Unrelated to this year, but I'm watching the Mania 28 HOF uncut and holy shit, JBL's speech inducting Ron Simmons is outstanding, funny, and touching. Try and find it, it's so fucking good. Just one thing that starts it that's great is JBL saying that the night before a writer came up to him saying he was assigned to help him with his speech. JBL says he can't repeat what he told him and that the day he needs help talking about the best friend he's ever had is the day you can put him in the ground.

What's this story? I didn't start following stuff on the net til 2004 so there's probably a lot of well known dirtsheet stories from around this time I have no idea of. After Pillman died, Vince addressed the troops and admitted that some of his ideas weren't working as well as he'd like and encouraged the talent to be more pro-active in their character development. That led to more "reality-based" characters/promos and less stuff like Thurman Sparky Plugg and TL Hopper. I thought that was after that RAW with the European tourney final that got killed against Nitro.

I'm digging the retcon-ish deal with Taker being clearly dominant for years, but in the last 4 or 5 years he's had a harder time, not because he's been facing top guys but because he's getting old.

Christian said it during an interview, granted they haven't repeated it or pushed it hard, but that IS the reason he turned on Sheamus, mixed with the mis timed brogue kick and Christian playing up the "desperate vet who knows this is his last run". I agree they haven't promoted it strongly but all these reasons have been talked about on TV.

The Christian/ Shaemus fued is based on Christian being jealous that his comeback from injury was overshadowed by Shaemus' comeback from injury. He felt forgotten and disrespected and took it out on Sheamus.

Bryan as a face in ROH was amazingly awful on the mic. He was always good as a heel.

JR and Foley busting the balls of some smart fans and some "dirt sheet" guys is some great shit.

Del Rio was pretty over as a bad guy during his initial run.

I laughed when HHH was praising Bryan and said "Anyone else I treated like you would have taken their ball and gone home" and the crowd chanted "CM PUNK."

Oh man, the Cena/ Wyatt hype video to the Eminem song was fucking killer. As was Bray just murderalizing Kofi like it was a Saturday morning in 1984 and Kofi was Rudy Diamond.

Fuck the crowd, I was cheering.

No love for the continued "Lawler used his connections to allow the Occupy RAW to happen" story? I loved it and it makes sense. And the connected Shield turn and Kane beatdown ruled.

Oh and the Rhodes Brothers T Shirt is fucking bad ass.

That Taker video about him getting old ruled. And Hen Pecked HHH is fucking great.

Christian fucking KILLING JBL for the ugly jokes, while Cole and Lawler were cracking up ruled. "You're out here calling me skinny and ugly, you look like David Spade in a fat suit." This looks like about a couple thousand people I've seen at a Dead show during a really great Dark Star as the acid kicked in.
