Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
Alverez' latest crush appears to be NXT manchick Kaitlyn, and his rage at McCool kicking her stiff on NXT is hilarious. "She'll get hers..."

Dave Meltzer stuff
Alverez complaining that the promos leading up for Mir/ Crocop were boring because they're about "I'm ready and He's got a reach, etc" and not Pro Wrestling promos is funny.

Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
Nah, I always thought the cage match was incredibly over rated. The night of the show I remember liking Razor/ Diesel more. While THAT opinion may have changed, I still think the cage match isn't the classic it's made out to be. And boy, some people out there react like frothing maniacs when you say that cage match wasn't that great.

Or, silly comedy writers said "Goldust amd Goldberg! It'll be funny!" with absolutely no ultra weird sinister ulterior motives. I was watching that Elimination Chamber match recently and Goldberg is booked like the world's biggest badass ever in it, and the crowd is super hot for him. It took HHH, Flair, and the sledgehammer to put him down. It was great.

Fuck, they put that Lesnar/ Big Show moment at the top of greatest Smackdown moments on the SD DVD that they put out last year.

More Wrestling Than Wrestling: SLL's new feature at Cageside Seats
I was going to start quoting my favorite parts , until I quickly realized that the entire chapter was dead-on perfect and had me laughing here. Has someone thought to link these to WO? Or submit them as "a new column about movies", or even just link 'em at that message board from hell?

Dave is the one who'd I'd think would have realized that it was just a joke. I'm thinking Todd. And here ya go. Seriously, does he wear a tinfoil hat? The LAST thing people were thinking was that Rock or Lesnar were going to come out and confront Punk. A Hogan impression isn't a plug for TNA. Does he not get that this was a segment where the most hated heel in WWE is bashing things that are generally remembered fondly to get heat while they're doing a retrospective of "wild moments"? NO ONE, outside of him and a small, small, handful of people could have watched that and be left with "It reminded me of when it was great and they were putting over people who don't work there!"

Dave Meltzer stuff
Yeah, it was totally meant as a joke. Just like Punk saying he'd never throw a foe in a body of water when that was the highlight of his ECW fued with Chavo. But I'd guess they'll not understand that.

The "BOXING IS DEAD" because Dana White basically put on a fixed fight with his legend vs. a fat boxer who didn't care, so Dana can have an "EC-DUB! EC-DUB!" type moment, thing going on over there is hilarious.

Acknowledgement of wrestling history
Dude, when did you get cable? 1998? The WWE has changed quite significantly since cable television came out.

What is she talking about? These are before my time. I figure she's talking about Apartment Wrestling and the occassional pic of Fallen Angel.

WWE quirks, linguistic and otherwise
People say it's cause Vince doesn't like to be called "Junior". I think it's more that a grown man in Rasslin' who's supposed to be tough sounds weird to most people with "junior" after their name. Besides Dory Funk Jr. has there been anyone who REALLY eclipsed their Dad or whoever while tagged with being called "Junior"? And if you are a grown man, would you really still want to be called "Junior"? I asked Dory about the name change to "Hoss" in the WWF on a WO Radio show some years back and he said that he'd actually always been called "Hoss" in school and by his family and he had no problem with it.

Good guys making fun of heels by calling them "sissies/ gay/ light in the loafers/ etc." has been part of wrestling since there's been wrestling. I love people who are all "It's a terrible HHH thing".

Unless you're Kane, who always loudly calls the refs by their first names during matches, ala : "Come on, Charles!" Our old favorite from the late 90's was "collusion". Somebody was always either in collusion or suspected of being in collusion.

Summerslam
Well, don't ya know that the first time the Von Erichs beat the Freebirds after the fued started, the angle was over and they had to break up the Freebirds? Oh wait.

It's replaced that feeling for me I used to get from boxing. Wrestling is still just fucking fake, as much as I adore it.

Comments that don't warrant a thread
I was just in a shitty mood. I like Harris a ton, I just think he's nowhere near as "awesome" as some go on about. Besides, my venting was more at people going on about the character and type in these posts that read like some Village artsy types were talking about wrestling. "Oh, look at him. Now that is Bill Watts approved. He looks sleazy, and I for one say HUZZAH!"", rather than, "That big fat guy looks like he'd fuck you up." Go eat a potato.

Steamboat DVD
Pick up the DVD set. It's fucking great, and an easy watch. Three discs go by really fast.

Regarding "Husky Harris", Rotundo's kid on NXT. There's something so fucking....gay, (in the annoying, non homosexual bashing way)about dudes going on about how "Husky Harris has that old school sleazy look, and I say run with that, girl!" "He's Bill Watts aproved..that's for sure...hmm, hmm." "I say "Team Husky, cause SCREW Vince McMahon", etc, etc.. He's play acting at being a fat old school guy who wears cowboy boots, and some of you fans are play acting at how "awesome" you think that is. Sam Houston wore cowboy boots and we all HATED him, and he was AWESOME! Harris is really not all that good, yet. Despite his heritage, girth, and boots. Sorry, I'm in a bad mood and had to focus it on something stupid to let it out. So as not to snap at the roomies.

From the latest Classic Observer dated 5/10/1993: "Col. Robert Parker (Robert Fuller) debuted doing an interview in the role of a heel wrestling promoter, claiming to be kin to Col. Tom Parker (Elvis Presley's manager). When I was a very young child in the 60s, I always thought The Beatles were way bigger than Elvis, but now in the 90s I've learned I was wrong. 20 years after his death, Elvis is still being used in wrestling angles while nobody in wrestling ever mentions The Beatles. ______ is not the same thing as pro wrestling
His "arguement" about his saying AJ and then suddenly Angle then back to AJ is/are better than Arn is just mind boggling. And it goes on and on and on. You see, it's 2010 AJ vs 1986 Arn and Flair says Angle is the best while Lucha is what makes the point. And that's why Calgary was the best. I'm not saying that Dave should be an experet on the world of Concert promotion, but it IS a funny comment given the whole "This sport is wrestling" stuff.
