Jimmy Golden worked as a full time wrestler AND was a full-time factory worker for 25 years. He really is fucking awesome. I loved the HHH/ Brock stuff, it was bad ass. Even if HHH's jeans looked like he either had an accident or sat on a wet seat. I totally dug Mark Henry squashing Khali. See, Dylan...it's gonna be ok, man. You gotta have faith. Hell No vs PTP was really fun. I dug the call back spot to Jake vs Martel via Bryan's "Yes!" and "No!" chants. I LOVED the Shield promo, and Sheamus and Orton "out heeling" them to keep things interesting fucking ruled.

Tropes in pro-wrestling that you loathe
See, that's it right there. If that was a finish in a hate filled match that led to a double countout? I'd have no problem with it.

Considering that the non kayfabe stuff was only on the internet, I don't really have a problem with it now that I think of it. They showed that promo on SmackDown without the breaking character stuff.

I'm totally torn on it. Like Dylan I kinda hate the "Hey, it's fake" stuff...but Dutch Mantell cutting a promo on Beck and morons of his ilk is so awesome....... I'm gonna lean to "this rules", because it's Dutch.

Larry Matysik's 50 Greatest Professional Wrestlers
I do recall a story in "Sex, Lies, and Headlocks" that Flair was the guy Turner was all about. Granted, it was in "Sex, Lies, and Headlocks"...so there ya go. And I remember Foley saying in his first book that when Turner talked to the employees it felt like Flair was the only guy he knew and gushed over. Granted, that was Foley's first book where he still had some issues with Flair.

Hulk Hogan's best matches
I can't agree with this, but I will introduce an element of nuance here after watching his AWA stuff: I think there are two slightly different versions of Hogan -- the AWA and early WWF guy, who was wild and always full of fire, and the red and yellow WWF Hogan post-86. I think the earlier version has really good offense, a wider range of moves, and more viciousness, but he is not as good as selling he would become. He worked in a much more dominant manner where the heel control segement is severely truncated. The red and yellow version slowed down and limited his offense to a small formula, but learned how to be a very sympathetic babyface and gave heels longer control segments so that the comeback would mean something. I think selling is more than just taking bumps. Red and yellow Hogan is great at taking a heel beatdown or at taking a submission hold and drawing the sympathy of the crowd. If you don't think he is, I'd like to see the argument. Early WWF Hogan as champ matches usually had him selling like a motherfucker. By the time he'd Hulk up he had the shit kicked out of him and was more often than not covered in blood.

??? I'm guessing he's talking about Hick's bit about stoned drivers. "Now. You know what, if I was going to have a drug be legal, it would not be alcohol, you know why? There's better drugs and better drugs for you. That's a fact, so you can stop your internal dialogue. "Wait a minute, Bill, alcohol is an accepted form of social interaction which for thousands of years has been the norm under which human beings have congregated in the form of social events and..." Shut the fuck up. Your denial is beneath you, and thanks to the use of hallucinogenic drugs, I see through you. Pot is a better drug than alcohol - fact, and I'll prove it. You're at a ballgame, you're at a concert, someone's really violent, aggressive and obnoxious, are they drunk or are they smoking pot? (Audience) Drunk! The one and only correct answer, tell them what they've won, Johnny. I have never seen people on pot get in a fight because it is fucking impossible! Hey, buddy. Hey, what? End of argument. Say you get in a car accident, and you've been smoking pot. You're only going four miles an hour. Vroom... CRASH. Shit, we hit something. Forgot to open the garage door, man. We got to get the garage door open so Domino's knows we're home!"

That's not exactly what I said, dude. I said that when I'm drawn into a tag match by the work of the wrestlers, I don't notice things like "AWA style or Southern Style, etc."

A clash with Vicki Guerrero over marriage equality is inevitable, since every gay man has at least one friend or acquaintance like Vicki. There are no exceptions. The Guerreros were/are devout Christians, so I wouldn't be surprised if Vickie had some horribly retrograde views on homosexuality. Wow...you are just the gift that keeps on giving sometimes.

They clearly want it as a t-shirt. Henry also was yelling "If I wanted to dance, I'd of brought a date!", which of course ruled.- Current WWE
Oh, that's totally what it is, with the twist of "this country is great for people who want to take advantage of the opportunities it offers...like ME!" See, he hasn't gone the "took our jobs" route..it's "the ones who want handouts". Dutch is so good, he knows that's way to go because people have pretty much dropped the "jobs" shit as it's been pointed out enough that Americans aren't actually angry about not being able to do migrant work. I still say that if Dutch and Jimmy Golden fought together in Nam like they're saying, then how'd we lose?- Current WWE
I love the gimmick, and it's easily something that can be dropped silently when they eventually move him up to the Main Event. He has "future Main Event Guy" written all over him, and that's why I'm loving that he's being brought up the old fashioned way.- Current WWE
Here's why I'm loving the Zeb/ Swagger gimmick. The days of "evil over the top foreigner heel and his manager" are over. That leaves a space for a similar type of character. So looking inward for "Ideological Threat" characters is the way to go. Cesaro is a different deal, but is also a new take on the "Evil Foreigner". - Current WWE
