying his face turn more than anything, they don't see how anybody could actually like Orton, even if what he's doing is getting huge, albeit inexplicable, positive crowd reactions.

I can think of no better name for a user on that board than "The Cancer."

The "Confirmed Stories of Triple H Being A Total Douchebag" Thread
He did put Batista over beyond any shadow of a doubt. He's the one guy who somehow outsmarted HHH at every turn and beat him decisively on PPV something like three shows in a row, before HHH took an extended sabbatical. One could question the wisdom of choosing Batista, of all guys, as the guy to put over, as he's not really a guy who would threaten HHH for the top spot, but he's the one example. Jericho looks completely fucked on Raw. Right now, he'd be at best the #3 heel behind Sheamus and Edge, and that assumes Batista really won't stick around past the next PPV. I can see him very easily being lost in the upper midcard shuffle feuding with MVP and Henry on Raw, or worse, being turned babyface when he still has a good deal of momentum as a heel.

Somehow, F4W did what WrestlingClassics couldn't and drove poor Dave crazy.

I still don't really get the heat between Bischoff and Meltzer. I think everything Bischoff has said after witnessing Dave's meltdown in the WON during his review of Controversy Equals Cash has been more to troll Dave and get more of that type of reaction out of him. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. At least he's no longer pimping Bob Ryder as a serious journalist anymore.

Only somewhat on-topic, and this is admittedly a huge nitpick, but is anybody else bothered that Dave always refers to the practice of tweeting as "twittering"? Its usage has picked up with so much of the "trip from hell" business from this past week, and it always annoys me. Maybe that's just me.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
Was it really Russo who was trying to get rid of JR in 1998-1999, though? I mean, considering that Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn have both continued to try to pull JR from television numerous times since then would seem to debunk that it was all Russo.

Strange that Terry Funk walked out of jobs with both WWF and WCW in 1993 before starting either.

Looks like we aren't getting a Doc obit. If we didn't get it this week, during a two-WON week where the second WON was noticably lacking for content, then we're never getting it.

Why do I get the feeling that this was, at least in some small part, the impetus behind the Cornette/MX book where Cornette goes into detail about how much money he drew?

It's B, there are three DiBiase brothers. Mike is kind of the black sheep of the DiBiase family, as I think he's had several personal issues that have kept him out of WWE.

Shit, Henry probably had more good matches in 2006 than Angle did. And unlike Angle, Henry isn't a crazy drug addict.
