What did you learn about your fandom from GWE?
I learned I value crowd heat a lot. A solidly worked match with great heat is often more satisfying to me than a great technical match that has no heat.

Heavy Hitters that missed your list
I know Childs, myself, and some others have watched the DVDVR Mid South set and are current subscribers to NWA Classics. What I take from this is people have different opinions and that's always going to happen whenever you rate something that doesn't have specific analytical data (i.e. baseball) to argue the case for the best.

Kiyoshi Tamura
His best matches were in RINGS Can't think of an outstanding Tamura UWFI match except for the June 94 Vader match

[1992-08-10-NJPW-G1 Climax] Rick Rude vs Shinya Hashimoto
At this rate in a couple of months I'm only going to take OJ's opinions on japanese wrestling seriously. LOL That's rich coming from you - Garretta is making his way through the Yearbook sets chronologically. (And I am a person who does value OJ's opinion)

Lucha Underground Season 2 debuts tonight.
Azteca Warfare was terrifically booked. Maybe the best booked match since ROH vs CZW Cage of Death.

Negro Navarro
"Solar/Dos Caras Jr/Heavy Metal vs. Negro Navarro/Villano IV/Villano V (AULL 2.11.2006) Another out of nowhere MOTYC. Navarro vs. Solar delivers in spades and Navarro vs. Heavy Metal is a great surprise matchup. Navarro has become a bald headed badass and really started positioning himself as one of the most respected wrestlers in the country around this time." Is this available anywhere? I know my original copy back in 2006 was a Real Media file that had shitty resolution but would love to see this again.

Daniel Bryan
I had Danielson at 25, which is probably a bit too low. I imagine in 2026, with 10 more years of perspective and 85% of his stuff on tape, he would turn into an easy top 10'er for me.

Kiyoshi Tamura: Complete and Accurate
I'll get the 1/23/99 Tamura vs Kohsaka uploaded for you Tamura and Yamamoto did not like each other. from the Nov 18, 2002 WON: Tamura is very upset about the making of the Randleman vs. Yamamoto match because he hates Yamamoto and had no idea they would be appearing on the same card until the announcement was made publicly. I'm upset with that matchmaking as well, as Yamamoto has had serious concussion problems in the past and it was recommended years ago that he retire, and he's a much smaller guy than Randleman as Yamamoto fought at a UFC show at 169 pounds a few years back. The reason for the hatred by Tamura is that Yamamoto revealed publicly that a lot of Tamura's most famous matches in RINGS were actually pro wrestling matches and not MMA matches. There was talk over the weekend that Tamura may pull out of the show, which would wreck it completely from a marketing standpoint. Pride officials claim the story is overblown and internally they never knew of any problems until the story broke in the papers, and don't believe the match is in jeopardy.

Jun Akiyama
Childs spoke to the trios matches, especially in 1993. In singles matches, the 7/9/93 vs Kawada is the definition of a rookie punishment match. Same with the 4/13/95 Hansen match.

Eddie Guerrero
Also recommend the non-TV, not-JIP 6/11/96 match against Benoit from the semis of the BOSJ is an all time classic selling performance by Eddy and a terrific match.

Mike Awesome post ECW
They had the chance to make him a star night 1 in WCW, but Russo completely blew that especially when he put him right next to Kevin Nash. He had a good match against Kanyon at Slamboree but after that was unmotivated due to a terrible gimmick and personal issues.

He will be my highest luchador. I think I have him at 7 or 8 right now.

Mike Quackenbush
I'm luke warm on Quackenbush in general, both in and out of the ring, though I do admire his dedication to trying different things in pro wrestling. Not sure I would agree with the fraud criticism.

Trauma I
They could have made my top 25 tag teams but will be interesting to revisit them in ten years. They were in one of the two tag matches I actually liked last year (vs. Caifan and Cerebro from July 19) and should keep on getting better but neither is on the top 200 for me.

Jushin "Thunder" Liger
Eh. I enjoyed it but Liger was clearly out of his element and lost at several points in the match. Can you elaborate? He wasn't nearly as fluent in his escapes and transitions as Virus. Completely disagree. Don't know what you are seeing. Virus is usually on another level and Liger had no problem keeping up with him, at least for an eight minute match. With the way guys like Navarro and Solar have really started to slow down in the last year or two on the mat, Liger would look spry and would easily hold up his end of the match. Now Liger vs Hechicero would be another thing, though I don't think it is fair to put Hechicero in the maestro category since he still does a lot more flying and non-submission holds.
