r/SquaredCircle's 100 Greatest Matches Ever Poll
Where did this person get that talking point? Where are the lists of pimped 70s Onita? I'm trying to remember which Onita tag I really love. Is it: 6/6/82 Ric Flair & Dick Slater vs. Giant Baba & Onita It might be? Oh, I get that there's early Onita we've enjoyed, but I have serious doubts that whomever made that comment on reddit has ever seen much of it, let alone much FMW Onita to compare. It sounds like something they read somewhere, memorized, and repeated. It's vague enough that it doesn't sound like they've hardly seen an Onita match.

Did you hate it so much that you're doing a live blog about it over at Segundo Caruda? This is a joke I don't understand. Are my blog posts hate-filled? That doesn't seem right.

Thank god it's a new week of TV, I hated how the bassackwards dates looked in the other ones

Dave Meltzer stuff
To be fair, I think Red is quite a great shout better than Petey Williams, and he wasn't the one doing Spanish Flies. I think Red is a pretty underrated worker.

Indy shoot-style matches
PREMIER was a really great short-lived Bay Area fed. I think they only ran 11 shows? There was a different, just as awesome Thatcher/Graves match on show 10, and they never ended up posting that one online. I wish they were still around, easily worth driving 2+ hours each way.

2018 pro wrestling is insanely interesting
I would have never seen the outdoors if we had this kind of wrestling accessibility when I as a teenager. I likely would have never talked to girls in college if accessibility was at this level. It's weird (sad?) to think that my life would have actually been quite different.

He looks much smaller than when I saw them (which, I guess is probably getting close to 10 years ago).

The XFL is returning?
On my drive to work the Bay Area sports hosts were talking about this, wondering what players they could even get to play in a new XFL. And the hosts showed they have no idea what Vince's political motivations might be by proceeding to talk about how Kaepernick would be the most obvious choice as the first announced player. There is a far far far greater chance of them hiring an actor to play "Colon Krapernick, Bumbling QB Who Shits Pants"

That guy is the shittiest. I don't think I've ever seen him react to a single thing. I guess he just pays tens of thousands of dollars a year to look bored?

Www tv, 1 - 7/1/18
It is true that a lot of the women can't take very good bumps over the top. Most of them are too short, so they have to awkwardly jump up to the bottom rope before they get clotheslined over. It typically telegraphs when someone is going over.

The Young Bucks - a discussion
I agree most with Phil's statement that their highs can be really high, and stuff I think might be a low I just have no problem skipping. We've had a few Bucks matches finish really high on our MOTY lists, namely that Hardy Boys match which is actually my favorite tag team match of the decade. All the matches that have landed high on our lists: vs. Hardy Boys (NEW 8/2/14) vs. Angelico/Jack Evans (PWG 7/24/15) vs. Cobb/Riddle (PWG 12/16/16) I also think they're annoying wink-wink act works best in non "hip" indies. Stick themselves in front of some honest to god wrestling fans who hate heels and they turn into great John Tatum pretty boy shitheads. The vibe totally changes when fans are in on the joke.

But if you just pay the $9.99 a month, you do get to see new events eventually, right? As in, the live events get posted shortly after?

Wrestler of the Year 2017
I mostly dislike modern NJPW but ZSJ's two matches against Tanahashi and his Ishii match were excellent.

Did you see his face just from waving his arms after Orton hit a DDT?

Clash of Champions 2017
I'm doing a live blog over at SC: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/12/wwe-clash-of-champions-2017-live-blog.html Pre-show match was fun, as they typically are.

The card doesn't do much for me, but over the last year the low expectation cards have tended to overdeliver.

The XFL is returning?
Is the Total Divas franchise the only actually successful "outside traditional pro wrestling" project they've ever had? Obviously The World and the XFL were tremendous money losers, but I don't think any of their movies been successful (I seem to remember the first one breaking even, and the others all being diminishing returns).

Best and Worst Strikes
Whenever I watch late 90s WCW I think Kaz Hayashi looks like one of the best workers in the world for that time period.

WWE TV 4th - 11th December 2017
Reigns/Jordan was tremendous, every part of it. Cruiser match was fun and I love Gulak getting more and more attention. I usually fast forward pretty liberally through Raw and Smackdown, but I probably watched more of this Raw than any all year.
